Former Green Bay Packers running back Ahman Green, 40, has been arrested in Wisconsin following an allegation of child abuse. He was booked early Monday morning for an alleged incident on Sunday evening.
What Happened?
The Green Bay Press-Gazette‘s Paul Srubas reports that the Brown County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Green was arrested and taken to the county jail. Per the website for the jail, Green has been charged with Child Abuse-Intentionally Cause Harm/Cruelty toward Child. The charge carries a maximum sentence of six years in prison if convicted.
A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Department told TMZ…”We had contact with Mr. Green on Sunday June 25th at 11:30 p.m. He was arrested for physical abuse of a child in a family related incident.”
“The referral has been made to the Brown County District Attorney’s Office and any additional requests will need to be made to them as we cannot comment on pending cases.”
According to TMZ, Green is being held without bond until he goes in front of a judge
The authorities have also said that they are further investigating the matter, but did not disclose any other details regarding the reasons for Green’s arrest.

Ahman Greed played for the Green Bay Packers from 2000-06 and returned to the team in 2009, his final year in the NFL. Green, who also played for the Seahawks and Texans, remains the leading rusher in franchise history.
Green, a four-time Pro Bowler and NFC Offensive Player of the Year (2003), amassed 9,205 yards, 60 rushing touchdowns and a 4.5 yards-per-carry average during his NFL career.
