The lower level of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport has been evacuated due to a suspicious package, according to Austin Police.

UPDATE: The all clear has been given at Austin Airport and normal operations have resumed.

What Happened?

A suspicious package was reportedly found in the baggage claim terminals, prompting the evacuation. However, it is not clear if the package was found inside the airport or outside in the passenger pick-up area.

The call came into police around 10:40 A.M. local time. The evacuation is a precautionary measure.

Bomb squads are headed to the scene to investigate.

No further details were immediately available.
