Ever since the first episode surprisingly dropped on April Fool’s Day, fans have been itching for word of when the third season would finally drop. Well, after a live stream event on Thursday night, the Rick and Morty faithful got their long awaited answer.
And not only did fans find out when their (likely) favorite cartoon would be returning to air, but they got the first trailer for season 3 as well.
While the show was certainly a cult hit in it’s first two seasons, it’s boomed into pop culture over the last year, so it looks like the creators have brought the third season to a whole new level.
If that trailer is indication, this season is going to be the funniest, most bizarre, and yes, darkest season yet.
But in all likelihood, no matter what form the third season arrives in, it will stil be the funniest show on television.
