Westworld is tonight’s science fiction thriller television series premiering on HBO. Developed by Jonathan Nolan (Christopher Nolan’s brother) and Lisa Joy, Westworld is based on the 1973 film of the same name, which was written and directed by Michael Crichton. John Nolan serves as executive producer along with Joy, J. J. Abrams and Bryan Burk with Nolan directing the pilot. HBO is hoping Westworld will be their next massive hit after Game Of Thrones ends. Initial reviews for the series are incredibly positive, with Rotten Tomatoes saying “With an impressive level of quality that honors its source material, the brilliantly addictive Westworld balances intelligent, enthralling drama against outright insanity.”

Described as “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin,” the series tells the story of a futuristic theme park called Westworld. The Westworld synopsis reads:

Westworld isn’t your typical amusement park. Intended for rich vacationers, the futuristic park — which is looked after by robotic “hosts” — allows its visitors to live out their fantasies through artificial consciousness. No matter how illicit the fantasy may be, there are no consequences for the park’s guests, allowing for any wish to be indulged. “Westworld” — which is based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie of the same name — features an all-star cast that includes Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins and Golden Globe winner Ed Harris.

The first episode of WestWorld has been highly anticipated since its announcement months ago. Maybe you’ve read some of the reviews. Maybe you’ve even visited DiscoverWestWorld, the website created by HBO to get people more acquainted.

Jerry Jones has deluded himself for decades into thinking he knows how to run a football team, so it makes sense that the Dallas Cowboys owner would also overestimate his catching ability.

The Minnesota Vikings weren’t expected to be very good after they lost Teddy Bridgewater to a serious knee injury in training camp and then lost Adrian Peterson to a torn meniscus. However, Minnesota is undefeated at 3-0 and going into a Monday night showdown at home against the New York Giants who are 2-1 themselves. This may prove to be a playoff preview with how well both teams have been playing in the early going. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Giants lost 29-27 to the Washington Redskins for their first loss of the season. Eli Manning has passed for 925 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions this season while finding Odell Beckham Jr. 19 times for 280 yards. The running back situation is fluid with Rashad Jennings having a thumb injury and Shane Vereen out for the season with an arm injury. It will be up to Orleans Darkwa to take pressure off of Manning in the run game. This should be a great chance for the defense to make their mark against Sam Bradford and a depleted Vikings offense.

The Vikings stayed undefeated with a 22-10 win over the Carolina Panthers. Bradford has thrown for 457 yards and three touchdowns for the season while Stefon Diggs have been the key receiver for Minnesota early this season with 20 catches for 325 yards and a touchdown. The run game is all up to Jerick McKinnon with his 53 yards on the ground on 19 carries. It was a great week for the defense against the Panthers last week and now get to be at home to face the Giants. It could turn into another very strong week with the noise inside the team’s new stadium.

First, let me just say I’m super pumped I found such an ugly picture of the dude because he deserves it. Why? Cause Rory McIlroy pulled what could quite possibly be the biggest b*tch move of the 21st century. Rory you whiny little f*ck, you’re a professional athlete making tens of millions of dollars, show a little testicular fortitude, eh? I’m not sure how much Ryder Cup tickets were, but it’s really shitty of you to get a guy booted for talking a little smack, especially considering how much that ticket probably cost him. Using your power as an athlete to get a fan removed from an event is as weak as it comes. You play golf for a living dude.

Also, this more or less proves Rory is packing zero heat. Someone with an adequately sized d*ck wouldn’t react like this. The big news for gamers is the upcoming re-release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which is probably the greatest first-person shooter game created in the past fifteen years. A brand-new version of the game, brought into the new generation of consoles, will be available November 4. The game is being launched alongside the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, a new entry into the futuristic COD world.

A number of fans have been very vocal about their displeasure that the franchise has taken recently (Black Ops 3, Advanced Warfare, Infinite Warfare) opting for futuristic technology which speeds up gameplay to ridiculous levels. In fact, there have even been forums and discussions about how one might buy Infinite Warfare, download the accompanying Modern Warfare, and then return Infinite Warfare for a refund while keeping the digital version of Modern Warfare. A good (but cheap) idea, sure, but today we learned that Activision will be putting the kibosh on that idea.

According to various sources, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered will require the disc or digital version for Infinite Warfare to be on the hard drive you’re playing.

Modern Warfare Remastered is a full game download (game disc must be inserted to play Modern Warfare Remastered.

It makes a ton of sense for multiple reasons for them to do this, but what are the chances that Modern Warfare is actually going to use the game engine from Infinite Warfare?. That would save a ton of time for the developers to just use one game’s engine and then patch some other art and designs to make it a brand new game.

Obviously, people are going to be upset at anything related to Call of Duty, but this is probably one of the weaker complaints we’ve heard thus far.

Thought you had a rough weekend? Still hungover from Sunday Funday? Well, just know that as bad as you may have it, our boy Todd Orr had it way, way worse.

Orr, a resident of Bozeman, Montana, survived a bear attack on Saturday. Todd Orr was mauled twice and then documented his experience on Facebook prior to receiving medical treatment.  A mother bear with a couple of cubs charged him from roughly 80-yards out. In his account, Orr stated that he used bear spray. Unfortunately, the spray wasn’t effective. He then stated that he tried to protect the back of his neck. His arms, neck, and shoulders took the brunt of the attack. The original Facebook video has been viewed over 12 million times.

Hello everyone.
Thought I should share yesterday morning’s Grizzly incident.

I took an early morning hike in the Madison valley to scout for elk. Knowing that bears are common throughout southwest Montana, I hollered out “hey bear” about every 30 seconds so as to not surprise any bears along the trail.

About three miles in, I stepped out into an open meadow and hollered again. A few more steps and I spotted a sow Grizzly bear with cubs on the trail at the upper end of the meadow. The sow saw me right away and they ran a short distance up the trail. But suddenly she turned and charged straight my way. I yelled a number of times so she knew I was human and would hopefully turn back. No such luck. Within a couple seconds, she was nearly on me. I gave her a full charge of bear spray at about 25 feet. Her momentum carried her right through the orange mist and on me.

I went to my face in the dirt and wrapped my arms around the back of my neck for protection. She was on top of me biting my arms, shoulders and backpack. The force of each bite was like a sledge hammer with teeth. She would stop for a few seconds and then bite again. Over and over. After a couple minutes, but what seemed an eternity, she disappeared.

Stunned, I carefully picked myself up. I was alive and able to walk so I headed back down the trail towards the truck 3 miles below. As I half hiked and jogged down the trail, I glanced at my injuries. I had numerous bleeding puncture wounds on my arms and shoulder but I knew I would survive and thanked god for getting me through this. I hoped the bleeding wasn’t too significant. I really didn’t want to stop to dress the wounds. I wanted to keep moving and put distance between us.

About five or ten minutes down the trail, I heard a sound and turned to find the Griz bearing down at 30 feet. She either followed me back down the trail or cut through the trees and randomly came out on the trail right behind me. Whatever the case, she was instantly on me again. I couldn’t believe this was happening a second time! Why me? I was so lucky the first attack, but now I questioned if I would survive the second.

Again I protected the back of my neck with my arms, and kept tight against the ground to protect my face and eyes. She slammed down on top of me and bit my shoulder and arms again. One bite on my forearm went through to the bone and I heard a crunch. My hand instantly went numb and wrist and fingers were limp and unusable. The sudden pain made me flinch and gasp for breath. The sound triggered a frenzy of bites to my shoulder and upper back. I knew I couldn’t move or make a sound again so I huddled motionless. Another couple bites to my head and a gash opened above my ear, nearly scalping me. The blood gushed over my face and into my eyes. I didn’t move. I thought this was the end. She would eventually hit an artery in my neck and I would bleed out in the trail… But I knew that moving would trigger more bites so a laid motionless hoping it would end.

She suddenly stopped and just stood on top of me. I will never forgot that brief moment. Dead silence except for the sound of her heavy breathing and sniffing. I could feel and her breath on the back of my neck, just inches away. I could feel her front claws digging into my lower back below my backpack where she stood. I could smell the terrible pungent odor she emitted. For thirty seconds she stood there crushing me. My chest was smashed into the ground and forehead in the dirt. When would the next onslaught of biting began. I didn’t move.
And then she was gone.

I tried to peek out without moving but my eyes were full of blood and I couldn’t see. I thought that if she came back a third time I would be dead, so I had to do something. Staying in position on the ground, I slowly reached under my chest to grab at the pistol I was unable to get to earlier. I felt I needed something to save my life. The pistol wasn’t there. I groped around again but nothing. I wiped the blood from one eye and looked around.
No bear.

The pistol and holster were lying five feet to my left. The bear’s ferocious bites and pulling had ripped the straps from the pack and the holster attached to it. Now trashed, that backpack may have helped prevent many more serious bites on my back and spine.
I picked everything up and moved down the trail again. I couldn’t believe I had survived two attacks. Double lucky!
Blood was still dripping off my head and both elbows and my shirt was soaked to the waist and into my pants. But a quick assessment told me I could make it another 45 minutes to the truck without losing too much blood.
I continued the jog just wanting to put more distance between that sow and I.

At the trailhead was one other vehicle. I really hoped that person didn’t run into the same bear.
I snapped a couple quick photos and a video of my wounds, laid some jackets over the truck seat and headed for town. I stopped a rancher along the way and asked him to make a call to the hospital. When I got into cell service, I made a quick call to my girlfriend to ask how her morning was going, before freaking her out and asking her to bring me a change of clean clothes to the hospital.
Another call to 911 and I gave the operator a quick run down of my injuries and asked her to call the hospital and give them a heads up that I was ten minutes out.
Moments later I was met at the front door by the doctor, nurse and an officer. I had to ask the officer to open the door, put my truck in park, and unbuckle my seat belt. My left arm was useless. He was impressed I had taken the effort to buckle.
Once inside, the x-rays revealed only a chip out of the ulna bone in my forearm. Following was eight hours of stitching to put me back together. Most were arm and shoulder punctures and tears. A 5″ gash along the side of my head will leave a nasty scar, but I’m hoping my balding doesn’t come on too quickly and leave that one exposed. :)
And finally, this morning, numerous deep bruises and scrapes are showing up from the bites that didn’t quite break the skin. Dark bruising in the shape of claws, line across my lower back and butt where the bear stood on me. Also a few more chest bruises and facial abrasions from being smashed and slammed into the ground.

Not my best day, but I’m alive.
So thankful I’m here to share with all of you. :)
In a couple weeks I will have to clean out the truck a little better. My girlfriend says it looks like I had gutted an elk in the drivers seat.

During this weekend’s Eastern Carolina University college football game against the University of Central Florida, a number of ECU band members took a kneel during the National Anthem to protest what they believe is a disparity in the way that black people are treated by the police versus white people.

At least fifteen band members took a knee and in addition refused to play their instruments. They’re not the first band members to protest and they certainly won’t be the last.

Needless to say, a lot of fans in attendance didn’t take too kindly to the gesture, so when the band came back on the field for the halftime show, they were met with a TON of boos. Like, if you were in the stadium you probably didn’t even hear what song the ECU band was playing.

These Pirates movies are a serious guilty pleasure of mine. You know how people love those god awful Fast & Furious movies? This is my Fast 8. Pirates are just sweeeeeeeeet – there’s really no other way to slice it. They drink. They travel. They f*ck. They steal. They have great tans.

The newest Pirates, titled Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, is going to be good. To quote our boy Wyatt, you heard it hear first. The fourth one was steaming pile of cow turd, so I know Disney is gonna bring the heat with the latest entry into the franchise. Casting Academy Award winner/varsity pretend perv Javier Bardem in the lead role is a hell of a move. And the fact that Depp isn’t in the trailer at all is a win because the hype is real. I’m sold.

Johnny Depp returns as the infamous Captain(!) Jack Sparrow and Orlando Bloom also reprises his role as Will Turner. Javier Bardem is playing some kinda trippy death zombie Captain Salazar, and Geoffrey Rush (THE BOY) returns as Captain Barbossa.

For months, Donald Trump supporters and Wikileaks enthusiasts have been talking about an “October Surprise” that would blow the socks off of the world and Hillary Clinton’s voters. More recently, Julian Assange had arranged to make an important announcement from the balcony of his room at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London this Tuesday, leading many to believe that the “October Surprise” would then be announced.

But the best-laid plans never seem to work out, and now Assange has cancelled his announcement because of “security concerns” amidst a speaking engagement in Berlin (he’s going to be telecommuting, not traveling–he’s still trapped). Assange now plans on making his announcement next Tuesday.

That being said, we might not need to wait for the big announcement because rumors (via the Wikileaks twitter account) have already started to fly about what it is he wanted to say. Many believed Assange and Wikileaks would leak more information about the Democratic National Committee, but now it appears that he’s going to rain on Hillary Clinton’s parade directly.

Specifically, he’s saying that Hillary Clinton once asked about the possibility of killing Julian Assange via drone strike.

If that’s the October Surprise, then I’d say it’s kind of a let-down. Clinton is probably one of many world leaders who wishes they could just make their Julian Assange problem disappear. We’re not saying we agree with her stance (we definitely don’t) we’re just saying that it’s probably in the interest of national security to kill him.

Move over #Brangelina, Steven Avery of Making A Murderer infamy has publicly announced that he’s ending his relationship with his “big house” beau Lynn Hartman.

Two weeks ago, Steven shocked the world when he announced that he’d dumped his fiancee of ten years, Sandra Greenman, for Lynn Hartmann and that they were deeply in love. “She’s my future wife and we’ll be laughing forever.” Putting aside the extremely creepy quote from Steve about “laughing forever,” we were over the moon that Steven (who’s serving a life sentence for the murder/rape of Theresa Halbach) had dumped his dumpy fiancee Sandra and upgraded to the more attractive Lynn #LoveConquersAll.

But today, Steven announced that the two have split because he believes Lynn is a gold digger, looking for payouts from book deals and TV interviews with guys like Dr. Phil.

**Completely different side note BTW that is in no way related to the timing of this announcement. Dr. Phil is airing the first part of a two-part interview with Lynn Hartman today at 3 PM EST. The second part airs tomorrow. But again, apologies for the interruption of this story. There is no way that the timing of this very public breakup relates at all the premiere of an interview that is airing the same day as the announcement. None. 

Second side note, that photo of Lynn in a wedding dress is more nightmarish than all the clown stories we’ve been reading so far.**

Steven’s ex, Sandra, made the announcement about Steven and Lynn via Facebook today. You know, because Steven’s in prison and can’t talk to anyone.

According to Sandra, Lynn has blocked Steven’s prison number and won’t talk to him at all. Lynn has also been paid upwards of $5K for the interview that she did with Dr. Phil, and thousands for doing other shows.

Obviously we’re extremely heartbroken for Steven, who probably hasn’t laid with a woman since Theresa Halbach and subsequently burned her to charcoal in a dirt pit, but Lynn’s the real loser here. What’s going to happen when Steven is exonerated? Where’s Lynn going to be when Brad Pitt plays Steven in the movie?

Close your eyes and picture this: you’re chilling in class, just about to nod out for a nap. You’ve got the ill playlist going, and even though you’re hungover as all hell, you’re feeling pretty good. You’re right on the cusp of sleep when you feel this sensation in your pocket. You’re not sure what it is, but you sure don’t like it. The sensation grows into pain and that’s when you realize, “Wait that’s my phone.” You pull out your phone to find it on FIRE and now your $600 iPhone just ruined your best pair of sweats and you need to go to the Verizon store to cop a new phone. Brutal, right? Cause that’s what actually happened to this (New Jersey! Shout out) college kid, Darin Hlavaty.

“I felt this crazy, hot burning in my leg,” said Hlavaty. Hlavaty had just been reaching for a pen in his 9:30 A.M. physical science class.

“Right as class was starting, my phone started smoking in my pocket. It was a fire,” said Hlavaty.

“Out of nowhere, we heard a fizzing and a popping sound. Suddenly a great mass of smoke comes out from his pocket,” said Rebecca Bookbinder, a student sitting nearby.

“It was super hot so I flinched, grabbed it, threw it on the ground. Had to kick it because it was on fire,” said Hlavaty.

First, real quick, can we talk about that last name Bookbinder? Chick sounds like she’s destined to be a librarian.

Now, more importantly, when did exploding phones become a thing? It feels like it never happened before, and now all of a sudden in 2016 people’s phones are turning on them. I blame Hillary.

The UFC has a slate of matches for the month of October. The first card starting out with John Lineker and John Dodson facing off. This match will be the main event of UFC Fight Night and will take place on Saturday, October 1. UFC 204 will be a showcase of a lot of talent on October 8th. Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson will be the main event, where they will battle for the second time. On October 15, UFC Fight Night will headline veteran B.J. Penn going up against Ricardo Lamas.

With the amount of fights plus the number of high profiled fighters, this October schedule is set out to be an exciting one. After the UFC was sold for $4 billion, President Dana White has had to meet high expectations. He’s been able to do just that, by picking great matches and giving the fans what they want.  It’s time to look over the calendar for the must-see contests set to hit the Octagon in the month of October.

The fight would take place in the featherweight division. Will Penn, the former champion, be able to turn back the clock and pick up a long over-due victory or will Lamas put another loss on Penn’s resume and crush his dreams of returning to UFC?

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair hosts a podcast called The Ric Flair Show. It’s not the most creative title I’ve ever heard, but the Nature Boy clearly doesn’t give a damn about being coy. On the most recent edition of the podcast, a fan wanted to know if any famous women ever took a ride on Space Mountain. The 16-time world champion dropped a bombshell on his co-host Conrad Thompson, claiming that he had sex with the gorgeous Halle Berry.

WOOOO!!! Way to go, Ric! Berry was married to David Justice from 1993-1997, so we are talking about Flair sleeping with an all-time stunner firmly in her prime. And most importantly, it sounds like Flair got there before Halle got an Oscar for letting Billy Bob Thornton’s goofy ass drill her in Monster’s Ball in 2001.

In celebration of Flair’s amazing conquest, I’ll be watching this on a loop for the rest of the day.

Although most of America knows Mark Wahlberg the actor, they forget that he is a man of many talents. To name a few, Wahlberg was a rapper, dancer, and model in the early ’90s. As his stock and celebrity began to rise, Wahlberg turned to acting, where he has been a staple for over 20 years. Wahlberg has been in blockbusters such as Ted and Transformers and has been in critical hits such as Boogie Nights and The Fighter, picking up a Golden Globe nomination for the latter. Because of his long and illustrious career, Wahlberg’s success has turned into dollar signs, but how much is Wahlberg actually worth?

1984 – 1994

Before he became one of Hollywood’s leading men, 13-year-old Wahlberg was actually an original member of the boy band New Kids on the Block, which also included Mark’s older brother, Donnie. Before the band started to record, Mark Wahlberg quit the band after three months in order to pursue other interests.

In 1990, Mark traded in boy band harmonies for rap anthems and started Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch. The single “Good Vibrations,” became a number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and the single went Gold. On stage, Marky Mark was known for his flashy dancing and ripped physique, which led to a series of underwear ads with Calvin Klein in 1992.

In 2013, when asked if he would ever reunite with the Funky Bunch, Wahlberg told Heat Magazine that “I’ve just got to find the right time. We might, though…”

1995 – 2000

In the mid-’90s, Wahlberg ditched the Marky Mark persona in favor of an acting career. Although Wahlberg began acting in 1993, it was not until 1995 when he got his big break, starring alongside Leonardo Dicaprio in The Basketball Diaries. This is when Wahlberg caught critics attention and showed that he could have a career in acting.

Wahlberg followed The Basketball Diaries with the 1996 thriller, Fear, playing the deranged and psychotic boyfriend of Nicole Walker, played by Reese Witherspoon. Wahlberg played the role of porn star Dirk Diggler in 1997’s Boogie Nights, which was nominated for three Academy awards. Other movies that Wahlberg starred in were The Big Hit (1998), Three Kings (1999), and The Perfect Storm (2000), with the latter grossing over $320 million at the box office.

2001 – 2009

Wahlberg was starting to become a star and landed a number of leading roles in the early 2000s. A few of the movies Wahlberg starred in were Planet of the Apes (2001), The Italian Job (2003), Four Brothers (2005), and Invincible (2006). Up until this point, Wahlberg never received any major acting nominations, but that all changed with his role as the hotheaded Sgt. Sean Dignam in Martin Scorsese’s The Departed. The film won the title of Best Picture at the 79th Academy Awards, but Wahlberg picked up a supporting acting nomination at the ceremony, his first to date.

Wahlberg continued to gain starring roles in Shooter (2007), We Own The Night (2007), and The Lovely Bones (2009).

Mark’s work soared not only on the screen but off it as well. Wahlberg served as an executive producer on the HBO hit show Entourage, which spanned eight seasons from 2004-2011. The series was loosely based on Wahlberg’s start in the business and his journey as an up-and-coming star. The series spawned a movie in 2015, Entourage.

2010 – 2015

If you still were unsure if Mark Wahlberg was a good and successful actor, 2010’s The Fighter put all of the so-called “haters” to rest. Wahlberg played Micky Ward, a down-and-out boxer who persevered and eventually won the welterweight title. Wahlberg’s performance was critically acclaimed, receiving a Best Acting nomination at the Golden Globes as well as a Best Picture nomination at The Academy Awards.

Throughout his career, Wahlberg has been known for his action roles, but it wasn’t until 2010’s The Other Guys where he showed off his comedic chops alongside Will Ferrell. The movie grossed over $170 million at the box office. Wahlberg starred in Seth MacFarlane’s Ted (2010), which huge success spawned a sequel, Ted 2 (2015).

Other movies that Wahlberg starred in were Lone Survivor (2013), Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014), and Daddy’s Home (2015). All of the movies grossed over $150 million with Transformers being the highest at over $1 billion.

2016 – present

Wahlberg has not shown any sides of slowing down in 2016. On September 30, 2016, Wahlberg starred in the disaster film Deepwater Horizon, which is based on the 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Future films that have Wahlberg’s name tied to them are the Boston marathon bombing film, Patriots Day (2017), and Transformers: The Last Night (2017), a sequel to 2014’s Transformers.

Wahlberg currently has four shows in development at HBO and is an executive producer of the HBO comedy show Ballers, which stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Ballers was recently renewed for a third season on HBO.

Besides his impressive acting credits, Wahlberg is an avid entrepreneur. Wahlberg teamed up with P. Diddy to launch AQUAhydrate, an electrolyte-enhanced fitness water that focuses on rehydration and recovery. Along with his family, Mark is one of the owners of Wahlburgers, which according to CEO Rick Vanzura, has franchise deals to open 40 new stores across the country and looks to add more than 110 stores over the next seven years.

Hurricane Matthew, a strong Category 4 Hurricane, is already in Haiti and Jamaica, and may be touching down in the United States. Hurricane Matthew Damage In Jamaica And Haiti

Hurricane Matthew is the first major hurricane we’ve seen during the season, and its already caused a lot of damage and destruction. Some are calling it one of the most dangerous in the past decade, partly because of the slow speed in which its moving, and partly because of how prone Haiti is to flooding.

Tragically, there have already been at least four deaths, two in Haiti, caused by the hurricane. The two deaths in Haiti were of fishermen who were trapped on the seas. Many streets in Haiti and it looks as if similar damage might happen in the Caribbean. It looks as though there’ll be at least 40 inches of rain and experts are saying that there could be 1 trillion gallons of water that will fall on Haiti alone.
