Judy Greer is one of those actresses you may not know by name, but you definitely know by face. She’s a, “Ohhh, her!” type of actress; someone who has been in everything and has a damn impressive career without ever skyrocketing to A-list fame. Trust me, you recognize her form a bunch of stuff.
She voices Cheryl Tunt in Archer (there’s an “Aha” realization for you), she played Paul Rudd’s ex-wife in Ant-Man, Bryce Dallas Howard’s sister in Jurassic World and has played Caesar’s wife in the Planet of the Apes movies. And that’s only in the last few years. Her filmography boasts a staggering 117 credits, meaning Greer has seen it all in Hollywood.
Greer made her professional debut in 1997 and scored small film roles in What Women Want (2000) and The Wedding Planner (2001). Her first real break came when she was cast in a recurring guest role in the critically acclaimed Fox comedy Arrested Development. In an interview from August 2009, she said that this is her most recognized role. Go figure.
Greer is also known for her role as Ingrid Nelson/Fatty Magoo on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Trixie on Californication and her many, many film roles (did I mentioned her 117 credits!).
So, yeah, if you’re looking for a veteran actress who is well-versed in both comedy and drama, look no further than Greer. She can hold it down and she just so happens to be very attractive. Look out for her in War for the Planet of the Apes.
