Brian Cant, the famous children’s presenter and host of Play School and Play Away, has passed away. He was 83.

A statement from the family said: “He lived courageously with Parkinson’s disease for a long time.”
He died at Denville Hall, a retirement home often used by those in the entertainment industry.
Career
Cant starred on Play School for 21 of its 24-year run. The show was one of the BBC’s most popular children’s programs and ran from 1964 well into the 1980s. The series was aimed at pre-school children. Cant later worked on other BBC programs such as Play Away and Bric-A-Brac.
The statement from his family continued: “Brian was best known and well-loved for his children’s programmes Play School and Play Away and was honoured by Bafta in 2010.
“Donations would be most appreciated to Denville Hall and the Actors’ Benevolent Fund.”
