The superstars of WWE SmackDown has invaded the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. Tonight’s show opens up with “The Modern Day Maharaja” WWE World Champion Jinder Mahal. Let’s get right to his epic celebration of the great nation of India…

Jinder Mahal celebrates his culture and country of India

WWE Champion Jinder Mahal calls the crowd a bunch of “xenophobes” for booing him. Today is India’s national independence day. Authentic Indian decorations cover the ring. Dancers come out and a woman sings the Indian national anthem. Mahal berates the crowd after the song. He claims to be the reason why people subscribe to the WWE Network. He says that “Shinsuke Nakamura’s destiny is to lose to the Modern Day Maharaja.”

Mahal begins speaking in Punjabi. Nakamura’s music hits. The crowd cheers.

Jinder is super pissed at Shinsuke Nakamura for interrupting him. Nakamura says that today in Japan, we mourn over the people that have died in war and pray for peace. Shinsuke tells Mahal that he’s ready for the WWE title.


Becky Lynch Vs. Natalya

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi joins commentators at ringside. Becky Lynch and Nattie Neidhart tangle. Lynch gains early advantage, taking the fight to the number one contender. Lynch attacks Nattie like a great ball of fire. She’s going for the DisArm Her, Nattie fights out. But Becky knocks her arse out of the ring.

Becky continues to hurt Nattie during the break with a stiff springboard kick. But Natalya fights back and suplexes Ms. Lynch on the outside. Becky attempts to regain control, but Nattie crushes her momentum. Natalya locks Lynch into a wrenching submission hold. Nattie smacks Lynch in the mid-section while the hold is still applied.

Lynch fights out and flips Nattie on her arse. Nattie runs right into an elbow and multiple clothelines. Becky tosses Nattie over her shoulder with a Becksploder.

Becky Lynch is beating the crap out of Nattie. She tries to slap in the DisArmHer, but Nattie counters, almost applying the Sharpshooter. Becky fights out. She hits an enzirgui and attends the top rope, but Nattie moves out of the way. Lynch crashes to he mat, and Natalya slaps in the sharpshooter. Becky taps out.

Natalya defeats Becky Lynch via submission.

Post-Match: Nattie continues the assault. She reapplies a sharpshooter on Becky. Noami rushes the ring and Nattie retreats. Carmella’s music hits. “Ms. Money In The Bank” Carmella talks trash to Naomi. The champion is unmoved and wants Carmella to bring all the hell she can dish out.


Rusev vs. Chad Gable

Rusev dominates early on into this match. Chad Gable tries his best to turn the tide. He knocks the bigger man down, but Rusev gets up and knocks his ass out of the ring. Rusev bashes Gable’s skull into the steel steps and then tosses him clear over the announcer’s table. The referee calls for the bell. Rusev just got disqualified.

Rusev defeats Chad Gable

Post-Match: Rusev continues the punishment on Chad Gable. He locks Gable into The Accolade on top of the announcer’s table. Gable taps out. Rusev enters the ring, still angry. He picks up a microphone and calls out “Randy….”

Randy Orton hits an RKO outta nowhere on The Bulgarian Brute. Rusev didn’t even finish saying his name. Orton poses for the crowd as his music plays throughout the arena.


AJ Styles wants to apologize to Shane McMahon

We see a clip from last week of AJ Styles Pele-kicking Shane O’Mac in the head. AJ is in the ring and wants to apologize to the SmackDown Live commissioner. Shane forgives him, but if Styles attacks him at SummerSlam then Shane will be forced to act.

Out comes Kevin Owens and wants to shake Shane’s hand. McMahon tells Owens he should be shaking AJ’s hand instead. But Owens ends up getting in AJ’s face. Shane gets between both men. Shane stops a punch from Styles and argues with “The Phenomenal One.”

Then outta nowhere, Kevin Owens hits a superkick. Styles moves out of the way, and Shane eats a big-time kick to the face.


The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) vs. The Usos

Ya boys, The New Day says that The Usos can “catch these hands” anywhere, at SummerSlam, tonight in Providence, and even in Westeros from the HBO show Game of Thrones. It’s doesn’t matter where, The New Day will still be your W-W-E Tag Team Chammmpppiiioooonnnsss!

Kofi Kingston starts off with hard kicks. Xavier Woods gets the tag and The New Days does a bunch of double-team drops. Kofi gets the tag and they’re laying the whoopin’ on The New Day. Kofi and Xavier perform consecutive baseball slide dropkicks. Xavier hits hard with a punch on the outside.

The Usos turn the tide, but Xavier Woods comes in hard with some seriously stiff kicks. The number one contenders dispose of Woods. Kofi looks ready to fight, but he get his leg taken out by the knee. The Usos hit a double-team superkick on Kingston for the win.

Fashion Peaks

Fandango warns Tyler Breeze that his future has “diabetes” in it if he eats that donut. Breeze drops the donut. The Ascension come outta nowhere, surprising Breeze who draws his squirt gun. The Ascension have come to return their pie from last week. Fandango finds hair and gluten in the pie. Viktor is outraged, saying that he’d never eat gluten. Fandango finds a mysterious note in the pie, with the words “Two B.”

Breezango will return in 25 years….I mean two weeks.


Jinder Mahal vs. John Cena

Jinder Mahal and John Cena tangle in a show of strength. Mahal overpowers Cena. The 16-time world champion is able to escape from Mahal’s grasp. But while the referee is distracted one of the Singh Brothers hit Cena in the head. Mahal follows up that cheap shot by picking Cena and throwing him out of the ring like a piece of trash. Mahal stands tall in the ring as we go to commercial break.

Mahal continues to kick ass as we return from the break. But Cena quickly turns the tide and drops Jinder on his ass several times. Cena hits Mahal with a five-knuckle-shuffle. The Singh Brothers drag Mahal out of the ring. Cena chases the WWE Champion around the ring. Mahal enters the ring and the Singh Brothers grab gold of Cena’s leg. The champion capitalizes and immediately attacks a disheveled Cena. The referee ejects The Singh Brothers from ringside.

The WWE Champion is absolutely distraught. Jinder turns around and Cena drops him and locks him in the STFU. Mahal grabs the bottom rope. Cena attempts an Attitude Adjustment, but Mahal wiggles through The champion turns the tide, pulls Cena’s neck down on the ropes and then following that up with a big-time knee to the face.

Jinder attempts the Khallas finishing move. Cena slides out, picks up Mahal and sends him sailing with an Attitude Adjustment. Cena goes for the pin. 1…2…kick out!

Cena hits an Attitude Adjustment from the top rope. He goes for the cover. 1….2….a blue suitcase breaks up the pin.

Jinder Mahal defeats John Cena via disqualification.

Post-Match: Baron Corbin appears as if he’s about to cash in his Money In The Bank contract. But he hits Cena in the head instead. Baron Corbin walks up the entrance ramp, looks down at his briefcase, and then runs down to the ring. Baron Corbin hands over his briefcase to the referee. Jinder attempts to recover while the referee calls for the bell.


WWE World Championship match: Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin hits John Cena who is struggling to stand on the corner. Cena falls down, and Mahal rolls up Corbin from behind for the quick win.

Jinder Mahal defeats Baron Corbin to retain the WWE World Championship

Post-Match: John Cena is smiling while a female fan flips him off at ringside. Baron Corbin is beside himself. Corbin is tearing up the announcer’s table. Equipment is flying everywhere. The Modern Day Maharaja is WWE World Champion for another day.
