Dean Ambrose Kicks Off Raw

Dean Ambrose starts off tonight’s edition of Monday Night Raw. He informs the audience that Kurt Angle will not be present this evening, so The Lunatic Fringe has been named as the new general manager for the night.

The Miz and his lovely wife Maryse make their way down to the ring. Miz informs Ambrose and the audience that Stephanie McMahon called him, and made the decision to make The Miz the co-general manager of the night alongside Ambrose. You can’t let The Lunatic run the asylum by himself.

Miz and Ambrose are still pissed at each other. But Dean extends the olive branch and tries to shake The Miz’ hand, but then…

Out comes “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman. He says he doesn’t care whose in charge. He’s still going to get what he wants. When Roman Reigns comes back, he’ll end The Guy for good. And after that, he wants Brock Lesnar. The crowd chants “YES.”

Braun continues to talk, but gets cut off by Kalisto’s theme music. Kalisto says, “You may not be done with Roman Reigns, but Braun, I ain’t done with you. Let me refresh your memory of what happened in the Dumpster Match. I bet you. And you still couldn’t take it like a man….Nobody treats me like garbage. I want a match, tonight!”

“You beat me on a technicality little man,” says Braun. “I crushed you like a little bear can.”

But Braun’s arm is in a sling. Strowman doesn’t think he can compete, but if he could he’d be able to beat Kalisto with one arm. So, Dean makes the match, and Braun doesn’t look too happy.

The Miz wonders what else is up The Lunatic Fringe’s sleeve. It’s nothing crazy…just The Miz verses “The Demon King” Finn Balor.

The Miz vs. Finn Balor

The Demon King’s entrance is epic as always. Finn is absolutely mopping the floor with The Hollywood A-Lister. Balor is knocking Miz senseless with his fast-paced maneuvers and devastatingly sick kicks. The Miz is reeling, ducking outside the ring next to his wife, as we go to commercial break.

We’re back from the break, and now The Miz is the one who is kicking ass. Miz has Balor grounded. We see a clip, showing Finn chasing Miz around the ring, and The Miz knocking Balor off the ring apron. The Hollywood A-Lister is in complete control of Balor.

The Demon King tries to fight back, but the veteran Miz knocks him back down. The Miz has stiff knees and kicks of his own. Miz gets Balor in a headlock. Finn rallies back, but eats a kick. But The Miz eats an even harder kick.

Balor is back with a flurry of offense. Finn is beating The Miz in-and-out of the ring. He almost kicked his head off. Corey Graves says, “that kick may be catastrophic for The Miz’s acting career.”

Finn is about to put away Miz, but Maryse climbs up on the ring apron and distracts The Demon King. The Miz exits the ring, and grabs a microphone. He informs the referee that performers should not put their hands on acting officials, so you must disqualify Finn Balor. The referee calls for the bell.

Re-start: Finn Balor vs. The Miz

Co-Raw GM Dean Ambrose comes out and restarts the match. The Miz says that Dean can’t do that, but the ref rings the bell, and Balor immediately attacks The Miz. Finn brings Miz to the ring, and makes short work of The Hollywood A-Lister. One Coup de Grâce from Balor and it’s all over.

Alexa Bliss just got herself a new best friend

Nia Jax semi-confronts Alexa Bliss backstage. She asks the Raw Women’s Champion whether she meant what she said about Nia Jax last week. Bliss had a lot of good things to say about Jax, but does she really mean it? Bliss says she does.

Jax wants a shot at Alexa’s Raw Women’s Championship. Bliss says she can’t make matches, that’s Kurt Angle’s job and he’s not here tonight. Nia says that “until that happens, you have a never best friend,” and taps the champ on the shoulder. Scary stuff.

Alexa Bliss vs. Mickie James

Alexa Bliss has Nia Jax in her corner, while Mickie James has Bayley by her side. The crowd is going crazy chanting for “Bayley” and singing the “Oh, Mickie, you’re so fine” song. Bliss is letting the crowd get to her head and James is kicking ass. Mickie blows Alexa a kiss before hitting her with a stiff kick.

The veteran James is looking amazing in this match. But Bliss is the champion for a reason. Bayley took out the imposing Nia Jax with a crossbody from the steel steps. Meanwhile, Bliss sends a distracted Mickie crashing from the top rope to the ring. And that’s all she wrote.

Post-match: Nia Jax demolishes Mickie James. I guess Nia really is Alexa’s best friend.

Samoa Joe interview turns into a brawl

Just as the sub-heading tells you, Samoa Joe was busy being interviewed backstage when “The Architect” Seth Rollins jumped him. Joe fights back, and we have a real slobber-knocker going on in the backstage area.

Braun Strowman vs. Kalisto

Strowman calls Roman Reigns a pathetic coward who doesn’t want to face him. Braun doesn’t want to wrestle Kalisto tonight, but the referee calls for the bell anyway. The Monster Among Men unleashed all hell on Kalisto. And then…Roman Reigns’ music hits.

Reigns and Braun face off. Roman hits Strowman with a flurry of superman punches. The big man Strowman exits the ring to catch some breath, while the big dog is on the hunt. Reigns tries to spear Braun, but eats a kick instead. The monster starts kicking ass again, but Roman gains the upper-hand and whips out a steel chair. Reigns wails away on Braun with the chair. Reigns yells out, “Whose yard is it now?” Strowman retreats and The Big Dog stands tall.

First Round Tag Team Turmoil for the #1 contender shot at the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships: Enzo & Cass vs. Sheamus & Cesaro

Sheamus squares off against Big Cass to start off this match-up. Cass smacks Sheamus with a big splash and an Empire Elbow. Enzo gets the tag, and Cass launches the little guy right into Cesaro.

We’re back from commercial break, and Cesaro is stomping the sh*t out of Enzo. Cesaro is dominating Enzo right now. But the little guy feeds off the energy of the crowd. Enzo battles back and sends Cesaro hurling into the steel post. Enzo nails The Swiss Superman with an enziguri.  Enzo tries to tag in Cass, but Sheamus takes out the big man. Cesaro locks in the sharp shooter and onto round 2.

Sheamus & Cesaro defeats Enzo & Cass

Second Round Tag Team Turmoil for the #1 contender shot at the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships: Sheamus vs. Cesaro vs. Heath Slater & Rhyno

Before this match starts, all four men brawl outside the ring. Cesaro & Sheamus gain the upper-hand and beat the crap of their opponents before the second match even starts. Sheamus sends Rhyno flying into the steel steps.

Cesaro & Sheamus pick apart Heath Slater in the ring. Slater tries to fight back, but both big men kept knocking him down. Meanwhile, Rhyno is nowhere in sight. Cesaro props up Slater, while Sheamus takes him out with a Brogue Kick.

Third Round Tag Team Turmoil for the #1 contender shot at the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships: Sheamus & Cesaro vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson

Cesaro appears to be in control of Anderson, but the former Bullet Club member smacks The Swiss Superman with a kick in the corner. Gallows gets the tag and performs a double-team attack on Cesaro. Sheamus gets the tag and brawls with big Luke Gallows, who catches White Noise from the Celtic Warrior.

Sheamus is being double-teamed as we come back from commercial break. Gallows & Anderson try the Magic Killer on Sheamus, but the Swiss Superman makes the save. Sheamus connects a Brogue Kick on Gallows for the win.

Final Round Tag Team Turmoil for the #1 contender shot at the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships: Sheamus & Cesaro vs. The Golden Truth

The Golden Truth rush the ring and take the fight to their tired opponents. Goldust & R-Truth put up one hell of fight. They send Cesaro to the outside in the early goings of their encounter. They try to double team Sheamus, but the Celtic Warrior eventually gets the upper-hand.

Shout out to R-Truth for demonstrating a wicked flurry of offense against Cesaro. But the team of the Swiss Superman and the Celtic Warrior are just way too strong for The Golden Truth. End of story.
