A 28-year-old Texas teacher has been arrested for allegedly engaging in a relationship with a student at her all-boys school.

What Happened?

Rebecca Goerdel, a special education for the Young Men’s Leadership Academy of Kennedy Middle School in Grand Prairie in Texas, has been arrested after school officials reported her to the police.

Administrators claimed Goerdel engaged in an “inappropriate relationship” with a student at the school.

The school said they were notified on March 10 of “an alleged improper relationship” between Goerdel and a student. Authorities say she was “relieved of all duties” immediately and has not returned to the classroom since. The school also alerted police that same day and they have been investigating Goerdel since.

Dr. Susan Hull, Grand Prairie ISD superintendent, released the following statement:

The Dallas News reports that Goerdel previously pled guilty to driving while intoxicated.

It’s been announced that Duke freshman Harry Giles has declared for the NBA Draft. Here’s the Duke Blue Devils twitter account dropping the news.

At first glance, it doesn’t make much sense for the 6’10” forward to go pro after only averaging 3.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per game in his lone season of college ball. But the more you look into Giles’ case, it doesn’t seem to be too bad of a move.

Giles has already battled all sorts of injuries, missing two seasons in high school with two torn ACLs and 11 games of his freshman year at Duke with another knee injury. ESPN’s Chad Ford currently has Giles at 14th on his 2017 NBA Draft board, so he might as well grab some of that sweet NBA cash before he gets hurt again.

It’s better to come out of school a year or two early, then dick around for too long playing for free in college. Ya gotta strike while the iron is hot.

John Cena is The Man, it’s that simple. He’s the most charismatic and entertaining wrestler since a certain stone-named figure who is currently the reigning king of Hollywood. As such, we’ll give every movie Cena is in at least a modicum of interest. Thankfully, his latest silver-screen effort looks solid.

Ferdinand is based on the classic children’s storybook – first published in 1936 – that follows a gentle bull who “would rather sit in the shade of his favorite cork tree and smell the flowers,” according to the book’s back cover. At first glance, any animated movie not belonging to the Pixar/Disney family is questionable. But Blue Sky Studios pumped out Ice Age and Rio, so they’ve earned the benefit of the doubt for this new fish-out-water animated adventure.

Cena isn’t along in Ferdinand, of course. He’ll be joined by Saturday Night Live‘s Kate Mckinnon, who will be voicing a loopy sidekick named Lupe. The cast also includes Gina Rodriquez, Gabriel Iglesias, Bobby Cannavale, David Tennant, and Anthony Anderson.

Cena’s biggest movie role to date was his hilarious turn in Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck. That role alone earned him serious comedic points in our book.

Ferdinand is the perfect date movie to take you girlfriend to after finals. It will be fun, sweet, and worth a few laughs. Maybe plan a nice dinner beforehand too and make a whole date night out of it.

Ferdinand will arrive in theaters on December 15, 2017.

Only a couple of weeks after releasing their 2017 issue, Sports Illustrated is already beginning to announce their roster for 2018, which is a bold move considering how uncertain the future of our entire planet feels right now.

Here’s a fun fact to whip out at your next get together: Master P had two NBA contracts back in the day.

Percy Miller played with the Hornets before the 1999 season and the Raptors before the 1999-00 season. He was cut in the preseason in both stints.

Both experiences were more publicity stunts than anything else, but the rapper/producer/hip hop mogul could definitely ball in his prime. Who knows if he was NBA caliber – he’s argued he was – and his lucrative music career obviously made the NBA pursuit moot.

But the New Orleans native is now lobbying the Pelicans to hire him amid the team’s disappointing 31-43 season.

“I think they need me to be an assistant coach,” he told TMZ. “I’m serious about coaching.”

Master P, for all his talents and abilities, likely isn’t the cure New Orleans is looking for. Despite pairing dominant big man DeMarcus Cousins with ascending superstar Anthony Davis shortly before the NBA trade deadline, the Pelicans have been unable to piece together a playoff-worthy team. They’ve struggled to integrate the talented but mercurial Cousins and fallen out of the post-season hunt as they sit 4.5 games back of the No. 8 seed out west.

Is Miller all of a sudden going to show the Pellies how to effectively play inside-out basketball? Is he going to open up space for shooters in New Orleans’ tightly packed offense? Will he run 4-5 pick and rolls with Cousins and Davis?

I don’t think so.

Kristina Roberts, a woman from Manchester, New Hampshire, is facing multiple charges after she allegedly threatened to defecate on a police officer who was trying to arrest her on the morning of Monday, March 27.

Roberts, 18, is charged with simple assault and two counts of resisting arrest/detention, while her boyfriend, Samuel Caraballo, 19, is charged with criminal threatening, resisting arrest, and simple assault. While both Caraballo and Roberts appeared in court, bail information was not available.

Manchester police were responding to a call at 70 Dover Street around 3:00 A.M. on the morning of Monday, March 27, after a neighbor’s complaint. The neighbor said he heard Roberts and Caraballo fighting. When he asked them to quiet down, they allegedly responded by throwing eggs at his vehicle.

Police responded, and said a male – later identified as Caraballo – came to the door and immediately became confrontational. He backed out of the doorway and Roberts, his girlfriend, blocked the door frame and continued arguing with police.

One of the officers then noticed Caraballo walking toward a long gun located next to a bed. The officer pushed past Roberts, even though she grabbed his jacket to keep him from entering. Another officer then started to place Roberts under arrest for trying to keep the officers from entering the apartment.

By this time, Caraballo and the officer who had entered the apartment were fighting for control of the shotgun. Caraballo kicked the officer in the chest, but another officer was able to incapacitate him with a Taser and he was taken into custody.

After Caraballo and Roberts were placed under arrest and were waiting for the transport to the police station, Roberts allegedly put her buttocks against the responding officer’s leg and attempted to defecate on the officer.

A bill that would allow guns onto any college campus in Georgia’s public university system passed through the Georgia Senate on Tuesday, March 28. The bill survived a crucial vote to keep it alive in the final days of the legislative session.

The bill, officially House Bill 280, would allow anyone who owns a concealed weapons permit to carry their firearms onto public college campuses. The exceptions to this bill include the dorms, fraternity and sorority houses, athletic buildings, on-campus child care centers, and any areas that high school students attend class.

This is the fifth year in a row the Legislature has considered such a measure. Last year’s legislation got as far as Gov. Nathan Deal’s desk before he vetoed it, citing concerns that it was both too broad and that campuses have historically been gun-free to promote learning.

Deal has also called for excluding campus discipline hearings and administrative and professor offices from the proposal, but lawmakers so far have not added those exclusions.

With just two days left in this year’s legislative session, officials say lawmakers are negotiating with Deal’s office over a potential compromise before the session is gaveled to a close Thursday.

Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle said the following after the bill vote passed:

“Frequently, invisible lines distinguish our college and university campuses from other properties — but we should never allow these overlapping boundaries to deny us our constitutional rights. This thoughtful compromise protects the fundamental right to lawfully carry, which belongs to all Georgians.”

According to Georgia law, those seeking a state concealed carry permit must be at least 21 years old and they must also be fingerprinted, as well as pass a background check.

Randy Herman, a 24-year-old man from Florida, has been charged with first-degree murder after stabbing his roommate to death.

Herman is accused of stabbing his female roommate, Brook Preston, to death when she hugged him to say goodbye and tell him she was moving to Pennsylvania to live with her boyfriend.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Herman allegedly used a hunting knife to stab Preston, 21, in the abdomen, back, and throat.

According to police, Preston had come to the house Herman and she shared to give him a goodbye present. She then told Herman she was moving back to Pennsylvania to begin a career in journalism.

That’s when Herman allegedly stabbed Preston with a hunting knife, the report said. Preston sustained a dozen stab wounds to her back as well as others to her throat and abdomen. The report notes the woman also suffered defensive cuts to her left hand.

Herman is being held without bond at the Palm Beach County Jail.

Stanton College Prep High School, a school near Jacksonville, Florida, has received backlash for a poster that suggests what a ‘good girl’ should wear to prom.

The flyer reflected ‘guidelines’ for female students attending the prom. On the flyer, photos with appropriate dresses stated, “YES YOU ARE. GOOD GIRL,” and photos with inappropriate dresses were labeled, “NO YOU’RE NOT.”

As a response, both male and female students united by wearing white and purple to support women. Some students even wore shirts with the female symbol on the front.

The flyer reflected “guidelines” for female students attending the dance. On the flyer, photos with appropriate dresses stated, “YES YOU ARE. GOOD GIRL.”

In response, students united Tuesday wearing white and purple to support women. Some also donned shirts with the female sign emblazoned in duct tape.

“There’s a problem with this dress code that’s been outdated, stigmatizes the female body, and you need to do something about it and fix it,” Stanton Senior Anthony Paul said, directing his message to Duval County Public Schools.

The school district where Stanton College Prep High School resides tweeted that the actions of SCPHS were unacceptable:

Michelle Pfeiffer has a long and impressive resume in Hollywood and the long-standing critical acclaim to prove her career has not been a fluke.

The 58-year-old thespian was born in California and began her acting career in 1979 with the TV series Delta House. Though that role and many that followed (::cough, Grease 2, cough::), would not shoot Pfeiffer into the upper echelon of Hollywood, her big break would arrive shortly with a bang.

Director Brian De Palma initially refused to audition Pfeiffer for 1983’s Scarface, but relented at the insistence of famous producer Martin Bregman. As anyone who has seen the film knows, Pfeiffer absolutely nailed the role of the cocaine-addicted trophy wife Elvira Hancock. What followed is a celebrated and long-lasting career that included three Academy Award nominations (Dangerous Liaisons, The Fabulous Baker Boys, Love Field).

After a four year hiatus, Pfeiffer is set to star in Mother! alongside Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem, as well as Murder on the Orient Express with Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz Daisy Ridley. She recently explained her reasons for taking a break from the silver screen in a sit down with Interview Magazine.

Two Mexican teenagers were killed when the wing of a plane struck them on the heads as they took selfies on an airstrip on Saturday, March 25.

Nitzia Mendoza Corral, 18, and Clarissa Morquecho Miranda, 17, were on the airstrip videotaping themselves when an airplane came to land at the Chihuahua, Mexico airport. The two teens were standing in the back of a van at the airstrip and did not see the plane coming in time.

Their injuries were immediately fatal.

According to The Daily Mail, Mendoza and Morquecho were at a nearby horse race on Saturday, March 25, before heading to the airstrip.

Mendoza was studying law in college and Morquecho was completing her final year of high school, According to reports, some witnesses asked the two to get out of the vehicle because it was dangerous, but the girls refused.

A state prosecutor’s office spokesman said that authorities were still investigating the case and that there was no comment from the girls’ families at that time. Furthermore, the name of the pilot flying the plane was not disclosed. Similarly,  it is not currently clear how the plane came to be so close to a vehicle on landing.

Full disclosure: I’m not a huge Luc Besson fan. For all his style and panache, he often forgets about core movie ingredients like story, pacing, and characters. Having said that, Luc Besson is good for the movie industry as a whole. Why? Because he’s absolutely bonkers crazy and isn’t afraid to go balls to the wall. Hollywood needs more of that these days.

Fans of The Fifth Element will be glad to see Besson returning to a sci-fi canvas in which he throws every single vibrant color and whacky design idea to see what sticks in the new trailer for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Simply put, the movie looks absolutely nutty. Peep the trailer.

To paraphrase How I Met Your Mother, I’m down to eat a FAT sandwich and check this movie out in IMAX 3-D. I don’t think it will be good, per se, but it will be a wild ride. Sometimes, that’s all you need in your movie-going experience. Show me some dope visuals and a few WOW moments and we’re good.

A woman was taken into custody Wednesday after police say she struck a U.S. Capitol Police cruiser near the U.S. Capitol building. Police fired shots during the incident though no one, including the suspect, was injured.

What Happened?

A woman has been apprehended after reportedly driving erratically and ramming into a U.S. Capitol police car and attempting to hit officers, according to D.C. police. Initially, gunshots were reportedly heard near the U.S. Capitol.

According to police, shots were fired in the incident as the suspect struck a Capitol police car and tried running over officers on foot. No one was hit by the suspect’s car or the fired shots. There are no injuries.

“Everyone’s okay but someone tried to hit one of our guys with a car,” one officer told The Hill. “Then there were five shots but everyone’s okay.”

“There is ongoing Police activity at Washington and Independence Avenues SW,” read a notice sent by Capitol Police to all congressional offices. “The U.S. Capitol Police and the House Sergeant at Arms are aware of and monitoring the situation. Details will be provided as they become available and as the situation warrants.”

The incident took place shortly before 10:00 A.M. EST in the area of First and Independence avenues SW, near the United States Botanic Garden.

Larry is standing at the counter in deep thought about what type of candy to buy. He remarks to the cashier that he used to like $100,000 Bars, but ever since they changed it to the Hundred Grand Bar, he hasn’t been much of a fan. “I got enough going on in my life. I need some consistency from my candy bars,” he says. It’s at this moment that the unmasked thief burts into the store.

THIEF
Give me all the money in the drawer!

The cashier immediately complies to the thief’s orders, opening the register and piling the money in the bag. Larry chimes in.

LARRY
Uh, hey, buddy.
(Larry nods his head towards the store’s security camera)

THIEF
What about it old man?! 

LARRY
I’ve never robbed before, but you’re supposed to be wearing the mask, right?

Thief, realizing his face is exposed, quickly pulls the mask over his face, running out of the store in embarassment. The store clerk looks shocked by Larry David’s handling of the situation, but Larry seems unfazed.

LARRY
You know what, it’s been a while, I’ll take the Hundred Grand Bar.

The robbery, which took place March 21, shows one of the world’s worst criminals botching one of the easiest crimes there is. What I mean is, of all the serious offenses to commit, I feel like robbing a convenience store should be the easiest to get away with.

D.C. police say the suspect entered the 7-Eleven store in the 3700 block of 12th Street at around 7:43 p.m. on March 21 with a gun and demanded the cashier to open the cash register.

 In the surveillance video from inside the store, the suspect realizes the mask on the top of head is not fully on and he finally pulls it down to cover his face. After the cashier opens the register, the suspect is seen taking the cash before leaving the store and running away from the scene.

Washington D.C. police are asking anyone with information about the suspect or the robbery to call 202-727-9099 or send a text message to 50411.

In 2012, Delevingne was named the Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards. She also made her big screen debut that same year as Princess Sorokina in Anna Karenina alongside Keira Knightley and Jude Law.

In 2015, Delevingne earned an estimated $9 million from her modeling work, making her the second-highest paid model that year behind Gisele Bundchen ($44 million). On top of that, she scored her first lead role in the movie Paper Towns. It was around this time that Delevingne began to phase out of the modeling world in favor of more acting opportunities.

2016 – Present

In 2016, Delevingne appeared in her biggest film role to date as June Moone/Enchantress in Warner Bros.’ Suicide Squad. Though the film failed to impress critics and fans, it did earn $745.6 million at the worldwide box office. It’s estimated that Delevingne brought in around $8.5 million that year.

Delevingne has several projects hitting theaters in 2017. In addition to Tulip Fever and London Fields, Delevingne will co-star with Dane DeHaan in the anticipated Valerian and The City of a Thousand Planets.

All told the $18 million (and growing) net worth seems plausible given Delevingne’s busy and successful schedule.

For this year’s “exclusive” look into what goes on at spring break, Hannity went to South Padre Island, Texas. Samsung is returning with their flagship products following a rough patch with their incendiary Galaxy Note 7s.

The global tech company debuted the new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8Plus in New York Wednesday morning. The new phones represent a cutting edge leap with smooth hardware design and an array of new and versatile service offerings. Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ bring a new level of functionality and convenience with their immersive viewing experiences and new apps.

“The Samsung Galaxy S8 ushers in a new era of smartphone design and fantastic new services, opening up new ways to experience the world,” said DJ Koh, President of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics. “The Galaxy S8 is our testament to regaining your trust by redefining what’s possible in safety and marks a new milestone in Samsung’s smartphone legacy.”

The phones come without home buttons and flat screens but include new AI systems and smartphone desktop integration on their curved displays.

The biggest phone maker in the world is in need of a win and the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8Plus may very well deliver.

“The smaller Galaxy S8 crams a 5.8-inch screen onto a body that feels much smaller thanks to the way the curves slide down to meet the hand. Of course, this is hardly new for the Galaxy line; however, consider that the Galaxy S8 Plus does the same thing with a whopping 6.2-inch screen,” according to Android Authority. The new design is sleek, sexy and attractive.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 will hit stores on April 21 and will start at $720.
