Jimmy Kimmel Tearfully Remembers Don Rickles With Emotional Eulogy

$

On Thursday, April 6, legendary comedian Don Rickles passed away at the age of 90 years old.

Known worldwide for his hilariously insulting brand of comedy, not a soul was safe from Rickles’ riffs, not even the great Frank Sinatra.

Due to the cold nature of his jokes, Don was ironically dubbed “Mr. Warmth.” Rickles performed on the stage and in front of the camera since the late 1950s. And even in the new millennium, his comedy was still kicking. Remember Mr. Potato Head from the Toy Story films? Yupp — played by Don Rickles. My mind was blown too. Don played Mr. Potato Head for all four films, with his last film, Toy Story 4, hitting theaters in 2019.

Now, despite his seemingly crude exterior, it seems as though everyone who knew him swears that the man on the inside was as kind as they come.

Add late night host Jimmy Kimmel to that list, as his tearful eulogy of Rickles gives us a glimpse into what kind of man he truly was.

RIP Don.

RED ALERT: OLIVIA MUNN IS SINGLE

$

2017 has been a YUGE year for breakups. First, Scarlett Johansson and now Olivia Munn? What a time to be alive. Olivia Munn has that 2008 Megan Fox sexiness to her, and if you were around for 2008 Megan Fox, then you know exactly what I’m talking about.

Munn, the 36-year-old actress, and Aaron Rodgers, the 33-year-old Green Bay Packers quarterback, who dated since 2014, have officially broken up.

Via People:

“They have amicably ended their relationship of three years,” a source close to the situation confirms to PEOPLE exclusively. The source says the couple “remains close friends and wish nothing but the best for each other moving forward.”

I’ve been on the record as saying I was embarrassingly late to the Olivia Munn train, and that’s something I’m going to have to live with for the rest of my life. But now, after being unwoke to Munn for far too long, she’s now concretely in my top five or six chicks I’d like to spend a night with. Throw in the fact that she got her start in gaming and comedy and that she’s an alleged FREAK, and you have yourself one of the most appealing women on the planet.

So, boys, to the victor go the spoils (not sure if that applies here, but it’s a sweet way to wrap up an article).

According to multiple Swedish news outlets, at least five people were killed on Friday, April 7, when a large truck slammed into a department store in central Stockholm and a gunman began to open fire.

Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter reports the attack happened occurred around 3:00 P.M. on Drottninggatan (Queen Street), one of the city’s main pedestrian streets. Swedish radio also reports three people dead in the crash while Swedish broadcaster SVT reports shots have been fired.

Stockholm police have only confirmed minor injuries from the incident so far.

Via Daily Mail:

Up to five people are believed to have been killed when a stolen truck rammed into shoppers in Stockholm today. Police said the vehicle crashed into a group of people on the street outside a shopping centre. Shots were heard being fired and the driver, who was wearing a balaclava, is said to have escaped, according to witnesses.

There were also reports of shots at a second incident. A Swedish radio reporter said she had seen at least five dead bodies, Aftonbladet reported. The truck is understood to have been stolen or hijacked from a Spendrups brewery.

Prime Minister Stefan Löfven immediately confirmed that the incident was a terror attack. The incident took place at Ahlens Mall in Klarabergsgatan.

A minimum of three people were killed and eight have been seriously injured Friday when a large truck crashed into a department store in central Stockholm, Swedish media reports. The Swedish Prime Minister has referred to the events as a “terror attack.”

What Happened?

A lorry truck, which was hijacked, slammed into a department store in central Stockholm, Sweden, on Friday. The incident took place around 3:00 P.M. on Drottninggatan (Queen Street), one of the city’s most populated pedestrian streets, according to the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter.

Swedish media is reporting that at least three people died as a result. Swedish broadcaster SVT reports that shots have been fired at the scene. Police have only confirmed the injuries at this time, Reuters reports.

One person has reportedly been arrested, though the police have yet to confirm that, and the Swedish Prime Minister is classifying the incident as a terrorist attack. “Sweden has been attacked, everything points to an act of terror” says Löfven in a brief statement.

Shots have also been fired in another part of the city, BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner said, citing security sources. It is unknown at this time if the two incidents are related.

Swedish brewery Spendrups said its lorry had been stolen on its way to a restaurant delivery.

“Someone jumped into the driver’s cabin and drove off with the vehicle while the driver was unloading,” a brewery spokesperson told the TT news agency.

One eyewitness told the BBC she was in the shop’s fitting room when she heard the screams. “There was blood everywhere,” she said.

The city’s central station has been evacuated and the metro has also been suspended.

Amazon’s ‘The Grind’ Shows Raw Potential In Series Premiere

What draws us to crime dramas? What is it about the illicit and illegal that catches our eye? Is it fantasy escapism, the wish to be someone of importance? Or is it something more primal, a desire to shrug off the rules of society and indulge in every passing whim? Tony Soprano wasn’t a man to be admired, but, at times, he was a man to be envied. Amazon’s new series The Grind doesn’t paint its seedy underworld or its main character – Grayden Carter – in quite the same addictive moth-to-the-flame light, but it does begin to ask why these people do the things they do.

The Grind plops its audience into a New York City-based auto-theft syndicate that has the police and FBI nipping at its heels. We’re quickly introduced to the main players – Grayden, Henry, A-Town, Marcel, Samantha and Denise. None of them really come off as sympathetic characters, not even Grayden, who has just returned from a potentially undeserving six-year prison stint. The premiere’s 33-minute run time cuts down each character’s introduction to the barest of bones. Worn-out archetypes such as the crime boss, the undercover snitch and the “making my own justice” hero are meant to ensnare our interest, but aren’t given enough room to operate. The audience needs someone to anchor them down to justify an emotional investment.

These are roughly sketched characters to start that are mirrored by the show’s rougher technical edges. The sound quality drops in and out at times, removing you from the moment. I won’t fault a series for working on a lower budget, but The Grind‘s walk-and-talk voice over on the NYC streets is a bit distracting.

But still, The Grind shows promise. Writer/director and creator Brendan Kyle Cochrane began his career as a production assistant on A Bronx Tale and you can see where he tries to infuse the DNA of gangster projects past in The Grind. The washed out grays of the city help establish a street-level tone and the methodical mass of machinery crushing steel in a junkyard is enjoyably gangster 101. The show feels like it belongs in the setting it’s trying to create.

Much of that has to do with Cochrane’s framing.

The show opens with tight, over the shoulder shots of a conversation that sees Marcel learn of Grayden’s release. The camera positioning is meant to highlight the importance of this conversation and put the audience right at the center of the scene. It’s almost as if all the action is happening from our point of view. Later, Cochrane shows off his love of wide shots, giving us a look at everything that’s going on while these guys do business and establishing a Big Picture mentality. It’s in these moments when we’re able to take it all in; the dirt and grime of the city and those that inhabit its darker corners.

“No one protects their own,” someone says late in the episode. The line speaks to one of the premiere’s central messages: the sense of power and powerlessness. Grayden wants to protect his family, which is what draws him back into a world he’s promised to leave behind. Henry is forced into feeding information to the Feds, proving what those without power must do to survive, even if its put himself and others in danger. Marcel appears to be the kind of character who will dispose of as many bodies as necessary to keep his power.

Though the characters may not yet be fully developed, The Grind has set them up on a collision course that could help unpack all of the past history merely hinted at in the premiere. That’s enough to give the show a second episode if you ask me.

Why Do We Celebrate National Beer Day On April 7?

Every year, Americans celebrate National Beer Day on April 7. Why do we do this? I’m glad you asked.

National Beer Day is meant to commemorate April 7, 1933, the day that Cullen-Harrison Act went into effect. President Franklin Roosevelt signed the law on March 22, 1933.

“But what did this law do?” you ask with wide eyed excitement. It allowed for the legal sale of beer with an alcohol content of 3.2% or lower, helping to push forward to the end of Prohibition just a few months later. Roosevelt, who clearly was the Frat Star of his day, famously remarked upon signing the law: “I think this would be a good time for a beer.” The Cullen-Harrison Act ended the country’s 13-year long dry spell and the intoxication that followed likely helped many a lucky young men end their own dry spells, if ya know what I mean. Around 1.5 million barrels of beer were consumed in the nation on that first day.

Fast forward to today and lower-alcohol beer, like the kind that the Cullen-Harrison Act promoted, is the biggest seller in the U.S. market.

“By far the largest segment of beer today is the light beer segment and has an average ABV (alcohol by volume) of about 4.2 percent,” Jim McGreevy of the D.C.-based nonprofit Beer Institute told WTOP.

If you couldn’t tell by those Super Bowl commercials, beer is kind of a big deal around these parts.

“Beer across the country is a $253 billion contributor to the U.S. economy, and the amount of beer sold in the U.S. each year could fill the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool over a thousand times,” McGreevy said.

This passion for brewskies was first parlayed into a holiday back in 2009 when Justin Smith of Richmond, Virginia, started a Facebook page for like-minded beer lovers. The page quickly grew in size and was noticed by Colorado Beer Examiner, Eli Shayotovich. Smith’s promotion of the new holiday via various social media outlets was rewarded when the beer drinking app, “Untappd”, created a badge for National Beer Day that rewarded participants that checked a beer into the app on April 7. National Beer Day has since been trending every year on April 7 using the hashtag #NationalBeerDay.

Even Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe recognized the holiday this year so you know it’s legit.

CNN Analyst Uses Dig At Kentucky Basketball To Explain What’s Going On In Syria

CJ Fogler’s Twitter/CNN

As we all know, there is some serious shit going down in Syria. The United States carried out a missile attack on Syria, and it is a very tense and scary time for our country. Viewers who tuned into CNN last night looking for information on the developing situation in Syria were treated to some bonus college basketball humor.

Watch CNN military analyst James “Spider” Marks take a jab at Kentucky basketball to make a point about what’s happening in Syria.

CNN: come for the news, stay for the shots fired at John Calipari! Of all the analogies in the world to make, I cannot believe that Marks decided to go with that one. Talk about an inappropriate time to bitch about the state of college basketball. Missiles are being launched and Marks is worried about 19-year-old kids having the gall to want to be compensated for their talents. Shaking my goddamn head.

Our friends at Busted Coverage found Marks’ CNN bio and they didn’t see any ties between him and Louisville or the SEC. But it does say that the retired Major General “has led many business ventures,” so maybe he’s just looking out for fellow businessman John Higgins.

LaVar Ball Thinks UCLA Didn’t Win It All Because Of Their White Players

Ever since UCLA went down in the NCAA Tournament, it’s been quiet on the LaVar Ball front.

It was nice while it lasted. LaVar Ball is back in the news saying more preposterous things despite the fact his son is no longer playing college basketball.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Daily News, LaVar touched on a couple of issues, including why he thought UCLA lost in the NCAA Tourney.

To the surprise of no one, LaVar placed none of the blame on his own son and all of the blame on … the white kids? Yup, the white kids.

Via LA Daily News:

“Realistically you can’t win no championship with three white guys because the foot speed is too slow,” LaVar Ball said. “I told Lonzo – ‘One of these games you might need to go for 30 or 40 points.’ It turned out the that was the one game. Then once they get to the Elite 8, they’re right there.”

I’m not one to wish ill will on anybody, but LaVar Ball sure is testing my limits. I’ll tell you what — I’m already hoping Lonzo is a complete failure, all because of his loud-mouthed father.

Florida Gators Linebacker Daniel McMillian Arrested On Charges Of Sexual Battery & Kidnapping/False Imprisonment

Daniel McMillian was a linebacker at the University of Florida, who just finished up his senior year as a member of the Gators football team. While most college football players are in the news this time of year due to their status in the upcoming NFL Draft, McMillan is all over the internet for a much darker reason. On Thursday night, McMillian was arrested on charges of sexual battery and kidnapping/false imprisonment.

Via Florida 247 Sports, here are the disturbing details of McMillian’s arrest.

According to a Gainesville Police Department report, the alleged victim is an employee of a company that McMillian was a customer of. She went to McMillian’s apartment for “legitimate professional reasons,” where McMillian reportedly locked her in his room after she entered and exposed his genitals before grabbing her.

The victim was “physically shaking and hysterically crying” while speaking with law enforcement after kicking McMillian in the genitals and fleeing the apartment.

The former Gators player is charged with a first-degree felony for sexual battery and a third-degree felony for kidnapping/false imprisonment. He remained in the Alachua County Jail as of 10:45 a.m. ET on Friday.

Jesus Christ, that sounds awful. Let’s hope that she is ok and that justice is served. McMillan’s bond has been set at $40,000, and we’ll update this post if any new information comes to light.

Model Greice Santo Claims Edmonton Oilers Owner Offered Her A Movie Role For Sex

Greice Santo, a gorgeous Brazilian model and actress, has accused Daryl Katz, the owner of the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers, of offering her millions of dollars and a movie role in exchange for sex.

Santo alleges that Katz, a Canadian billionaire and the financier behind Silver Pictures, promised to help her with her acting career in order to lure her to a hotel room. Santo says although she rejected Katz’s efforts, she still received two wire transfers totaling $35,000.

Via Variety:

The allegations were first disclosed in a defamation lawsuit filed Monday in New York by Santo’s husband, R.J. Cipriani, against a crisis consulting firm hired to represent Katz. Cipriani, a professional gambler and FBI informant, alleges that Glenn Bunting, president of G.F. Bunting & Co., tarnished his reputation in order kill a story about Katz in the New York Post.

Katz’s attorneys have accused Cipriani and Santo of attempting to extort $3 million from Katz as the price for keeping quiet. Katz does not deny meeting with Santo, but has alleged that some elements of her story have been misconstrued.

In addition to airing sordid details from the entertainment world, the lawsuit also spotlights the role of crisis consulting firms, which are often hired to clean up damaging stories for wealthy clients. Cipriani portrays himself as a longtime reliable source for the New York Post. In the suit, he accuses Bunting of damaging his relationship with a New York Post editor by accusing Cipriani of extortion, which Cipriani denies. The Post ultimately did not run a story on Katz.

Santo, who appeared in the first season of the critically-acclaimed television show Jane The Virgin, told the Hawaii Police Department that when she met Katz at a November 2015 photo shoot, he offered her money in exchange for sex.

via @greicesanto Instagram

Katz, 56, is the owner of the Oilers, co-founder of Silver Pictures entertainment, and the founder and chairman of Katz Group of Companies. Married with two children, Katz has a net worth of $4.14 billion. According to Forbes, Katz is the 12th wealthiest Canadian and 534th richest person in the world.

Would Lonzo Ball Rather Be A Laker Or The No. 1 Pick In The Draft?

$
0
0

Shout out to Lonzo Ball for having some hometown loyalty and priorities. Whatever is the opposite of a shout out to LaVar Ball for once again acting a fool. The elder Ball-man is trying to lock in a 10-year, $1 billion shoe deal for his three sons despite the fact that none of them have played a single minute in the NBA. The younger Ball, on the other hand, is proving that money comes second to him behind comfort.

While appearing on ESPNs SportsNation, Ball was asked if he’d rather be the No. 1 overall pick in this summer’s draft or be selected by his hometown Los Angeles Lakers. Here’s what he said.

“I’m going to go with the Lakers. All my family is in L.A., so to be able to play in front of them, I think that would mean more to me.”

Boom, that’s how you start building a positive brand around yourself, not by making boisterous and outlandish statements (unless you’re Conor McGregor).

Although the Lakers have not-so-secretly been tanking this season, they still “only” own the league’s third-worst record with four games to go. In this scenario, that’s an issue. L.A. has a 46.9% chance of landing a top three pick, but if they slide to fourth or lower then they must send the selection to the Philadelphia 76ers as a result of the 2012 Steve Nash trade.

Don’t you hate when ancient history comes back to bite you in the ass?

If that happens, all the Lakers will have is the first-round pick they acquired from the Houston Rockets in the Lou Williams deal, which currently sits at No. 28. Ball is projected to be a top-two pick in June’s draft. Complicating matters even further is the legit shot the Boston Celtics – L.A.’s biggest rival – have at landing the top pick via the Brooklyn Nets. Would Bostonians really embrace Ball knowing he’d rather be in purple and gold? LaVar doesn’t seem to think it’s a big issue.

Via WEEI-FM:

“I want him to be a Laker, but that’s just my opinion. It wouldn’t be like, ‘Oh man he gotta go to Boston.’ I’d love him to stay in L.A. But that’s just me though…

It’s not about me liking [the Celtics] or disliking them. It’s just that we’re west coast guys. I’d love for him to stay on the west coast where his brothers can see him all the time. We’re a real big family. That’s just the only difference. But my son will play for any team on the fact that his goal was to make it to the NBA. So it doesn’t matter what team he plays for.”

We’ll see how it all shakes out in the 2017 NBA Draft on June 22.

Wichita State Moving To AAC For 2017-2018 Season

The Wichita State Shockers are moving on up, as they will join the American Athletic Conference for the upcoming 2017-2018 season. Starting July 1, the Shockers will not be a member of the Missouri Valley Conference for the first time since the 1945-1946 season.

While it’s always sad to see a school leave a conference that they’ve had so much history with, this is definitely a great move for the Shockers. It’s hard to imagine that they would have gotten royally screwed in this past year’s NCAA Tournament with a ridiculous 10-seed if they were playing in a more well-respected conference.

Here’s ESPN with the logistics of how everything will shake out.

Wichita State will join the AAC in all sports, except football, giving the AAC both a 12-team football and basketball league. The AAC has 11 all-sports members (Cincinnati, UConn, East Carolina, Houston, Memphis, South Florida, SMU, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa and Central Florida) and Navy is a football-only member. Wichita State has not had a football team since 1986.

Because of Wichita State’s basketball success, the Shockers were an attractive target for the AAC. Wichita State has been to six consecutive NCAA tournaments, winning at least one game in the past five tournaments and reaching the 2013 Final Four.

That works out pretty damn perfectly. Congrats to the Shockers and Gregg Marshall on their move to the AAC. I know that Lynn Marshall’s crazy ass has already popped some celebratory champagne.

Asma Al-Assad Photos: Must-See Pictures of Bashar al-Assad’s Wife

Asma Al-Assad is the wife of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who assumed power in July 2000. Early in Assad’s rule, Asma was seen favorably by the world media for her emphasis on social and economic development. However, in 2011, Asma’s public perception took a hit when she stayed silent at the onset of the Syrian Civil War. Since 2012, Asma has made fewer and fewer public appearances, though the Syrian government still promotes her on Instagram and she has her own Instagram page.

Asma was born Asma Akhras in London in 1975. Both of her parents are Sunni Muslims from Homs, a city located near the air base President Trump directed missiles at on April 6. According to The Express, Asma’s parents still live in London and her father, Fawaz Akhras, continues to give his daughter and son-in-law counsel.

After graduating college, Asma entered the finance world. First, she worked at Deutsche Bank Group as an economics analyst in hedge funds. This work brought her all over Europe and East Asia. Two years after her graduation, she was hired by J.P. Morgan and worked as an investment banker in London and New York.

At this time, she was already beginning to become involved with Assad. The U.K. Mirror reports that the two met while on family vacations and began dating in 1994 when Assad studied medicine in London. When the pair married in December 2000, Assad had already assumed the presidency. Together, they have two sons and one daughter.

Ashley Parkins Pruitt, a 30-year-old mother of one and former English teacher, pleaded guilty to two counts of sex act or deviant sexual intercourse with a student and two counts of porn distribution to a minor in Blount County, Alabama.

What Happened?

Pruitt, a married teacher and mother of one, pleaded guilty to inappropriate sexual behavior with three of her male high school students.

If she takes a plea agreement, she will be sentenced to 15 years in prison, according to AI.com. Pruitt will have to register as a sex offender and she will also face a $1,000 fine on each count and a $100 Crime Victim Compensation Fee.

Pruitt was originally arrested in November of 2014 after she turned herself in. She admitted to sexual encounters with three different students at Appalachian High School. All three students were in her class at some point.

She had oral sex with one male, who was under age 19, in a car. She told another student age 18 she wanted to take his virginity and sent him sexual messages and nude photos of herself to him on Snapchat. She also “made out” with another student under the age of 19 and sent him nude photos on Snapchat.

Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey told Al.com: “I am pleased we were able to resolve this case before trial. These three boys have already been subjected to enough public scrutiny as a result of Ms. Pruitt’s actions.

“It is not easy for victims of sexual predators to appear at trial to discuss such personal and private matters with 12 jurors and a room full of spectators.”

Who Is Ashley Parkins Pruitt?

Pruitt was an English teacher and head coach for the junior girls basketball team at Appalachian High School. She is married with a young son and lives in Locust Fork, Alabama.

I Am Writing This Article Strictly Because This Man Looks Like A Real Life Cartoon Character

Seriously, when I found this story, my literal first reaction was, “Is that a human’s face?” Well, to my shock and awe, what you see above is indeed human. Sure, he looks like he’s been run over a couple of times with a steamroller, but other than that, this man is, in fact, a human being.

Noel E. Dawson, 63, from North Toledo, is accused of chasing a relative with a hatchet. He has pleaded not guilty.

The Ohio native allegedly chased his relative on Sunday, April 2, with the hatchet. When Dawson swung at him, he hit the man’s truck instead and allegedly left a large dent in the hood.

Dawson was charged with domestic violence, assault, both first-degree misdemeanors; criminal damaging, a second-degree misdemeanor; and failure to disclose personal information, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.

Via Toledo Blade:

Toledo Municipal Court Judge Robert Christiansen set bond at $50,000 Tuesday with no option to post 10 percent. The case was continued to today. Mr. Dawson pleaded not guilty today to the charges.

Mr. Dawson is accused of chasing a family member Sunday with a hatchet. Prosecutors allege he swung the hatchet at the man, but struck his truck instead — leaving a large dent in the hood, according to a complaint filed in Toledo Municipal Court.

Furthermore, when Dawson was being arrested, instead of giving the officers any information, he just shouted obscenities are them instead. Because in case his face didn’t already tip you off, this guy clearly does not give a F*CK.

Pearl Gonzalez: Hottest Photos Of MMA Fighter Pulled From UFC 210 For Having Breast Implants

Pearl Gonzalez is a strawweight MMA fighter, and she was set to make her UFC debut at UFC 210 on April 8, 2017. Gonzalez (6-1) made weight on Friday and everything appeared to be on track for her to face Cynthia Calvillo (4-0), but then the New York State Athletic Commission dropped a bombshell out of nowhere.

What a bunch of bullshit. If you aren’t allowed to fight in New York if you have breast implants, why the hell did they wait so long to tell Gonzalez? It seems like they could have found this out weeks ago and not wasted everybody’s time. Having both Gonzalez and Calvillo go through grueling training camps just to pull the rug out from under them at the last minute is grossly incompetent.

My heart especially goes out to Gonzalez, as this was going to be a huge moment for her career. Kersten Demouchet, an 18-year-old high school student, was forced to stay at her school’s prom even after finding out that her family had just been in a serious car accident.

Demouchet was forced to stay at her Carencro High School prom on Saturday, March 1, after she found out her sister, cousin, one-year-old nephew, and friend were involved in a deadly crash.

School administrators barred her from going to the hospital.

Via KATC:

Saturday night Demouchet’s sister, cousin and nephew were in a car crash in St. Martin Parish. Demouchet’s cousin, nephew and friend died on scene. Her sister, Lakesha Leon was in the hospital and died the next day.

Although relatives, notified Demouchet of the tragedy during prom, Demouchet said school administrators wouldn’t let her leave. Demouchet said she wanted to rush to the hospital immediately. “They didn’t want to let me go,” Demouchet said. “I went to the bathroom and just cried. I kept asking over and over if I could leave and they said no, you can wait.”

Demouchet says she was first told by a friend that her family members might have been involved with a shooting. Administrators tried to verify an incident with police officers at prom. The officers could not verify of an incident that had taken place in St. Martin Parish. When Demouchet said she learned it was a car crash, she notified administrators again. However, the incident was not verified through police.

The reason that Demouchet was held at the prom is because the Lafayette Parish school district enforces a lock-in policy during proms and homecoming dances. While the students can leave during emergencies, they are only allowed to do so if a parent is there to pick them up.

Joe Craig, a spokesman for the Lafayette Parish School District, released a statement:

“In a crisis situation, we’d really be concerned to release a student–first off–without verifying the incident, and–second off–it’s not a good thing to release a teenage driver to go to scene of crisis or catastrophe. We really know it’s a burden on a parent to show up to school, but we really don’t want to make another emergency to release a student in an emergency situation.”

Demouchet is asking theLafayette Parish School board to change the policy.

The New York Mets (1-0) will be taking on their NL East rivals, the Miami Marlins (0-1), in the first meeting of the season. With another strong pitching rotation, the Mets are looking to start the season hot, while the Marlins are aiming to pick up their first win of the year.

Zack Wheeler will be making his first start and opposing him on the mound will be lefty Wei-Yin Chen for Miami. Wheeler is coming off a great spring performance to earn his spot in the Mets’ rotation. The Mets hope Wheeler performs just as well with the injury to right-hander Seth Lugo, who has a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament in his pitching arm.

The Marlins come into this season optimistic and hoping to turn things around from years past. The loss of Jose Fernandez was devastating to the whole nation, and Miami looks to the addition of Edinson Volquez to assist the pitching rotation.

With these division rivals about to battle it out, here are all of the ways to watch the action.
