A top drug company CEO claimed to only be “looking for love” when he charged $5.8 million dollars on his company’s credit card. He bought his escort a mansion and much more with his firm’s charge card.
Scott Kennedy, 43, worked as CEO for the drug company Nemera. He was let go in March after the company became aware of Kennedy’s improper financial activity. Crystal Lundberg, 31, was Kennedy’s escort who he solicited services from eight to 10 times between 2012 and 2015.
In May 2015, Lundberg texted Kennedy, requesting money. But November of that year, Lundberg had moved into Kennedy’s house with her two children and pets.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Nemera has found 8,800 improper charges on the company credit card between November 2015 and mid-March 2017. These charges have been linked back to Kennedy and Lundberg. Kennedy allegedly gave his stay-at-home escort access to the company’s card, which resulted in 18 months of mega-spending.
What did this couple allegedly buy with the company’s card?
Lundberg and Kennedy went on ultra-expensive trips. They spent nearly $1 million traveling the world on vacation, visiting places from France to the South Pacific. The couple also allegedly raked up $600,000 worth of clothes on the company’s card. Lundberg also allegedly purchased plastic surgery for herself and a personal driver for children. The couple also allegedly purchased two Rolex watches, two pure-breed dog, and a maid for their home. The Royalty Room, a medical spa, received over half a million dollars. Scott Kennedy is also listed as the president of The Royalty Room, according to LinkedIn.
The couple moved into a 7,000-square-foot-mansion on Polvera Avenue in San Diego, California. The company’s credit card allegedly paid for the $12,000-a-month-rent.
Lundberg allegedly threatened Kennedy to give her more money or she’d begin seeing customers again.
Kennedy told the Chicago Tribune: “I wanted to be loved and cared for. My heart kind of overrid (sic) my head and said, ‘Take a chance.’ Well, it blew up in my face.”
Both Lundberg and Kennedy are under investigation for fraud and money laundering. However, no official criminal charge has yet been made against this couple.
