Obdulia Sanchez, an 18-year-old woman from Stockon, California, has been arrested after crashing her car and killing her 14-year-old sister.
Sanchez, 18, of Stockton, is accused of driving under the influence during the deadly crash in Los Banos, California on Friday, July 21st. She also live streamed the accident on Instagram.
Her younger sister, 14-year-old Jacqueline Sanchez, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are now looking into the live Instagram footage that shows Obdulia talking to the camera as she drives. The footage appears to show the moment the car rolled over a barbed wire fence and into a nearby field. Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke confirmed that Jacqueline was not wearing her seatbelt when the car crashed and rolled on Henry Miller Road.
After the incident, Obdulia Sanchez was booked into the Merced County Jail on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

The California Highway Patrol said Sanchez was driving a Buick Century when it veered onto the right shoulder of a road. She over-corrected the turn, which caused the vehicle to swerve across lanes, crash through a wire fence and overturn into a field.
Relatives confirmed to KFSN-TV that Sanchez filmed a video before, during and after the crash that was posted on Instagram. “I killed my sister, but I don’t care,” Obdulia said on Instagran. “I killed my sister. I know I’m going to prison, but I don’t care. I’m sorry baby. I’m a hold it down.”
The Instagram post ends with her kneeling next to her dead sister. A recording of the livestream shows Obdulia shaking the girl after the crash and saying she was sorry.
Obdulia is being held on vehicular manslaughter while under the influence and DUI charges in the Merced County Jail. She is expected to make her first court appearance on Wednesday, July 26.
Sanchez’s family created a GoFundMe Page for Jacqueline’s funeral expenses.
