A little over a month ago, a young, hustling gun named Carter Wilkerson hit up whoever was running the fire Wendy’s Twitter (Wendy’s has been on a social media hot streak for quite some time), asking how many retweets it would take for him to get free chicken nuggets for a year.
The answer was simply, yet basically impossible: 18 million retweets.
That was on April 5. Now, today, May 9, Wendy’s has made it official: With over 3 million retweets, Carter has earned himself his free nuggets.
Just goes to show that in the age of virality and social media, you really do need to just shoot your shot and hope for the best. Who knows — you may end up with a year worth of free chicken nuggets.
