Police say they have identified the man they found dead at the College of William & Mary.
According to College of William and Mary spokeswoman Suzanne Seurattan, 54-year-old Lonnie E. Dove was found dead on the grounds of the Dillard Complex on Friday, July 7. Authorities say foul play is not suspected, but the medical examiner has yet to determine the exact cause of death
As our police chief indicated in a message this weekend, we know this is a difficult time for the family and our thoughts go out to them,” said college spokesperson Suzanne Seurattan.
William & Marry campus police began a death investigation after Dove’s body was found by a passer-by around 8 PM on July 7 near Ironbound Road in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Furthermore, a William & Mary representative told the media that Dove’s family had been notified of the death. The university expressed condolences to his loved ones on behalf of the school’s police department.
Williamsburg Police spokesman Major Greg Riley said that the university’s police department is heading up the investigation.
