In the midst of the most tumultuous week of his Presidency (which is hilarious, given that it’s only been a couple of months), Donald Trump gave the commencement speech at the Connecticut Coast Guard Academy graduation ceremony, and naturally, he used it as an opportunity to defend, gloat, bloviate, and blast. In essence, it was a typical Donald Trump speech.
Speaking at this year’s Coast Guard commencement address in New London, Connecticut, Trump took the time to brag about his own administration and defend himself from his latest mishaps. He went so far as to say that “no politician in history, and I say this with great surety, has been treated worse or more unfairly.’
“You can’t let them get you down. You can’t let the critics and the naysayers get in the way of your dreams. I guess that’s why I won,” he said.

Trump used the rest of his speech to opine about his border wall, the ‘great healthcare’ bill his party is working on, and the large tax cuts he’s been promising, having earlier bragged that aircraft carriers would be built ‘under budget and ahead of schedule’ in his administration.
“I’ve loosened up the strangling environmental chains wrapped around our country and our economy, chains so tight that you couldn’t do anything, that jobs were going down, we were losing business. We are loosening it up.”
‘We’ve begun plans and preparations for the border wall, which is going along very, very well.’
The speech comes in during Trump’s most controversial week as President. Between the firing of James Comey and his leaking of intelligence to Russian Officials, Trump’s approval rating currently sits at 38%.
In fact, things have gotten so dire for Trump that US Congressman are now calling for his impeachment, as Texas Congressman Al Green did in a formal announcement.
At this point, it seriously wouldn’t surprise me if Donnie Freedom didn’t make it through his first year.
