The Most Delicious Memes Of National Grilled Cheese Day 2017 (You’re Welcome)

0
0

Today, April 12, is National Grilled Cheese. It’s not like Americans needed an excuse to eat unhealthy, artery clogging fried cheese sandwiches, but we’ve got one now. Let’s make the most of it, shall we?

National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day is observed annually on April 12th. Unsurprisingly, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches are among one of the top comfort foods in the United States. Just look at them, with their melting cheese and toasted bread. They’re one damn good looking treat.

According to food historians, cooked bread and cheese is stretches back for centuries, enjoyed across the world in many cultures.  The United States modern version of the grilled cheese sandwich originated in the 1920s when inexpensive sliced bread and American cheese became easily available. Originally it was made as an open-faced sandwich. Its popularity probably coincided with the Great Depression, but at least we can look back at that financial crisis and say one good thing came of it.

United States government cookbooks describe Navy cooks broiling “American cheese filling sandwiches” during World War II. Nothing feels better after a long day of war and death than a cheesy sandwich.

Grilled cheese sandwiches are versatile thanks to the ability to mix and match cheeses, bread, and seasonings.  Adding sauteed vegetables or herb-infused oils can elevate this simple comfort food to a whole other level. Or, you can just throw bacon in that bad boy and call it a day. Either way, you can’t go wrong.

So enjoy National Grilled Cheese Day and be sure to check out the hilarious gallery above.

NBA Playoffs Schedule 2017: Dates, Times & TV Channels

The NBA Playoffs will tip off on Saturday, April 15. Get hype, people. It’s going DOWN this year. Don’t believe me? Well, then you’re a fool. This year’s post-season has majorly juicy storylines to follow.

With Kevin Durant back in action, can any team really stand against the Golden State Warriors or will they claim their second ring in three seasons? They’re the favorites for a good reason.

Will LeBron James orchestrate a rebound for the Cleveland Cavaliers following an ugly second half of the season? James has appeared in every Finals since 2010, but the Cavs are locked in a dead heat with the Boston Celtics for the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Can Mr. Triple Double Russell Westbrook really carry a middling Oklahoma City Thunder team in the playoffs with his relentless style? Or will the MVP candidate see his team get bounced early on?

So many questions with answers coming soon.

The NBA Playoff Bracket is all set after the NBA wrapped up yet another scintillating season. But we’re not here to discuss Russell Westbrook’s triple-doubles or James Harden’s slashing threes. We’re here to talk about what matters most when it comes to professional basketball: the post-season. Record and awards go out the window come April. Kobe Bryant said it best when matter-of-factly stated: “You either win a championship or you’re sh*t.”

Keeping that in mind, here are the 18 teams that will be clawing each other’s eyes out to raise that banner. Naturally, the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers are the favorites to meet (again) in the Finals. But the San Antonio Spurs are always dangerous out West and the Boston Celtics continue to overachieve in the East.

Get ya popcorn ready, folks.

Charlie Murphy Cause of Death: How Did Comedian Die?

Charlie Murphy, comedian and older brother of Eddie Murphy, passed away after a battle with leukemia Wednesday morning. He was 57.

Charlie Murphy Cause of Death

According to Charlie’s manager, the popular stand-up comedian died from leukemia Wednesday morning in a New York City hospital. He’d been undergoing chemotherapy. Relatives told TMZ they are “absolutely shocked” by the news as his condition appeared to be improving. These are Murphy’s last two tweets.

Many of his co-workers on Power weren’t aware of his diagnosis as Murphy kept it very private. Production sources on the show – which stars 50 Cent – told TMZ they had no idea he was battling cancer. Charlie played a prison guard named Charlie on the show.

TMZ reports that only very close friends and family members were made aware of Charlie’s disease.

Charlie famously appeared on Chappelle’s Show in some of of the show’s most memorable sketches, including his hilarious stories about Rick James and Prince.

Charlie also co-wrote several of Eddie’s movies such as Norbit and Vampire in Brooklyn. He had notable roles in Are We There YetThe Boondocks and Black Jesus. Recently, Charlie toured with comedians Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, George Lopez and D.L. Hughley on “The Comedy Get Down.” His stand-up special, Charlie Murphy: I Will Not Apologize, premiered on Comedy Central in late February 2010.

Murphy was born in Brooklyn, New York City. After serving ten months in jail, Murphy enlisted in the Navy in 1978. He served for six years as a Boiler Technician. In 1983, shortly before his Navy discharge, Murphy saw a mushroom cloud over Beirut. Later, he learned that it was the aftereffects of the Beirut barracks bombing which killed 307 people/

Though he had small parts in movies and TV at the start of his entertainment career, his first major film role came in 1993’s CB4.

He was married to Tisha Taylor Murphy from 1997 until her death from cervical cancer in 2009. She had reportedly been battling the disease for two years. He opened up about her diagnosis in 2015 saying:

I came home and she’s in the kids’ room, crying. That’s when she told me. Cervical cancer. You don’t really grasp it. When the person tells you they’re going to die, you go crazy. You become a different person from the moment you hear those words…

A young woman like that — don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t do drugs. I know people that’s ninety who do all of that…

She’s a very organized woman. When she died, all the arrangements had been made. She made her own arrangements.

They are survived by their two children, Ava and Xavier, and another child Murphy had from a previous relationship.

Charlie Murphy passed away today at the age of 57 after losing his battle with leukemia.

The older brother of Eddie Murphy, Charlie rose to fame after his Chappelle’s Show skits produced some of the funniest bits of comedy of the new millennium.

Chappelle had dozens of memorable skits, but there is NO question that Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories are Chappelle’s most famous sketches. In a way, Charlie Murphy was hugely responsible for Chappelle’s rise to stardom with his tales from Hollywood decades ago.

Today, in honor of Charlie Murphy, we remember him with the skits that made him famous: Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories.

Charlie also co-wrote several of Eddie’s movies such as Norbit and Vampire in Brooklyn. He had notable roles in Are We There YetThe Boondocks and Black Jesus. Recently, Charlie toured with comedians Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, George Lopez, and D.L. Charlie Murphy passed away Wednesday morning of leukemia at 57-years-old. He may be gone, but he left us with some very funny moments and one-liners.

The world is missing yet another funnyman. He’s battle with cancer ended in a New York City hospital today. But at least, his comedy will live on forever.

Who could forget Charlie’s hilarious moments on The Chappelle Show. He got schooled by Prince on the b-ball court and got slapped around by Rick James for no good reason (because he’s Rick James, b*tch!).

He’s co-written movies like Norbit and Vampire in Brooklyn alongside his brother Eddie. He’s also had hilarious roles in The Boondocks, Are We There Yet?, and Black Jesus.

Rest in peace, Charlie Murphy. Your brand of humor will not be forgotten.

Another celebrated comedian has passed from this Earth. Charlie Murphy will be remembered for his words and moments in film and on television.

On Wednesday morning, he passed away from Leukemia in a New York City hospital. He was only 57-years-old.

Charlie contributed many great quotes to this world, whether comedic or serious. Many of us will remember him for his stories about Prince and Rick James on The Chappelle Show.

Murphy has also left lasting lasting moments on The Boondocks, Black Jesus, and Are We There Yet? The world will definitely miss Charlie’s brand of comedy.

Charlie Murphy: Best Quotes & Famous Sayings

“Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.”

“Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else.”

“I’m sorry, if you were right, I’d agree with you.”

“Any girl can be glamorous. All you have to do is stand still and look stupid.”

“Progress is man’s ability to complicate simplicity.”

“I get out the Navy, my brother’s famous, his fame is exploding. I’m real proud of that. You know what I mean. I’m getting to hang out with people that I only read about in magazines and seen on the screen somewhere. I’m standing next to them, being at dinner tables with them. And you know it was a bugout, man. And you know, I was a huge Rick James fan. That’s the first person that I would say that out of all the celebrities that I met, that I was starstruck.”

“We got closer, started hanging out. My brother… didn’t do any of this sh*t. So at night when Eddie would break out, we would all be doin’, getting crazy and wild. And if I was hanging with Rick, he had this thing with me where he used to always like f*ck with me, man. I don’t know what started it.”

“Things escalated to the point where, you know, my man got too familiar and I’d ended up having to whoop his ass, man, you know. Because he would step across the line. Habitually. He’s a habitual linestepper.”

Eddie and everybody else thought that that was the funniest sh*t. And so that threw me in a weird space cause I’m like ‘Yeah, this is Rick James, he’s a star.’

NHL Playoffs 2017 Schedule: Round 1 Bracket, Games & Must-See Details

0
0

While May brings May showers, April brings the Stanley Cup playoffs. The teams are locked in as the first round kicks off. This round is one of four, as each team will have to get four wins in all four rounds if they want to hoist Lord Stanley’s Cup. Each team has its own reason for wanting to win, be it for back-to-back titles, to end a cup drought, or to gain a first Stanley Cup title.

The Stanley Cup is one of the most prestigious awards that a team can get in the world of sports, and it is the hardest one to achieve. Many teams in this year’s playoffs have already have had the chance of claiming the Cup, and each one can tell you how sweet that feeling was. It is the only trophy in the four American sports that you actually have to give back at the start of a new season, which adds to drive to keep it or get it back again.

The Stanley Cup playoffs can be the most grueling, heart-wrenching, tear-jerking, yet simultaneously satisfying of all the major sports post-seasons. The 2017 NHL playoffs should bring any hockey fan joy and delight (joy and delight may vary depending on home teams performance), but one thing is for sure, there is a whole lot of hockey to play.

Josh Brolin has been cast in the role of the time traveling cyber-enhanced mutant Cable in the upcoming Deadpool 2 opposite Ryan Reynolds, according to TheWrap.

The part was highly sought after following the surprise breakout success of Deadpool back in 2016. Everyone from heavy hitters (Brad Pitt, Russell Crowe, Jon Hamm) to more under-the-radar names (Michael Harbour, Stephen Lang, Ron Pearlman) were linked to the role at one point or another.

Brolin is no stranger to the superhero genre. He’s famously been seen (heard?) around the edges of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Thanos in The Avengers films and played the titular in anti-hero in DC’s Jonah Hex (though the less said about that movie, the better).

Thanos, however, is part of Disney’s MCU while Deadpool belongs to 20th Century Fox’s separate X-Men universe.

Reaction

This is a rock solid choice that has little chance of failing. Think of it as a safe first-round pick with a high floor. Sure, Michael Shannon may have brought a tad more nuance to the role, but Brolin is perfectly suited for the role.

Cable is a no-nonsense badass in the comics, the straight man to Wade Wilson’s comedian. Brolin practically embodies Cable’s gruff, rough-and-tumble qualities at this point in his career. No Country For Old MenAmerican Gangster, Sicario, etc. all prove he can be a physical yet subtle presence. His droll delivery and dry sense of humor (Inherent Vice, Hail! Caesar, Men in Black 3) will work wonders when paired with Reynolds’ blabber mouth silliness.

It is interesting, however, that Fox went with a solid actor who isn’t much of a movie star in the sense of drawing power. Gangster SquadJonah Hex and Oldboy were all (ahem) disappointments at the box office.

Brolin is an Oscar nominee (Milk) and a steady performer. It’s a good hire overall and Twitter seems to agree.

Canadiens vs. Rangers Live Stream: How To Watch NHL Playoff Game Online

The NHL 2017 hockey playoffs are underway with the original six teams set to clash. The Canadiens and the Rangers are not new to playoff matchups as they have faced each other fourteen times in the postseason. The last time these two teams met was back in 2014, where the Rangers were able to defeat the Habs and move on to the Stanley Cup Final.

Montreal is out for blood, even though they retain the title for most Stanley Cup wins, they are going on a 25-year Stanley Cup drought. While there are other teams that have suffered longer droughts (looking at you Toronto), this team has winning in its history, so this year’s playoffs mean a lot to the Habs and the fans. The Canadiens are looking to bring the cup back to Ville de Montreal, but they have to win big here if they want a shot at lord Stanley.

The Rangers also seem to be suffering a twenty-year long drought, as the cup has not been brought back to the Big Apple since 1994. While the Rangers had a chance at it back in 2014, they were crushed by the Los Angeles Kings.Don’t be fooled by the wild card spot that the Rangers secured, for they finished the season with only one point behind Montreal. The Rangers can turn it on if they need to, but if they wanna win they have to keep the burner turned up throughout the playoffs.

Original Six matchups in the playoffs are what makes hockey great, and this series sure will have a lot of blood, sweat, and maybe even tears by the end of it. With two monster goalies on both teams, this is truly a series you cannot miss.

Now that you know a little bit about the matchup, let’s break down all of the ways you can watch the game.

Bruins vs. Senators Live Stream: How To Watch NHL Playoff Game Online

The Bruins and the Senators will go head to head in the first game of the first round of the 2017 NHL Playoffs. This will be the first time that these two teams will face off in the post-season. The Senators were able to take home a win all four times these two met during the regular season, so the Bruins are not looking to repeat past mistakes. While both teams were able to punch a postseason ticket, neither team had a great regular season record, so many are wondering how far either team can actually go. These two underdogs are both vying for a second round spot as well as a chance to silence their haters.

The Bruins are back in the playoffs after missing them for the past two years. This 2011 Stanley Cup-winning team just can’t seem to be consistent. While the 2013 Cup loss to the Blackhawks still showed that this team should be a contender each year, they seem to have lost the mojo that propelled them forward. Year after year the Bruins seemed to shoot themselves in the foot by making bad trades and questionable moves. Halfway through the 2017 season, many thought the Bruins would miss the playoffs for a third year after they fired a coach Claude Julien. Boston did find a resurgence in the latter half of the season, yet they still are inconsistent when it comes to wins and performances. This six-time Stanley cup winning team looked like they had a fall from grace, but this post-season could jump start the Bruins’ winning mentality, depending on how far they go.

The Senators are still a fairly young team, having been brought into the league in the 1992 season. It took a while for the Ottawa team to make the playoffs, but since the ’96 season, the Senators have only missed the playoffs twice. However post-season luck never seemed to be able to rub off on the senators as they were only able to make it past the second round once, which led to a Stanley cup loss to the Ducks. Ottawa is looking to make a stand and make past the second round with a possible return to the finals. The Senators will try to take baby steps to reach their end goal, and Boston stands in the way of Ottawa being able to punch their ticket to the second round. The competition only gets tougher and tougher the longer you last in the postseason, so the Senators need to prove they have the stuff to compete with other veteran postseason teams. Ottawa is not looking to have another season go down with a first round lost.

With Bruins looking to reclaim their former glory and the Senators hoping to not repeat history, these two teams will be giving it their all in order to advance to the second round. If you want to watch this game, check below to see how you can catch it online.

Saoirse Ronan Photos: Must-See Pictures of Actress

Saoirse Ronan is a two-time Academy Award nominated actress despite being all of 23. Yeah, she’s accomplished more in her short life than you have ever. Feel bad about that.

Ronan was surprisingly born in The Bronx, New York, but moved to Ireland when she was three years old. Thankfully, the bright lights of Hollywood were able to bring this gorgeous actress back stateside.

Ronan made her screen debut in 2003 on Irish public service broadcast RTE and in the prime time medical drama The Clinic. Never heard of them? That’s okay, neither have we. Don’t sweat it. Fun fact: during this time, Ronan also auditioned to play Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Sadly, she lost the role to Evanna Lynch.

At 12, Ronan beat out a slew of other young actresses for the role of Briony Tallis in Atonement alongside Keira Knightley and James McAvoy. At the time, Ty Burr of The Boston Globe called her performance “remarkable and eccentric.” The part would earn Ronan her first Academy Award nomination, this one for Best Supporting Actress.

Notable roles followed in big time movies such as The Lovely Bones (2009), The Way Back (2010) and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). However, her most acclaimed role to date was as the lead in 2015’s Brooklyn, which was nominated for three Oscars and saw Ronan score a nomination for Best Actress.

Going forward, Ronan can be seen in Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird, Ian McEwan’s On Chesil Beach, and in the animated Loving Vincent.

Blues vs. Wild Live Stream: How To Watch NHL Playoff Game Online

0
0

The Blues and the Wild are set to square off and it should be an interesting matchup as both teams have playoff demons. Both teams in this series have a combined total of zero Stanley Cups, and both seem to always come so close to the Stanley Cups finals. These two teams have their eyes locked on the cup and will try to climb over the other to hopefully bring it home.

The Blues always seem to be just on the edge of greatness. Last year they were able to push past the Blackhawks and Stars and make it to their first conference finals since 2001. Sadly, the Sharks snatched away the Blues’ chances of making it to their first Stanley cup final since 1970. With a new year come new opportunities and the Blues are coming off of a strong season, so they may just brush past the teams that they face and possibly make it back to the finals. With 25-1 odds to win it all, St Louis will try to overcome the obstacles one step at a time.

The Wild have a similar story to the Blues, but not such a long history. After coming into the league in 2001, the Wild seemed to always be so close to the playoffs but missed it two years in a row. Minnesota was finally able to make it all the way to the conference finals before being shut out by the Ducks. Over the years, they’ve had a spotty history of making and not making the postseason. Since 2012 the teams seems to always make it, but either loses in the first or second round. This year, however, the Wild seems to have a solid team and have given nothing but solid performances, and with some smart trades throughout the year, they’ve built a roster that is tough to beat. They will need to have all hands on deck and use all the weapons in their artillery if they want to add a trip to the Stanley Cup finals to their history.

The Blues and The Wild are looking to correct past postseason mistakes and push for a shot at the Cup. While the odds are not in either team’s favor, these two teams have still have a shot to keep their postseason alive.

New Texas Football Coach Tom Herman Hangs Preposterous Piss Chart In Locker Room

0
0

Texas University, one of the premiere college football programs in the country, hasn’t been up to par the last couple of years, at least by their standards.

That’s all expected to change with the arrival of former University of Houston head coach Tom Herman, who was hired in November of 2016.

In his two seasons as Houston head coach, Herman compiled a record of 22-4, and was one of the most sought-after candidates on the market this season. And now that Herman has arrived at Texas, people are starting to see what exactly makes him such a … uh … unique coach. And when I say unique, I mean he tests his player’s piss to make sure they’re sufficiently hydrated, and if they’re not, he publicly shames them in front of the rest of the team.

Is it a little weird? Sure. But weird doesn’t necessarily mean bad. Les Miles eats grass, and LSU was pretty damn good for a long time. Texas would be thrilled if they got the next Les Miles, and at least testing piss has more tangible value than eating grass.

Do I expect this to help with their on-field performance? No — but this is more of a discipline move, and I can see a quirky little technique like this working. After all, it’s really only about drinking more water, so how hard could that be?

Gent Zuid Bomb Threat: Full Story & Must-See Details

The Gent Zuid shopping center in Belgium has been evacuated following a bomb scare. The area has been shut down and public transport has been suspended around Woodrow Wilsonplein.

What Happened?

Officers have rushed to the Gent Zuid shopping center to clear the area and shut down public transport. A driver reportedly called police after finding something stuck to one of the parcels in his delivery van.

It is unknown at this time if the caller is an employee of the shopping center.

Army and police bomb squad officials swept into the area after being told that an explosive device had been discovered. Authorities cleared Woodrow Wilson square and stopped all traffic.

A massive 200m perimeter has been erected around the area. Ghent police told VTM NEWS they were investigating a bomb threat.

Buses on the square have been routed through R40.

Belgium has been on high alert since last March when metro stations and an airport were attacked by ISIS jihadis.

The attacks claimed 32 lives and injured dozens more, making it the deadliest terror bombings in Belgium’s history.

8-Year-Old Kid Steals Dad’s Car To Joyride To Mickey Ds, Is Coolest Kid Ever

Every single one of us once had the desire to steal our parents car and head straight to McDonalds for some tasty goodness when we were kids. The only problem was we didn’t have the balls or the know-how to pull off such a Mission: Impossible-type of heist. That’s where this 8-year-old boy comes in and puts all of our childhood shenanigans to shame.

This young boy from Ohio was Jonesing for a cheeseburger real bad, so he grabbed his four-year-old sister and took his father’s fan from his home to a McDonalds in East Palestine over the weekend. This little dude is making pure power moves and is obviously a future Fortune 500 CEO.

The Weirton Daily Times reports that the kid’s parents were sleeping at the time (classic old people).

Naturally, McDonalds employees thought it was a joke at first when this 8-year-old kid rolled up to the Drive-Through window after ordering a cheeseburger. The cutest thing about his secret mission: he planned to use his piggy bank money to buy the food. What a baller.

East Palestine Patrolman Jacob Koehler responded to the McDonalds call. He said, “The workers thought that the parents were in the back, but obviously they weren’t.”

“I think there is a good teaching point here. With the way technology is anymore kids will learn how to do anything and everything.

“This kid learned how to drive on YouTube. He probably looked it up for five minutes and then said it was time to go.”

Koehler told the paper that witnesses said the boy obeyed all traffic laws (every criminal mastermind knows you don’t blow the heist of the century because you forgot to use your signal).

“He didn’t hit a single thing on the way there. It was unreal.”

The boy started crying when he was told that he had done something wrong. Cheer up, little buddy. You’re easily the coolest kid in the entire world right now. How good are those fries, dude?

The children got to eat their precious McDonalds while they waited for their parents and grandparents.

No charges have been filed.
