WWE SmackDown Live Results

Stick around for live updates from tonight’s show. Refresh the page and find out…

Kevin Owens kicks off SmackDown Live with his own Highlight Reel

KO is still talking trash about Jericho. He deleted Y2J from competition, and we won’t see Jericho for a long, long time (maybe not ever). We see a clip of Owens destroying Jericho.

Owens introduces his first guest of the evening in French. That guest is AJ Styles. Styles says that KO stole Jericho’s thunder all year, and now he’s stealing his show. KO says that AJ isn’t even the guest. “My bad, I didn’t do well in high school French,” says AJ.

The true guest of the Highlight Reel, Jinder Mahal comes out. He shows a clip of last week’s main event when he vanquished “The Viper” Randy Orton. Styles says that Mahal needs to be thinking about tonight’s match. Mahal says that “in order to find yourself, first you myself lose yourself.” And when Mahal wins the WWE Championship, the fans will learn to bow to “The Maharadja’s feet.”

Kevin Owens says, “tonight, you’re going to lose to Jinder, but on Sunday, you’re going to lose to me.”

AJ Styles isn’t going to take KO’s sh*t and chases him out of the ring. AJ wants a fight. That match between Mahal and Styles will happen next!

AJ Styles vs. Jinder Mahal

Jinder Mahal is absolutely kicking ass in this contest. The Singh Brother provide that slight distraction, but Mahal brings the intensity. He backs AJ into the corner to start off the match. He smacks AJ in the mouth with his knee. AJ tries to fight up, but Jinder is way too powerful to the smaller Styles. He whips Styles into the turnbuckle, but AJ kicks out.

If you would have told me two months ago, the position Mahal was in, I’d think you were joking. He’s went from the lower card to dominating the best from the main event.

Jinder props AJ on the top rope, but Styles wriggles free. Styles seems well in control, but runs right into Mahal’s foot. Jinder climbs the top rope and jumps into a drop kick.

AJ brings to regain ground and fires back with an insane Pele kick. AJ is like a wild-man with his offense. He smacks Jinder with his forearm and has the #1 contender dazed. AJ sets up Mahal with the Phenomenal forearm, but The Singh Brothers distract the referee long enough for Kevin Owens to hit Styles from behind with his U.S. Championship.

Mahal capitalizes and hits Styles with The Coloss.

The Fashion Files: Tyler Breeze goes undercover

Breezango vs. The Colons

Tyler Breeze makes The Colons collide, but the athletes from Puerto Rico quickly regained ground. Epico takes down Tyler and goes for the pinfall. But “Prince Pretty” kicks out. Primo gets the tag and The Colons double-team the vulnerable Breeze. Primo smacks Tyler with his knee and then slaps on the submission. Breeze tries to rally back, but eats a clothesline instead.

Primo slings Breeze into the corner and charges like Rhyno, but fails miserably. Fandango and Epico get the hot tag. Fandango is kicking ass, knocking down his opponent with a spin kick. Fandango goes for the cover, but Primo breaks things up. Primo knocks Breeze to the outside. But that didn’t help matters, as Fandango drops Epico with a Falcon Arrow.

The New Day are coming soon!

Contract Signing for Six-Woman Tag Team Match at Backlash

The tandem of Carmella, Tamina Snuka, Natalya, and James Ellsworth are out first. They talk their usual trash. Nattie imitates her uncle Bret Hart’s catch phrase in claiming to be “The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.”

The team of Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and the WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi are out next. “The Queen” Charlotte says that she’s going to conquer the opposing team this Sunday, and then she’ll be coming after her crown: Naomi’s championship. Naomi welcomes that future challenge. Ms. Glow also says that she’s going to “snatch” all of her opponents “bald” at Backlash.

Shane McMahon is about to conclude this segment, but oh wait. “The Chinless Wonder” James Ellsworth has something important to say! He’s seen the way Becky Lynch has been looking at him. But she has not chance with Ellsworth. He doesn’t mean to put out her straight fire. And oh, Charlotte, I know you’re looking for a king by your side, but it won’t be Ellsworth. He’s a prince who belongs with “The Princess of Staten Island” Carmella. And Naomi can flap her gums all she wants, but it’ll only be a matter of time before Carmella takes away her title.

Naomi has enough of Ellsworth’s sh*t and grabs that little runt by the shirt. Carmella intervenes and knocks Ms. Glow down. Charlotte and Becky hold down an enraged women’s champion. Shane makes the match between Carmella and Naomi coming up next!

Naomi vs. Carmella

Naomi controlled the early goings of this match. Carmella tries to protect herself with the ropes, but Naomi keeps on fighting (even when the referee tells her to stop). Naomi hits a flurry of offense and sends the Princess of Staten Island flying with a bulldog into the turnbuckle.

Ms. Glow is in such control that James Ellsworth pulls his “girl friend” away from trouble. The referee ejects Ellsworth as the crowd cheers. Naomi is back in control when we get back from the commercial break. Naomi is using those buns as a weapon against Carmella. Her trash-talking Carmella opponent tries to escape, but only suckers in Naomi for an incredible superkick.

Carmella hits a Bronco Buster on Naomi and goes for a pin. Naomi kicks out, but gets trapped in a headlock.

Naomi makes a huge comeback, knocking out Carmella with a neckbreaker and a flurry of kicks. But things starting breaking down at ringside, Becky and Charlotte brawl with Nattie and Tamina. Naomi gets involved and knocks down Tamina with a kick to the back. Carmella capitalizes on this distraction and rolls-up the SmackDown Women’s Champion

Sami Zayn Backstage Interview

Sami has an announcement. He’ll be facing off against Baron Corbin this Sunday at Backlash…but then Corbin attacks Sami from behind. Baron beats Sami on the floor, grabs him by the shirt and tells him if he shows up this Sunday, he’ll be destroyed.

Randy Orton vs. Baron Corbin

Orton and Corbin lock up to start off the match. Randy gains control and traps Baron in a headlock. Corbin fights out, but ends up in the very same hold once more. Randy tries an RKO right off the bat, but Corbin blocks the maneuver. They tangle in the corner and Baron strikes Orton in the neck. Corbin mashes his knee in Randy’s mid-section. Orton counters and sends Baron flying with a body slam. Now, Orton is stomping away on his opponent. Corbin escapes, run in-and-out of the ring, and executes a flawless clothesline on Orton. Corbin goes for the cover, but Randy kicks out at 2. Baron talks trash as we fade away into commercials.

We’re back from the break, and Corbin is as dominant as ever. He whips Orton into the corner and gives us a whole new meaning of the term “backlash.” Baron continues to talk trash and beat down his opponent into the corner.

Orton tries to mount a comeback, but Corbin is way too controlling. Ever time Randy tries to rally back, he gets knocked back down by Baron. All the way, Corbin is still talking trash and posses to the jeering crowd. But his cockiness may have just gotten the best of Corbin as he charges Randy in the corner, who then moves out of the way allowing Corbin to crash into the ring-post.

Randy is now solidly in control. He hits a flurry of offense, from a clothesline to a power-slam to a second-rope draping DDT. Now, Orton is the one being cocky as he poses for his cheering fans. Orton attempts an RKO, but Corbin blocks and eats an elbow. Randy, on the other hand, gets wrecked by Baron’s Deep Six for a count of 2. Corbin runs back in-and-out of the ring, perhaps thinking about hitting Orton with another sick clothesline. But Baron gets annihilated via an RKO.

Randy Orton defeats Baron Corbin

Post-match: Jinder Mahal comes out after the match. Jinder advises Orton to savor his time as WWE Champion. The challenger tells Orton that he will “destroy his (Orton’s) pride, his body and his future on Sunday.” Randy is totally distracted when The Singh Brother rush the ring from behind and assault the champion. Orton fights back and gains control, going for a double draping DDT on The Singh Brothers. But Mahal hits the ring and all three men attack The Viper. Jinder takes out Randy with his finisher The Coloss. Mahal stands tall with the WWE Championship as SmackDown Live goes off the air.
