Jay Thomas Net Worth 2017: How Much Is Jay Thomas Worth Now?

YouTube

Jay Thomas spent over thirty years in show business. The famed actor and talk radio host passed away today at the age of 69 after a long battle with cancer. He’s co-starred in hit shows such as Mork & Mindy, Gold, Murphy Brown, and much more. After a long life on screen and behind the mic, let’s look at how much dough Jay Thomas has earned over the years…

Jay Thomas Net Worth as of 2017: $3 Million

Thomas has earned a respectably large amount of money throughout his career. He may not have been “super rich,” but $3 million is certainly nothing to shake a stick at. He’s survived by one son he had out of wedlock named J. T. Harding, a country music song writer and lead singer of the band JTX. My condolences go out to the family of the deceased. To honor Jay Thomas, let’s take a quick look at his road to riches and success…

1979 – 1991

He was born Jon Thomas Terrell on July 12, 1948, in Kermit, Texas. In the mid-1970s, he was a radio talk show on 99X. His stage name became Jay Thomas.

Thomas began his career, co-starring as Remo DaVinci on the ABC sitcom Mork & Mindy. After leaving the show in 1981, Thomas popped up on various programs, but for one episode. He made his next big break on the show Cheers, but this still was only featured for a limited number of episodes, as he only appeared nine times.

He appeared in nine episodes for the show Murphy Brown. But it was more about quality over quantity when it came to Jay Thomas. He took home two Emmys, one for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series in 1990, while the other award was Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 1991.

1991 – Present

Jay Thomas appeared on a number of different TV series throughout the years, even providing his voice for shows like The Wild Thornberries, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, and Batman: The Animated Series, though for only one episode each. He also starred in the Emmy-nominated CBS sitcom Love & War.

Thomas starred in the lead role of the made-for-TV movie Killing Mr. Griffin. He also appeared as The Easter Bunny in The Santa Clause 2 & The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause.

Starting in 2005, Thomas was given his own show on SiriusXM Satellite Radio. He hosted The Jay Thomas Show every Friday afternoon.

In 2013, Jay made a special appearance for an episode of the hit Showtime program Ray Donovan.

Jay Thomas had a long, successful career in front of the camera. Even as his age increased, the man was still persistent in acquiring roles. In his last years of life, he mainly took it easy and stayed away from the limelight. Today, he passed away from this earth, leaving behind many memories on film.
