After a dominant Game 3 performance by the Nashville Predators, the home town team rallied once again and won Game 4 decisively. Most notably, Predators goalie Pekka Rinne has looked every bit like the formidable brick wall that has been nearly impenetrable throughout the playoffs on his home ice. While the Pittsburgh Penguins have more superstars and a fantastic goalie of their own in Matt Murray, the scrappy Predators have played with a physical gusto that has simply baffled the speedy Penguins.
For Nashville to persevere in Game 5 in Pittsburgh, they will need ample contributions from every line up and Rinne will have to prove that he can be just as effective on the road as he is at home. Beyond that, the face off battle between these two teams will be vital in determining who wins this pivotal Game 5. While the Penguins have the advantage in this regard, the Predators have done a fantastic job at using their fearless physicality to keep this swift Penguins squad off-balance.
With the home crowd behind them, Pittsburgh will look to score quickly and often to keep the tough-minded Predators from rallying in late game situations as they have done in their last two wins. Given how contentious and brutal these first four games have been, Game 5 should continue to increase the tension and excitement for both the Pittsburgh and Nashville faithful come Thursday night.
