If you’re a dude (or a chick, don’t worry, I’m woke on gender equality) between the ages of, I don’t know, maybe 18 and 30 years old, then at one point or another, Rob & Big, was your shit.
What made Rob & Big good was that it was just two buddies living the dream: having money, living with your best friend, goofing around for a living. But what made Rob & Big great was the contrast of Dyrdek and Boykin.
Boykin was about 200 pounds bigger and 50 Shades Darker, yet they were as close as fraternal twins who had grown up together their whole lives. And even through the television screen, you could tell how genuine their friendship was.
They weren’t pretending for a persona or a paycheck — they genuinely loved each other. They were best friends.
So you knew when Dyrdek heard the news of Boykin’s passing, he was going to take it as hard as anyone on earth. And he did.
