Every year, major gaming companies spill the beans about upcoming titles before their releases during the E3 Press Conferences, and this year, Microsoft came forward with lots of trailers and sneak previews for upcoming Xbox games. Titles like Anthem and Assassin’s Creed: Origins shook up the scene and helped make Microsoft’s presentation one of the best at E3.

Here are five of the best game showings from their showcase:

#5: Middle-earth: Shadow of War

Release Date: October 10, 2017
Developer: Monolith Productions
Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment

Having beat Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, the trailer showed me that Mololith Productions wasn’t ready to end Talion’s adventures just yet. I didn’t like that Microsoft showcased the game’s DLC before its commercial release though.

#4: State of Decay 2

Release Date: 2018
Developer: Undead Labs LLC.
Publisher: Microsoft Studios

The sequel to the much-loved IP State of Decay touched the hearts of zombie apocalypse lovers at E3 with an emotional and disconcerting trailer that showed the formation of a small civilization in its efforts to survive the onslaught of flesh-eating monsters. Worth keeping an eye out for.

#3: Anthem

Release Date: Q4 2018
Developer: BioWare
Publisher: Electronic Arts

Anthem looked way too good to be true. The new IP showed off excellent graphics and facial animations, colorful environments and a promising storyline. The showing featured select gameplay footage from the beginning of the game to show an assortment of cool features, including the different “Javelin” exo-suits. My favorite part of the playthrough was flying using the Javelin’s jet-packs.

#2: Crackdown 3

Release Date: November 7, 2017
Developer: Reagent Games, Sumo Digital, Cloudgine
Publisher: Microsoft Studios

The award-winning Crackdown series continues its legacy with another addition to its crazy, open-world franchise. This time, a new multiplayer mode and better controls and movements were added to amp up the chaotic world.

#1: Assassin’s Creed: Origins

Release Date: October 27, 2017
Developer: Ubisoft
Publisher: Microsoft Studios

The presentation of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Origins was filled with gameplay footage and a new trailer. Some gameplay footage featured a huge assortment of new toys to play with, including a hooked khopesh, shields, polearms and bow and arrows. If you like to splurge on hot special editions, Ubisoft is offering six different versions of the game, including a collector’s edition worth $800. Only 999 of these will be sold.
