Chipotle continues to mount their comeback from those disastrous E. coli outbreaks, and their latest move to boost sales is adding a dessert to their menu. Starting next month, Chipotle will begin testing the new dessert at restaurants, which really grinds my gears considering that I just housed a chicken burrito bowl there last night.

Via CNBC, here’s everything you need to know about Chipotle’s newest menu addition.

While many speculated that Chipotle would roll out a churro dessert, the company opted for a different Mexican sweet —buñuelos.

Buñuelos are fried tortilla strips with honey, cinnamon and sugar and will be served with an apple caramel butter dipping sauce. The strips will be made in already existing equipment in the restaurant and only require a few additional ingredients, the company said.

As a big-time churro enthusiast, I’m deeply saddened to hear that Chipotle opted to go with a different Mexican dessert. Just a total slap in the face to a first ballot Hall of Fame amusement park treat. And because I’m a boring ass gringo, I’ve never even had a buñuelo before. But I will admit that they sound delightful, and I’m definitely going to give them a whirl once they become available.

Everybody knows that you have to cap off a salty and spicy meal with something sweet, so I’m thinking this will end up being a major win for Chipotle.

During closing arguments, prosecutors said that Steven Jones, a former Northern Arizona University student who killed one student and injured three in a 2015 shooting, carried out ‘his own deranged sense of justice’ when he opened fire on a group of people during a drunken fight near the campus.

Jones, 20, is accused of murdering one student and wounding three others in an incident that he claimed was self-defense. Jones claims he was defending himself after he was punched in the face just a few weeks into his freshman year back in October of 2015.

Jurors in began deliberating after closing arguments were concluded on Tuesday, April 25, with deliberations expected to resume on the 26th.

The prosecution and defense spent Tuesday giving their closing arguments, painting a picture of what they claim happened in October 2015 when Jones and two friends were confronted by students outside a party.

Prosecutors told jurors Jones wanted to enact “his own deranged sense of justice.” Prosectuor Ammon Barker claimed Jones was bent on retaliation after one of the partygoers punched him in the face. He told jurors that Jones exaggerated the threat he felt that night when testifying in his defense last week.

“His first thought was to arm himself with a weapon and show whoever was out there who had the power,” said Barker.

“The defendant claims he heard the word kill numerous times,” said Barker. “Did you hear anyone else describe that situation? That somebody said the word kill? No.”

The incident took place in October of 2015. Starting as a drunken brawl among fraternity members, the scrap ended in gunfire after Jones allegedly went to his car, retrieved a gun and opened fire at university students. Therefore, prosecutors told jurors retaliation equaled premeditation.

Barker also showed the jury autopsy photos of Colin Brough, the NAU student that was killed, while arguing that Jones should be found guilty of murder.

According to Jones’ testimony, he claims was accosted by a drunken group of strangers, punched in the face and chased by some members of the group, which prompted him to run to his vehicle and get his .40-caliber handgun.

Jones had said he then went back toward the group and fired his gun, although he did not have the intention of hurting anyone. He testified that he fired the shots ‘to stop the immediate threat that was coming at me.’ Aside from Brough’s death, the shooting also wounded three unarmed victims: Nicholas Piring, Nicholas Prato and Kyle Zeintek.

While prosecutors did not seek the death penalty, they are seeking a conviction of first-degree murder, which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison. Jurors also have the option to return a lesser verdict that carries a lighter sentence, for example, second-degree murder or manslaughter.

Stealthing appears to be the rise, hovering over the boundaries of consensual sex and sexual assault. But what is ‘stealthing’ exactly? It sure does sound sneaky.

Well, that’s because it is sneaky. ‘Stealthing’ is when you remove your condom in the middle of sex, unbeknownst to your partner. The sex is consensual, but the removal of the condom isn’t. It’s a secret act that may end up spreading STDs and might just get that lady pregnant.

Is ‘Stealthing’ considered Sexual Assault?

At this moment, the act of ‘stealthing’ is not considered sexual assault by law in the United States. Tampa Defense Attorney Hunter Chamberlain says, “To change this from a legal behavior to an illegal behavior, the legislature or the courts are going to have to further define what consent means,” and “As of yet, that statute does not exist.”

Plenty of men who practice ‘stealthing’ brag about their sexcapades on message boards. They believe it’s their right “to spread their seed.”

A study from the Columbia Journal of Gender and Law revealed the case of Rebecca, a woman who worked on the sexual assault crisis hotline. She reports receiving phone calls from women who were ‘stealthed’ by their sex partner. “Their stories often start the same way,” Rebecca said. “’I’m not sure if this is rape, but…’”

The author of the study, Alexandra Brodsky added that, “Survivors experience real harms ― emotional, financial, and physical ― to which the law might provide remedy through compensation or simply an opportunity to be heard and validated.”

In the study, Brodsky writes, “Survivors [of stealthing] describe nonconsensual condom removal as a threat to their bodily agency and as a dignitary harm. ‘You have no right to make your own sexual decisions,’ they are told. ‘You are not worthy of my consideration.’”

“One can note,” Brodsky writes, “that proponents of ‘stealthing’ root their support in an ideology of male supremacy in which violence is a man’s natural right.”

But what about ‘Stealthing’ in Other Countries?

In Switzerland, a man was convicted of rape as a result of ‘stealthing.’ A 47-year-old Swiss man met a lady on Tinder. They both agreed upon consensual sex with a condom. But later, she realized he had removed that condom sometime during intercourse without her knowledge or approval.

The highest court in Switzerland took on this case. The Federal Supreme Court in Lausanne decided that this man’s actions do constitute rape. He received a one-year suspended sentence. The man’s lawyer described the verdict as “a first in Switzerland.”

Meanwhile, the Swedish government wants to try Wikileaks founder Julian Assange in court for allegations of ‘stealthing.’ Assange maintains his innocence and has sought asylum in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.

In the United Kingdom, the act of ‘stealthing’ is considered sexual assault in the Sexual Offenses Act 2003. In particular, Section 74, which provides legal guidance, mandates conditional consent.

After falling down 2-0 early in the series, the Atlanta Hawks have stormed back to even the series against the Washington Wizards. The momentum has completely shifted to the side of Atlanta as both teams are set to meet again tonight in Washington.

Other player stepping up in the backcourt is going to be key for the Wizards moving forward. Paul Millsap has dominated for Atlanta, along with strong play from center Dwight Howard. Game five will be pivotal to the way the rest of this series goes, as it typically goes.

Tonight on ESPN, we’ll be treated to the first meeting between the New York Yankees (11-7) and Boston Red Sox (11-8) of the 2017 MLB season. The greatest rivalry in baseball was supposed to kick off last night, but the weather didn’t cooperate. The game was rained out and rescheduled to take place as part of a day-night doubleheader on July 16.

Taking the ball for the Yankees will be right-hander Luis Severino (1-1). The 23-year-old was fantastic in his first two starts this season, giving up just six runs (five earned) on eight hits and a walk while striking out 21 batters over 15 innings. He ran into some trouble in his last start, though, losing a decision to the Baltimore Orioles after surrendering four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out six batters over five innings.

Opposing Severino will be the 2016 AL Cy Young Award winner Rick Porcello. The sinkerballer has experienced some tough sledding this year, going 1-2 with a 5.32 ERA and 1.52 WHIP over his first four starts. But it hasn’t been all doom and gloom for the 28-year-old righty, as he’s struck out 23 batters over 23.2 innings and posted quality starts in three of his four outings.

The Blues and the Predators will kick things off in the second round with these two teams competing for a chance to continue their postseason. The Predators got to enjoy a rest after sweeping the Blackhawks, while the Blues had a little less time off, taking five games to eliminate the Wild. During this previous season, the Blues and Predators faced off five times, with the Blues winning three of the matchups. This will be a hard-fought series because the Blues are looking to make it back to the western conference finals and the Predators are looking to make it out of the second round for the first time in the team’s history. The Blues were not the favorites to win their series with the Wild, and yet they did. This team looks a whole lot different than what we have seen in the regular season and looks like a team capable of making it to the finals. With that said, the team still has a lot of work to do because even though they did win game five, they looked a little sloppy on the ice. After watching that overtime and the overtime between the Canadiens and the Rangers, I have to say that the Blues have work to do. Speed is key to winning, and always going on the attack and looking for the next goal is a great mentality to have. The Blues had a 3-1 over the wild going into the third and yet let the Wild tie it up, for it looked like St. Louis was trying to hold their lead rather than go on the attack. New series always seems to bring out a new team, so we have to wait and see how the Blues are able to stop the Predators and win this series.

The Predators did something no one had expected, not just because they eliminated the Blackhawks, but because they swept them. This team caught everyone’s attention with their series win, with many seeing this team as a favorite to represent the western conference in the Stanley Cup finals. Nashville still has some work to do, as they will face the St. Louis. P.K. Subban seems to really have found his place with this team and can help bring them to their first appearance in the western conference finals. If the Predators can make a repeat of what they did to the Blackhawks and manhandle this team, then they will prove they have the stuff to win it all. With the heart and soul of Nashville backing this team and with a great roster, there is no telling how far this team will go.

ABC’s The Goldbergs continues its fourth season tonight with episode No. 21, “Fonzie Scehme,” at 8:00 P.M. EST. Unfortunately, it’s been almost three weeks since the last new episode aired, so here’s a little refresher of episode No. 20:

Murray is dead set on having Erica attend his alma mater, Penn State University, and sets up an admissions interview for his daughter. Erica intentionally bombs the interview at Penn State, so her parents would have no choice but to approve her preferred college, Carnegie Mellon University. But Erica soon receives a rejection letter from Carnegie Mellon, making Penn State her only option left. Not to worry: Murray is a Penn State alumnus, so he will be able to smooth things over with the admissions official. The only problem is, Murray never graduated from Penn State, falling one credit short. Angry that Murray pushed college on her when he never even graduated, Erica tries to fulfill her dream of becoming famous by singing on the street in the rain. Murray visits and apologizes for being a hypocrite, and they make up. Meanwhile, Adam and Pops make a date to see the new Batman movie starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson. Barry badly wants to be included, but when they get to the theater, Pops and Adam take two seats in a row with no other seats available, forcing Barry to sit way up front by himself. Adam loves the movie, but Pops isn’t thrilled because it isn’t like the old Batman TV series starring Adam West. Seizing the opportunity, Barry tries to drive a wedge between Adam and Pops’ friendship by taping Adam badmouthing the old Batman series, and locking Adam in his room to prevent him from stopping him. When Barry shows Pops the video however, Pops sees it as an obvious ploy for his attention. Upset that his plan failed, Barry complains that Adam monopolizes all of Pops’ time, and he always feels left out. To make it up, Adam and Pops ask Barry to play a villain in a Batman movie they are creating.

There were able to win in overtime in game four, but the Flames still kept right behind the Ducks the whole series.  The key for the Ducks is to always keep the edge over the Oilers, as Edmonton has proven they can eliminate playoff veteran teams. Anaheim should not underestimate this young team and throw everything they have at the Oilers if they want to win this series. The Ducks are used to fast-paced hockey and have great players on their roster to keep this young team at bay. Anaheim is not looking to have a repeat of the last time they faced the Oilers, so get ready for the Ducks to come full force.

You have to give credit where credit is due. The Oilers did make work of the Sharks. But, I still think this series will prove how great this team really is. I have said in the past how the Sharks seem to choke year after year so a real competitor like the Ducks will bring out how great the Oilers can be. By winning this series they will clear up a lot of doubt and show they are not just a first round fluke. The Oilers should also go far, seeing as they were able to get four first overall picks 2010-2012 and again in 2015. This is a young team that can really reclaim their mark back in the hockey world. The Wayne Gretzky years put this team on the map, yet they seemed to decay after their 1990 Stanley Cup win. Winning this series will truly bring a resurgence to Edmonton and help them reclaim their hockey titan title. Even if they lose this series, they can still carry the momentum into next season, and then this might be the team to beat in the coming seasons.

I think it goes without saying that Shaq and Charles Barkley not only have two of the dumbest sounding voices in sports broadcasting, but maybe on the entire planet known as earth. During halftime of last night’s thrilled Thunder-Rockets game, for reasons unknown to me, the crew of Inside The NBA threw some auto-tune on. As I was watching this live, a portion of me kind of wish Shaq and Chuck were permanently on auto-tune. It would make their unalleviable mumbling just slightly more entertaining.

Shame on Barkley for being such a hardo about the whole thing and getting his panties all bunched up because he was ‘trying to make a point’. Chuck, half the shit you say is unintelligible to the audience anyway, so if anything, the auto-tune actually helps you get your point across. I was far more focused on what he was saying last night than I ever have been before.

Well, how ’bout that! The first episode of Fargo season three really got right to it and we were introduced to the new set of characters that will be leading this season. Ewan Mcgregor excels at being able to play twin brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy as he’s somehow able to play dual, different characters. Mary Elizabeth Winstead captivates you with not just her looks, but how she presents her “bad to the bone” character, Nikki Swango. Carrie Coon plays Gloria Burgle, who is this season’s cop that will put the pieces together. The first episode set the stage for the events that are going to transpire this season and did it to a T.

Noah Hawley is basically a veteran at being able to create new characters for storylines that fit with the themes and aesthetic of the Coen brothers’ original 1996 film. Episode two will dive further into the troubles and events that transpired in episode one, while also exploring more about the characters and area. Get ready for another witty and thrilling season of this Emmy-winning show.

College is typically the most fun four years of your life…unless, of course, your heading to the NFL like LSU’s Jamal Adams. With pro games, millions of dollars and endless fame on the horizon, it’s safe to say his fun is just beginning. Still, everyone holds a soft spot in their hearts for college and Adams is no different.

COED sat down with the star safety at the VIP Style Lounge ahead of the 2017 NFL Draft where he discussed what he’ll miss most about his student-athlete days.

“Just the relationships I built with the people around…There’s so many great people at LSU, you know, that you’re going to miss. You miss coming out of that tunnel,” Adams said. “There’s nothing like 100,000-plus fans screaming, chanting the purple and gold. But it’s definitely going to be the people.”

The people are great. His teammates, though, are even better. Adams forged close-knit bonds with his brothers in arms during his three years at LSU. The 21-year-old loves his teammates and visibly warms when he speaks about them…even if they weren’t always the best behaved bunch.

“No, I definitely wasn’t the prankster [on the team]. I like to have fun a little bit, but I don’t cross the boundary,” Adams said. “For instance, there were a lot of guys that put food in people’s lockers…”

Adams stops and glares at his buddy sitting next to him. The whole room erupts in knowing laughter.

“Very nasty. They used to do that, but as far as getting them back, I would just throw it back in their locker. But other than that, I’m real laid back. What you see is what you get.”

Well, what we get is pretty darn good and what that lucky NFL team will get is top notch. Adams may miss the connections he made in college, but he’s sure to thrive in the pros.

Everyone already knew that University of Washington wide receiver John Ross was a good football player thanks to his breakout junior season. Ross snagged 81 balls for 1,150 yards and a whopping 17 touchdowns in 2016, cementing himself as one of the best deep threats in all of college football. But despite these gaudy numbers, it was another stat that had nothing to do with real football that put the speedster on the map.

At the 2017 NFL Combine, Ross ran a blistering 4.22 second 40-yard dash, breaking the previous all-time record of 4.24 held by Rondel Menendez and Chris Johnson.

Clearly, Ross can fly. But does he think he’s better than CJ2k?

COED sat down with Ross at the VIP Style Lounge ahead of the 2017 NFL Draft to get an answer.

“It meant a lot [breaking Johnson’s record] just because it was sitting for so long,” Ross told us (Johnson posted that record in 2008). “You appreciate guys like that who set standards so high and give you something to chase after.”

Yeah, yeah, yeah…But do you think you’re better, Ross?

“Well, we play two different positions so it’s kind of hard to just say I’m going to be better than him…He had a lot of accolades that I can contribute to, so I plan to make as much noise as he did.”

Ah Ross, ever the diplomatic and well behaved prospect, eh?

In three seasons at Washington, Ross caught 114 passes for 1,729 yards and 22 touchdowns while averaging 16.3 yards-per-catch.

Will he be a better pro than Johnson? That’s a tall order, but anything is possible with his unparalleled speed.

There’s an old football adage that goes, “In college, you’re a god. In the NFL, you’re just a millionaire.” The saying speaks to the feverish popularity of college football and the sense of school pride that exists throughout the country. Sure, the NFL may feature the best of the best in terms of talent, but there’s nothing quite like a heated college rivalry or the pampered treatment star players receive around campus. It goes beyond mere fame.

So how do prospective first-round NFL picks feel about the transition? COED got a chance to speak with Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer at the VIP Style Lounge ahead of the 2017 NFL Draft to find out.

“It’s 100% true,” Kizer said of the saying. “That’s what I’m kind of playing for right now. But obviously the god and big man on campus thing are cool, but at this next level it becomes your job. It’s time to serious up and be the guy that is deserving of the millions you’re going to get.”

Kizer has positioned himself well to cash in on those millions. The junior signal-caller is a two-year starter who passed for 2,925 yards and 26 touchdowns against nine interceptions and ran for 472 yards and eight scores last year. He’s projected to be the third or fourth quarterback off the board in this year’s draft.

Given his looming ascension among the ranks of celebrities and wealthy 21-year-olds, we asked Kizer who would play him in the movie of his life.

“Will Smith,” he answers without hesitation. “Will Smith is the smoothest, he’s the funniest, he sees everything and I like to think I am Alex Hitchens every once in a while.”

Kizer’s Hitch reference is all the more impressive considering he was nine-years-old when the movie came out. Feel old yet?

Kizer’s life is about to change in major ways, but if he’s able to channel his inner-Alex Hitchens, he’ll be just fine as a millionaire who is no longer a god.

Happy National Babe Ruth Day! Today honors one of baseball’s greatest players of all-time and the inspiration for the greatest sports movie of all time, The Sandlot. So, yeah, it’s kind of a big deal.

On April 27, 1947, Babe Ruth attended Yankee Stadium for (surprise, surprise) Babe Ruth Day. As it turned out, this would be the second-to-last time Ruth would ever visit Yankee Stadium. In 1946, the Great Bambino was diagnosed with throat cancer. He died on August 16, 1948.

On this day in 1947, the Sultan of Swat returned to “The House that Ruth Built” to be honored. Football may technically be this country’s most popular sport these days, but Ruth was a titan of the nation’s past time and is well deserving of his very own day on the calendar.

What, you’re too much of a millennial to show respect to the greats? Let’s take a second to properly appreciate Ruth’s accomplishments.

After 22 years in the major leagues, Ruth finished his career with a batter average of .342 (10th all-time) with 714 home runs (3rd, but let’s not count the cheaters), 2214 RBIs (2nd) and 2,873 total hits (44th). How about some newfangled advanced metrics for ya? Ruth ranks 1st in Wins Above Replacement (183.7), 1st in Wins Above Replacement Position Players (163.1) and 1st in Offensive Wins Above Replacement (155.1). Dude raked.

The 2017 NFL Draft is upon us, which means the fates of franchises will be forever be altered by some of the choices made today. Heading into Round 1, Texas A&M’s Myles Garrett is expected to be the top overall pick by the Cleveland Browns. The defensive end is a fearsome pass-rusher and while he may not be as safe as some other No. 1 options in the past, he does have the ceiling of a perennial All-Pro.

So how much money will Garrett command should he be the first name called on Draft day? Well, since the NFL instituted a rookie wage scale in 2013, player salaries have sharply declined for draftees. Gone are the days when the Sam Bradfords of the world would score $50 million guaranteed before they ever take a single pro snap. Exhibit A: Last year’s No. 1 overall pick, Jared Goff, will earn approximately $27,946,656 over his rookie deal with the Los Angeles Rams (something the Rams may already be regretting), including a $18,515,839 signing bonus.

“But Goff is a quarterback and Garrett is a D-End!” you cry out to no one in particular because you’re alone in a dark room right now arguing with the Internet.

This is true, and there is a monetary difference when evaluating QBs and pass-rushers. Signal-callers are simply more valuable overall. For example, 2013 No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney signed a four-year deal worth $22,272,998 and a $14,518,544 signing bonus. That’s more than a $5 million difference, though it’s important to note that the NFL salary cap in 2013 was $123.6 million while 2017’s will be a whopping $167 million (2016’s was $155.27 million). On the open market, quarterbacks will almost always be paid more because of the scarcity at the position. Just this offseason, the Chicago Bears gave QB Mike Glennon a three-year, $45 million deal while the San Diego Chargers re-signed DE Melvin Ingram to a one-year deal worth $14.5 million.

At the top of the draft, however, it’s all about numbers. Given the $12 million bump in cap space this year, expect Garrett (or whoever goes No. 1 overall) to receive a deal with a total value just north of $30 million and a signing bonus right around $20 million.

So even though players are no longer negotiating untapped deals before they ever step foot on an NFL field, it’s clear that the top picks are still being compensated very well. The whole thing makes me lament being an uncoordinated, un-athletic wimpy writer.

The University of California Berkeley has canceled an upcoming appearance from conservative pundit Ann Coulter after school officials feared that a safe venue could not be found.

Coulter says that UC Berkeley is responsible for the cancelation due to their concerns over violent protests. Furthermore, Coulter criticized the group who originally sponsored her speech, Young America’s Foundation, for backing out after originally suing the school for the right to have Coulter speak.

Coulter, one of the most divisive commentators in the country, was scheduled to give a speech critical of pro-immigration policies on Thursday, April 27. She announced the university’s decision in a series of tweets.

Berkeley officials previously said that there was no safe venue at the campus for Coulter to speak, citing violent demonstrations by left-wing protestors before a February appearance from Milo Yiannopoulos.

Coulter says that despite the cancelation of her speech, she may still visit campus on that day anyway.
