If you’ve never heard of Festivus, prepare yourself to learn about the funniest fake holiday in the history of holidays. Festivus has become such a cult success, that it’s become both a parody and a secular holiday. Yes, according to the NY Times, there are many real people who celebrate the very fake (now real-ish) holiday:

Those two rituals — accusing others of being a disappointment and wrestling — are traditions of Festivus as explained on the show by the character Frank Costanza. On that episode he tells Kramer that he invented the holiday when his children were young and he found himself in a department store tug of war with another Christmas shopper over a doll. “I realized there had to be a better way,” Frank says.

So he coined the slogan “A Festivus for the rest of us” and formulated the other rules: the holiday occurs on Dec. 23, features a bare aluminum pole instead of a tree and does not end until the head of the family is wrestled to the floor and pinned.

Despite the fact that Festivus appeared in Seinfeld’s ninth and final season, Fesituvs remains as one of the most everlasting and ingenious creations to ever come out of the show.

So if you hate all the commercial and religious aspects of Christmas like Frank Costanza does, then you’ll love these Festivus memes.

Both carrying winless bowl streaks to Tampa Bay, Florida, Florida and Iowa both look to snap their postseason funk on January 2 in the Outback Bowl at Raymond James Stadium. The Hawkeyes have not won a bowl game since 2010 while the Gators are losers of their last two. That includes last season’s beatdown from Michigan by way of a 41-7 score. Both teams bring lackluster offenses but capable defenses. The score will likely be close, but could entail sloppy play on the offensive side of the ball by both teams. Turnovers will be in attendance.

Iowa came out of the gate with a gut punching loss to Stanford in the opening weekend, and were 5-4 a little over half-way through the season. They rattled off three straight wins to match the 8-4 record of the Gators, whose latest game was a landslide loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game for the second consecutive year. Both programs certainly hope to point to this upcoming game as a potential stepping-stone for a more consistent 2017 season.

Bryan Cranston and James Franco appeared on the frankly awesome series ‘Hot Ones’. ‘Hot Ones’ is essentially a talk show except the celebrities eat progressively hotter wings as they promote whatever it is that they’re promoting.

So while stopping by to promote their new (horrible looking) movie Why Him?, Franco and Cranston got into their respective histories in the food industry. While Franco unsurprisingly told a story about picking up chicks in a McDonald’s drive-through, ole’ Walter White here comes out of left field with an absolutely wild story about how him and his brother were one basically prime murder suspects.

The story of Cranston’s murder investigation starts at the 6:10 mark, and frankly seems like it could only happen to Bryan Cranston.

Dan Goldstein is a Brooklyn attorney who reportedly yelled ‘your father is ruining this country’ at Ivanka Trump on a JetBlue flight from New York to Palm Beach on December 22.

The President-Elect’s daughter was on a JetBlue flight departing from New York JFK Thursday morning with her children when Goldsten started screaming, “Your father is ruining the country” and “Why is she on our flight? She should be flying private.” Goldstein reportedly had his own child in his arms as he went on the tirade.

Goldstein ended up getting kicked off the flight, which was delayed because of his behavior. His husband, Matthew Lasner, tweeted about the incident, but later deleted his messages and then his entire Twitter page.

JetBlue issued a statement, confirming that the Lasner and Goldstein were removed from the flight.

“The decision to remove a customer from a flight is not taken lightly. If the crew determines that a customer is causing conflict on the aircraft, the customer will be asked to deplane, especially if the crew feels the situation runs the risk of escalation during flight. Our team worked to re-accommodate the party on the next available flight.”

Goldstein is a Brooklyn lawyer who was admitted to the State Bar of California in December 2002, and became inactive in January 2012. According to the International Ombudsman Association, Goldstein previously worked in San Francisco for the U.S. Mint as an Employee and Labor Relations Specialist.

While it isn’t in the top tier of marquee games this bowl season, The 2017 Cotton Bowl will still provide one of the more intriguing matchups with (No. 8) Wisconsin playing (No.12) Western Michigan at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will kickoff the January 2 festivities at 1:00 P.M EST and feature an under the radar Badger squad and the only remaining undefeated team not named Alabama in the WMU Broncos. The MAC conference member is led by fourth-year head coach P.J. Fleck. Fleck, just 36-years-old, is a likely candidate for vacant Power 5 conference head coaching jobs once the season concludes. Capping off the season with one more win will undoubtedly draw the attention of athletic directors, especially considering the unblemished record.

Wisconsin is no cupcake however, despite their collapse against Penn State in the Big Ten Championship Game. Like WMU, Wisconsin emphasizes ball control by running the football at a heavy dose. Donald Trump is less than a month away from stepping into his role as President of the United States. January 20, 2017 is the official date when Barry O calls it quits to retire on a golf course somewhere (presumably). Trump’s inauguration will obviously be huge. But what tunes will be rockin’ at the upcoming Trump presidential extravaganza? We’ll give you a look at the entertainment scheduled to celebrate next month’s inauguration of this infamous orange ham. Hit the music!

Right now, there are only two musical performances scheduled for the event. The first singer will be Jackie Evancho, a 16-year-old America’s Got Talent contestant, who will be starting off the show with the “Star-Spangled Banner.” This is her second time performing in front of the President of the United States; in 2010, she sang “Oh Holy Night” at the National Christmas Tree lighting and met President Barack Obama.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir are scheduled to be the second musical act of the evening. On Thursday, this group announced their participation in Trump’s swearing-in ceremony. This choir is no stranger to presidential inaugurations, as they previously performed at the inauguration of George H.W. Bush, Richard Nixon and Lyndon Johnson. This group also sang at former President George W. Bush’s inaugural parade.

According to the The Wrap on Wednesday, Donald Trump is very unhappy that many mainstream celebrities have declined to participate in his inauguration. Music icons like Elton John, Garth Brooks and Celine Dion refuse to take part in Trump’s festivities. Opera singer Andrea Bocelli was once scheduled to perform, but backed out after receiving intense backlash from angry voices on the internet.

Besides this much-anticipated inauguration of the infamous Trump, there are two scheduled inaugural balls. The Great American Inauguration Ball is being held this week. But the All American Inaugural Ball is scheduled the day before Trump takes office. The website for the All American Ball says that it will showcase a “stellar list of special guests, plus multiple areas of entertainment and attractions, which represent the diversity, energy and promise of America.”

If you want to celebrate Trump’s victory in grand fashion than the All-American Inaugural Ball may be what’s right for you. But you’ll have to travel all the way to the nation’s capital to see the event, which will take place at the Hyatt Regency Washington Capitol Hill from 9 pm to midnight. And tickets for this event don’t come cheap. Even though this ball is open to the public, tickets are currently going for $250 per person. And that price is only for a limited time, as single tickets will soon go for $350. Yikes!

But who will be the musical guests at the All American Inaugural Ball? Beau Davidson may be the most famous name on the list. Earlier this year, he sang “Stand By Me” at Trump’s Mar-A-Lago. He even added his own words to the song, “So Donald, Donald stand by us, and we’ll stand by you.” This is totally cringe-worthy, hilarious and worth watching.

DJ Romin is also in the building! His real name is Romin Zandi, he’s in his early 20s and spins Hip-Hop, House, Club, Electronic, and Latin music. He mainly performs in Washington DC, so he was an easy local talent to snag for the event. I don’t know much about him. He’s certainly no Deadmau5. The Mixx and The Reagan Years will also be playing at this event. They’re actually one band, but each name represents an alter-ego of the group. When they’re going by the name The Reagan Years, they exclusively cover hit songs from the ’80s like “Don’t Stop Believing” from Journey. “The Reagan Years is one of the HOTTEST 80’s cover band in the US!” the All American Inaugural Ball says on its website. “You will swear you’ve gone back in time…”

Meanwhile, The Mixx is being described as “the Mid-Atlantic’s hottest Party Band.” Instead of playing music exclusive to the 1980s, they sing hit songs that span across five decades. DJ Young Rye is also scheduled to spin at this event. He’s the cousin of Just Blaze, well-known in the music industry for producing many of Jay Z’s songs. DJ Young Rye’s real name is Ryan Kersey. The last DJ on the list is DJ Freedom. The All American Inaugural Ball describes DJ Freedom as someone who will get “you in the mood to celebrate!” They claim that “DJ Freedom will be taking requests and spinning all your favorite dance tunes.” He sounds like just your typical DJ. The musical group “A Place To Be Trio” will also be performing at the ball. Each singer is one with some type of disability. Brendan Friedrich is blind and aspires to be the America’s first blind meteorologist. Amy Stone has Cerebral Palsy, and looks to use her music to change society’s perception of people in wheelchairs. Forrest Allen is the third member, who endured a Traumatic Brain Injury resulting from a snowboarding accident in 2011. A documentary on Allen will be released next month, entitled: High Notes. I think we might have just found the next WWE women’s tag team champions. I usually hate a 2-on-1 fight, but watching those two work together was poetry in motion. As for the woman who found herself on the wrong side of the handicap match, I won’t be shedding any tears for her. Dashcam footage of the attack on the Christmas market in Berlin has been released online. The video became available as police launched a series of raids across the country as they tried to find Anis Amris, the Tunisian ISIS memeber responsible for the attack that left 12 dead and 48 injured.

Amri was born in the desert town of Tataouine in 1992. Amri used a pistol to kill Polish truck driver Lukasz Uran, before taking control of the truck, which he then drove directly into the market at Breitscheidplatz, which is near the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church.

In August 2016 he was arrested with a fake Italian passport and released but his phone was said to be monitored. He then disappeared in December, according to Die Welt.  A Facebook profile in his name shows ‘likes’ linked to Tunisian terror group Ansar al-Sharia whose extremists murdered 22 at Tunis’ Bardo Museum in March 2015 and then 39 tourists at a beach resort in Sousse.  

Amri has temporary permission to stay in the country but was due to face an asylum hearing. Police are believed to have found his blood in the truck’s cab and now assume that the suspect may be badly injured.

Amri was living in Berlin but police believe he has links to North Rhine-Westphalia – the industrial region of Germany containing Cologne, Dortmund and Bonn. His ID was issued on the town of Kleve close to the border with the Netherlands and Belgium.

It’s possible that New York City has jaded me over the years, but if I gave money to every homeless person I saw on the street, I’d be on the street with them. That’s why we should all be thankful for people like Tatum Cabot. The sophomore at the University of Memphis is studying Occupational Therapy because she “loves to help people.” Ideally, she would like to work with children with special needs or down syndrome. Name one thing on your bucket list.

One thing on my bucket list is to travel to Australia. I want to see the animals and nature there as well as hear the awesome accents. I also want to see giraffes because I am a giraffe fanatic!!

Cliché, but where do you see yourself in five years? Ready, set, go!

In five years, I see myself being an Occupational Therapist working with down syndrome, or kids with special needs. I want to have a concrete job before I get that ring. I want to be married by the time I am 25 and have kids by the age of 30. It seems like I have it planned out but it really depends on the guy and how mature he is and how well supported he is before we step foot into marriage. Of course this is the plan but I trust God with my future and look forward to it!

Who do you look up to the most and why?

I look up to my friend Jessica the most. Jessica is more than a friend, she is a sister. she has always been there for me and normally gives me the tough love and is not afraid to tell me the truth and how it is. While she is married and moved away now I still look up to her. I look up to her for her past life, what she has persevered and overcome, for how she treats others who have hurt her, her love for the Lord and her personality to do so, her laugh and vibrant attitude, and now her marriage and strength being away from family. I love Jessica (mills) Locke and I am forever thankful for her!

Olivia Olson must be the most gorgeous voice actor of all time. She is most-famously known for her beautiful voice on the hit cartoon show Adventure Time. An Afriqiyah Airways Airbus A320 flight 8U209 has been hijacked by pro-Gadhafi terrorists who have threatened to blow up the plane if their demands aren’t met. The plane was flying an inter-Libya route: from Sebha to Tripoli, the Libya’s capital, when it was hijacked by two men and forced to land in Malta.

Update 10:00 AM–The Maltese Prime Minister has announced that the situation is now stable and the hijackers have been led away in handcuffs.

What Happened?

Afriqiyah Airways Flight 80U209 was on its way from Sebha, a desert city in Southwest Libya, to Tripoli, when two hijackers armed with hand grenades took over the airplane.  The pilot reported via the radio that their plane had been hijacked and that he was trying to land the plane in Tripoli, but the hijackers instead forced him to land on the mediterranean island of Malta.

Once the plane landed the terrorists made themselves known. They announced that they were supporters of the deceased Colonel Moammar Gadhafi and that they wanted political asylum. If they were not granted the asylum, they would blow themselves and the 109 passengers (plus cabin crew) up. As time passed, the hijackers began releasing more and more hostages–first 25 passengers (probably women and children), then another 40.

After some time, the entire plane was released and the two hijackers thankfully gave themselves up and were taken away in handcuffs.

Who Were The Hijackers?

The names of the hijackers haven’t been released yet, but we can confirm that two men have been led away in handcuffs.

The origin of the flight, Sebha, is a hotbed of political tribal violence between tribes loyal to Gadhafi and anti-Gadhafi tribes. The two men who hijacked the plane claimed to be pro-Gadhafi troops.

UCONN -4 vs Auburn

I can’t say I know too much about either team (and pretty much every other team), if history tells us anything it’s that UCONN is really good at basketball, and Auburn is not. So based on the history of both teams alone, I’m easily taking UCONN here. I also like how UCONN is the home team. There’s my analysis of both teams for this pick. Let’s Go Huskies.

Minnesota -13 vs Arkansas State

Love the Gophers here. They’ve been playing some great basketball this year, and I can’t imagine Arkansas State is capable of playing quality basketball. To be honest, I’m actually not sure if Minnesota is playing well this year, but they were one of my winning Locks of the Week a few weeks ago, so that’s basically the only reason I’m taking Minnesota.

I’ll just come out and say that this will probably be the lone loss for the day because when I checked the spreads for each game, not all of them were out yet and this was one of the first ones I saw so I just made it one of my picks. So yeah, feel free to go against me on this pick if you’d like.

Little fun fact about myself, I’m a huge Harvard guy. I don’t care what the sport is, I love betting on Harvard any chance I get. Couldn’t tell you if Houston is good or not, and I don’t care either. Harvard is going to walk into their gym and beat the pants off of them tonight, and by beating the pants off of them I mean they’ll do just enough to cover.

Providence +9 @ Boston College – Lock of the Week

Might be my favorite bet of the year so far. Providence is sneaky good, and quietly tied for first place in the Big East. I know it’s early, but I have actually seen them play this year, and they play great together. And I’ll tell you this, I guarantee they’ll beat Villanova at least once this year, book it. Here’s my analysis of Boston College: they stink. Take the Friars.

From here on out, I’ll do my best to make sure a performance like last week’s won’t happen again, but I’m not making any promises. Luca Scata has been identified as the Italian police trainee who confronted the Berlin Christmas market terrorist, Anis Amri, on the streets of Milan and shot him dead. It was only sheer by sheer luck that Scata and his colleague, Christian Movio, came across Amri outside the Sesto San Giovanni station while on patrol. The two officers stopped Amri, who fit the description of the wanted terrorist and asked him for his ID. At that moment, Amri reached into his bag, pulled out a .22 pistol, yelled “Allahu Akhbar,” shot Officer Movio, and took off through the streets. Scata gave chase to Amri and shot him dead in the streets.

Movio, who was mentoring Scata that afternoon, was shot in the shoulder but is in stable condition and will recover shortly.

For his part, Scata is probably the most popular police trainee in the history of the Milan police force. We’re sure that before Scata deleted his Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts, his DMs were probably full of congratulatory photos and kisses from women across Europe.

Hannibal Buress might just be transitioning from comedy to making funny music. He hasn’t been signed to a record label yet, but he definitely should. On Wednesday night, the world got introduced to Hannibal Buress as a recording artist on Chance The Rapper and Jeremih’s Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama mixtape. Hannibal has officially went hip hop.

According to a new interview from Fader, this collaboration between Buress and Chance was the result of being at the right place at the right time. This was truly a chance encounter between the two (don’t mind my corny pun, I’m no Hannibal Buress). Chance was in New York City for an episode of Saturday Night Live, and Hannibal was stuck in that city because he didn’t want to return home to Chicago, where it was incredibly cold. But when Chance heard that Buress was in town, he called him and requested that he lay down some tracks for his Christmas mixtape.

I’m like, “Does that mean rap?” Because, I mean. He’s like, “Whatever, come through.” So he’s working on this Christmas project with Jeremih and he asked me to talk about Christmas at the end of this track. He loops it up and I just go in and talk for a few minutes. On my podcast lately I’ve been really obsessing with Auto-Tune. A title too late, but I’m really getting into it. So I jokingly just tell them to Auto-Tune my shit and put Travis Scott vocals on my shit. And they cut it up and that’s that.”

Hannibal laid down some serious heat on this track. Of course, this song is definitely not the best or worst thing to come out of 2016. But it’s pretty damn entertaining and funny, mostly with the inclusion of Buress. He provides the outro to the song, which includes some autotune by the stand-up comedy star. But this wasn’t the first time that Hannibal used autotune. He experimented with “scat autotune” on The Eric Andre Show:

Hannibal also recorded another verse for Chance The Rapper’s mixtape, but it didn’t make the cut. It’s definitely a letdown to know that Hannibal’s verse was cut out, but Buress says we’ll hear it at some point. The comedian said, “I might just have to take the beat and put out my own remix of it and ride the wave.”

Chance and Buress have been friends since at least 2013, when Hannibal appeared in this Chicago star’s music video “NaNa.” Since then, Chance has ascended to the top of the hip hop game. You can check out the music video for “NaNa” right here:
