Woooooo! Ric Flair is an iconic performer in pro wrestling; a man who styles, profiles, parties hard and wins world championships. Flair wrestled for over forty years, starting his career off in the NWA and ending his days in the WWE. “The Nature Boy” is the true definition of a living legend.

Sadly, Flair is currently hospitalized, as the lifestyle of wild partying and heavy drinking has done a number on the heart of this 16-time world champion. Flair has been placed into a medically-induced coma. While he attempts to recover from heart issues in the hospital, we should take a trip down memory lane with one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time…

Let’s take a look at slick Ric’s net worth after 16-world championships, forty decades in the game, and a bar tab that goes out the door…

Ric Flair Net Worth as of 2017: $5 Million

“The Nature Boy” has managed to hold onto $5 million. He’d probably have a lot more money if it wasn’t for his extravagant party lifestyle. Flair is particularly a pro wrestling deity. He’ll drink you under the table, steal your girl and your championship. Why? Because he’s the Nature Boy. That’s why. WOOOOOOOO!

Ric Flair wrestled his first match on December 10, 1972, in the American Wrestling Association. Flair spent a little time over in Japan and then returned to the states better than before. In Jim Crockett Promotions, he became “The Nature Boy” and quickly rose through the ranks. On September 17, 1981, Flair captured his very first (NWA) world championship against “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. Soon, Flair became the standard bearer for the National Wrestling Association.

Flair’s charismatic presence was unmatched in the NWA. He led his own group known as The Four Horseman who ran roughshod all over the southern wrestling scene. Flair racked up world title after world title with his henchmen by his side. With a little assistance from the Four Horseman, Flair became an  8-time NWA World Champion.

The Nature Boy’s success carried into WWE and WCW. He became a 2-time WWE World Champion and headlined the 1992 WrestleMania against “Macho Man” Randy Savage. In WCW, Flair’s career was even brighter, as he took home a total of six WCW World Heavyweight Championship reigns.

In WCW, Flair had legendary feuds with Sting, the New World Order, “Ravishing” Rick Rude, Curt “Mr. Perfect” Hennig, Hulk Hogan, and more. By the turn of the century, Flair was feuding with his son and still winning championships. In 2000, Flair won his last 2 world titles. On March 26, 2001, Flair wrestled Sting for WCW Nitro‘s very last match.

In November 2001, Flair moved onto the WWE. He made his Monday Night Raw debut surprisingly Vince McMahon and the WWE audience. Flair said that he bought half of the company, and this storyline would develop into the first WWE Brand Extension where Flair became the general manager of Raw.

Flair’s next major storyline was when he formed a partnership with “The Game” Triple H. Flair and Triple H were soon joined by Randy Orton and Batista, and together they became Evolution. This group wrecked havoc on Monday Nights. Flair stayed in this group until 2005 when he was left battered and bloody by his protégé Triple H.

Flair captured the WWE Intercontinental and Tag Team Championships during his final years with the WWE. However, Flair’s career began to die-down as he was featured less-prominently in storylines. In 2007, Flair told the audience that the next match he loses he’ll retire. At WrestleMania 24 (2008), Flair wrestled his very last match in the WWE against “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels. Ric Flair is the only person to become a 2-time WWE Hall of Famer. In 2008, he was inducted for his individual career and, then in 2012, the entire Four Horseman became inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame.

Despite that Ric Flair lost his retirement match against HBK, he returned to the ring, but not for WWE. In 2010, Flair signed onto Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). While signed with the Nashville-based company, Ric had bloody matches against his former foes Hulk Hogan and Mick Foley. Flair also became the manager of his own faction known as Fortune, alongside Beer Money Inc (Bobby Roode & James Storm), Frankie Kazarian, and “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles.

In 2012, Flair returned to the WWE. He never wrestled again, but he did act as manager for The Miz and his daughter Charlotte Flair. After seeing a similarly-aged colleague Jerry “The King” Lawler suffer a heart attack on WWE television, Flair decided to hang up his boots for good.

Ric Flair is an iconic force in the business of professional wrestling. Many fans, wrestlers and critics consider The Nature Boy to be one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time. Hopefully, he can recover from his serious heart issues. If not, heaven will never be the same. WOOOOOOOO!
