Al Gore has been an integral part of politics and environmental advocacy for the past few decades. He was vice president under Bill Clinton, almost president in 2000 and now he is a leader in the fight against global warming. Gore was re-elected to the senate in 1990, but resigned his position in 1993 to serve as the Vice President to Bill Clinton.

Al Gore served as vice president from 1992-2000. As vice president, Gore took up a mission of environmental activism and advocacy. He was a lead delegate in the “Earth Summit,” in 1992 and a major force in the Kyoto Protocol in 1997. Also while in office, Gore promoted the development of low-emission vehicles, began the GLOBE program which focused on education and set the groundwork for the DSCOVR satellite.
