However, there was no proof of Birdman actually possessing the million dollar ticket other than a simple “just cashed in a milli” Tweet following the Packers’ victory. We’ll have to take him at his word.

Birdman Bets Another $5 Mil On The Giants – Super Bowl XLVI (Giants 21, Patriots 17)

A year after (allegedly) winning $1 million on the Packers, Birdman again made headlines at the books when the following year he foolishly wagered $5 million on the Patriots.

Birdman challenged anyone to come and match his bet. Of course, fellow rapper and serial gambler 50 Cent hopped into the fray, although 50 only placed $1 million on the underdog Giants at +2.5. As we all know now, it was 50 Cent and the Giants that walked away winners.

Mr. Las Vegas Takes Home $1 Million In The ’80s – Super Bowl XXIII (49ers 20, Bengals 16)

In 1989, Bob Stupak, who was better known as “Mr. Las Vegas,” put a cool $1 million on the Cincinnati Bengals (-7) against the San Francisco 49ers. Although the Bengals may have lost, Mr. Las Vegas was able to cover by just one point.

According to legend, Stupak hedged his original wager at halftime with a smaller bet on the Niners. That’s how the pros do it, baby.

Charles Barkley Bets On The Patriots Before They Were A Powerhouse -Super Bowl XXXVI (Patriots 20, Rams 17)

Hall of Fame basketball player and even better announcer Charles Barkley caused a controversy in Las Vegas after Super Bowl XXXVI over a decade ago. Barkley bet $550,000 on the New England Patriots, who were massive 14-point underdogs to St. Louis. Barkley then placed another $50,000 on the money line. The Pats won 20-17, winning both bets for Barkley.

It was later discovered that Barkley didn’t have a sufficient line of credit and hadn’t signed a marker, but was still allowed to place the bet. The Mandalay Bay didn’t want to pay Barkley, but the outspoken NBA star demanded his winnings of nearly $800,000.

Mandalay eventually caved and Sir Charles cashed out a fat $800,000.

Mozhdah Jamalzadah is a very popular singer in Afghanistan. However, she lived most of her life in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. When she only five-years-old, Jamalzadah and her family had to escape a brutal civil war in her home country. But when she got older, she wrote songs that inspired the people of Afghanistan, making her an instant hit in her former home. She touches the hearts of many with her powerful, inspirational lyrics and gorgeous voice.

Jamalzadah is college educated. She studied broadcast journalism at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. She also studied political science and philosophy at the University of British Columbia. Jamalzadah is now a model, a singer and a talk show host in her former land of Afghanistan. This 31-year-old inspiration wrote songs that told stories about Afghan heroines, in effect, becoming widely popular to many women listening-in on the radios of Afghanistan. Her song Dokhtare Afghan (Afghan Girl) was an instant hit.

The song “Dokhtare Afghan” was about the bravery of Afghan Women. On International Women’s Day 2010, she sang this song for former US President Barrack Obama and his wife Michelle, becoming the first Afghani to perform at the White House.

She moved back to Afghanistan once she got an offer from an up-and-coming Afghan TV station 1TV. She hosted Afghanistan’s Got Talent. She later created her very own show on that network called The Mozhdah Show. In that show, she discusses some of the taboo topics of life in Afghanistan. She also talks about how it’s like to be a child, a women or a person growing up in a nation often torn apart by war. She provides the world a glimpse of the current situation of Afghanistan through the experiences of individuals living and struggling in their homeland.

Up next in ESPN’s critically acclaimed 30 for 30 documentary series is This Was The XFL. I’ve been chomping at the bit to check this one out since the trailer dropped back in December, as the XFL was both a revolutionary and totally ridiculous concept.

Vince McMahon of the WWE and Dick Ebersol of NBC tried to create an extreme alternative to the NFL, but they ended up failing miserably. The league folded after one season in 2001, which feels like it was a million years ago. Ryan Lock, a 20-year-old chef from West Sussex, who volunteered to join Kurdish fighters in Syria, chose to kill himself rather than become a prisoner, his parents told U.K. media on Wednesday.  had no military experience but felt compelled to lend a hand in the terror fight,

Lock joined Kurdish fighters, despite having no military experience, because felt compelled to lend a hand in the terror fight, Sky News reported. Lock told his parents he was going on vacation in Turkey last August, but instead joined the Kurdish militia known as the YPG.

Lock and at least four other fighters were surrounded by ISIS fighters on Dec. 21 in Ja’bar, west of the terror group’s Syrian hub of Raqqa, the BBC reported. None of the five made it out alive.

After other Kurdish fighters received Lock’s body, they noticed a “trace of a gunshot wound was found under the chin” suggesting he killed himself, the BBC added.  His father, Jon Plater, said that’s exactly what he believes his son did.

“Our martyr fell putting up a brave fight,” YPG General Command member Mihyedin Xirki said at a ceremony honoring Lock. Video showed fighters carrying his coffin — along with a British flag and his photo — to an ambulance.

Speaking to the BBC, Kurdish rights activist Mark Campbell said: “I personally believe he deserves the very highest of military honors for such outstanding bravery in the face of such a barbaric enemy,”

This, this right here, is the definition of a true hero. Just a 20-year-old kid who dropped everything to travel across the world to fought for what he thought was right.

She calls herself an advocate for women and Israel. According to Ivanka, she was her father’s advisor “on women’s health and women” during his presidential campaign. She claims responsibility for her father’s stance on women’s issues. However, she did have some mixed feelings about her father’s campaign. In October 2015, Ivanka said, “As a citizen, I love what he’s doing. As a daughter, it’s obviously more complicated.”

I’m on record as saying I consider Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park, to be legitimately geniuses. Mensa Society type shit. They were able to turn a cartoon made out of construction paper about fart jokes into one of the longest running televisions shows of all time, a critically acclaimed Broadway play, dozens of video games, and the opportunity to do essentially whatever they want after their run with South Park comes to an end.

The most impressive thing about South Park’s evolution is how it currently serves as one of the sharpest political and societal satires in American culture. When something happens in America, people think to themselves ‘I wonder what South Park has to say about all of this’?

Which is why I absolutely shocked when I found out that Parker and Stone considered Trump too ridiculous to even parody.

Jack Palkovic, a 21-year-old Donald Trump supporter, was beaten up on the University of California Berkeley campus the day after violent protests led authorities to cancel a speech from controversial Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos.

Speaking to KCCI, Palkovic said he was wearing a “Make America Great Again” cap and on his way to class Thursday when a white SUV slammed to a stop. According to his account, two young men got out of the SUV and ran toward him.

One of the men screamed an epithet, grabbed Palkovic’s hat and pummeled him before the two got back in the vehicle and tried to drive away. An Associated Press reporter witnessed the attack. Police arrived, blocked their escape and arrested both men.

Palkovic says he is a member of the college Republicans and helped organize Wednesday’s event with Milo Yiannopoulos, a polarizing editor of Breitbart News.

Prosecutors say that Sarah Stern, a 19-year-old Neptune City woman whose body has never been found, was robbed and strangled by two friends. They speculate that her body was tossed over the Route 35 bridge in Belmar, where her car was found in the early hours of December 3.

Authorities claim to have footage of a recorded conversation between Liam McAtasney, 19, and someone else that purportedly implicates McAtasney in the murder of the Stern.

According to Asbury Park Press, McAtasney, also of Neptune City, is charged with Stern’s murder, felony murder, robbery, disturbing human remains, conspiring with another to disturb human remains, and hindering apprehension or prosecution.

Prosecutors allege that Stern was robbed after she withdrew large amounts of cash from the bank.

McAtasney and Stern were said to have known each other because their families were close friends.

A friend of McAtaseny, Preston Taylor, 19, of Neptune City, is charged with disturbing human remains, conspiring with McAtasney to disturb human remains, and hindering apprehension or prosecution.

Michael Stern, Sarah’s father, only learned of his child’s murder Wednesday after McAtasney and Taylor were arrested.

Until then, “he always had hope,” family attorney Charles Stone said.

Teresa Gillard, 42, has been charged with aggravated assault after her boyfriend claimed she stabbed him for turning down a threesome with a woman she met at the local dog park.

Gillard, a resident of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, has officially been charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct.

According to the police report, Gillard offered her boyfriend a threesome with another woman that Gillard met at the local dog park. After an argument broke out between Gillard and her boyfriend, Gillard is accused of stabbing her boyfriend with a pair of scissors that he actually handed her. I’m certainly not the king of good decisions, but I’m definitely sure handing your psycho girlfriend a pair of scissors during an argument qualifies as a bad one.

Gillard told police she stabbed the victim in the arm with a pair of scissors that he had handed her, a police report stated.

 Police said the man then locked her out of the house and told her to leave. She re-entered the home through a back door and the physical altercation continued until he locked her out again, a police report stated.

Gillard then called police from a neighbor’s house to report the man had been drinking, had beaten her up and threatened to shoot her, police said.

Gillard also admitted to Lake Havasu City police that she drank a Budweiser Strawberryrita and two shots of peppermint schnapps prior to the stabbing. If Gillard had taken a shot of Jack, she would have crushed the Red Neck Grand Slam of alcohol.

Gillard is currently in custody at the Mohave County Jail.

No one was injured in a small fire that was extinguished at Council Bluffs’ Popeyes on Monday evening. Robert New, 42, faces a charge of first-degree arson – a class B felony – and remains jailed after the incident.

When firefighters arrived at 3440 W. Broadway, they found heavy smoke inside the men’s restroom emanating from a trash can fire. The fire was extinguished, and a fire investigator arrived on scene. No one was injured.

According to the report, investigators spoke with the employees who stated just before the fire broke out a man wearing a green mask came into the building and into the bathroom.

The restaurant’s manager said that New is a transient who regularly comes in to ask for food and dig through their dumpster, the report reads.

New is currently being held at the Pottawattamie County Jail on charges of arson and possession of drug paraphernalia, with his bond set at $25,300.

To no one’s surprise, the New England Patriots are back in the Super Bowl, where they’ll square off with the high-flying Atlanta Falcons. The Pats were here two years ago, and won their fourth Super Bowl title in a thrilling game over the Seattle Seahawks, but were bounced by the eventual champion Denver Broncos in last year’s AFC Championship game. This season New England seemingly breezed through their schedule, including the first four games without quarterback Tom Brady because of his nonsensical suspension from the never ending bullshit saga that is Deflategate. They still managed to go 14-2 despite the controversy.

How do the Patriots do it every year? Well for starters, they’ve had the best quarterback and coach of all time for the past 16 years with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick respectively. Years upon years of the Atlanta sports mystery could possibly come to an end this Sunday. I bet you didn’t think that was something you’d hear at the start of the NFL season. Going into this year, I did not expect much (or anything at all) from the Atlanta Falcons. I thought that they’d be able to put up points like they do most seasons, but wouldn’t be able to stop anyone on defense. Needless to say, I was very wrong because they’re the NFC Champions and have the probable MVP on their team in Matt Ryan. In case you didn’t know or are just an idiot, Julio Jones is a goddamn animal.

I’m still having a hard time believing that the Falcons are in the Super Bowl because throughout my life they just haven’t been a team that wins the big game, but who knows, maybe that changes on Sunday. In the meantime, here’s the Atlanta team that has proved me wrong all year.
