3rd Grade Teacher Arrested On Suspicion Of Selling Cocaine, Should Have Just Become An Uber Driver

Heather K. Jones, a 48-year-old third-grade teacher at a Wichita elementary school, was arrested on suspicion of being a drug dealer on Tuesday, July 11.

According to Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Lt. Lin Dehning, Jones, 48, was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail shortly before 10:30 PM on Tuesday. She was arrested on suspicion of seven counts of cocaine distribution.

Police say the arrest was the culmination of a two-month investigation by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.

Furthermore, Dehning said that Jones is employed by USD 259. The website for Enders Open Magnet Elementary School lists her as a third-grade teacher there.

She is currently being held on $57,500 bond. Authorities said that no other suspects are being sought in connection with the investigation.

Detectives plan to present evidence in the case to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office on Thursday.
