It’s never not a good time to talk about HBO’s Game of Thrones. Arguing with your girlfriend about doing the dishes? Perfect time to discuss the political instability in Westeros. Getting yelled at by your boss? Counter with a theory on Jon Snow being Azor Ahai. It’s all deadly.

As we continue the loooooooong wait for season seven, now is a perfect time to spark a brand new GoT debate. Namely: What is the best season of the show to date? Every year has featured HOLY S— character deaths, hashtag-worthy plot twists and badass battle sequences, but which one stands above the rest?

Here is our definitive ranking of all six Game of Thrones seasons from worst-to-best. Feel free to sound off with your disagreements in the comments section.

6. Season Five

No season of Game of Thrones has been full on bad. The show is like sex or pizza, even when it sucks, it’s still good. But season five was…wanting in a few areas. Jon Snow gets a fantastic character arc (shoutout to episode five, “Kill the Boy”) and episode eight, “Hardhome,” has a strong case as the series’ finest hour. But elsewhere, this year of Thrones dragged.

Dorne, one of the coolest locations in George R.R. Martin’s never-going-to-be-finished book series, is given the short end of the spear thanks to all of the demands GoT has for screen time. I also think we can all agree that the Sand Snakes were laughably bad, correct?

Another big problem with season five was its treatment of Sansa Stark. Just as we thought Sansa was going to take control of her own life and become a major player in the great game, she’s brutally victimized (again) at the hands of Ramsay Bolton. Theon Greyjoy’s redemption was great, but did it have to come at the expense of Sansa’s?

Still, seeing Tyrion meet up with Daenerys had me squealing like the boar that did Robert Baratheon in and Arya’s revenge on Ser Meryn was a delightful example of torture porn.

5. Season One

Let me say again: none of Game of Thrones‘ seasons have been bad. But it’s only natural that some stand out more than others. Season one was damn good and arguably the kicking off point of the true Peak TV era. It ensnared us in its political drama and set the tone for the show’s infamous cruelties by killing off Sean Bean’s Ned Stark after convincing viewers he was our main hero (*pours one out for the fallen homie).

In retrospect, Ned’s code of honor is as foolish as Jaime and Cersei’s twincest hiding spots given the treacherous climate of King’s Landing. It was season one that taught us that nobility and morality get you killed in this world

Season one was also bookended with two BIG moments: our first glimpse at the White Walkers and the birth of Dany’s dragons. Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss smartly played down GoT‘s fantasy elements and grounded the early goings in a realistic(ish) footing. But these two moments helped expertly set the table for what was to come.

Bravo, HBO. Bravo.

4. Season Two

From Daenery’s never-ending time in Qarth to Theon’s betrayal of the Starks and capture of Winterfell, season two had its occasional dull moments. Both of these storylines were arguably the characters’ weakest arcs to date. But like benchwarmers on a LeBron James-led team, those weak links were masked by greatness elsewhere.

Watching Tyrion wheel and deal as Hand of the King was like watching a Medieval version of The West Wing, just with more nudity and wine. Tyrion has always been a fan favorite and seeing him in a position of power allowed him to showoff his many talents. Specifically, his save-the-day strategy and get hype speech in the epic “Blackwater” episode.

Elsewhere, Jon’s journey beyond the Wall introduced us to Ygritte and the Wildlings, which was great. And the scenes between Arya and Tywin at Harrenhal were an especially charged departure from the books. Aaron Sorkin, Quentin Tarantino and Benioff/Weiss all share the unique trait of making fascinating scenes out of people just sitting around and talking.

If only my dinner table could be so lively.

3. Season Six

You could argue that season six doesn’t deserve to be this high on the list and I’d certainly agree with many of your criticisms. The High Sparrow vs. The Crown storyline dragged in places as did Arya’s meandering time in Braavos. Overall, much of season six felt a bit too easy and convenient. But by the Old Gods and the News was it enjoyable!

Season six offered shameless fan service and after years of the bad guys racking up Ws, the good guys finally scored some revenge. We got: Jon being resurrected to help Sansa win back Winterfell, Bran uploading to the Tree Matrix and revealing the origins of both Hodor and Jon in onion-cutting fashion, the return of Sandor Clegane, Darth Cersei Mad King-ing everyone of importance left in the capitol, Daenerys recruiting both the Dothraki and Dorne to her cause and the “Battle of the Bastards.”

*Deep breath*

You get all that?

Season six was balls to the wall exciting after five seasons of doom and gloom. I won’t apologize for loving damn near every second of it.

2. Season 4

Season four belongs to Tyrion and Arya, both of whom end up leaving Westeros entirely for their own reasons by season’s end. Their storylines were gorgeous displays of character development and shined particularly bright; the Lord of Light would approve. Season four also exemplified how well the showrunners could pivot audience opinions on characters, painting Sandor Clegane as a tragic hero before his (apparent) demise.

This year of GoT benefitted from the introduction of Prince Oberyn Martell (maybe I’m bias here since that’s also my Clash of Clans handle). Martell served as some much needed new blood, which is what made his shocking and bone crushingly graphic death such a pivotal moment. While his highly anticipated fight scene with The Mountain was great, it was one-upped just a few short weeks later by The Hound vs. Brienne’s gritty brawl.

Some other pluses from season four: Joffrey dies painfully, Littlefinger is revealed to be the puppet master to some of the show’s most crucial inciting incidents and Sansa finally manages to get the f— out of King’s Landing.

1. Season Three

Aw, that’s sweet. Rob Stark and his wife are having a nice moment and HOLY MOTHER OF GOD WHAT IS HAPPENING DEAR LORD THIS IS AWFUL.

The Red Wedding…What is there to say about it that hasn’t already haunted your nightmares?

The Red Wedding was a seminal moment in television viewing history. It’s impact from an audience perspective was as far reaching and culturally intrusive as Who Shot J.R. and The Sopranos‘ fade to black. The scene also reaffirmed all of the hard lessons we learned in season one, just on a bigger and more brutal stage. No, the new and improved son would not avenge the father. The bad guys would win again.

But season three’s greatness isn’t entirely due to the Red Wedding as it also featured arguably the show’s most spectacular pairing in Jaime and Brienne. The Kingslayer was one of the show’s Big Bads in its early years, but his redemptive arc here transformed him into on of the series’ most beloved characters.

On top of all that, Daenerys demonstrated her true power by barbecuing slave owners and gaining an army. To that point, it was her most significant moment as a leader and a conquerer.

Sure, Theon’s torture grew a bit tired after awhile, but season three was explosive in a way few shows have ever been.

Jasmin Thomas, a police dispatcher from Cleveland who was heard snoring on a recorded 911 call, has been suspended for six days after she was caught sleeping on the job.

Thomas pleaded no contest to internal charges from the police department’s investigation.

In addition to the tape of her snoring on the line, audio recordings also showed that Thomas took 10 seconds to answer one call, and then another 40 seconds to transfer the caller to firefighters.

On one call, records show, Thomas took ten seconds to answer and forty seconds to transfer to firefighters for a burning stove.

On another call, you can hear Thomas answer, you don’t hear a person at the other end, but you can hear Thomas snoring five seconds after that.

While the police department suspended the dispatcher, discipline papers show she had been warned before about sleeping on duty. Records show she plead no contest to the internal charges.

Steve Loomis, the Cleveland Police Union President, said this experience has led Thomas to change her lifestyle.

“Not excuses, but the reality is that she’s a single mom. She’s going to college full-time, and she’s working 40, 50, sometimes 60 hours a week up there,” Loomis said.

The Cleveland Police Department declined to comment on Thomas’ actions.

Lynchburg Police Department

Amelia Tat, a former teacher at Jack Jouett Middle School in Virginia, has been sentenced to two years in prison after she admitted to having an affair with a 14-year-old student. Tat, 28, is a married mother of one who learned of her sentence on Monday after pleading guilty to two charges of carnal knowledge of minor.

What Happened?

Tat was teaching science at Jack Jouett Middle School in 2015 when she began exchanging messages with her 14-year-old student on Snapchat and Instagram. At some point, Tat confessed to having feelings for the teenager during an online chat. Soon after, she asked the boy to “stay late and help her after class” one day, which led to them having sex on school grounds. At a later date, the two had sex at her house in Lynchburg and after one of the boy’s baseball games.

Their sexual relationship came to an end eight months later when the teenager’s mother discovered messages from Tat on her son’s phone and called police, resulting in Tat’s arrest in June 2016.

As part of her plea deal, prosecutors agreed to dismiss a third charge of carnal knowledge and an additional count of taking indecent liberties with a child.

Tat, who has a four-month-old daughter with her husband, Solomon, could have faced 20 years in prison had the case gone to trial and resulted in a conviction.

On Monday, a clinical psychologist testified t the Albermale Circuit Court Judge, Cherly Higgins, that a prolonged incarceration would have an adverse effect on Tat’s newborn baby. The Daily Progress reported.

However, prosecutors argued that the judge should also taken into account the victim. The boy took the stand during the hearing that Tat has robbed him of “a lot of firsts” and that he has suffered from anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder following their relationship.

“She isn’t the only child that comes into play in this case,” the victim said, referring to Tat’s daughter.

Overall, the judge sentenced Tat to 10 years in prison but suspended eight of them. Her sentence will being on December 5 and will be followed by 18 months of supervised probation.

Jack Jouett Middle School

On August 29, 1977, Jouett became a middle school and housed sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. This completed the organizational plan of K-5, 6-8, and 9-12 for the county. Jack Jouett is now one of five middle schools in the county and draws students primarily from Greer, Meriwether Lewis and Broadus Wood Elementary Schools. In 1984, Jouett received national recognition as an outstanding school by the Good Schools Project sponsored by Delta Kappa Pi.

Police are searching for40-year-old Marv Hubbard who escaped state custody in Florida City, prompting a school lockdown in Homestead, Wednesday afternoon.

According to Homestead Police, Hubbard escaped from the Dade Correctional Institution, just after 1 p.m. Officers are searching for the escapee in the area of Southwest 312th Street and 147th Avenue.

What Happened?

On Wednesday afternoon, Hubbard escaped from Dade Correctional Institution in Florida City. Officers have concentrated their search efforts on a warehouse, located around a mile south of Southwest 312th Street and a police helicopter is hovering overhead.

Hubbard’s escape and the police’s subsequent search has forced a lockdown at The Charter School at Waterstone, located at 855 Waterstone Way.

Investigators described Hubbard as 6 feet 1 inch tall and 177 pound with black hair and brown eyes. He is serving a 20-year sentence for burglary.

Police have blocked off some roadways within their search grid and are urging drivers to avoid the area.

Dade Correctional Institution

The Dade Correctional Institution is a prison in unincorporated Miami-Dade County, Florida, near Florida City, and south of Homestead, in Greater Miami. It houses adult males. It opened in September 1996.

Seemingly overnight, Isaiah Thomas has gone from a largely unknown, sub-6 foot guard, to a superstar.

The 5-foot-9-inch  point guard, who played three years of college basketball at the University of Washington, was selected by the Sacramento Kings with the final pick in the 2011 NBA draft.

After spending the first three years of his career wallowing away in Sacramento, Thomas spent a year on the Phoenix Suns, before finally finding a permanent home in Boston. Ever since he joined the Celtics,  Thomas has been selected to two NBA All-Star teams.

2015-Present

On February 5, 2015, Thomas was announced as a contestant for the NBA Skills Challenge, making him the shortest contestant to ever participate in the event. Two weeks later, on February 19, 2015, Thomas was traded to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Marcus Thornton and a 2016 first-round pick.

Over the first 21 games of the 2016–17 season, Thomas scored 20 points or more in every contest but one.

Okay, so this is kind of suspicious. Yesterday evening, Beauty and the Beast star Josh Gad posted the following to Twitter:

Hmmm, interesting. But what does it all mean, Basil?

Clearly, Gad’s tweet is a picture of famous Batman nemesis The Penguin, though there isn’t any accompanying text. Of course, Gad could just love The Penguin, as many Batman fans do. On the other hand, could this mean that director Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes) has added The Penguin character to his upcoming The Batman and cast Gad in the role? Stars have often turned to social media to break the news on their own casting, especially when it comes to superhero films. Then again, this could just be Gad doing his own version of Tyrese Gibson’s public lobbying to play Green Lantern. Perhaps the actor is just trying to plant the idea in our minds in hopes of earning a meeting with Warner Bros.

When it comes right down to it, we really have no idea.

One source told Birth.Movies.Death that this “could be” something, though that is as vague as anything.

Again, we have no official word one way or the other, but this is an interesting turn of events nonetheless. Danny Devito first brought the character to life on the big screen in 1992’s Batman Returns. While the film was considered a bit of a letdown at the time, Devito’s performance was widely praised and the movie has come to be appreciated more over time. Since audiences haven’t seen The Penguin in a live action movie since, it makes sense that WB might be toying with the idea of bringing him back.

It’s also worth noting The Penguin could pop up in WB’s planned Gotham City Sirens, Batgirl or Suicide Squad 2 instead of The Batman.

Gad is an unexpected choice to take on the role, though. He’s best know for his comedic work in the smash hit play Book of Mormon and his singing chops put on display in Frozen and Beauty and the Beast. That’s not to say he couldn’t bring us a more theatrical take on The Penguin.

The first game of the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. the Toronto Raptors featured a lot of the same for LeBron James, who was absolutely dominant. There’s only so much you can do to attempt to stop James, but the Raptors are going to have to figure something out quickly with Game 2 ready to tip-off tonight.

Toronto will need to make some adjustments after falling 116-105 to the Cavaliers in Game 1. The Cavaliers, on the other hand, seem good to go. James posted 35 points and 10 rebounds in the effort. Stopping LeBron might be impossible, but containing him will have to be the goal for the Raptors moving forward.

The score of the first game made it seem a little closer than it really was. The Cavs were up by 20 with three minutes to go and then pulled their starters at the end. Tying the series would be crucial for the Raptors tonight because they’ve never come back to win a series after being down 0-2.

The Raptors expect to get consistent play out of their stars DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry but need other players like Jonas Valanciunas or DeMarre Carroll to have more of an impact in the paint. Heading back to Toronto down 0-2 would be less than ideal.

The third season of FOX’s hit show Empire continues tonight, Wednesday, May 3, on FOX at 9:00 P.M. EST. Tonight’s episode, “Civil Hands Unclean,” will air two weeks after the most recent new episode. Need a refresher on that one?

Cookie catches Lucious playing a song he wrote for Giuliana during their affair, and reveals that Angelo intends to propose to her. Giuliana and Andre prepare to meet with Vegas gaming commissioner Charlotte Frost to obtain their license. After listening to Tory’s superior vocals on Nessa’s song, Lucious decides to release it on Empire XStream. Giuliana confronts him at gunpoint in his office and insists that he sign the deal; a flashback shows her husband and his men stealing $10 million that Lucious had planned to use to expand Empire into Vegas years ago. Anika’s wiretap enables the Lyons to inform the FBI of Tariq’s illegal investigation, but Lucious gives him a bag of money before he goes into hiding. Cookie admits that she still loves Lucious, and Angelo flies into a rage; Diana vows to destroy the Lyon family for manipulating her son. The Kentucky Derby is truly fancy event, which is why you’ll bother to actually put on pants before going to your Kentucky Derby-themed party. But if you want to take it up a notch this year, rather than just chugging whatever bourbon straight from the bottle, you can always try to pick up some 1893 Cola to use as a mixer instead.

FX’s Fargo will continue its third season tonight, don’t ‘cha know? The first two episodes have really set the wheels in motion for this season’s tale of crime, misery and good old fashioned bad luck. Here’s everything you need to know about last week’s episode:

Concerned for his business, Emmit asks his lawyer to investigate Varga. An internet search causes the lawyer’s computer to crash and Varga’s men to toss him off a parking garage. Varga then takes ownership of an unused wing of Emmit’s offices. While coping with the introduction of a new police chief (Shea Whigham) and Ennis’s funeral arrangements, Gloria learns that her stepfather wrote cheap science-fiction novels under the pseudonym “Thaddeus Mobley” (Thomas Mann). She also investigates the gas station that Maurice stopped in on the night of the murder and discovers he took a page from a phonebook with Ennis’s information, arousing her suspicions. Nikki suggests Ray make peace with his brother while she steals the stamp. He cordially visits Emmit and the two make peace, which gives Nikki enough time to search his home office. However, Emmit had already put the stamp in a safety-deposit box. Enraged, she leaves a used tampon in one of his desk drawers. Emmit sees it and later tells business partner Sy Feltz (Michael Stuhlbarg) that he put the stamp in the box because the frame is being replaced. Sy meets with Ray to tell him that he can no longer have contact with his brother; he then rams Ray’s Corvette twice.

Fargo‘s second episode delivered quite the punch as it started to dive into the storylines that the characters will integrate into this season. We got the start of a feud between the Stussy brothers, Gloria Burgle going head to head with the new sheriff, Emmitt dealing with his new literal “partners in crime,” and Nikki Swango trying to clear up Ray’s chi. The highlight of last week’s episode has to go to the performance of David Thewlis, whose character V.M Varga seems to be a lot more clever and villainous than the past Fargo villains. While Thewlis has a great deal of help from Hawley’s script, there is no denying that his portrayal of the character might land him his first Emmy.

This week’s episode looks like it will start to shine the spotlight on Carrie Coon’s character Gloria. The promo shows her on the hunt of her stepfather’s secret past, and with what we saw, it shows that this episode will have flashbacks to the ’70s. As any Fargo fan will know, season 2 was set in the late 1979 so I wouldn’t be surprised if an old character pops up. This episode will also start to reveal more of V.M Vargo’s plans for Emmitt’s business, and will definitely have some hilarious hijinks between the Stussy Twins. Also for you Fargo fans, tonight’s episode was written by Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi, who also wrote “The Gift of the Magi” back in season two, which was the episode where things started to hit the fan, so get ready.

The gang is back together or at least for this episode. Minus Dan and Amy, the rest of the crew was sent to Georgia (the country) to help look over their election. This episode dealt with bribery, lies, and a whole lot of great comedy as both candidates tried to woo Selina with a hefty donation to her fund. Last week’s episode did a great job of weighing in on if Selina should do the right thing vs. do what’s best for her. Even though in the end, Selina chose to go for the bigger paycheck, it all worked out, as the victor of the election was arrested and former president Meyer was able to get her money, though the sum dropped a lot.

This season still has some fans scratching their heads as to what direction they are going, seeing as the writers quickly put a wet blanket on the idea of Selina running again. Yet last week’s episode did have some minor signs of the possible direction they could be taking Selina and crew. With Selina dealing with the death of a Supreme Court justice, a possible nod to the current events of what happened after Justice Scalia’s death, she is thrust back into the media spotlight. This week’s episode will also focus on Selina’s daughter Catherine and her lesbian lover Marjorie as they plan to have a child with Dan Egan’s sperm, which sounds hilarious in and of itself. With only six episodes left in the season, hopefully the events that play out tonight will start to show the master plan for everyone, as well as start to set the gears in motion.

Veep Season 6, Episode 4 Preview

Police responded to a shooting reported at Tropical Park Wednesday evening.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue confirmed that one person was shot. One person was detained and later arrested at the scene, Miami-Dade police said.

What Happened?

An SUC parked nearby was riddled with bullets as one person at Tropical Park in Southwest Miami Dade was shot. One person was been detained at the scene and then arrested, according to Miami-Dade police.

According to NBC, the victim suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Two police helicopters are circling the scene above as detectives investigate the area. The shooting took place at about 9:00 P.M.

The victim was woman who was with her husband at Tropical park when they reportedly got into an argument with another man over a parking spot. The other man then went to his car to retrieve a firearm. He then went behind a tree and fired shots toward the other man, striking his wife in the vehicle, according to police.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported the victim to Kendall Regional Hospital in stable condition, officials said.

Police arrested the suspect, and are now looking into whether alcohol was a factor in the shooting.

Tropical Park

Tropical Park is a 275-acre urban park in metropolitan Miami, Florida. The park is located just southwest of the intersection of the Palmetto Expressway and Bird Road, just west of South Miami.

It was opened as a county public park in 1979 on the grounds of the former Tropical Park Race Track. The park includes a handful of facilities including: boxing center, fields for football, soccer and softball as well as basketball, volley ball and tennis courts. It also has an equestrian center, a stadium and a Christmas-themed forest.

In March, the Sigma Chi chapter at the University of Central Florida did the student body the significant favor of hosting their annual Derby Days philanthropy. Why is this such a good deed? Well, because it’s awesome and it’s for a good cause, that’s why. Derby Days is a week-long effort with four nights of event, where sororities compete in challenges and fundraise for charity.

Care to see the schedule?

Day one: consisted of a banquet with a full course Italian meal and a professional harpist to set the tone.

Day two: all the sororities participated in a volleyball tournament that was held at Sigma Chi’s backyard.

Day three: was a reverse serenade where sorority girls sang and trolled the brothers. It was quite entertaining.

Day four: Sigma Chi threw a rager at the Iconic Orlando bar “Stagger Inn” with Ookay headlining. This concert was the most talked about event in Florida so we had no choice, but to send one of our videographers to capture all of the action.

Not bad, right?

All told, the five sororities that participated raised around $35,000 for the Huntsman Cancer Foundation. In case your wondering, Try Delta took home the honors of Derby Days champions. Tri Delt MVP Vanessa Seco was crowned Derby Darling at the end of the week (the award is given to the girl who raises the most money throughout the week while keeping her Derby Day spirit at maximum levels).

Anyway, to celebrate their success and to close the school year out right, UCF threw a massive banger featuring Ookay and WOW does it look like the most fun ever had in college. Check out the video below.

Police have identified the victim in the North Lake College shooting as 20-year-old Janeera Nickol Gonzalez.

According to witnesses, the unidentified man who shot Gonzalez at the Dallas community college allegedly approached her on campus yelling: ‘you know who I am and why I’m here’ before shooting her.

Gonzalez, 20, was killed by the gunman dead on Wednesday, May 3, at a study area inside the Performance Hall Building at North Lake College around 12:45 PM local time.

There is no justice for my daughter,” said Lucia Gonzale, the mother.

Later, police found the body of 21-year-old Adrian Victor Torres, who killed himself after killing Gonzalez in an apparent murder-suicide. According to Gonzalez’s family, Torres had been stalking her for quite a while’, even though the pair were not friends and never dated.

The family had confirmation of their daughter’s death at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gonzalez family was one of many who came to campus to check on loved ones. But the news they received was unlike the news the other families got.

“We’re not gonna see her again. She was a harmless girl,” said Juan Gonzalez, Janeera’s father.

The family says witnesses told them Torres had approached Janeera in front of an art exhibit and yelled at her saying, “You know who I am and you know why I am here.” The family also says the two never dated and were not even friends. It’s an event that has shaken the community to the core and taken a family to their lowest of lows.

“She was very sweet. She was the best daughter a mother could have…the best girl…the best of everything,” said mother and father.

Gonzalez was studying Kinesiology and was scheduled to graduate in a couple of weeks. A GoFundMe page was created to help with funeral expenses.

Full disclosure: I very well may be Force sensitive. My buddy and I trilled Star Wars back in college while drinking every time someone used a lightsaber or the Force (hint: it didn’t go well). In all seriousness, Star Wars Day is a great opportunity to celebrate the wonderfulness that is Star Wars. The date was chosen for the obvious pun on the iconic “May the Force be with you” line (May the Fourth be with you). Lucasfilm didn’t actually have anything to do with the holiday, as fans created it and it spread through media and grassroots celebrations.

In 2011, the first organized celebration of Star Wars Day took place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the Toronto Underground Cinema. Produced by Sean Ward and Alice Quinn, festivities included an Original Trilogy Trivia Game Show; a costume contest with celebrity judges; and the web’s best tribute films, mash-ups, parodies, and remixes on the big screen. The second annual edition took place on Friday, May 4, 2012.

After acquiring Lucasfilm in 2012, Disney has begun to officially observe the holiday with special Star Wars events at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
