Two of the most iconic franchises in the NFL face off in what may be the best game of the weekend, with the 4-1 Dallas Cowboys taking on the 3-1 Green Bay Packers. The Dallas Cowboys have been one of the biggest surprises of the season, being led by two rookies — quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliot. The Cowboys will be facing maybe their toughest test of the season, as they may be without star wide receiver Dez Bryant, and are on the road at one of the NFL’s most difficult venues.

As for the Green Bay Packers, despite their 3-1 start, there have been a couple of question marks surrounding the team.  The Packers beat the Detroit Lions 34-27 in Week 3, had a bye-week during week 4, and defeated the Giants on Sunday Night Football last week. so they will be well-rested going into this game. Rodgers has passed for 876 yards, 9 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on the year. Jordy Nelson is back and better than ever with 21 catches for 244 yards and 5 touchdowns. The defense may be giving up plenty of yards but it hasn’t resulted in many issues for Green Bay so far this season.

The Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles, two of the fiercest rivals in the NFL, face off for the first time this weekend. The Eagles are coming off their first loss of the season, losing 24-23 to the Detroit Lions, while the Redskins won their third consecutive game, defeating the Baltimore Ravens, 16-10.

The Eagles are led by the number 2 overall pick in the draft, rookie sensation Carson Wentz. Through his first 4 NFL games, Wentz has thrown for 1,007 yards, 7 touchdowns, and only 1 interception. Wentz’s play have been one of the reasons the Philadelphia Eagles have been one of the biggest surprises of the NFL season.

As for the Redskins, they won their third straight game with a 16-10 win over the Cleveland Browns last week. Cousins has thrown for 1,432 yards, 7 stouchdowns and 5 interceptions for the 2016 season so far while looking the way of tight end Jordan Reed early and often. Reed has 33 catches for 316 yards and two touchdowns. Will the defense come up with their fourth straight great week to get Washington two games over the .500 mark?

Saturday Night Live opened last night with a satirical version of the most recent presidential debate and it was about a million times more enjoyable than the the real thing. I think we should all skip watching the third and final debate and instead just watch the SNL version.

Kate McKinnon reprised her role as Hillary Clinton and once again killed it. She’s really emerged as the linchpin of the SNL cast with her wide array of impressions and I expect her star to continue to rise in the coming years.

Alec Baldwin once again played the unhinged Republican candidate, and though it’s difficult to parody a man who is himself a parody, Baldwin has been a upgrade over Darrell Hammond in the role of Donald Trump. The part where he’s lurking behind Hillary is pure gold.

In the part everyone was looking forward to since he became a worldwide sensation less than a week ago, Bobby Moynihan hilariously portrayed the one and only Ken Bone.

All around, another great sketch for SNL that is a ray of sunshine in what is an otherwise horrifying campaign season.

The 2-2 Kansas City Chiefs face off against the first place 4-1 Oakland Raiders in an epic AFC West rivalry showdown.

The Raiders are lead by breakout third-year quaterback Derek Carr, who so far this season has thrown for 1,383 yards, 11 touchdowns, and only 2 interceptions. Carr has the benefit of throwing to maybe the most dynamic tandem of wide receivers in the league: Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree. Cooper, who looks like a superstar in the making, has caught 26 passes for 456 yards and a touchdown. On the opposite side of the field, Michael Crabtree has racked up 29 catches for 355 yards and five touchdowns.

As for the Kansas City Chiefs, they look like their usual 9 to 11 win selves. With victories over the New York Jets and San Diego Chargers, and losses to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans, the Chiefs look to pick up a win to go above .500 for the first time this season.

The third episode of HBO’s epic new drama Westworld drops tonight on HBO, HBO Now, HBO Go, and HBO On Demand. Developed by Jonathan Nolan (Christopher Nolan’s brother) and Lisa Joy, Westworld is based on the 1973 film of the same name, which was written and directed by Michael Crichton. John Nolan serves as executive producer along with Joy, J. J. Abrams and Bryan Burk with Nolan directing the pilot. HBO is hoping Westworld will be their next massive hit after Game Of Thrones ends. Initial reviews for the series are incredibly positive, with Rotten Tomatoes saying “With an impressive level of quality that honors its source material, the brilliantly addictive Westworld balances intelligent, enthralling drama against outright insanity.”

Described as “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin,” the series tells the story of a futuristic theme park called Westworld. The Westworld synopsis reads:

Westworld isn’t your typical amusement park. Intended for rich vacationers, the futuristic park — which is looked after by robotic “hosts” — allows its visitors to live out their fantasies through artificial consciousness. No matter how illicit the fantasy may be, there are no consequences for the park’s guests, allowing for any wish to be indulged. “Westworld” — which is based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie of the same name — features an all-star cast that includes Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins and Golden Globe winner Ed Harris.

Cam Newton was visibly fuming during the press conference after his Carolina Panthers fell to 1-5, and made an abrupt exit reminiscent of what he did at Super Bowl 50.

It’s been a nightmare season for Carolina, and you can’t blame Cam for being frustrated. But at the end of the day, Newton is only going to hurt his own reputation with the football media by pulling this stunt again.

Personally, I’m more offended that Cam is still wearing ridiculous outfits despite his team coming up short week after week.

After starting off the season with two straight wins, the New York Giants are in the midst of a three game losing streak, and are currently in last place of the NFC East. This Sunday is a huge game for them as they try to stay afloat in a still very winnable division, but it won’t be an easy matchup as the Baltimore Ravens come to town.

Coming off of a 6-10 season last year, the Giants spent big money in the offseason to improve their defense that finished last in the league a year ago. As the defense has shown signs of improvements, it’s the offense that has declined, and has been a major reason for the team’s three game losing streak. After throwing for three touchdowns in a Week 1 victory over Dallas, quarterback Eli Manning has only thrown two touchdowns and three interceptions in the team’s last three games, all of which resulted in a loss. Although a lot of the blame as been points towards received Odell Beckham Jr for his sideline antics, and rightfully so, Manning has to elevate his play in order to turn the season around for New York.

Similar to the Giants, the Ravens started off the season hot with three straight wins, but have since cooled down and dropped their last two. Getting back to their usual ways and playing great defense through their first five games, the offense has yet to find their groove this season, which resulted in their offensive coordinator getting fired after a loss last week to Washington.

Although it is still somewhat early, both the Giants and Ravens are desperately looking for a win, and this game could either make or break either of their seasons. A recent video shows Larnie Thomas, a black man, being arrested by a white officer for allegedly walking in a suburban road because the sidewalk was under construction.

Thomas was walking down Xerxes Avenue in Edina, Minnesota, which is in a residential area with homes on either side of the street and has a speed limit of 30 miles per hour. The footage, which was shot by Janet Rowles, starts with Officer Tim Olson’s gripping the back of Thomas’s jacket as he shouts he’s done nothing wrong.

In the video, Thomas appeared to have already passed the construction and was behind the white line that divides pedestrians and traffic. Olson, who is not in uniform, tells Thomas to ‘come over here’ as he grabs his jacket to prevent him from running away, moving him momentarily back into the road before reaching the front of the unmarked squad car.

Olson tells Thomas that he was ‘walking down the middle of the street’ to which Thomas replies that he was ‘on the white line’ and that Olson ‘can’t put his hands on him’ like that. Olson says he’s not going to take him to jail, to which Thomas replies that if he’s not taking him to jail, he should take his hand off of him.

Thomas was cited for disorderly conduct and failure to obey a traffic signal. He was given a Breathalyzer test, which detected alcohol in his system. Thomas was detained for 45 minutes before being released.

The Minnesota NAACP called for the police to apologize and for Olsen to be suspended without pay in the following statement:

“Watching that video and seeing a black man being manhandled and emasculated by Edina Police was not only painful and humiliating, it was a vivid reminder that blacks are still too-often seen as second class citizens in the State of Minnesota and in this nation.”

I like to start my week with a little recurring series called “This Week In Florida News.” The reasoning is simple: as we all know, it can be a little hard to shake off the weekend cobwebs on Monday morning, so to get myself rolling with a little early momentum, I turn to Florida — a pure goldmine of internet content.

For example, last week in Florida news, police handcuffed and apprehended a live alligator. It’s easily digestible, easy to write content. We all win. So that’s why this week, I’m happy to kick off the week with this story about a dude crashing his SUV into a store and stealing an ATM.

Maybe the funniest part of this story is how little details there are. What you’re about to read is the FULL article from the Florida Sun Sentinel:

The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office is looking for the driver of a black SUV that smashed through a Family Dollar in West Palm Beach and grabbed an ATM early Saturday.

The incident happened at 5:26 a.m. at the store, 4935 Southern Blvd. Deputies searched for the suspects and the vehicle in the immediate area, but found nothing.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Palm Beach Crime Stoppers at 800-458-8477

Yupp! That’s it. Mind you, the original article was published on October 15 at 6:27 P.M. This happened over 48 hours ago and no one down there has any remote clue what the f*ck happened. The police got nothing, the reporters got nothing. All they know is that there was a CAR SMASHED THROUGH A BUILDING, and now the ATM is gone.

A series of videos purported to be murder confession videotapes uploaded by YouTube user ‘SeventyBroad,’ have started to go viral. As of yet, SeventyBroad has uploaded a total of five YouTube videos–all of which appear connected to a murder (or multiple murders). Obviously after last week’s “Hi Walter” viral video, it would be completely reasonable to assume that this is a young lad who was trying to become infamous for making a similar (fake) crime confession.

Last week, a video called “Hi Walter, It’s Me Patrick” in which a man confessed to kidnapping a woman, had been connected by online sleuths to the disappearance of Kayla Berg, a young girl who had been kidnapped in Antigo, WI. After the video went viral, police eventually were able to determine that the video was a hoax and completely unrelated to the case of Kayla.

The only hitch in that copycat theory is that these videos were uploaded two weeks ago, before “Hi Walter” gained international infamy.

So what are these videos? Honestly, I believe/hope they are a hoax, an idea started by some bored kid in Great Britain somewhere. The only part that makes these videos believable is that he seems to be filming in an abandoned building. So maybe he’s actually homeless or a drug user.

The first video, titled, “my confession im so f*cking sorry” is filmed in the dark, seemingly with a Nikon camera. Maybe he’s a runaway?

Next up is the video “why wouldnt it burn why,” in which the young man tries to cover his abandoned room and himself in gasoline. He then tries to get a lighter to light, in an attempt to burn himself alive, but it doesn’t work (spoiler alert).

The third video we have is titled “who i killed” and is the main video that’s going viral at the moment. It’s a confession of sorts, although he doesn’t go into any more details other than the fact that he blames the drugs for what he’s done. This gives us our best look at the “SeventyBroad” and it’s from this video where I began to think the whole thing is staged. His acting is poor, his laugh seems too forced, and his distress seems artificial.

Ohhhhhh, Chicago. I was pulling for you, I really was. With my Mets long out of the postseason, I figured I might as well witness history, ya know? As a noted Jets and Mets fan, I can only imagine the pain Cubs fans have lived through, so I’m a decent enough guy to root for the end of one fanbase’s suffering. And they’re close. They’re so damn close. If the Cubs won game two, the series was as good as over. Had the Cubs been able to put down Kershaw, they wouldn’t have had to face him again until Game 5, if there even was one. Now? Now they’re on their was back to Los Angeles with the momentum clearly in the Dodgers favor.

With Games 3, 4, and 5 all being played in LA, you have to imagine the two teams will split games 3 & 4, evening the series at two a piece. Then in Game 5, the final NLCS game in LA, the Dodgers will be sending a red-hot Kershaw to the hill. Even if Arrieta pitches Game 5, you have to give the advantage to Kershaw. The Dodgers have won four playoff games so far this season and Kershaw has touched the ball in every single one of them. That, my friends, is called a pattern.

So let’s say, worst case scenario if you’re a Cubs fan (other than getting swept in LA): you come home down 3-2 with all the pressure in the world to win Game 6. Even if you survive a BRUTAL Game 6, Game 7 comes with just as much, if not more, pressure. Not only is it a winner-take-all game, but you know, YOU KNOW, the many Cubs-curses will start to creep into the fan’s minds. I would not want to be in that stadium for Game 7. While a win would be one of the most electric in their franchise’s history, a loss would be maybe THE most crippling loss in their already tormented history.

If I’m a Cubs fan, I’m already sweating. You’re essentially going into best of five series — three of which are games that will be played on the road, and one of which will be started by Clayton Kershaw. Not exactly the most ideal scenario if you ask me.

So, Chicago, hunker down because, by the looks of it, this series is going the distance. And if I were you (which as a Mets and Jets fan — I have been) I’d be really, really f*cking nervous.

After teasing fans across the globe with a cryptic image yesterday, Rockstar Games has all but confirmed that a new Red Dead Redemption  game is on the way. The game developer company tweeted another picture Monday morning which is as Red-Deady as Red Dead gets.

There is no doubting that Rockstar Games knows what the f*ck they’re doing. Having launched game such as Grand Theft Auto, Max Payne, Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar Game is maybe the most successful video game publisher of the last two decades. With Black Friday & Christmas right around the corner, now would be the perfect time for Rockstar to start amping up their marketing machine.

The last time Rockstar announced a new game, Grand Theft Auto V in 2011, they did so in a very similar fashion: dropping a couple of vague hints before releasing a trailer a couple of weeks afterwards.

A Red Dead Redemption sequel has been expected for a while now, especially since the apparent leak of the game’s map. The leak suggested the game would be a prequel and would be set to the east of the last game:

At this point, it’s only a matter of time before Rockstar hits us with a full-blown announcement. With two consecutive tweets, exactly 24 hours apart, I think it’s quite clear that the marketing campaign for the long-awaited addition to the Red Dead franchise is underway.

Real question: is there another school that absolutely obliterates “Unofficial Halloween” like Southern Illinois University? Beam me up, Obama! I bet you didn’t know that President Barack Obama is a huge Trekkie. He absolutely loves science fiction films and TV shows. He may be a nerd, but he’s still the most powerful politician in the world (for now). Let’s take a look and see the type of sci-fi this two-term president has cherished for so many years.

For the November issue of WIRED magazine, Obama appeared as the special guest editor, where he revealed a rundown of his favorite entries in sci-fi from the big screen to the glowing screen in your living room.

One particular show that resonates with the president is the show Star Trek. Obama tells WIRED:

I’m a guy who grew up watching Star Trek—and I’d be lying if I said that show didn’t have at least some small influence on my worldview. What I loved about it was its optimism, the fundamental belief at its core that the people on this planet, for all our varied backgrounds and outward differ­ences, could come together to build a better tomorrow.”

Obama also shows great love for the movie The Matrix and The Martian (his favorite film of 2015) as well as the television show Cosmos: A Personal Journey, a TV show that premiered when Obama was in his late teens. He thoroughly enjoyed Stanley Kubrick‘s 2001: A Space Odyssey because this film set in outer space “captures the grandeur and scale of the unknown.”  He also treasured another piece by director Stanley Kubrick:,Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which he enjoyed “because it is fundamentally optimistic.” And he was astonished by Star Wars because “it was fun and revolutionized special effects.”

Obama enjoys both the light and dark side of science fiction from Captain Kirk to killer robots. He embraced the graphic, disturbing world of Blade Runner because it’s a movie that “asks what it means to be human.” Indeed, this is a question a president must always consider, especially one whose job pretty much requires going to war in some capacity. He has worked heavily in commanding killer robots as a part of his very own drone program during both terms in office, fighting in the Global War on Terror. Talk about science fiction meeting reality! Getting back to Blade Runner, just imagine for a moment…a time where these attack drones gain consciousness. Scary stuff!

The so-called “Bad Boy of Tennis” strikes again and this time, he will pay for his actions.

Hold up. Tennis has a bad boy?

Tennis has a villain and his name is Nick Kyrgios. The 21-year-old Australian has been suspended for eight weeks and fined an additional $25,000 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) for tanking during a match last week at the Shanghai Rolex Masters. Kyrgios was already fined $16,500 for unsportsmanlike conduct, failing to give a full effort and verbal abuse of the spectator during the same match. However, the ATP said if Kyrgios seeks professional, psychological help, he could be eligible to return on November 7, 2016.

Kyrgios gave a statement on his website about the suspension.

Who Is Nick Kyrgios?

For those who do not know tennis, Kyrgios is actually a pretty good player. He’s ranked 14th in the world and has three ATP titles to his name, which is solid considering he’s only 21. That being said, Kyrgios is nuts, plain and simple. He’s a hothead who continues to find himself in the media for the wrong reasons.

Exhibit A: Last year, in a match with three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka, during a court change, Kyrgios walked right up to the net and told Wawrinka “Kokkinakis (a professional tennis player) banged your girlfriend. Sorry to tell you that mate.” Lucky for us, cameras caught the exchange.

I don’t care who you are. That’s a low blow by all accounts. You don’t tell someone that their girlfriend is cheating on them WHEN THERE ARE CAMERAS AROUND! It’s even a slippery slope to tell someone that information in private. It’s not like Kyrgios and Wawrinka were best buds. Kyrgios was mad that Wawrinka was winning and took a cheap shot at him to knock him off his game.

What happened?

Let’s look at what happened at the Shanghai Masters. First of all, Kyrgios lost the second-round match to Mischa Zverev 6-3, 6-1. That’s not the news. It’s what Kyrgios did during the match that caused his suspension and fine. Kyrgios did not try whatsoever. He patted serves across the net and walked off the court early. When the fans started to boo and the umpire told him to start trying, Kyrgios told them “You want to come here and play?”

On SportsCenter, Scott Van Pelt summed it up best.

Hey Nick, act like a professional for once. Have I ever been tired from traveling and playing tennis throughout Asia? Of course not. However, last time I checked, that is your job and not mine. You are getting paid to travel and play tennis across the world. You are getting paid to put on a show for the fans. I don’t care if you’re tired. Suck it up, dude. I don’t feel bad for you whatsoever. What you did during that match was a disgrace. Go seek professional help because it’s clear that you need it.

I’m totally fine with creating a character for yourself. Tennis needs its good guys and its bad guys. It makes for better television. You want to be the new “Bad Boy” of professional tennis? You want to be a legend and a rockstar like John McEnroe or Jimmy Connors? How about you back up your tough-guy attitude and just win some tournaments? Start acting like a professional tennis player and not like a teenage boy.

You try to talk the talk, but it’s time to walk the walk, Nick Kyrgios.

Week 8 of the 2016 Premier League season wraps up with a heavyweight matchup between Jurgen Klopps’ Liverpool against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United. The 2016–17 Premier League is the 25th season of the Premier League, the top English professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1992. The season began August 13, 2016, and will last until May 21,  2017. Leicester City are the defending champions, with Burnley, Middlesbrough, and Hull City being promoted from the Football League Championship. Rounding out the top four from last season are Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester City.

Tonight, The Red Devils will be taking on a Liverpool side that has won its last four Premier League games under first-year manager Jurgen Klopp. After going undefeated through the first four games of the season, Manchester United have not won a Premier League match since. Liverpool, with 16 points, is currently tied for fourth place with Chelsea, while Manchester United has slid all the way down to seventh with 13 points. A win today would go a long way for both teams, but especially for Liverpool. A win on Monday night would see Klopp’s squad  join Manchester City and Arsenal at the top of the EPL table.

In their last Premier League game on October 2, Manchester United tied Stoke City, 1-1. As for Liverpool, they defeated Swansea City in their last EPL action, winning by a score of 2-1.

With a chance to tie for first place, tonight’s game is set to be an electric match thanks to what should be a hyped up Anfield atmosphere. The matchup between Man U and Liverpool is shaping up to be the best games of the season, so make sure you find out how to live stream the action below!
