Gillian Jacobs Instagram Photos: Must-See Pictures Of ‘Love’ Star

Gillian Jacobs, 34, is the kind of actress that you recognize but may not know her name. She is best known for playing Britta Perry on the NBC/Yahoo! Screen comedy Community – which, despite being excellent, was never much of a ratings hit – and as Mickey Dobbs on the Netflix series Love. Both shows are/were quality projects that are/were criminally under watched so get out there and binge.

Jacobs also has a recurring role as Mimi-Rose Howard on the HBO series Girls and has also appeared in films such as Garden of the Night (2008), The Lookalike (2014), Hot Tub Time Machine 2 (2015), Don’t Think Twice (2016) and Brother Nature (2016). Though she’s been active in the acting game since 2005, neither of her parents come from entertainment backgrounds. That makes Jacobs a completely homegrown talent which we fully support.

Best known in quirky fun girl roles, Jacobs may be underrated as a full fledged beauty. We hope to spread awareness about this dangerous condition because, as you can see in the gallery above, Jacobs is absolutely gorgeous. She also happens to be hilarious and talented and the real standout of the well cast Love. So, general public, stop sleeping on Gillian Jacobs. She’s hot and awesome!

Georgetown Hires Patrick Ewing And All Is Right With The World

Georgetown University has hired Hoya all-time legend and NBA Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing as its next head coach. The hiring comes after Georgetown dismissed John Thompson III, who was fired on March 23 following thirteen seasons as the Hoyas head coach.

Ewing is currently an assistant coach for the Charlotte Hornets but will leave the team and begin his Georgetown tenure immediately. Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that he has agreed to a multi-year deal.

“Ewing has been dutifully studying the vastly different job requirements of running a college program, talking with, among others, college coaches who made the jump from professional basketball backgrounds…,” Woj wrote. “Ewing has been gathering information on potential assistant coaches, working to find a staff that’ll balance his inexperience in recruiting. Those who have talked with Ewing in the past week believe that he’s fully understanding of the consuming nature of big-time college recruiting and is prepared to immerse himself in it.”

The Big Man has the requisite track record for a dramatic move such as this. He’s been an NBA assistant coach for 15 seasons and worked under Jeff and Stan Van Gundy and Steve Clifford. Icing on the cake, however, is Ewing’s past history with the Hoyas. The center was a three-time All-American for Georgetown and led the team to a 1984 national championship. Becoming one of the greatest New York Knicks after being drafted No. 1 overall in 1985 doesn’t hurt either.

Congratulations to Ewing and the Georgetown program. No go out there and be better than the 14-18 team you were this year.

Cleveland Indians vs. Texas Rangers Live Stream: How To Watch Opening Day Online

The Opening Day action is rolling right along on ESPN, as the Cleveland Indians will head to Arlington for a showdown with the Texas Rangers. Both of these teams were division champs last year, with Cleveland going 94-67 to win the AL Central and Texas taking the AL West with a 95-67 record.

In the 2016 playoffs, the Rangers were swept 3-0 by the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS, while the Indians were heartbreakingly close to winning it all. Cleveland blew a 3-1 lead to the Chicago Cubs in the World Series, which had to have felt like the biggest gut punch of all-time.

In tonight’s game, Corey Kluber will take the ball for the Indians and Yu Darvish for the Rangers. Out of all of the Opening Day pitching matchups, this is the best duel of the bunch. Kluber made his first All-Star team last year after going 18-9 with a 3.14 ERA and 1.06 WHIP while striking out 227 batters over 215 innings. It was a long overdue honor for the 30-year-old righty, as he won the 2014 AL Cy Young Award and boasts a lifetime ERA of 3.33.

Darvish has been slowed down by injures over the last few years, including missing all of the 2015 season due to Tommy John surgery. But when the 30-year-old righty is healthy enough to pitch, he’s still one of the top arms in baseball. In 2016, Darvish went 7-5 with a 3.41 ERA and 1.12 WHIP, and he struck out 132 batters over 100.1 innings. Let’s hope the three-time All-Star can avoid the disabled list in 2017, as it’s always a treat watching him baffle hitters.

Now that the stage has been set, let’s breakdown all of the different ways you can watch the Indians and Rangers kick off their seasons.

Who’s The Toughest Guy Scottie Pippen Ever Guarded?

COED

Tom Hauck /Allsport

Scottie Pippen is well-deserving of his place in history even apart from Michael Jordan. The man averaged almost 20 points per game during the Chicago Bulls’ six championship seasons while playing defense like the Spartans in 300. He made First Team All-Defense eight times in his career, Second Team twice and led the NBA in steals during the 1995 season.

Pippen has locked up legends 1-on-1 such as Magic Johnson, Gary Payton and Reggie Miller, which is why it was a bit surprising when he tweeted a pictures of himself on Monday alongside another NBA legend he considered his toughest guard.

Wilkins’ Atlanta Hawks met Pippen’s Bulls just once in the playoffs (1993) and were swept easily. However, it’s worth mentioning that Wilkins averaged 30 point per game in that series. Even so, it’s a bit of a head scratcher given that Wilkins was in his age 33 season that year and close to the end of his career. Then again, Metta World Peace once said that Brandon Roy and some no-name guy from Queensbridge were the toughest players he ever guarded, so who knows what goes into this equation.

This isn’t a knock on Wilkins, who was appropriately nicknamed The Human Highlight. But it is an interesting little tidbit of NBA history. Much respect to both of these legends.

Wisconsin Principal Makes Fun Of Students’ Paint-Splattered Jeans, So They Buy Him A Pair

Jeffrey Miller, a high school principal in Racine, Wisconsin, has gone viral after dressing up in the same exact pair of paint-splattered jeans as two of his students.

Miller, the principal at Racine Park High School, told Yahoo that he noticed two boys wearing the bold pants Thursday morning as they were arriving for class.

“I saw the two of them, and they had the same pants. I saw ’em and gave them a little bit of a hard time,” Miller said.

After Miller joked around with the two students, so they promised to get him his very own pair. And they later delivered on that promise.

Via Yahoo:

“I saw the two of them, and they had the same pants. I saw ’em and gave them a little bit of a hard time,” says Miller. After joking around with the students, they vowed to get him his own pair. “I told them 38/30 and forgot about it,” he says.

Later that day, just before lunch, Miller got a call on a walkie-talkie to come up to a classroom. There he found the two students and a teacher. “The kids had a bag, and I just started laughing,” says Miller. Three other teachers were in on the joke, one of them going out to a local store, Rue 21, to buy the pants.

Miller confirms the two students in the photo were in class all day and that it was a teacher who went out and got the pants.

The three of them then spent the lunch hour walking around the school posing for photos and going into classrooms. “It was amazing the amount of joy and laughter this brought,” says Miller.

Not to get all sappy, but this is the type of thing that can make a difference in a kid’s life. Rarely do students remember passing an exam or scoring a goal for varsity, but instead, they remember special moments like these with their teachers.

WrestleMania 33 was insane, but Raw has the potential to be even crazier. The Raw after WrestleMania is infamously known for its wild crowds and epic surprises.

Last night, The Hardy Boyz returned and won the gold. Brock Lesnar is now the champion of the universe. And I think Roman Reigns may have retired The Undertaker

But how can Raw top what happened last night? Let’s see.

WWE Raw After WrestleMania Results

Stick around for live update from tonight’s special edition of Monday Night Raw…

Opening Segment: Fans Can’t Stop Chanting “Undertaker”

The fans have been chanting “Undertaker” for over 5 minutes. Now, a loud segment of the audience are chanting “Roman sucks,” which is dueling with the Undertaker chants.

Roman Reigns music hits, and a sea of boos follow. When Reigns enter the ring, some fans chant Matt Hardy’s “Delete.” Now, they’re literally chanting “F*ck you, Roman,” “Shut the f*ck up,” and “go away.” Every time he attempt to speak into the microphone, the crowd boos even louder.

“This is my yard now,” says Roman Reigns before he drops the microphone and the crowd boos. Reigns’ music hits and he confidently exits the ring.

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship match: The Hardy Boyz (c) vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson

The team of Anderson & Gallows come out first. The live crowd sits in eager anticipation of The Hardy Boyz.

The Hardy Boyz dominate their opponents in the early moments of the match. Matt hits a Side Effect to Anderson, as fans chants “Welcome back!” The Hardy Boyz dispatches both opponents over the top rope. And we’re back to commercial break.

And we’re back, and the bad guys are in control. Gallows works over Matt into the corner. The crowd chants “obsolete” and “delete,” as well as “F*ck that owl,” referencing The Hardys former employers iMPACT! Wrestling. Both Anderson and Gallows double-team Jeff as the younger Hardy takes a boot to the ear.

But then Matt Hardy yanks Anderson’s legs and tries to drag him down into the realm of deletion. The Hardys regain control. Jeff hits a Twist of Fate on the big Luke Gallows, but that doesn’t knock him down. Jeff tags in his brother Matt, who drops Gallows with another Twist of Fate. Jeff climbs to the top rope and executes a flawless Swanton Bomb. Matt goes for the cover.

The Hardy Boyz retain the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship after deleting the team of Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson

Neville vs. Mustafa Ali

Before this match, Neville cuts an angry promo. Mustafa Ali’s theme music interrupts Neville’s jibber-jabber.

Ali is really taking the fight to Neville, performing a moonsault from the middle rope onto Neville. But then Neville takes control and has the smaller opponent flying many feet above the air. The King of Cruiserweights tosses Ali right out of the ring with ease.

Neville holds Ali in a headlock as we come back from commercial break. We see a clip from the break of Neville flying off the top rope and crashing into his opponent. Ali fights back with a spinning neckbreaker. But Neville is way too strong for Mustafa. Neville levels Ali with a sick clothesline. Ali somehow kicks out.

Neville sends his opponents and himself flying off the top rope, performing a 360 spin in the air before crashing to the mat. And somehow, both men are on their feet and their duking it out. Ali gains control and drops Neville on his head twice with two consecutive high impact moves. The crowd chants, “This is awesome!”

Mustafa goes for the 450 splash, but he gets caught by Neville. The King of the Cruiserweight ascends the top rope and is about to execute the Red Arrow (450 splash) onto his opponent, but he stops. He doesn’t want to give the fans what they want. Instead, he climbs back down to the ring, and locks his opponent into the Rings of Saturn submission hold.

Neville defeats Mustafa Ali

Vinnie Mac is here!

We see Vince McMahon exit a limousine, and the fans cheer.

In-Ring Segment: Vince McMahon announces the new General Manger for Monday Night Raw

Vinnie Mac’s music hits, and the crowd sings along. Some people are bowing Vince in the crowd, as if he’s one of Matt Hardy’s seven deities.

Vince says that Stephanie is out of action and he is very hurt by what happened to her at WrestleMania. We see a clip of Seth Rollins kick Triple H in the head who then falls into his wife standing on the ring apron. Stephanie crashes into a table. The crowd cheers.

Vince says he’s going to shake things up again. But first, Raw needs a new general manager. The new GM was just inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. And that general manager will be…

Teddy Long’s music hits. Teddy comes out dancing. Vince yells “Teddy, stop dancing.” Teddy is too hyped. But Vince says that it isn’t him that will be the new general manager of Raw. Mr. Long gets the messages, and dances out of there.

Vince then announces the true Raw GM. And it’s Kurt Angle! It’s true. It’s true.

The New Day vs. The Revival

The New Day come out to the ring. Their outfits look absolutely hilarious (gotta love these guys). It looks like they’re wheeling a hotdog or ice-cream cart down to the ring. They make an open challenge to any team in the back for a match.

Former 2-time NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival answer the challenge of The New Day. The crowd goes crazy and starts singing along to their song.Corey Graves in the announcer’s booth is loving it.

The Revival is firmly in control, and the crowd chants for them “to f*ck up” their opponents. Real crazy crowd tonight. Xavier is being taken apart piece by piece by both Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder.

Woods breaks free and knocks Wilder to the ground. Dawson tries to gain control, but Xavier tags in Big E. The big man dominates, but gets too confident and gets taken out by the Revival. Xavier Woods is the only member of The New Day left. He fights valiantly, but to no avail. The Revival hit their finisher and lights out.

The Revival defeat The New Day

Post-match: The Revival assault Kofi Kingston. Dawson holds Kofi down, while Wilder jumps off the top rope onto his leg. Michael Cole says that the landscape of the tag team division has changed.

Bayley, Dana Brooke & Sasha Banks vs. Emma, Nia Jax, & Charlotte

Emma has finally returned, and no, she’s isn’t trolling us this time. She looks super badass.

Emma is back and better than ever, taking out both Dana Brooke and Bayley during the early going of the match-up.

“The Boss” Sasha Banks ended the match by making “The Queen” Charlotte Flair tap the F out.

Bayley, Dana Brooke & Sasha Banks defeats Charlotte, Emma & Nia Jax

In-Ring Segment: Brock Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman

Brock Lesnar’s music hits and he walks down to the ring with his manager Paul Heyman. Heyman tells a fairytale about a superhero named Goldberg. That superhero got crushed once he entered Suplex City at WrestleMania.

Heyman starts bringing up names of who will be Brock’s next victim. Will it be Seth Rollins? Matt Hardy? Jeff Hardy? Both The Hardy Boyz? Who will it be?

Out comes Braun Strowman, and he talks some trash and stares down Lesnar. Brock is ready to fight and gestures for Strowman to make a move. Braun slowly retreats.

Chris Jericho Backstage Interview

Jericho talks about all his friends from around the world, and tells them to “cheer me on…man….”

Y2J puts “the tip of Kevin Owens finger on the list” because it cost him the match at ‘Mania. And then out of nowhere, Owens attacks Jericho!

Owens is mauling Y2J, and then Samoa Joe joins in on the beat-down.

#1 contender match for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship: Cesaro & Sheamus vs. Enzo & Cass

Enzo & Cass are in control in the beginning, but when we come back from commercial break, Sheamus is trying to make Enzo submit or pass out. But Enzo breaks free, and Sheamus shoulder smacks the steel ring-post. Cesaro rushes in the ring to stop Enzo from making the tag. Cass fights Cesaro outside the ring, while Enzo takes out Sheamus with a surprise DDT.

Cesaro is tagged in, and hits Enzo with a running uppercut. Enzo is now in full swing. Cesaro locks in the sharpshooter, but Big Cass breaks it up with a big boot to The Swiss Superman’s face. Cass is now in complete control of Cesaro. It appears as if Enzo & Cass are about to put away their opponents, but then Sheamus comes outta nowhere with a Brogue Kick. Cesaro smacks Enzo with a European uppercut, and well, you know the rest….

Cesaro & Sheamus defeat Enzo & Cass to become the new #1 contenders for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship

Jinder Mahal vs. Sami Zayn

Mahal brutally assaults Zayn before the match even starts. After a quick stomping, Jinder brings Sami back into the ring and yells at the referee to start the match. The referee asks if Sami is ok and then rings the bell.

Jinder dominates Sami for most of this match. Mahal has really improved her intensity game in the ring. But one helluva kick from Sami is enough to knock you out.

Sami Zayn defeats Jinder Mahal

Kevin Owens & Samoa Joe vs. Seth Rollins & Finn Balor

Finn Balor is back! And he’s as good as he’s ever been. The closing moments saw a sequence of action: Rollins takes out Joe with a flying knee, Owens takes out Rollins with a superkick, and then Balor gains the advantage, lays KO out and ascends to the top rope to hit a flying foot stomp onto the chest of Owens. KO got KO’ed.

Finn Balor & Seth Rollins defeats Kevin Owens & Samoa Joe

Caitlin Nelson, a 20-year-old college student at Sacred Heart University, died after choking during a pancake-eating contest.

According to reports, police said Nelson died on Sunday, April 2, three days after participating in the contest at Sacred Heart University. Nelson was pronounced dead at the New York Presbyterian Hospital and her vital organs were donated to help those in need.

According to the NY Daily News, Nelson went into convulsions on Thursday, March 30, during the pancake contest at a Greek life dinner. According to witnesses, Nelson had eaten about four or five pancakes before she fell on the floor and started shaking uncontrollably. The Fairfield Police Department arrived immediately, but their attempts to clear her airway failed.

Nelson, who was from Clark, New Jersey, was a junior majoring in social work at the Roman Catholic school in Fairfield, Connecticut.

Via ABC:

When Nelson started choking at the contest, two nursing students who were there immediately began lifesaving measures and were quickly joined by police officers and paramedics.

“They did the best to establish an air way,” Kalamaras said. “Unfortunately, the pancake was impacted in there, in her throat, and the officers were trying to get it out.”

Nelson was taken to a hospital in Bridgeport in critical but stable condition and transferred on Friday to New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center.

Thousands of people gathered on the Sacred Heart campus Sunday night to honor Nelson, who was a sister of the Kappa Delta sorority.

According to Nelson’s LinkedIn, she was certified in youth mental health first aid and volunteered at the Resiliency Center of Newtown. The Resiliency Center of Newtown is a nonprofit group that provides free counseling to people affected by the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Kurt Angle Announced As RAW General Manager, Crowd Goes Berserk

After over a decade away from the company that made him a star, Kurt Angle is finally back home.

The Olympic gold medalist and six-time WWE champion, who was recently inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame, spent most of the last 10 years wrestling in the TNA. But on Monday night, the first RAW after Wrestlemania, Chairman Vince McMahon decided it was time for a change.

With general manager Stephanie McMahon out of commission, it was time to appoint a new general manager for the WWE’s flagship program, and McMahon chose none other than Angle.

The crowd predictably went nuts, and as is tradition, showered him with cheers (yes, cheers) of “You suck!”

It’s good to see Angle, who has a long history of personal issues, back in front of a crowd that absolutely adores him.

Some Hardo Penn State Official Called The Police On Fraternities This Weekend For Drinking

A senior administrator at Penn State University spent the weekend calling the cops on college students trying to have a good time. As angry as that might make you, take solace in the fact that your life will never suck as much as this guy’s does.

The Daily Collegian reported that Danny Shaha, the senior director of the Office of Student Conduct, called the police to report that there were people drinking at Chi Phi and Sigma Alpha Mu late Saturday night and early Sunday morning, according to police. Shaha also called late Saturday night to report possible underage drinking at Delta Chi.

Shaha called the police twice: late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

The calls came after recent administrative sanctions to disrupt Greek life’s social presence on campus. Luckily, the new sanctions don’t have laws enforcing them, so police said there wasn’t anything they could do.

Following an investigation into the death of New Jersey sophomore Timothy Piazza at the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, the Penn State administration instituted a series of Greek Life restrictions. These new restrictions include a permanent ban of Beta Theta Pi, a ban on rush in Fall 2017, and a stop to one of the greatest traditions PSU students enjoyed.

Piazza, 19, was a 2015 graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Readington Township who died after suffering a fall at the Beta Theta Pi house. Emergency services were not contacted until nearly 12 hours after the student fell down the steps at the fraternity house. Piazza was flown to the Hershey Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Former Oklahoma Sooner Arrested For Prostituting Former OU Cheerleader

Lawrence Moore, a former football player at the University of Oklahoma, faces charges of aiding and abetting prostitution. Moore is accused of prostituting Micah Madison Parker, a former Oklahoma Sooners cheerleader.

Moore, who was a cornerback for the Sooners in 2013, played ‘sparingly’ for the team during his freshman season before ultimately deciding to leave.

According to reports, undercover Oklahoma City officers, in conjunction with the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation, agreed to meet a woman who offered them sexual favors in exchange for $200.

Via Fox:

A probable cause affidavit filed in Oklahoma County shows that on March 30 an undercover vice officer made arrangements to meet with a woman advertising sex on Backpage.com. The officer met the woman, later identified as 23-year-old Micah Madison Parker, at the Sonesta Suites at 4361 W. Reno Ave.

Once at the room, Parker allegedly offered sex to the undercover officer in exchange for $200. Vice detectives then entered the room and attempted to take Parker into custody. The affidavit alleges that Parker tossed several cell phones into the toilet before being arrested.

Detectives then searched the room and allegedly found burnt marijuana and a green substance believed to be codeine. Jail calls and social media conversations led officers to believe that Lawrence “LJ” Moore, 22, was reportedly involved in prostituting Parker.

Micah Madison Parker, 23, is a former cheerleader for Oklahoma and the daughter of a University of Oklahoma cheerleading coach. She was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of destruction of evidence, offering to engage in an act of prostitution, and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

As for Moore, he faces charges of aiding and abetting prostitution, pandering, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of marijuana.

Lilian Garcia Is The Only Part Of The WWE That’s Still As Good As The Old Days

Of all the things in my life, I sound the oldest when I talk about WWE.

You know what I mean. I sound like a cranky old man rocking away on his porch. ‘It was better in my day!’ type shit.

But in the case of WWE, or in my day WWF, it’s true. It was better back in the day and there’s a tangible reason why. Somewhere around, I don’t know, 2005, the WWE decided it wanted to be more marketable towards children, and since then, it just hasn’t been the same.

The colors are brighter and the stars are cornier. The WWE has lost its edge. However, there are still some holdovers from the Attitude Era, one of which is none other than ring announcer Lilian Garcia.

For those who didn’t know, this how long Lilian’s been around (Side note: Imagine if the WWE ran this today. People would be INCENSED):

Lilián Garcia, who is now FIFTY years old, is a Spanish ring announcer and singer best known for her time with the WWE. During her tenure in WWE, she became the first WWE Diva to remain with the promotion for ten years.

Ronnie Music Jr., a convicted meth dealer who invested $3 million of his lottery winnings into a crystal meth trafficking ring, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison.

Music, from Waycross, Georgia, was sentenced on Monday, April 3, after pleading guilty to charges of conspiring to traffic large amounts of methamphetamine and being a felon in possession of firearms.

He won the money from a scratch-off lottery game in February of 2015. According to prosecutors, Music Jr. used his winning to buy more crystal meth to sell.

Via Daily Mail:

In TV interviews at the time, Music said he planned to save his winnings. But he ended up using the money to buy crystal meth while enlisting others to sell the drug at a profit.

Later that year, other members of the drug ring were busted trying to sell about 11 pounds of crystal meth – worth more than $500,000, according to the US Attorney’s office.

Music was identified as the supplier, and he was arrested in Tennessee after selling meth to a confidential informant. Investigators seized more than $1 million worth of meth, firearms, ammunition, and vehicles, along with $600,000 in cash. US Attorney Ed Tarver called Music’s investment ‘unsound’ and he pleaded guilty in July 2016.

He was previously arrested in both 2007 and 2009. In 2007, he was also found guilty of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and in 2009, he was caught running a meth lab and in possession of the illegal substance. He was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison but was released on parole after three years.

A former sushi chef from Krygyzstan has been named as the suicide bomber who killed 14 people and injured 50 in the St. Petersburg train massacre on Monday. Akbarzhon Jalilov, sometimes spelled Akbarjon Djalilov, is thought to be behind the bombing.

What Happened?

Akbarzhon Jalilov, a 22-year-old Russian citizen who was born in Krygyzstan, has been identified by security services as the suspected bomber in Monday’s metro attacks in St. Petersburg, Russia. Initially, another man was marked as a potential suspect, but he turned himself into authorities after Russian agencies circulated his picture.

Jalilov set off an explosion between Sennaya Ploshchad and Sadovaya train station, killing himself and many others. He also planted a second device hidden in a fire extinguisher that failed to explode.

Kremlin officials said that parts of the attacker’s body had been found at the scene. CCTV images of the suspect have been released showing him in a red Parka jacket and carrying a backpack through the Metro. Other images of him walking along the street see his fists clenched, potentially because he was clutching the trigger of the bomb. Police believe Jalilov has close ties to Islamist radicals.

Ali Matkarimov, a former friend, said the two were sushi chefs together in 2013 and that Jalilov was “not even saying his prayers.”

The Kremlin described the attacks as a “challenge” to President Valdimir Putin, saying it was “noteworthy” that it occurred while he was in the city. No organizations has yet claimed full responsibility for the attack, though previous attacks on Russia have been attributed to ISIS and Chechens.

According to the Mirror, “It was also reported today that Russian security services knew about a possible attack in St Petersburg and were tracking suspected bombers. A Russian source in ISIS, detained returning from Syria, had given several identities of suspects, and their mobile numbers.”

Four metro stations have been reopened.

A viral video showing the killing of two suspected gang members in Eastleigh, Nairobi on Friday, April 1, has sparked outrage amongst Kenyans.

It is being reported that the dead suspects in the video were members of Super Power Gang and were about to commit a robbery. The Super Power Gang is one of more than 90 groups outlawed in a gazette notice by Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery in December of 2016.

Kenyans became outraged after it was claimed that a policeman was involved in the shooting. They have demanded that those seen in the video be identified.

Via The Star:

The father of one of the young men shot in the incident acknowledged that his son was actually a thug and pleaded with the government to release his body.

“He was not one to use knives or guns. He was just a thief of going into people’s pockets and such things,” he told journalists at his home.

There were mixed reactions by Kenyans online with some of them supporting the police for killing the gang members. The incident is the latest of a series of shootings that have painted Kenyan police a trigger-happy, ready to kill even unarmed suspects who have already surrendered.

Charles Owino, a spokesman for the Eastleigh Police,  said those in the video must be identified for an investigation to begin.

“The important thing is the person must be identified whether they are policemen or not,” he told the Star on phone.

The incident is the latest in a long line of shootings allegedly involving Kenyan police officers.

Jalilov set off an explosion between Sennaya Ploshchad and Sadovaya train station, killing himself and many others. He also planted a second device hidden in a fire extinguisher that failed to explode. Russian bomb squads managed to defuse the device safely.

According to the Mirror, “It was also reported today that Russian security services knew about a possible attack in St Petersburg and were tracking suspected bombers. A Russian source in ISIS, detained returning from Syria, had given several identities of suspects, and their mobile numbers.”

The death toll rose from 10 to 14 Tuesday morning. Four metro stations have since been reopened.

Gonzaga NCAA Championship: History & Must-See Details

The Gonzaga Bulldogs are one of the most dominating forces in college basketball right now. They will face the North Carolina Tar Heels in the National Championship game, Monday night. While the two programs are drastically different, Gonzaga is ready to prove that they belong with the elite.

In the history of the Gonzaga Bulldogs men’s basketball program, they have never won an NCAA Championship which is pretty shocking. Even more curious, they have never been in the Final Four so hopefully they can get a lot of firsts out of the way with a win tonight. This is unquestionably the best team in Gonzaga history so they have all of the confidence in the world they can play spoiler tonight.

UNC is known for greatness and winning championships however they have had some setbacks over the last couple of years including a heartbreaking, buzzer beater loss to Villanova in last years National championship game.

Now Gonzaga will look to be the spoiler as the Tar Heels will likely be in for another tough test. Gonzaga head coach, Mark Fewl hinted to the disparity between these two programs in terms of prestige during his postgame press conference after their victory against South Carolina.

“We don’t pretend or think we’re anywhere near the level with the tradition of Carolina or Duke or Kentucky. But at the same time, I think we do feel we’ve been a national entity for quite some time. The product, the brand, the players, the team that we’re putting out there on the floor – we feel can compete with anybody in the country on any given night.”

The Tar Heels are the favorite heading into this matchup but that should only help fuel the “Zags” quest to deliver an upset. Both teams have had a long road to get to this point, North Carolina’s physical battle with Oregon in the Final Four showed a championship caliber team that battled their way through what at times was a pretty lackluster performance.

UNC at several points throughout that contest appeared to be the smaller, more timid, team. It was some late game heroics that kept the Tar Heels the W but that still does not explain their puzzling struggles at the charity stripe in the fourth quarter. This is something coach Williams has to address if this team wants to put up a complete performance in the biggest game of the season.

Gonzaga beat the surprise powerhouse, South Carolina pretty easily. The “Zags” dominated the fourth quarter going on a run that showed their prowess for making clutch shots. In a weirder twist, both teams scored exactly the same amount of points (77) in their Final Four contests. The game will take place at 9:20 EST, Monday night and should be a classic for the ages. The game can be viewed on CBS and online at NCAA.com.

Miroslav Gronych, a 37-year-old pilot who was so drunk that he fell asleep in the cockpit before takeoff, was sentenced to serve eight months in a Canadian jail on Monday, April 3.

Gronych, 37, pleaded guilty to having care and control of an aircraft while he had a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit. Gronych, a Slovakian pilot, was escorted off a Sunwing Airlines plane in Calgary on December 31, 2016, before a scheduled flight to Cancun, Mexico.

According to court records, when Gronych got on the plane, he struggled to hang up his coat, was slurring his words, and was struggling to walk. After Gronych’s co-pilot suggested Gronych leave the plane, he returned to the cockpit, sat down, and passed out with his face leaning against the window.

Furthermore, a maid found an empty 26-ounce bottle of vodka in Gronych’s Delta Airport hotel room.

Via Calgary Herald:

The Calgary provincial court judge found that a proper range for cases such as his, where a commercial pilot is impaired, but stopped before taking control of a plane, is six- to 12-months jail.

Brown said there were mitigating factors which brought Gronych down from the high end of that range, including his remorsefulness and the fact he has sought help for his alcohol addiction, both before and after the offense.

Another factor, she said, was “due to the high level of public scrutiny” Gronych has suffered a lot of shame both in Canada and his homeland of Slovakia.

Gronych’s lawyer told the court that Gronych “couldn’t sleep the night before his flight and felt like he was coming down with a cold”‘ so he took a “couple of shots of vodka and a Tylenol.” His lawyer also said that he planned to wake up in time to let the appropriate people know that he would not make the flight.

The season 7 finale of AMC’s The Walking Dead was, simply put, not good. In fact, this entire season has been a big disappointment for fans. Couple that with the stiff competition Sunday night offered – WrestleManiaAcademy of Country Music Awards on CBS, Big Little Lies finale on HBO and the series finale of Black Sails on Starz – and  it’s easy to see why The Walking Dead was relatively lifeless in the ratings compared to season’s past.

The bloated near 90-minute finale, “The First Day of the Rest of Your Life,” on April 2 attracted 11.3 million total viewers. While this number represents a 7% bump from the March 26 penultimate episode, it still marks a double-digit decline from TWD‘s all-time finale high of season 5.

Though The Walking Dead remains one of the most popular shows on television, the series has seen a noticeable drop in viewership. The season 7 finale numbers are the third-lowest in the show’s run since the six-episode first season in 2010 (5.97 million) and season 2’s finale (8.99 million). Overall, season seven averaged 11.35 million live viewers while season six averaged 13.15 million. Then again, The Walking Dead still claims the top spot among this season’s highest-rated series (both broadcast and cable) and has already been renewed for an eighth season.

Despite the inconsistency in quality this show has experienced over the years, it remains easily digestible content that wins the ratings race even during a minor audience recession. AMC can’t be too mad about that.

Season eight is expected to debut in the fall.
