WWE
Two legends are returning tonight! Time to eat some WWE-flavored member-berries! “The Demon of Death Valley” The Undertaker will show up to send chills down the spine of the entire roster. “HBK” Shawn Michaels will also return to delight of the crowd. I don’t know why these two legends are returning (probably a ratings thing). But who’s complaining?
WWE Monday Night Raw Results
Mick Foley calls out The Undertaker
Foley hypes The Undertaker, and asks for him to come out. He wants to face off against The Deadman one more time. He wants to relive those days where his hair stood on end whenever The Demon of Death Valley walked to the ring. The lights go out. And then Stephanie McMahon’s music hits. Lulz. Nice trolling, Stephanie. She looks upset and says she’s going to give Mick a poor performance review. She berates the Hardcore Legend. And then…the lights go out again and The Undertaker’s music hits.
Luke Gallows vs. Sheamus
Both men lock up early on (trading headlocks and holds). But Sheamus is a brute and fights back, runs into the ropes and propels himself into Luke with a shoulder tackle. Luke hits back hard. But Sheamus regains control with a sick kick to Gallows’ head.
Luke Gallows takes control and beats down the big Irishman. Karl Anderson spouts off on the mouth at commentary. Sheamus is lying on his ass as we go to commercial break.
Back from break, and Gallows got Sheamus in a headlock. But the big Irishman makes a comeback and starts kicking arse. He hits Gallows right on the bridge of the nose with his knee. He clubs Luke with his forearm on his chest at least 10 times. Karl Anderson reminds the audience on commentary that we have a hot Asian wife. Sheamus looks to be in control, but Gallows breaks out of the Irish Curse back-breaker and hits the Irishman with an intense kick.
It wouldn’t be long until Sheamus was back in control. He yells, “Fella!” He’s going for a Brogue Kick. But then over on commentary, Karl Anderson hits Cesaro over the head with a bottle. Sheamus is distracted. Gallows hits Sheamus with a high-impact move. He pins the Irishman. 1, 2…he kicks out! Cesaro regains control on the ramp, knocks Anderson on his ass, and now he’s swinging through the air. Now, Gallows is distracted. Luke turns around and eats a Brogue Kick.
Sheamus defeats Luke Gallows
Backstage in Stephanie McMahon’s Office
Some guy is messing around with a fern in her office. She tells him to get lost. Kinda random. Sasha & Bayley walk-in, acting hurt. Stephanie gets in their faces and schedules a tag team match: Bayley & Banks will face off against the imposing team of Nia Jax and Charlotte tonight. Stephanie says that she’s the real boss, and not Sasha. Stephanie looks like she’s going to pounce on Banks. I wonder if they’ll have a match someday. Sasha vs. Stephanie would definitely be something huge.
Neville vs. Lince Dorado
Dorado begins the match with two dropkicks, a springboard stunner, leg scissors and a dive over the top rope. The Golden Linx is going wild! Dorado hits a cross-body off the top rope. But Neville can’t be held down for too long. Neville fires back, and soon he’s in complete control over his opponent. Corey Graves calls Neville, “the most dangerous guy in the cruiserweight division.”
Neville is in control. He dominants Dorado with ease. Neville suplexes the smaller man and then locks him into a submission hold. Lince tries to fight back. But “The Man That Gravity Forgot” is way too intense and strong. He puts Lince into a variation of the Rings of Saturn. Dorado taps.
Neville defeats Lince Dorado by submission
Post-match: Neville continues the assault on Lince Dorado. He looks like he wants to kill the guy. Rich Swann’s music hits and he races to the ring. Swann kicks some serious ass and Neville retreats.
Big Cass vs. Jinder Mahal
We are back from commercial break and Big Cass is already in control of Jinder Mahal. Cass is in control early-on and Mahal is just trying to dodge and slip away from the big man. But Mahal is no wimp and levels Cass. Mahal chokes Cass on the bottom rope and later hits him with a double drop kick to the head. Mahal is in total control and is being a bit cocky about it.
Big Cass fights back and throws Mahal nearly across the ring. Rusev tries to distract Big Cass. But HBK fires back with a sweet chin music. Big Cass kicks ass in the ring. He hits Mahal with an East River Crossing elbow and that was all she wrote.
Big Cass defeats Jinder Mahal
HBK Returns!
Before the HBK comes out: Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley are backstage. She tells Mick he has one hour to lure The Undertaker to the ring. And she means business.
Shawn Michaels’ music hits. He hams his way down to the ring as the crowd goes wild. He grabs a microphone and the music dies down. The crowd chants “HBK.” He tells the crowd to keep chanting because he needs to catch his breath because of that run to the ring.
HBK talks about the Royal Rumble as the crowd chants for him to come back for one more match. HBK says he won’t crack to peer pressure. Instead he plugs his new movie hitting theaters January 20th called The Resurrection of Gavin Stone. Rusev music hits and he comes out to ringside with Jinder Mahal and his wife Lana. Rusev trash-talks Michaels, and says that everyone forgot about his career (obvious trolling lulz).
How ya doin’? Enzo & Big Cass’ music hit. Enzo comes out in a rinky-dink wheelchair. They come down to the ring, Enzo hobbles out of his wheelchair and limps to the ring like a true G. Cass & Enzo both pay their respects to Michaels. They then start roasting Rusev, Jinder and Lana. Big Cass makes a reference to the films Blow and The Pianist for today’s dose of sexual innuendo. Big Cass gets up in Rusev’s face and challenges him to a match. Rusev volunteers Jinder Mahal for the match. HBK says he’ll be hanging around at ring side. We go to commercial break.
Jack Gallagher vs. Drew Gulak
Drew Gulak is surprisingly intense in this contest. He tosses Gallagher into the ropes like a rag-doll. Gallagher is also gifted on the top rope and with submission. But Gallagher is a true showman. Jack makes a comeback and makes it look easy. He’s a real character. He’s funny how he moves around in the ring. Jack headbutts Drew, and then charges his opponent in the corner with a double drop kick. 1, 2, 3 and Gallagher wins!
Jack Gallagher defeats Drew Gulak
Post-match: Gallagher invites Ariya Daivari to parlay with him tomorrow night at WWE 205 Live. And if Daivari declines his offer then they’ll have to settle it with fistycuffs.
Shawn Michaels is seen speaking to someone backstage.
Backstage Segment
Bayley and Sasha Banks are talking backstage. Bayley is just so excited that she’ll have a match against Charlotte at the Royal Rumble. Sasha has her back and is hoping to get a shot at Bayley’s championship after she defeats Charlotte. The now-reigning Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte appears on screen, clapping with a dead-pan look on her face. Hilarious. She discredits both Sasha and Bayley. Asks how would Sasha know how to defeat the Queen when she loses against her at each big event? Good point, Charlotte.
But then out of nowhere, Nia Jax comes in and goes ape sh*t on almost everyone. She attacks Sasha’s hurt leg, and even presses the Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte. The Queen look shook. Nia is a she-beast.
Seth Rollins vs. Braun Strowman
Rollins starts off hot with a drop kick and then attacks Braun in the corner. Rollins controls much of the match early on, successfully blocking Braun’s offense. But Braun is just too strong, and one shot from him has Rollins laying. A clubbing blow to the back of Rollins’ neck has got the Architect down. Braun is like a wrecking ball charging Seth into the corner. Strowman hits Braun with a “wicked clothesline.” Braun is solidly in control as the crowd chants “Let’s go, Rollins!”
Braun drops an elbow right into Rollins heart. But Seth is very resourceful, and he’ll even grab at Braun’s beard to gain the upper-hand. Seth fights back with a flurry of kicks, but Braun is too much of a beast to stop. Braun charges Seth, and Rollins falls outside the ring while we go to commercial break.
And back from the break, Rollins is rallying back. Seth hits many high impact moves including a suicide dive to the outside onto Braun. He’s trying to slay the beast. Braun is a monster who almost crushes Rollins. But Seth is a fighter, and can really kick ass. However, his pride may be his downfall, as he may have bitten off more than he can chew. Rollins attempts a dive from the top rope to Braun, whose slouched over the barricade. But Strowman moves, and Rollins crashes in epic fashion.
Braun messes up Seth and tries to drag him back to the ring before the referee makes the 10 count. But they can’t make it, and the match ends with a double count out.
Neither man wins. A double count-out for Rollins and Strowman
Post-match: Braun is pissed for the double count out. He grabs a steel chair. But Seth is able to take it away in the ring, and the big man backs off as Rollins starts swinging. Strowman walks to the back as Seth’s music plays. Seth stands in the ring, with an intense look on his face. He’s still holding that chair.
WWE United States Championship handicap match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho
Before the match, Braun Strowman came out and beat up Reigns. Reigns goes in the ring to try and fight back Owens and Jericho. But then Braun gets into the ring, and there’s a three-on-one gang assault onto Reigns. But then “Crossfit Jesus” Seth Rollins comes in to save the day. All of a sudden, Reigns and Rollins are on top, chasing away their three foes. Then Stephanie McMahon comes out to announce the handicap match for later in the night. Meanwhile, up next, we get to see Braun Strowman fight Seth Rollins in the ring.
No Contest
Intro: In Stephanie McMahon & Mick Foley’s Office
Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon talk about Foley’s performance review and the rumors of The Undertaker appearing tonight. Then Rollins comes in, announcing his involvement in the Royal Rumble match. Then Braun Strowman burst in, asking for either Roman Reigns or Goldberg. Both Reigns and Goldberg are not in the building. Braun gets Rollins instead, who stares down the big man. Seth throws the first punch, and they fight it out. Stephanie screams for security.
WWE Monday Night Raw Preview
Roman Reigns is also set to put his United States Championship on the line in a handicap match against the devious and hilarious duo of Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho. Can two people share one championship? Probably not most people. But Owens and Jericho are the best of friends. So, they may just be the exception.
Again, why are HBK and The Undertaker coming back? I’m genuinely interested in why. Is Shawn Michaels going to announce his return to the ring after nearly seven years in retirement? And isn’t The Undertaker a member of SmackDown? Why is he showing up on Raw? Doesn’t the brand split matter? Is The Undertaker switching brands? Or does he have another big announcement to make? It’s probably to announce his participation in the Royal Rumble match on January 29th.
Imagine the prospect of HBK returning. WWE is in serious need of more established stars on Raw, Michaels would easily fill that void. We can get dream matches like HBK vs. Seth Rollins, HBK vs. Kevin Owens, HBK vs. Roman Reigns, etc.
Neville has brought new life into the floundering cruiserweight division. What kind of excitement will he bring tonight? And how will Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann be able to stop “The Man That Gravity Forgot?”
And this may be the hottest topic of them all: when will Emmalina make her debut? We’ve been seeing her video packages for a long time now. Give the fans what they want, Vince! Apparently, she’s coming soon in the new year. But when? When?!?
