Ryan Alexander Duke Photos: Must-See Pictures Of Charged Killer

Ryan Alexander Duke has been arrested for the murder of Tara Grinstead, a former Georgia school teacher and beauty pageant queen who went missing in October of 2015. The 12-year-old case has received much attention over the years as authorities have made little concrete progress until now.

What Happened?

Grinstead, 30, attended a Saturday-night cookout at the former Irwin County school superintendent’s family’s house. That was the last time she was ever seen.

Her sister, Anita Gattis, told The Atlantic Journal-Constitution in February 2006 that her sister would not have left the BBQ on her own. Gattis believes her sister must have left with someone she knew on the night of her disappearance. Her house was locked but her car, a white Mitsubishi 3000 GT, was unlocked and in the carport, with $100 in the console and clay on the tired.

“Tara never left her car unlocked and never drove on dirt roads,” Gattis said.

Grinstead’s cellphone was found by police at her home, as was a latex glove found outside.

“There was no struggle in the house. Tara was a singer. That was her talent in pageants,” Gattis said. “If someone was removing her, she’d project her voice. And she took self-defense. She’d go out kicking and screaming.”

Grinstead is the subject of the popular podcast Up and Vanished.

A source contacted the Georgia Bureau of Investigations two years ago in February with new information that led authorities to a small pond on some private property in Fitzgerald, on the north side of Ben Hill County.

“We found a few items that were mentioned from our source,” GBI Special Agent in Charge J.T. Ricketson said. “We did not find any remains or anything like that, which was disappointing to us.”

Who Is Ryan Alexander Duke?

Ryan Alexander Duke graduated from the Irwin County School district where Grinstead taught in 2002. However, Grinstead did not began teaching at the school until 2005. Duke was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon and a warrant for his arrest was issued Thursday morning.

This story is still developing. Please refresh for more details.

The disappearance of Tara Grinstead, a former beauty pageant winner and high school teacher, has apparently been solved. Grinstead’s disappearance in 2005 has remained one of the most infamous unsolved cases over the past 12 years, not the least of which because of her beauty, but there have also been multiple snags and dead-ends regarding the case.

It’s now believed that new information has since been released, information that led to an arrest.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) announced today that Ryan Alexander Duke, once a student at the school where Grinstead taught, was arrested and charged with her murder. Considering that Duke graduated three years before Grinstead began teaching at Irwin County High School, it’s still unknown what their relationship was.

Baseball Hall Of Fame Is Honoring Classic “Homer At The Bat” Episode Of ‘The Simpsons’

Hello & Welcome's YouTube

Hello & Welcome’s YouTube

Quick question: Who’s the biggest snub when it comes to the Baseball Hall of Fame? Pete Rose’s degenerate gambling ass? No way. Steroid enthusiast Barry Bonds? Get outta here. The correct answer for who is the most overdue player for Hall of Fame enshrinement is none other than Homer J. Simpson. He was the most feared power hitter of his generation, and it’s about damn time that he gets his proper recognition. What a silky smooth stroke.

Homer and his trusty Wonderbat will be honored this spring, as the Baseball Hall of Fame is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the classic “Homer at the Bat” episode of The Simpsons. Via the HOF’s website:

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will pay tribute to THE SIMPSONS’ place in American culture by honoring “Homer at the Bat” on Saturday, May 27. Boggs and Smith, who were portrayed in the unforgettable episode that featured Homer Simpson winning the championship softball game for the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant with a walk-off hit-by-pitch, will join in a roundtable discussion from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. outside the Library entrance to the Hall of Fame in Cooper Park. The discussion, which is free and open to the public, will feature the episode’s executive producers Al Jean and Mike Reiss, director Jim Reardon, executive story editor Jeff Martin, and casting director Bonnie Pietila.

During the roundtable, Homer will be “inducted” into the Hall of Fame. This brief ceremony will be followed with the official ribbon-cutting on a SIMPSONS-themed exhibit display in the Museum. THE SIMPSONS will also be honored prior to the Hall of Fame Classic legends game taking place that afternoon at Cooperstown’s historic Doubleday Field.

Words cannot express how happy this makes me. I just hope that Homer takes some time to thank his savvy manager Mr. Burns during his speech. If Burns didn’t pinch hit Homer for Darryl Strawberry in the 1992 City Championship to get that righty vs. lefty matchup, none of this would be possible. Look at that crafty, playing the percentages son of a bitch go!

They should also get somebody to do a live performance of this song. It’s hotter than the house fire Jose Canseco got stuck at.

UMich Students Demand ‘No-Whites-Allowed’ Campus Space To Plan ‘Social Justice Work’

A University of Michigan student group is lobbying the administration to designate a “permanent space on central campus for Black students and students of color to organize and do social justice work.”

The student group, Students4Justice, have made several demands this month in conjunction with campus demonstrations to put the onus on administrators. In a recently launched petition, the group claims that President Mark Schlissel has ignored their demands. Students4Justice’s demands comes even as the public university is currently underway on construction for a new $10 million center for black students in the center of campus.

However, the group’s demand explains that the new black student center is not enough, “because we want a space solely dedicated to community organizing and social justice work specifically for people of color.”

“We want documentation of past, current, and future student activism and this should be a permanent space that is staffed, and has resources for students to organize and share resources.”

Campus spokesman Rick Fitzgerald said that “at this point, our colleagues in Student Life have been working with the Students4Justice leaders to better understand their concerns. This is our normal process.”

Those as the Michigan Review caught wind of the growing campus movement and criticized it in their report.

“The same organization that criticizes the University for failing to create ‘an environment that engages in diversity, equity and inclusion,’ is calling upon the University to undermine these ideals by facilitating a sort of de facto segregation? One where space and resources are designated for students based solely on the color of their skin?’ the Review wrote. “To advocate for the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion, while simultaneously calling upon the University to sanction these spaces on campus is both unprincipled and laughably regressive.”

The group’s demands also includes a call for more support for “marginalized” students “when oppressive attacks occur,” seeing more “Black, Arab, and other PoC” among tenured faculty and offering more financial aid for students who come from less affluent backgrounds.

Justin Verlander Won’t Bump Uglies With Kate Upton Before Games, Is A Giant Nerd

Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen

On Wednesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, a caller had a very interesting question for supermodel Kate Upton. He wanted to know if Kate’s fiancé and Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander prefers to sleep with her before or after games. Her response will shock you to your core.

What a gigantic dweeb. Baseball contracts are guaranteed, so if I was Verlander, I wouldn’t give a shit about expending some energy before starts. Hell, I’d even try to sneak in a quickie in the dugout if the Tigers were having a big inning.

Plus, as everybody knows, the best way to calm the nerves is to clean the pipes. If Verlander got busy with Kate before games, I have no doubt in my mind that it would boost his on-field performance. Homeboy would be so goddamn relaxed he’d be mowing down hitters like a prime Nolan Ryan, and Kate would never have to ether baseball writers with a legendary tweet ever again.

This tweet definitely loses some of its luster with this new information coming to light, though. I guess it should now say that she’s the only person allowed to f*ck Verlander, as long as it’s not before a game, after a quality start, if he’s too bloated, too tired, not in the mood, or trying to catch up on Pretty Little Liars.

Does Kate Upton Sleep With Justin Verlander Before Or After Games?

Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen

Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen

Kate Upton is a beautiful woman. Men want to have sex with beautiful women. Justin Verlander, the MVP Detroit Tigers pitcher, is engaged to Upton which means they have sex.

Still with me?

In case you were ever super curious about the minutia of Upton and Verlander’s sex life, the three-time Sports Illustrated cover model recently opened up about it while appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. During the interview, a caller bravely asked whether Verlander prefers sex before or after a game.

First of all, big ups to this guy for his journalistic spirit. This is a great question. Second of all, big ups to Upton for being brave enough to answer this question. Third of all, Verlander is a six-time All-Star, 2011 Cy Young winner, 2011 MVP and former Rookie of the Year. Of course I want to know what his game-day routine is.

Without further ado, Upton’s honest answer:

“There’s no sex before a game, absolutely none. Also, what I’ve just found is if he plays too well there’s no sex after (the game) either… because he’s exhausted, which is kind of a buzzkill for me.”

Wow, what a curveball (pun intended). All of us normal jabronis would do absolutely anything to sleep with Kate Upton. But, my man Verlander is not a normal jabroni. He’s a future Hall of Famer who doesn’t mess around when it comes to game day. Respect the hustle.

That Was Quick. Taco Bell’s Naked Chicken Chalupa Is Getting The Ax

Taco Bell’s Twitter

On January 26, 2017, Taco Bell sent the fast food industry into a panic with the release of their Naked Chicken Chalupa. Putting a taco into a spicy fried chicken shell instead of a dull ass tortilla seemed like the greatest idea since sliced bread.

But on February 23, 2017, I have to report the sad news that the Naked Chicken Chalupa is on its way out. I guess it was just too ahead of its time, and people weren’t ready to accept such a radical idea. It’s kinda like when Marty McFly shredded the f*ck out of “Johnny B. Goode” at the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance and everybody was dumbfounded.

According to the Orange County Register, the Naked Chicken Chalupa will be removed from menus sometime in March. At least that gives us enough time to start stockpiling these bad boys. To hell with canned goods, all I want to snack on during the apocalypse are Naked Chicken Chalupas.

Goodnight, my sweet prince. Like the great Neil Young once said, “It’s better to burn out than to fade away.”

GW Bridge Armed Jumper: Full Story & Must-See Details

George Washington Bridge Closed Armed Jumper

Police have closed the upper level of the George Washington Bridge reportedly due to an armed jumper. All lanes on the upper level of the bridge have been closed off in both directions. Both the NYPD and ESU are on the scene.

Reports are saying that there was a suicidal jumper armed with a pellet gun, which was handed over to police at some point during the standoff. Port Authority police spoke to the man as he held onto the outside of the railing. Rescuers soon managed to get ahold of him and bring him safely back onto the bridge.

All traffic is being diverted to alternate routes and transit officials are warning of delays up to two hours crossing the bridge.

The upper level was closed down around 10:20 A.M. EST due to the activity.

The George Washington bridge is one of the busiest bridges in the United States. Eighteen people jumped to their death from the bridge in 2015, and 12 people jumped to their death in 2016. Since 2014 the George Washington Bridge “suicide squad” has prevented 230 people from taking their lives by jumping from the bridge, the Daily News reported, with 70 potential suicide jumpers being saved last year alone. According to WNYC, someone attempts suicide from the GW Bridge every 3.5 days.

George Washington’s birthday — February 22, 1732 — was celebrated two days ago.

UPDATE 11:06 A.M. EST: The armed jumper has reportedly been taken into custody.

Northwestern Women’s Basketball Player Makes Regrettable Decision Of Tying Shoe During Game

Last night, Northwestern took on Rutgers in a Big Ten women’s basketball matchup. With roughly 5:40 left in the second quarter, Northwestern guard Ashley Deary thought that it was a perfect time for her to tie her shoe. This would turn out to be a terrible decision, as the clock was still running and play was still live.

Instagram Photo

What a goofball. She couldn’t wait until the next stoppage of play to do that? Or at the very least, when she wasn’t the person bringing the goddamn ball up the court!? I haven’t seen such lackadaisical ball-handling since Steve Blake picked Jason Williams’ pocket.

If I’m going to bash Deary for spacing out at the most inopportune time, I have to at least give props to Rutgers for capitalizing on her blunder. That was Khadaizha Sanders with the steal and Shrita Parker scoring the easy layup. It still didn’t do Rutgers much good, though, as Northwestern cruised to a 60-38 victory.

Locker Room Music Dispute Leads To Maine Basketball Player Breaking Teammate’s Jaw

University of Maine's Facebook

University of Maine’s Facebook

The University of Maine men’s basketball team is in the national spotlight for all of the wrong reasons. On February 14, 2017, junior guard Wes Myers punched teammate Marko Pirovic in the face, sending the senior guard to the hospital with a broken jaw. Pirovic had to undergo surgery for two bilateral fractures, and his jaw will be wired shut for six to eight weeks.

After the fight, Maine players tried to cover it up. When a campus police officer came to ask questions, they said that Pirovic fell in the shower. But the next day, the truth came out and campus police were notified of the haymaker Myers threw over a goddamn music dispute of all things. Here’s Deadspin with more details on the incident.

Basketball staff and players later told police that the fight started after Myers told Pirovic to turn off his music in the locker room. Pirovic refused, and Myers tried to forcibly turn it off. At that point, the police report said, the two players started fighting and Myers broke Pirovic’s jaw with one punch. The fight abruptly stopped when they realized that Pirovic was hurt and together Myers, Pirovic, and a few teammates cooked up the story that Pirovic had fallen in the shower to avoid getting in trouble. Pirovic didn’t want to press charges, and in a written statement given to police he said that both players were at fault for an argument that got out of hand, per the Bangor Daily News, who first reported on the fight last night.

So dumb. I don’t care if Pirovic was blasting “Who Let the Dogs Out?” on a constant loop, you can’t pop your own teammate like that. Only Steve Smith Sr. can pull that move. You guys gotta stick together through thick and thin.

Maine players Jaquan McKennon, Dusan Majstorovic, and Ilija Stojilkovic each served one-week suspensions for lying to campus police. Pirovic and Myers have also served one-week suspensions, but there is currently no timetable on when they will return to the court.

Who’s Going To Take Home Gold At The Oscars?

0
0

The 89th annual Academy Awards are this Sunday and we want you to look smart at your hoity-toity Oscars party. We want you name-dropping Denis Villeneuve while eating shrimp cream puffs and quoting Manchester by the Sea while popping champagne (that’s what happens at Oscar parties, right?)

So with the ceremony right around the corner, I’m going to make my predictions for who will win the major categories, as well as who should win. While I very much respect the technical categories, this list will not be delving into Visual Effects, Makeup and Hairstyle or Sound Editing. Sorry.

Here are your Oscar winners.

Best Picture

  • Arrival
  • Fences
  • Hacksaw Ridge
  • Hell or High Water
  • Hidden Figures
  • La La Land
  • Lion
  • Manchester by the Sea
  • Moonlight

Who Will Win: Barring breaking news about La La Land director Damian Chazelle orchestrating a human trafficking ring, his vibrant throwback musical is taking home the gold. La La Land is an homage to old-school filmmaking with some lovely modernizations and the Academy has always loved movies about movies, as evidenced by La La Land‘s 14 total nominations. It’s a wonderfully delightful film, but is it worthy of Best Picture?

Who Should Win: MoonlightMoonlight should absolutely win because with apologies to Chazelle and Co., nothing was at heart wrenchingly beautiful as this soft-spoken character drama.

Best Director

  • Denis Villenueve, Arrival
  • Mel Gibson, Hacksaw Ridge
  • Damien Chazelle, La La Land
  • Kenneth Lonergan, Manchester by the Sea
  • Barry Jenkins, Moonlight

Who Will Win: La La Land’s domination continues as Chazelle will nab his first Best Director trophy. The degree of difficulty La La Land took to make puts Chazelle at the front of the pack and for good reason. Should he win, he’ll be the youngest Best Director-winner of all time at 32. Bravo.

Who Should Win: Mel Gibson…Just kidding. This award is all Chazelle.

Best Actor

  • Casey Affleck, Manchester by the Sea
  • Andrew Garfield, Hacksaw Ridge
  • Ryan Gosling, La La Land
  • Viggo Mortensen, Captain Fantastic
  • Denzel Washington, Fences

Who Will Win: This is a two-man race between Affleck and Washington. While both were great (and I put money on Washington at +400 a month ago, now he’s -110), this award is going to Affleck. Yes, a negative narrative stemming from a former sexual assault charge has developed around him. But based on performance alone, Affleck is the rightful winner after his tortured turn as a man who can’t forgive himself in Manchester.

Who Should Win: Again, it’s Affleck. His externalization of grief and self-loathing is commanding on screen.

Best Actress

  • Isabelle Huppert, Elle
  • Ruth Negga, Loving
  • Natalie Portman, Jackie
  • Emma Stone, La La Land
  • Meryl Streep, Florence Foster Jenkins

Who Will Win: Like the Best Actor race, this competition comes down to two: Stone and Portman. While Portman absolutely carries Jackie as a complex woman dealing with loss and legacy, the overwhelming love for La La Land will push Stone up onto that stage come awards night.

Who Should Win: As great as Portman was, Stone was all encompassing in La La Land. There’s not a moment when she’s on screen in which she doesn’t glow. Some critics have complained that her role didn’t have the depth of a First Lady or a wife up against unspeakable racism, but there also wasn’t a performance as magnetic as Stone’s this year.

Best Supporting Actor

  • Mahershala Ali, Moonlight
  • Jeff Bridges, Hell or High Water
  • Lucas Hedges, Manchester by the Sea
  • Dev Patel, Lion
  • Michael Shannon, Nocturnal Animals

Who Will Win: This is Ali’s award to lose. As the sensitive father figure to a young boy questioning his sexuality, Ali is powerful in his limited screen time. He may not be the runaway favorite in this category like J.K Simmons was for Whiplash in 2014, but he’s got enough to juice to take this statue.

Who Should Win: Not to beat a dead horse, but Ali. Have you seen him in Moonlight? Shut up, I’m not crying. You’re crying!

Best Supporting Actress

  • Viola Davis, Fences
  • Naomie Harris, Moonlight
  • Nicole Kidman, Lion
  • Octavia Spencer, Hidden Figures
  • Michelle Williams, Manchester by the Sea

Who Will Win: Viola Davis, who probably should’ve won in 2012 for The Help, will win her first Oscar this year. Fences is an acting type of movie, if you know what I mean, and Davis shines alongside Denzel Washington in this slow burn tale.

Who Should Win: Harris should actually take home this trophy. Davis has nearly as much screen time as Washington and could have easily been nominated for Best Actress. I hate when the Academy plays around with the categories to suit their own preferences. As such, Harris’ turn as a drug-addicted mother who seeks redemption later on in life is one of the fiercest performances of the year.

Best Original Screenplay

  • Taylor Sheridan, Hell or High Water
  • Damien Chazelle, La La Land
  • Yorgos Lanthimos and Efthimis Filippou, The Lobster
  • Kenneth Lonergan, Manchester by the Sea
  • Mike Mills, 20th Century Women

Who Will Win: La La Land is going to win almost every Oscar that it’s up for. It’s such a swooning and melodic ride that I can’t really fault the Academy for embracing the front runner. Sure, Chicago and Moulin Rouge! were successful. But La La Land made the musical cool again.

Who Should Win: Who said Westerns were dead?! Taylor Sheridan’s Hell or High Water is a quiet contemplation on family, loyalty and doing the wrong thing for the right reasons. It’s an updated take on an old genre that mixes soft drama with snappy dialogue.

Best Adapted Screenplay

  • Eric Heisserer, Arrival
  • August Wilson, Fences
  • Allison Schroeder and Theodore Melfi, Hidden Figures
  • Luke Davis, Lion
  • Barry Jenkins with story by Tarell Alvin McCranley, Moonlight

Who Will Win: Barry Jenkins. By now, I think you have a good sense of my love for this movie. It’s subtle and understated yet layered with meaning and deep expression. If you need more of an argument, read this and tell me you’re not convinced.

Who Should Win: Moonlight is absolutely deserving of this award, but I also think Arrival should be considered as well. The Academy has long looked down on sci-fi, but Heisserer is able to use aliens as a backdrop for one of the most human stories of the year.

Oscars 2017: Date, Start Time & TV Channel

The 2017 Oscars are set to take place this Sunday, as the best films and performances of 2016 will be honored at the most prestigious awards show in the movie industry. This will be the 89th edition of the Academy Awards, which are presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The highlight of last year’s Oscars was without question Leonardo DiCaprio bringing home his long overdue first win in the Best Actor category, and it will be interesting to see what gets the internet buzzing this time around.

Oscars are up for grabs in a total of 24 different categories, and La La Land leads all films with a whopping 14 nominations. This is tied for the most nominations of all-time with All About Eve (1950) and Titanic (1997). La La Land is in great company, as both of these films won Best Picture and they combined for 17 total wins (6 for All About Eve and 11 for Titanic). Arrival and Moonlight were also popular with the Academy, with each film earning eight nominations and tying for second place.

Best Picture is the most coveted award, and Arrival, Fences, Hacksaw Ridge, Hell or High Water, Hidden Figures, La La Land, Lion, Manchester by the Sea, and Moonlight will be duking it out in this crowded field. The chances of Hell or High Water actually winning is microscopic, but that was easily my favorite movie of 2016. Jeff Bridges is a national treasure, and Ben Foster might be the most underrated actor in Hollywood.

But enough hot takes from me, let’s break down how you can tune into the 2017 Oscars.

University Of Alabama Football Team Eats An Insane Amount Of Food

Back in April of 2014, the NCAA ruled that scholarships would come with unlimited food for student athletes. It’s still total bullshit that the NCAA doesn’t pay the people that generate them an absurd amount of money, but at least this was a step in the right direction.

It’s been reported just how much money Alabama’s athletic program spent on food during the 2015-2016 academic year, and it sounds like student athletes are trying to get fairly compensated through binge-eating, which is a concept that I wholeheartedly support. Alabama spent $838,187 in meals and snacks, with most of that money going towards their football team. That makes a lot of sense, considering that they have the most players on their roster, they are gigantic dudes, and they probably want to eat their feelings after getting chewed out by that dickhead Nick Saban.

Via AL, here’s more details on Alabama’s food expenses.

The Crimson Tide football team accounted for 61.2 percent of the money spent on meals.

The total: $512,656.

Alabama’s men’s basketball team wasn’t far behind in the per-athlete spending. The 12 scholarship players on Avery Johnson’s team got an average of $5,725 per player.

For football, that number was $6,031 per athlete.

These totals don’t account for meals on the road traveling to games.

Sticking it to the man one soft serve ice cream at a time. Keep fighting the good fight, boys.

Sophia Amoruso: 22 Hottest Photos Of The Nasty Gal Founder

Sophia Amoruso, 32, did not make her name as a leggy brunette with gorgeous eyes, but she easily could have. Instead, Amoruso came to fame thanks to one of the most savvy business minds in the world and an innate knack for sales.

At 22, Amoruso started her own online eBay store selling vintage clothing and other chic items, which she named “Nasty Gal Vintage.” The online store quickly blew up and eventually led to Amoruso founding her own women’s fashion retail line, Nasty Gal.

Forbes even named her one of the wealthiest self-made women in the world last year. Her net-worth was estimated at $280 million, though Nasty Gal’s recent struggles may sink that number.

Still, Amoruso is one of the most impressive and charismatic women in the country. She’s got a 2014 New York Times Best Seller, a popular podcast, a coffee-table book, and an upcoming Netflix comedy (Girlboss) based on her meteoric rise (produced by Charlize Theron, no less) to her name. With her sharp mind and striking features, we’re confident she’ll find her way back to the top soon.

In the meantime, enjoy the tasteful glamor shots.

Oscars Host 2017: Who Is Hosting The Oscars?

The 89th edition of the Academy Awards are set to take place on Sunday, February 26. While The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will be responsible for handing out 24 different Oscars, Jimmy Kimmel will be in charge of the hosting duties.

He will open the festivities with a monologue, and hopefully, keep the show rolling along with plenty of funny jokes throughout the night. In case you don’t know much about Kimmel, I’ll give you a quick history lesson on the first-time Oscars host.

Kimmel was born in Brooklyn, New York, and he would move to Las Vegas, Nevada when he was nine-years-old. He attened the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for one year and Arizona State University for two years, failing to obtain a degree from either school. But more importantly, I’m sure he had himself one helluva time at those two colleges.

Kimmel got his start in the entertainment business in radio, as he held a number of hosting gigs all over the country. He held jobs for radio stations in Seattle, Tampa, Palm Springs, Tucson, and Los Angeles before making the jump to television. Kimmel had a ton of success with Comedy Central, as he co-hosted Win Ben Stein’s Money (1997-2000), created and co-hosted The Man Show (1999-2003), and created, produced, and co-starred on Crank Yankers (2002-2007)

Even though Kimmel clearly was a big deal before getting his own late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! has boosted his popularity to a new stratosphere. Kimmel began hosting the show on January 26, 2003, and it is still running strong today. Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been a staple of ABC’s programming for 14 years and counting.

With the 49-year-old Kimmel’s status entrenched as a household name, ABC decided to have him host the 2017 Oscars. I’m no physic, but I’ve got a damn good feeling that they will not regret their decision. Let’s break down how you watch Kimmel in action.

Watching Sara Underwood Deflate An Inner Tube Is Captivating

Just last week, we were blessed with a magnificent GIF of Sara Underwood putting on a life jacket. I may have watched it a dozen times, but that’s only because safety always comes first.

Yesterday, Sara was back at another exotic locale, and she was kind enough to star in a video of her deflating an inner tube. Watch as this poor inner tube is no match for her.

Wow, that was outstanding! But it was real ironic seeing Sara deflate something given that she does the exact opposite to my penis.

Sara opting to deflate an inner tube rather than trying to inflate one for a video was a real savvy move, though. You ever try to blow one of those pesky contraptions up? You need the lung capacity of f*cking David Blaine to do so. It’s a colossal pain in the ass that never ceases to leave me irritated and gasping for air. Team Pool Noodles for life.

FPS Games 2017: Top 5 Must-Play First Person Shooters

New FPS Games 2017

First person shooters are some of the most popular and best-selling genres out there. Always pushing the limits of the hardware they are released on, FPS games often become the flagship titles for their respective consoles. Though some FPS games have become an annual tradition, with Call of Duty’s sale numbers dropping hard in 2016, the throne is empty for a new first person shooter to become king. There are plenty of great games releasing throughout the coming year and we have picked some of the best titles to look out for in 2017.

Here is our list of the top five most exciting first person shooters releasing this year.

Prey

Developer: Arkane Studios
Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4
Release Date: May 5, 2017

As genre-bending as it is, I would be remiss if I did not mention one of the most anticipated games of the year. Prey is a reboot (definitely not a sequel) of a 2006 game with the same name. Instead of taking control of a mildly-depressed Native American man who is unhappy with his life on the reservation, you will take control of either a male or female version of Morgan Yu in the year 2032. Aboard a space station commissioned by an un-assassinated John F. Kennedy, you will fight your way through hoards of mysterious aliens in this open-world shooter. We have seen the inclusion of powers and abilities akin to the System Shock and Bioshock games, which is always a good thing. An hour of gameplay was just released yesterday and if Arkane Studios can manage to maintain the same level of awesome we saw in the demo for the entire duration of the game, we may just have a game of the year contender on our hands.

Quake Champions

Developer: id Software
Platforms: PC
Release Date: TBD 2017

If the success of 2016’s Doom reboot is any indication, people are ready for some throwbacks to a more old-school style of FPS. Gamers are ready to switch-up the tactics of the most recent generation of shooters and replace them with some high-octane, rocket-jumping deathmatch mayhem. Quake Champions promises to deliver the same blood-pumping, high-flying action that fans have come to expect from a Quake title with some serious graphical improvements. Champions will be the first proper entry in the Quake series since 2005 so it will be really fun to see what id Software has been able to come up with during the series’ twelve-year hiatus.

Star Citizen

Developer: Cloud Imperium Games
Platforms: PC, Linux
Release Date: TBD 2017

Another incredibly ambitious title, Star Citizen will attempt to be so much more than just a first person shooter. Star Citizen wants to be the universe. Developed via the second most successful campaign in Kickstarter history, Star Citizen is a hybrid FPS, space-combat simulator. Players will be able to explore a massively multiplayer persistent universe and engage in firefights or co-operate with other players. Star Citizen will also feature “emergent gameplay generated by players” and new, developer-made content released on a regular basis. If this gameplay demo is indicative of the final product, forget game of the year… this could be the game of the century.

Destiny 2

Developer: Bungie
Platforms: PC, Xbox One, Ps4
Release Date: TBD 2017

Destiny has changed substantially since it was first released in 2014. Although still fun, vanilla Destiny became a relentless albeit addictive grind. Bungie has continued to expand on the initial game with updates and expansions and two years later we have a much more polished and worthy title for it. Though we have yet to see any gameplay of Destiny 2 (or a trailer for that matter), we can rest assured that Bungie will build on the world and gameplay they have developed and release a much more complete and rewarding experience from the get-go. Although info is scarce on the development of Destiny 2, given the news that broke last week about Activision attaining a massive amount of Bungie stock if the game doesn’t release this year, it is safe to say that the release target should be met.

Battlefront 2

Developer: DICE
Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4
Release Date: TBD 2017

I’m almost ashamed to put this on the top five. After the disappointment of Star Wars Battlefront, DICE has made it really difficult not to be cautious about getting my hopes up for the sequel. However, with the impressive updates to Battlefront and the promise of a singleplayer campaign using that gorgeous Frostbite engine, it is hard not to salivate with my mouth agape just thinking about it. My initial impressions of the first Battlefront were that it was an incomplete game, but if DICE manages to maintain the essence of the original while building on that concept further, we may have a truly special Star Wars game on our hands the likes we haven’t seen since the days of Dark Forces.
