Max Germain, a 22-year-old Georgia Tech Student, suffered a traumatic brain injury in a bike accident on campus.,

Germain, who was riding his bike on campus on Friday, June 23, when he was struck by a motor vehicle, suffering a severe traumatic brain injury.

According to his fundraising page, he underwent emergency surgery at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, to remove a bone flap on his skull to relieve pressure on the brain, and is currently in a medically induced coma to allow his brain time to heal.

Once he has reached a certain point of recovery, he will be begin the arduous journey of rehabilitation (both in and out patient).  The flap will be replaced in a couple of months. Each brain injury is unique and the lifetime medical costs can be unimaginable. Many costs are not covered by insurance.

Anybody who knows the Germain family is aware what a kind, loving and giving family they are, constantly giving to our community.  In fact, Max’s parents spearheaded a major fundraiser for my daughter when she suffered a TBI in 2013.

I have set this fundraiser up in coordination with his parents and I ask you all to consider donating.  No amount is too small.  All funds received will go directly into a bank account set up specifically for medical expenses. Thank you all in advance for any support you may be able to provide.  We ask you to hold Max and his family up in prayer and thoughts, asking for perfect healing.

A YouCaring page was set up to support Max and his family, which you can find here.
