Michigan (16-9, 6-6 Big Ten) will host No. 11 Wisconsin (21-4, 10-2) in what may be a must-win for the Wolverines. Michigan isn’t quite out of the postseason chase just yet, but they’re on the brink of missing out on the big dance. A win against the Badgers would speak volumes about the team’s capability and give them some much-needed momentum heading into another tough matchup against Purdue on February 25. Two wins against top 25 opponents will force a lot of people to look past their so-so record.
“This is a great opportunity for us to embrace this challenge, grow from it and build a resume that can put us in postseason play,” Michigan coach John Beilein told the media. “So, we’ve got that part done, now we’ve got to go do it again and again and again until the season’s over.
Michigan fell to Wisconsin 68-64 back in January, so this rematch is sure to be heated.
