April The Giraffe Gave Birth To Baby Calf At New York Zoo

Denver7’s YouTube

April the Giraffe finally gave birth to her baby calf today, and the internet couldn’t possibly be any happier. After being pregnant for sixteen months, April welcomed her fourth calf into the world at Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York.

The zoo put April on a live stream while she was in labor, and a whopping 1.2 million people tuned in to see the birth. You can check out the big moment in the video below.

While giraffes are awesome and the miracle of life is amazing, that was pretty damn gross. I felt like I was watching Ace Ventura try to escape out of that fake rhino.

All jokes aside, I’m very happy for April and baby daddy Oliver. Here’s CNN with some additional information on the birth.

The weight of the newborn is unknown, but a calf at birth is usually about 6 feet tall and weighs a whopping 100 to 150 pounds. Calves start walking about half an hour after birth.

April will raise the calf, with weaning expected to take between six to 10 months. Animal Adventure Park will hold a contest to name the calf.

This baby calf is a lock to be named Giraffey McGiraffeface, right?

Radiohead Leaves Coachella Stage Twice Due To Audio Problems During Headlining Set

Radiohead headlined the first night of Coachella, and technical difficulties unfortunately put a huge monkey wrench in their performance. The sound cut out twice during their set, leaving both fans and Radiohead extremely pissed off.

Via Consequence of Sound, here’s how it all went down.

The trouble began three songs into the set as the band performed “Ful Stop”. Not only did the sound drop, but there were several loud bursts of feedback, as Pitchfork notes. Thom Yorke joked that it was the result of “alien interference.” The audio problems continued two songs later during “Airbag,” prompting the band to briefly pause the set in order to fix the issues. However, just two songs later during “Let Down”, the sound again dropped and the band exited the stage. When the band returned, Yorke asked the crowd, “Can you actually hear me now?” I’d love to tell you a joke, lighten the mood, something like that. But this is Radiohead, so f*ck it.”

That’s brutal. I can’t imagine being a huge Radiohead fan and shelling out tons of money to see them at Coachella, and then having to suffer through bullshit audio problems like that. This isn’t a cover band at your local bar. This is Radiohead at Coachella for Christ’s sake. Get it together, ya slapdicks.

Here are some videos of the sound cutting out, showing how it brought the show to a screeching halt.

So frustrating. But it’s been reported that things went a whole lot smoother during the second half of their set, so all was not lost. Plus, anytime you get to hear “Creep” live it can’t be too bad of a night. That’s pretty f*cking special.

Currently, Michelle fights in the strawweight division, but she also spent time at atomweight earlier in her career.

Michelle made her professional MMA debut on February 16, 2007, beating Andrea Miller by unanimous decision in a strawweight bout at Ring of Fire 28: Evolution. She bounced around several promotions before really making a name for herself in the Invicta Fighting Championships. Michelle went 3-1 in her four fights in the IFC, which all took place at atomweight.

On April 5, 2013, Michelle defeated Jessica Penne via an armbar submission to win the Invicta FC Atomweight Championship. She would make one successful title defense against Yasuko Tamada before dropping her belt to Hérica Tibúrcio via a guillotine choke submission on December 5, 2014.

After losing her championship, Michelle made the jump to the UFC. Since joining the promotion, Michelle has fought at strawweight, and she is 2-0 with both of her wins coming via rear-naked choke submissions. In Michelle’s most recent bout, she defeated Paige VanZant on December 17, 2016, earning a Performance of the Night bonus for her impressive effort.

Up next for Michelle is a date with Rose Namajunas at UFC on Fox: Johnson vs. Reis on April 15, 2017. Let’s do our part in wishing Michelle good luck by taking a look at her hottest photos in the gallery above.

Toronto Raptors vs. Milwaukee Bucks Live Stream: How To Watch NBA Playoffs Online

0
0

The second game of the NBA playoffs will be between the three-seed Toronto Raptors and the six-seed Milwaukee Bucks. The Raptors made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals last year before getting sent home by the eventual champion Cleveland Cavaliers in six games.

It’s been a long damn time since the Bucks experienced that type of success, as they haven’t made it out of the first round of the playoffs since the 2000-2001 season. That team was lead by Ray Allen, Glenn Robinson, and Sam Cassell, and they were eliminated by the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference Finals in a controversial seven game series.

As for this series, it’s a relatively even matchup. Toronto (51-31) took the regular season series 3-1, and they are -390 favorites to advance to the next round. Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan are Toronto’s dynamic duo, as they combine for a whopping 49.7 points per game.

When it comes to the Bucks (42-40), it’s all about The Greek Freak. Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the most exciting young players in the game today, as he averaged 22.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.9 blocks while shooting 52.2% from the floor in the regular season. The 22-year-old Antetokounmpo made his first All-Star team, and he looks to be a stone cold lock for about a dozen more.

Now that the stage has been set, let’s breakdown all of the different ways you can watch the Raptors take on the Bucks.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Memphis Grizzlies Live Stream: How To Watch NBA Playoffs Online

0

Of all the matchups in the first round of the NBA playoffs, this series should feature by far the most defensive minded basketball. This season, the San Antonio Spurs were second in the NBA in scoring defense (98.1 points per game), while the Memphis Grizzlies were third (100.0 points per game).

The Spurs earned the two-seed in the Western Conference after going 61-21 in the regular season. San Antonio is lead by Kawhi Leonard, who is on the very short list of best two-way players in the league. Leonard made his second straight All-Star team with averages of 25.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.8 steals per game.

Memphis locked up the seven-seed in the West with a 43-39 record in the regular season. This is the Grizzlies’ seventh straight playoff appearance, and they are still backed by the usual trio of Mike Conley, Marc Gasol, and Zach Randolph. Their championship window most likely closed years ago, but you can guarantee that they will still give the Spurs everything they got.

In last year’s playoffs, these teams met in the first round in the same #2-seed/#7-seed matchup, and the Spurs swept the Grizzlies 4-0. But on a positive note for Memphis, they did split their regular season series against the Spurs 2-2, with the home team winning every game.

Now that the stage has been set, let’s breakdown all of the different ways you can watch these hard-nosed teams slug it out.

The Maple Leafs are looking for retribution tonight against the Capitals. Last Thursday, the team from Toronto fell to Washington in round one, with a score of 3-2. But the game was neck-and-neck between the Capitals and the Maples Leafs as it swung into overtime.

Toronto is one tough team. Don’t count them out. They were leading Thursday’s game against the Capitals by two points in the first period. But the Washington team is extremely resilient, and may just be the team who wins this year’s Stanley Cup.

The Capitals are the No. 1 ranked team in the Metropolitan Division, with 55 wins and only 19 loses. On the other hand, the Maple Leafs are ranked fourth in the Atlantic Division, with 40 wins and 27 defeats.

Welcome to game two of the NHL Playoffs. We’re on the road to The Stanley Cup. Which team will advance and who will fall to the sidelines, waiting for another year to achieve glory?

The Capitals have never won a Stanley’s Cup, but that may all change in 2017. The Maple Leafs have won multiple cups in the past, yet they haven’t won that elusive prize since 1967. Meanwhile, the Capitals are on a hot streak; they’ve won the Presidents’ Trophy this year, maybe they’ll win the Stanley’s Cup too. Find out who wins when you live stream tonight’s game on your TV, computer, tablet or mobile device.

Fiona Erdmann: Hottest Photos Of The German Model

Fiona Erdmann is fit as f**k. She’s definitely no couch potato. She’s a 28-year-old fitness model from Germany, who is probably in the best shape of her life.

Erdmann began her career on season 2 of Germany’s Next Top Model reality series. She didn’t win the competition, as she finished in fourth place. But that didn’t mean modeling agencies weren’t interested in the young blonde starlet. Quite the contrary, as she was soon picked up by various agencies, including Ice Models, MGM Models, Max Models, and Divina Model Management.

Fiona has also worked as a runway model, walking for designers such as Patrick Mohr, Sebastian, Ellrich, and Irene Luft. She was also a featured runway model for Mercedes Fashion Week.

This Central European beauty has done her fair share of ads and magazine covers. In May 2008, she was featured on the cover of the Germany version of Playboy. Fiona also appeared in a commercial for AXE and in the pages of FHM Germany.

Fiona separated from her husband in early 2016. But that still doesn’t mean any of us have a shot with this lovely model. But hey, there’s no harm dreaming, right?

Cole’s most recent studio album, which was both a critical and commercial smash. 4 Your Eyez Only will feature performances of songs from the album, along with interviews conducted by Cole himself. Providing a platform for subjects who feel their stories have not been heard, Cole captures these stories in Baton Rouge, Atlanta, Ferguson, Mo., Cole’s hometown of Fayetteville, NC and his father’s hometown of Jonesboro, Ark., where he focuses on how this small town so closely resembles the rest of the country in its struggles with integration.

I don’t know if there is a rapper today who is more of a man of the people than Cole. He’s a true ambassador for hip-hop, and you better believe I’ll be catching one of his shows on his upcoming world tour.

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Utah Jazz Live Stream: How To Watch NBA Playoffs Online

0
0

We’ve got a real contrast of styles in this playoff matchup, as the Los Angeles Clippers and Utah Jazz have totally different philosophies. The Clippers were the sixth best offense in the NBA in the regular season, scoring 108.7 points per game, while the Jazz were 28th with an average of 100.7 points per game.

But when it comes to defense, Utah holds the advantage. The Jazz gave up only 96.8 points per game, which made them the top defense in the NBA. Los Angeles was in the middle of the pack in the defense department, finishing 12th with an average of 104.4 points per game.

The Clippers and Jazz both finished the regular season with 51-31 records, so we should be in for a very closely contested series. The Clips were awarded the four-seed due to them holding a 3-1 edge over the Jazz in their regular season contests. This is the Clippers’ sixth straight playoff appearance, and their postseason success still hinges on the triumvirate of Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan.

While the Clippers are no stranger to the postseason, this is Utah’s first appearance in the playoffs since the 2011-2012 season. They also haven’t advanced past the first round since the 2009-2010 season. Gordon Hayward will look to break this drought by scoring in bunches, while Rudy Gobert will do his damage by controlling the paint.

Now that the stage has been set, let’s breakdown all of the different ways you can watch tonight’s game between the Clippers and Jazz.

Jordyn Wieber is a retired artistic gymnast. The 21-year-old from DeWitt, Michigan was a member of the Fierce Five gymnastics team that brought home gold for the USA at the 2012 Olympics. Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman, Kyla Ross, and Jordyn won the USA’s second ever gold medal in the team competition.

Besides her gold medal in 2012, Jordyn had plenty of success at the international level. She was a member of the national team from 2006-2012, and she had an awesome run at the 2011 World Championships. Jordyn won golds in the all-around and team events and a bronze in the balance beam competition.

After the Olympics, Jordyn enrolled at UCLA. But because she signed with Wasserman Media Group and earned money from her Olympic success, she was ineligible to join their gymnastics team. Even though she can’t get out there herself, Jordyn still finds other ways to help the team. Jordyn used to be their team manager, and she’s currently a volunteer assistant coach for the Bruins.

Let’s celebrate the career of Jordyn and wish UCLA good luck at the 2017 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships by taking a look at her hottest photos in the gallery above.

Easter Egg History & Meaning: Full Story & Details

COED

(Photo by John Giles – WPA Pool/Getty Images)

Though Easter is meant to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the holiday has become synonymous with Easter eggs and Easter egg hunts. But where did these arbitrary traditions come from? That’s a good question.

Easter Egg History

Did you know the tradition of painting hard-boiled eggs during springtime actually predates Christianity? I had no idea. But in many cultures around the globe, the egg represents new life, fertility and rebirth. For thousands of years, Iranians and other mideastern cultures decorated eggs on Nowruz, the Iranian New Year that falls on the spring equinox.

There are some arguments that claim that the Easter egg has pagan roots. Wayyyyyy back in the day, it was believed that some pagans celebrated the return of the sun god on the spring equinox and used decorated eggs as a commemorative effort.

But for Christians, the easter egg represents the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Painting easter eggs is a big deal in the Orthodox and Eastern Catholic churches where are eggs are dyed red to represent the blood of Jesus Christ dying on the cross. Easter eggs are then blessed by the priest for extra juju.

The hard shell of the egg represents the sealed Tomb of Christ, and cracking the shell represents Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. Historically, Christians abstain from eating eggs and meat during Lent, and Easter was the first chance to eat eggs after a long period of abstinence. (Orthodox Christians continue to abstain from eggs during Lent.)

So that’s the deal behind easter eggs. The more ya know, right?

Happy Easter 2017 Images: Funny Photos, Best Memes & Jokes

Easter Sunday is here once again, in one of the more popular holidays around the world. From egg hunts to extremely uncomfortable pictures with the Easter bunny, it’s a great holiday. Whether you celebrate the holiday or not, a heavy consumption of candy is usually involved.

The religious holiday of Easter is the culmination of Jesus’ resurrection from the tomb after his death. The date in the Christian faith varies between March and April each year, depending on the first Sunday following the full moon after the vernal equinox on March 21.

Somewhere along the way, a rabbit became a pivotal portion of the holiday across the world. With that, these are some of the best memes and funny pictures for Easter 2017.

Are Banks/Stores Open On Easter Sunday 2017?

0
0

Easter Sunday is a religious holiday, not a civil one. Many businesses will shut down or limit their hours on Sunday. Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead and is celebrated heavily throughout the world.

Easter is a public holiday and some stores, restaurants, and banks will be closed for the whole day. In the United States, Easter has not been recognized as a federal or state holiday. Many parades are held around the country, with the most popular being in New York City.

Here’s what you need to know about what might be open or closed this Easter Sunday.

Are Banks Open On Easter Sunday?

Most banks are closed on Easter Sunday. You can check ATM and banking locations for any possible exceptions online. Some banks and credit unions will not list Easter on their sites, but will not be open on Easter. Typical banks are closed on Sunday to begin with, so the sites won’t list Easter there.

There are a few banks that do open on Sunday, including TD Bank, Academy Bank Midwest, and Citizens Bank, but they will all be closed for Easter. The banks will be open on the Monday following Easter.

What Stores Are Open On Easter Sunday?

Due to Easter being a religious and not a civil holiday, some stores will still be open or have limited hours this Sunday. Just to be sure, you can call your neighborhood store or check their hours online. Some larger chain stores tend to be open on Easter with limited hours, while smaller names may be closed for the day.

Many restaurants and malls may be closed for the day.

Not only should this be a very competitive series, but there is also some history between these two teams. Just two years ago, the Hawks beat the Wizards 4-2 in the Eastern Conference Semifinals in a highly entertaining series.

The Wizards earned the four-seed in the East by going 49-33 in the regular season. They won their first division title since the 1978-1979 season to punch their ticket to the playoffs for the third time in four years. Washington is lead by John Wall, who made his fourth straight All-Star team after having his best season to date. The 26-year-old point guard posted career-highs in points (23.1), assists (10.7), steals (2.1), and field goal percentage (45.1%).

Atlanta had a solid regular season, securing the five-seed in the Eastern Conference with a 43-39 record. This is their 10th consecutive trip to the playoffs, and even though the Hawks have never made it to the NBA Finals over this span, that’s still pretty damn impressive. Atlanta’s best player is power forward Paul Millsap, and the 32-year-old made his fourth straight All-Star team this year after averaging 18.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.

Now that the stage has been set, let’s breakdown all of the different ways you can watch Washington and Atlanta kick off their series.

Golden State Warriors vs. Portland Trail Blazers Live Stream: How To Watch NBA Playoffs Online

First up in the Golden State Warriors’ redemption tour after blowing a 3-1 lead to the Cleveland Cavaliers in last year’s NBA Finals is a date with the Portland Trail Blazers. These two teams met in last year’s playoffs as well, with the Warriors beating the Blazers 4-1 in the Western Conference Semifinals.

They didn’t get close to 73 wins this year, but Golden State cruised to the one-seed in the Western Conference with a 67-15 record. The Warriors lead the NBA in scoring with 115.9 points per game, and they have three players who can score in bunches. Steph Curry (25.3), Kevin Durant (25.1), and Klay Thompson (22.3) all averaged at least 20 points per game, which is pretty damn absurd.

Portland barely made it into the playoffs this year, as their 41-41 record was only a game better than the 40-42 Denver Nuggets. If the eight-seed Blazers are going to shock the world, they will need Damian Lillard to go bonkers. The two-time All-Star point guard averaged career-highs in points (27.0), rebounds (4.9), field goal percentage (44.4%), and free throw percentage (89.5%) this season.

The Blazers sending home the Warriors would probably go down as the biggest upset in NBA history. Golden State went 4-0 against Portland in the regular season, and they are currently listed as a -7000 favorite to advance to the next round.

Wild Vs. Blues Live Stream: How To Watch NHL Playoff Game Online

The St. Louis Blues have dispatched the Minnesota Wild in two straight games. Each playoff game ended with the same result, the Blues winning against the Wild by a score of 2-1. It appears that the Blues have the Wild’s number.

Can the Wild turn things around? Or will the Blues continue their hot streak in St. Louis?

St. Louis Blues’ forward Jaden Schwartz is expecting the Wild to put in their all during today’s game. Schwartz told the St. Louis Post Dispatch that, “We know the last two (victories) are going to be the hardest and it starts in Game 3. “They’re going to throw everything at us and we’re excited to go home for sure. We did a good job so far, but we know it’s going to get a lot tougher.”

Jaden Schwartz is the reason why the Blues won Friday night’s game against the Wild. Schwartz’ goal, at 2:27 remaining in the third period, gave the Blues their second consecutive playoff win against the Wild.

Blues goalie Jack Allen is happy about their two back-to-back wins against the Wild, but he’s not completely satisfied (not one bit). “We’ve still got a ways to go,” Allen told the Post-Dispatch. “I don’t think we’re satisfied with the way we’re playing yet. A huge two wins for us, but we haven’t seen our best. We got two wins, you’re definitely happy about that, but we need a little bit better effort and I think we’re going to get it.”

How in the world can the Wild turn things around? Well, Wild left wing Zach Parise suggests the one way to win is to not dwell on your loses. “You’ve got to look small picture right now and outside of just trying to do things better, correct a few things here and there,” said Parise. “You can’t dwell. You can’t think about Games 1 and 2 right now, just worry about [Game] 3 and not worry about Game 4. Just Game 3 right now, and then go from there. It’s a little disheartening what happened in the first two, but it’s over.”

Who will win round 1, game 3 of the NHL Playoffs? Look below and find out how to live stream today’s game between the Blues and the Wild on your computer, TV, tablet or mobile device.

Boston Celtics vs. Chicago Bulls Live Stream: How To Watch NBA Playoffs Online

The Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls will kick off their first round Eastern Conference playoffs series on Easter Sunday. This series might not look too entertaining on paper, but it’s always cool seeing two prestigious franchises duke it out. And if the series ends up being boring, you can always just watch this on a loop for two weeks straight.

The Celtics earned the one-seed in the Eastern Conference after going 53-29 in the regular season. They are lead by two-time All-Star Isaiah Thomas, who averaged a career-high 28.9 points, 5.9 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game. The 5’9″ point guard has a knack for coming through in crunch time with ridiculously clutch shots.

The upset-minded Chicago Bulls went 41-41 to just sneak into the playoffs with the eight-seed in the East. They made it by the skin of their teeth, as they owned the tiebreaker over the 41-41 Miami Heat. If the Bulls are going to shock the world, they will need Jimmy Butler to play out of his mind. The 27-year-old made his third straight All-Star game after averaging career highs in points (23.9), rebounds (6.2), and assists (5.5).

Vegas thinks Boston is a lock to advance past the Bulls, as they are currently -900 favorites. But the Bulls did play the Celtics tough in the regular season, going 2-2 against them with the home team winning every game in the series.

Now that the stage has been set, let’s breakdown all of the different ways you can watch Game 1 of the Celtics vs. Bulls Eastern Conference playoffs series.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. New York Yankees Live Stream: How To Watch MLB Online

On an Easter edition of Sunday Night Baseball, the red-hot New York Yankees (7-4) will try to sweep the St. Louis Cardinals (3-8) in the finale of their three-game series. New York took the first two games by scores of 4-3 and 3-2, and the Bronx Bombers have now won six straight since an ugly 1-4 start to the season.

Taking the ball for the Yankees tonight will be Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde himself Michael Pineda. In Pineda’s first start, he was saddled with the loss after getting shelled by the Rays in Tampa. He gave up four earned runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out six batters over 3.2 innings. But in his very next start, Pineda was absolutely dazzling. He picked up the win after holding Tampa to one earned run on two hits and no walks while striking out 11 batters over 7.2 innings. Go figure with this dude.

Adam Wainwright will be toeing the bump for the Cardinals, and the 35-year-old veteran’s hardships have continued in 2017. After missing virtually all of the 2015 season due to injury and having a brutal 2016 campaign, Wainwright hasn’t exactly hit the ground running this year. He’s gone 0-2 in his first two starts with a 7.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP while striking out nine batters over nine innings.

Now that we’ve looked at the pitching matchup, let’s breakdown all of the different ways you can watch tonight’s game.

The Blue Jackets are defending their home turf against the Pittsburgh Penguins. These Penguins have been on a roll, besting the Blue Jackets by significant margins in both playoff games. This Pittsburgh team only seems to be getting better, as they defeated Columbus 3-1 on Wednesday, and then 4-1 on Friday.

You’d think the Blue Jackets would be feeling, well, pretty damn blue. But that’s not the mood at all in the Jackets locker-room. The team from Columbus appear optimistic in their third playoff game against Pittsburgh. Blue Jackets Captain Nick Foligno told NHL.com, “I can say it was probably the weirdest ride home, only that we’re down 2-0 and obviously not really enjoying the situation we’re in, but the optimism in our room is incredible and how we feel about our game.”

Foligno continued to promote a positive outlook, as he added, “That’s the feeling in the room. We’re not down. We’re excited coming home. We’re going to have our fans behind us. It’s amazing what that can do for a club.”

The Blue Jackets have defeated the Penguins twice in the Nationwide Arena this year. But these aren’t the same Jackets who started 2017 with a 16-game winning streak. Now, they find themselves on the losing end in their series against the Penguins. But hey, at least they’re remaining positive.

Can the Blue Jackets turn around this losing streak in their own backyard? Look below and find out how to live stream the Penguins vs. the Blue Jackets on your computer, TV, tablet or mobile device.
