Keri Hilson is a 33-year-old songwriter, singer, and actress from Decatur, Georgia. While attending Oxford College of Emory University and Emory University, Keri wrote songs for other artists and did background vocals. She was a part of the songwriting and production team The Clutch, and they were responsible for hits such as Omarion’s “Ice Box” (2006), Ciara’s “Like a Boy” (2006), and Britney Spears’ “Gimme More” (2007).
Keri’s first big success as a singer came in 2007, when she was featured on Timbaland’s “The Way I Are.” In the U.S., the song reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and sold over three million units. It reached number one in several countries such as Australia, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, and it’s still a banger to this day.
In 2009, Keri released her debut studio album In a Perfect World….The album debuted at number four on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, and it would later be certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling over 500,000 copies. “Knock You Down” featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo was easily my favorite song from the album.
Keri would follow up her debut album with No Boys Allowed in 2010, which would peak at 11 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. Her fans are still waiting for her third album, as L.I.A.R. is currently without a release date. While Keri hasn’t released much music over the last few years, she has gotten into acting. In 2012, she made her on-screen debut as Heather in the romantic comedy Think Like a Man. She would also appear in the 2013 science fiction thriller Riddick.
Keri’s latest acting gig is as Jasmine in Almost Christmas. The holiday comedy-drama was released on Friday, November 11, 2016. If that film isn’t up your alley, you can always check out Keri’s hottest photos in the gallery below.
