An Andrews Air Force Base helicopter has made an emergency landing in Montgomery County, authorities say.
What Happened?
The emergency landing was made at the Lee Jordan Field in the Takoma Park area shortly before 10:00 A.M. local time.
Authorities are saying the emergency landing was prompted by maintenance issues.
No injuries have been reported.
In April, an F-16C fighter jet that took off from Joint Base Andrews during a routine training mission suffered a mechanical issue and went down into a wooded area in Clinton, Maryland. The District of Columbia Air National Guard pilot ejected from the jet. No one on the ground was injured in that incident.

Joint Base Andrews is a United States military facility located in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The facility is under the jurisdiction of the United States Air Force 11th Wing, Air Force District of Washington. It was built in 1945 and has been in active use ever since.
The base is named for Lieutenant General Frank Maxwell Andrews (1884-1943), former Commanding General of the United States Armed Forces in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. The base is arguably best known for serving as the home base of two Boeing VC-25 aircraft which have the call sign Air Force One while the President of the United States i on board.
