The series is tied as we head back to Washington for game seven between the Capitals and the Penguins. The Caps were able to pull out a big win in game six to keep their postseason alive, while the Penguins now have to face the possibility of not making it to the third round. One team will be on their way to the conference finals while the other will go home empty-handed, so be prepared for an action-packed game seven.
The Capitals’ prospects were looking bleak after game four as the Penguins increased their series lead 3-1. Pittsburgh was only a win away from knocking out Washington, but this team prevailed. Being associated with choking in the playoffs is never fun, so the Capitals are looking to brush off their old demons. It has been twenty years since the last time Washington graced the finals, so this team is hungry for another go. There is no point in working your butt off to tie up the series only to go home with another failed season, so the Capitals will try to bring it in game seven.
The Warriors gave up a 3-1 lead, the Indians gave up a 3-1 lead, and the Falcons gave up a 28-3 lead, so the Penguins should take some solace in not being the first team to blow a lead. Pittsburgh fans should not be too down in the dumps. They still have a great team and a big possibility to win tonight’s game. They still have last year’s Stanley Cup win to revel in. Sidney Crosby did not seem to be back at full power in game six, but I feel he’ll be back up and running at max for game seven. This team still has a lot of hockey left to play and their dream of getting back to back Cups will help drive them through this game.
Game sevens don’t happen all the time, so you definitely want to watch them when they are on. Check below to see all your viewing options for this NHL 2017 Matchup.
