Alex Rodriguez is reportedly being blackmailed by an ex-girlfriend. According to TMZ, a woman the former baseball star, 41, dated in 2014 is demanding $600,000 from A-Rod, otherwise she will release private text messages.

According to the report, Rodriguez, who is now dating Jennifer Lopez, was not in a serious relationship with the woman but she has continued to reach out to him over the last three years.
TMZ reports that the woman increased her financial demands once Rodriguez began dating Lopez earlier this year. In the last week she demanded $600,000 or else she would contact media outlets and share the private messages.
A source told the site that the woman “intended to release old texts with Alex from when they were dating, and make it seem like he was still contacting her while dating Jennifer.”
Rodriguez has reportedly told the ex that he will not pay and is now in a “committed” relationship with Lopez. He has also told his legal team who are prepared to go to the authorities if the threats continue. Lopez is said to be supporting Rodriguez through the incident and “empathizes having gone through similar situations in the past,” according to TMZ.
Lopez and Rodriguez have been dating since February after she ended things with backup dancer Casper Smart.
