Bray Wyatt kicks off Monday Night Raw

Wyatt begins this week’s edition of Raw. The arena lights have dimmed down to a spotlight in the center of the ring as Wyatt’s fireflies light up the rest of the arena with their cellphone. Bray is ready to defeat all four of his competitors at Extreme Rules and then go on to “The Beast” Brock Lesnar. “Only Bray Wyatt can slay the beast, I say stand up!”

Bray mentions that there’s a wrestler who claims this ring to be his yard. Roman Reigns’ music hits and he’s meet with his usual chorus of boos. Reigns and Wyatt spare verbally. “The Eater of Worlds” is convinced that he is the only man in the world who can conquer “The Beast.” But Roman Reigns doesn’t even think Wyatt can make it through the fatal-5-way match at Extreme Rules.

Raw General Manager Kurt Angle came out to announce Reigns vs. Wyatt for tonight, and oh, it’s next! It’s true! It’s damn true!

Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt

Reigns and Wyatt go back-and-forth with shots. Reigns still looks hurt from his encounters with the now-injured Braun Strowman. But “The Big Dog” still manages to take the fight to “The Eater of Worlds” even though it’s obvious that he isn’t 100 percent.

Wyatt flips upside down like a spider to try and get inside Roman’s head. Bray tries a Sister Abagail, but eats a boot instead. Wyatt manages to come back with the Uranage suplex.

Reigns tries to turn it around, but Wyatt throws his body into The Big Dog. Both competitors are down. Samoa Joe’s music hits and “The Samoan Submission Machine” has just entered the equation. He surveys the scene and decides to lock Roman Reigns in Coquina Clutch

Post-match: Reigns breaks free and Wyatt goes on the attack. Samoa Joe sneaks up from behind and slaps in the Coquina Clutch on Bray Wyatt. Seth Rollins’ music hits and he cleans house in the ring. The Architect stands tall.

Kurt Angle is the new Teddy Long

Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are talking backstage. They both look visibly tired. Kurt Angle intervenes once again and announces a tag team main event for later tonight. It’ll be the team of Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe and Bray Wyatt.

Elias Samson is also creeping behind them in the shadows. Angle makes a match for him as well, against “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose

Akira Tozawa vs. Ariya Daivari

If you went for a bathroom break, you probably just missed this match. Tozawa really kicked ass in this match. Daivari managed to receive some layer of offense, but this match was mostly written to put over Akira. We saw The Brian Kendrick watch this match backstage and he claims to be unimpressed.

Tozawa finishes the match as he ascends the top ropes and falls down hard back-first on his opponent.

Dean Ambrose vs. Elias Samson

Samson plays the guitar and sings a tune before the match as the crowd boos. But damn, I didn’t expect Elias to kick Dean’s ass for almost the entire match. Samson starts off the match by slapping Ambrose into a headlock. Ambrose seems like a fish out of water against Samson who knocks him to the mat with a running knee to the head.

Back from the break, and Samson has Ambrose trapped in another headlock. But “The Lunatic Fringe” is able to rally back with a neckbreaker and a clothesline. Ambrose is clearly shaken by Samson’s surprising offense. Elias is really kicking ass and quickly regains control. We see another running knee from the guitar-playing drifter.

Both men are laid out in the ring when The Miz runs down and interjects himself in this match. He decides to hit Samson to make sure his opponent at Extreme Rules gets disqualified.

Enzo Amore is laid out backstage

Big Cass is upset. He’s leading the camera to Enzo, who is lying on the ground surrounded by concerned officials.

Finn Balor is interrupted

Balor is speaking in the ring, but he gets interrupted by Paul Heyman! Paul says Lesnar will make Reigns just another victim if The Big Dog wins, but Heyman’s more interested in the idea of Balor vs. Lesnar. Balor is glad to see Heyman, but he would much rather see Brock Lesnar. Finn has a message he wants passed onto The Beast Incarnate, tell him that “Finn Balor will beat Brock Lesnar.”

Finn Balor vs. Karl Anderson

We’re back from the break and Anderson has Finn locked in an arm bar. For much of the match, Anderson dominated and Luke Gallows got involved whenever he could when the referee was distracted. But Finn fought back..and won! A Sling Blade and a Coup de grace is all Finn needs to put away Anderson.

Finn Balor defeats Karl Anderson

Alicia Fox vs. Sasha Banks

Banks gains a measure of retribution in this match. Noam Dar is distracting, which almost cost The Boss the match. Alicia looks primed for victory, but Sasha is way too resilient. Banks hits the double knees on Fox for the win.

Sasha Banks defeats Alicia Fox

Post-match: Sasha and Dar argue. Banks drops the “Scottish Supernova.” Alicia Fox comes in to help out her boyfriend. Fox takes out Sasha with a sick scissor-kick to her spine.

The Golden Age is back!

We see a promo of Goldust in a director’s chair. He says that “The Golden Age is back.” I’m loving this revival of the villainous version of Goldust.

Kalisto vs. Apollo Crews

Before the match in the backstage area, Kalisto asked Crews if he was the one who attacked Enzo. This acquisition upset Crews and the Titus Brand.

Crews and Kalisto trade shots. The smaller luchador is dominating the much-larger athlete. He tosses Crews out of the ring with a headscissors. After some more back and forth action, Kalisto puts away Crews with the Salida Del Sol.

Matt Hardy vs. Sheamus – winner determines the stipulation for the tag team match at Extreme Rules

Matt starts the match with a headlock on Sheamus. But the Celtic Warrior comes back with a shoulder tackle. Sheamus avoids a Twist of Fate and takes a breather by the corner and then executes a European uppercut on Hardy. More uppercuts on the “Baron of Broken Brillance” Matt Hardy.

Sheamus sails across the ring onto Matt with a flying clothesline. But then the Celtic Warrior runs right into a boot and Hardy regains control. Matt attacks Sheamus into the corner as the crowd chants “Delete! Delete! Delete!  Matt smacks Sheamus’ noggin into the turnbuckle. But after a distraction, Sheamus regains control.

We’re back from the break and Sheamus is still in control. The Celtic Warrior’s offense is almost lethal. But Matt takes advantage of a distraction from the brawling outside the ring. Matt hits a Twist of Fate in the dead center of the ring.

Matt Hardy defeats Sheamus

Post-match: Matt Hardy announces the stipulation for the tag team match at Extreme Rules. The Hardy Boyz will wrestle Sheamus & Cesaro in a cage match! Yeeeesssssssss!

Austin Aries vs. Tony Nese

Aries controlls much of this match. He’s a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion for a reason. Austin Aries calls himself “The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived.” Well, tonight, he is better than “The Premiere Athlete” Tony Nese.

Nese gains a margin level of offense, but Aries is obviously the superior wrestler. Aries locks in The Last Chancery, and that’s it for Nese.

Austin Aries defeats Tony Nese via submission

Post-match: Neville attacks Tony Nese. He grabs him by his hair and then locks his body in the Rings of Saturn. The King of the Cruiserweights is staring down Aries while he has Nese locked in the submission. Austin Aries claps.

Mickie James vs. Alexa Bliss

James comes at Alexa like a bolt of lightning. Mickie completely dominates the Raw Women’s Champion. Mickie’s kicks are near lethal to the smaller Bliss. But one stiff forearm DDT combo later and Mickie James is laid out for the 3 count.

Alexa Bliss defeats Mickie James

Main Event: Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor & Samoa Joe

The action spills to the outside with Rollins and Wyatt early into the match. Seth catapults Bray into the barrier and then immediately attacks his foe Samoa Joe. Rollins redirects his attention at Wyatt, but Joe distracts “The Architect,” and Rollins’goes face first into the barricade.

We’re back from the break, and Roman Reigns gets the hot tag from Rollins. Reigns attempts a Superman Punch on “The Eater of Worlds,” but Wyatt foresees this move and flips upside like a spider to taunt Roman. Joe knocks down the distracted Reigns and Wyatt picks the bones. Joe sends The Big Dog crashing into the barricade.
