Jacob Hall, the six-year-old Townville Elementary School shooting victim, has been pronounced dead by the Anderson County coroner, Greg Shore. The South Carolina first grader was shot by a 14-year-old on the playground Thursday and critically wounded, authorities said.

Hall was shot in the leg and the bullet pierced his femoral artery.

Hall died at 12:56 p.m., Saturday, Shore said. Until then he had been on life support at the Greenville Health System Children’s Hospital,. An autopsy is scheduled in Anderson on Sunday.

Another boy and a teacher were also injured by the bullets, and were released from the hospital later.  Authorities say the 14-year-old boy accused of the school shooting first shot his father to death before going to Townville Elementary, several miles away. The 14-year-old was charged as a juvenile Friday with murder and three counts of attempted murder.

In a public Facebook post, Hall’s brother Gerald Gambrell, said “God took his strongest soldier.

“Jacob will be with us forever and always in our hearts. I love you little brother and I can’t wait till the day we meet again. Your my hero buddy. I love you so much watch over your family son.”

It looked like Tennessee’s undefeated start to the season was going to come to a screeching halt on Saturday against Georgia, but Volunteers wide receiver Jajuan Jennings pulled down Josh Dobbs’ hail mary heave to stun the Bulldogs.

NFL fans are always up for a good story and two teams that weren’t expected to be so good playing early in the season. The Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Ravens match-up on Sunday afternoon with the two teams a combined 5-1 on the season. Baltimore is undefeated at 3-0 while Oakland is at 2-1 with both teams now eyeing a playoff berth for themselves at the end of the season. This game could go a long way for one team to see if that goal is met. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Raiders beat the Tennessee Titans 17-10 on the road last week and face their third road game in four weeks. Derek Carr has passed for 867 yards and five touchdowns while finding Amari Cooper 15 times for 270 yards to lead the team. Latavius Murray has 153 rushing yards and three touchdowns to pace the team on the ground but a running back by committee approach appears to be happening with Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington. This should be a good challenge for the Oakland defense to beat the Ravens on the road, knowing a 3-1 start could spell playoffs for the first time since 2002.

The Ravens improved to 3-0 with a 19-17 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars and have their next two games at home. Joe Flacco has thrown for 774 yards, three touchdowns, and four interceptions while hitting his tight end Dennis Pitta 18 times for 183 yards. Terrance West and Justin Forsett have teamed up for 217 rushing yards over the first three games and must be much better. The defense has been holding this Baltimore team up. Carr is one of the best young quarterbacks in the whole NFL and the Ravens will have their hands full dealing with him and slowing down the Oakland offense.

The NFC South appears to be up for grabs this season with the Atlanta Falcons leading the way at 2-1 so far and the Carolina Panthers being just a game back at 1-2. The two teams will play at the Georgia Dome on Sunday afternoon in what promises to be a shootout between two high-scoring teams. The Falcons have scored 104 points over their first three games while giving up 91 while the Panthers have scored 76 and given up 70 points. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Panthers lost 22-10 at home to the Minnesota Vikings last week and are happy to see Minnesota leave town. Cam Newton has passed for 809 yards, five touchdowns, and five interceptions so far this season. Greg Olsen has 18 catches for 259 yards and a touchdown as Newton’s most used target while an injury to Jonathan Stewart has given Fozzy Whittaker the leading rusher job and he has 135 yards on the ground so far this year. This is a game that will really test the Carolina defense. Matt Ryan and the Falcons are scoring points in bunches and it will be interesting to see if the Panthers can slow him down.

The Falcons outscored the New Orleans Saints during a 45-32 win and have scored at least 24 points in every game this season. Ryan has passed for 970 yards and seven touchdowns while looking the direction of Julio Jones and Jacob Tamme a lot. Each has 20 targets with Tamme leading the team with 14 catches. Devonta Freeman ran wild on Monday night and now has 265 rushing yards while Tevin Coleman has four touchdown runs on 32 carries. The defense has given up ten touchdown passes already this year and can’t afford to let Newton go crazy in this game if Atlanta wins to win.

The Buffalo Bills get another chance at the New England Patriots on Sunday afternoon with one notable difference. There will be no Tom Brady on the field as he finishes his suspension and Buffalo has had no success against New England with Brady playing so this may be the team’s one chance to get a win on the road before Brady returns. The Patriots have a quarterback issue of their own and don’t know who will be starting this Sunday battle. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Bills got their first win of the season last week with a 33-18 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Tyrod Taylor has been good with 527 passing yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions on the season while looking the direction of Robert Woods and LeSean McCoy a lot with each having 11 catches. McCoy is leading the team in rushing yards as well with 227 on the ground so far but this is a game where Taylor has to deal with a very good Patriots defense and he will need his legs even more than normal. The Buffalo defense was great last week and now has to play at the same level this week.

The Patriots shut out the Houston Texans 27-0 to improve to 3-0 last Thursday night. Jacoby Brissett started last week and played well but it could be Jimmy Garoppolo back under center for this game. Garoppolo has passed for 496 yards and four touchdowns on the season. Julian Edelman has 18 catches for 180 yards in the pass game and there will be a fully healthy Rob Gronkowski for the Patriots to use this week. LeGarrette Blount has rushed for 298 yards and four touchdowns and will be leaned on again in this one. Can the defense pitch another shutout this week? It is possible against Taylor.

When west coast teams play across the country for an early start, things normally don’t go their way. The Seattle Seahawks will make the long trip all the way to New York City for a 10am local time start against the New York Jets at Giants Stadium. Seattle may be without quarterback Russell Wilson who got hurt during last week’s win. That would be a major blow while the Jets are trying to bounce back from a huge loss of their own on the road last week. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Seahawks scored a 37-18 win over the San Francisco 49ers but did lose Wilson with a sprained knee. If Wilson can’t play, it will be up to Trevone Boykin to pick up the slack after going 7-for-9 last week for 65 yards and a touchdown. Wilson has 755 passing yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Doug Baldwin is still the favorite target with 20 catches for 276 yards and two touchdowns while Christine Michael has taken over the running back job full-time with his 232 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. This is a great matchup for the Seahawks defense, even on the road, to pitch a shutout.

The Jets were dominated during a 24-3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Ryan Fitzpatrick had an awful week against Kansas City and for the season has 751 passing yards, three touchdowns and seven interceptions which six of them coming against the Chiefs. Eric Decker has nine catches for 194 yards and two touchdowns to lead the receiving talent while Matt Forte has rushed for 261 yards and three touchdowns in his first season with the team. If Boykin starts, Darrelle Revis and company must make it a long day for him or the Jets are going to be wondering what could have been on defense.

The Cleveland Browns and Washington Redskins don’t get together much but two of the most storied franchises in the NFL have to be hoping that this week’s matchup will help them get back to the place where they were not long ago. The Browns are sitting winless at 0-3 while the Redskins finally won their first game of the season last week. This is a big test for both teams and one where both teams truly believe that they can win. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Browns lost 30-24 on the road against the Miami Dolphins and are could be starting another new quarterback this week. Cody Kessler started last week and has 244 passing yards for the season. Terrelle Pryor even got some time at quarterback and completed three of his five passes while also leading the team in receptions and yards with 14 catches for 244 yards. Isaiah Crowell has been a nice change of pace for Cleveland with 274 rushing yards and two touchdowns. The defense must be better though starting this week and can’t allow big chunks of yardage to be gained against them.

The Redskins got by the New York Giants 29-27 for their first win of the year. Kirk Cousins is throwing the ball around a ton with 989 yards through the air over three games but has just three touchdowns and three interceptions. DeSean Jackson leads the team with 14 catches for 238 yards but Cousins has targeted Jackson, Jordan Reed and Jamison Crowder each 24 times this year. Matt Jones is getting better in the ground game with 150 yards on the ground and a touchdown but needs to keep improving. The defense should have a field day with Kessler but have to watch out for Pryor’s triple-threat ability.

There are some games where fans just sit back and watch the points fill up the scoreboard. Sunday afternoon looks to be one of those times as the New Orleans Saints hit the road to face the San Diego Chargers in a game between two of the most high-scoring teams in the whole NFL. The Saints are still looking for the first win of the season while the Chargers are trying to get back to the .500 mark with a win. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Saints lost 45-32 to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night but have scored at least 30 points in two of their three games this season. Drew Brees has passed for 1,062 yards already this season with eight touchdowns and an interception. Willie Snead has 14 catches for 226 yards and two touchdowns and missed last week’s game while Brandin Cooks has 15 catches for 224 yards and two scores. Mark Ingram has been decent on the ground with 165 rushing yards but needs to help Brees out with bigger games. The defense has been very bad so far and must find a way to slow Philip Rivers down.

The Chargers lost 26-22 to the Indianapolis Colts and come home looking to remain undefeated there. Rivers has 793 passing yards and five touchdowns without throwing a single interception. Travis Benjamin leads the team with 17 catches for 229 yards and two touchdowns. Melvin Gordon has 194 rushing yards and four touchdowns while looking much better in his second season in the NFL. Can San Diego slow down Brees though who is on pace for 5,664 passing yards this season? That is the biggest story in this game and whether or not San Diego can pull down another home victory.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers were projected to be two of the best teams in the entire NFL this 2016 season. They haven’t disappointed so far, both with 2-1 records going into a Sunday night battle between the two in Pittsburgh. The winner of this game could end up finding their way into the playoffs easier than the other. Which team will be the one that ends up 3-1 after Week 4 and which one will be back at the .500 mark wondering what could have been? Here is a look at the matchup.

The Chiefs pounded away for a 24-3 win over the New York Jets last week. Alex Smith has thrown for 786 yards and three touchdowns this season while finding Travis Kelce 17 times for 197 yards and a touchdown. Spencer Ware has done a great job with Jamaal Charles out with 202 rushing yards and a touchdown. It would appear that Kansas City’s defense is at a top level yet again with a huge six-interception week last week against the Jets. Ben Roethlisberger is a different player so it could be hard to pull off that feat again.

The Steelers were pounded 34-3 by the Philadelphia Eagles on the road and will be looking to recover from that loss. Roethlisberger has passed for 816 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions for the season while looking the way of Antonio Brown plenty with 24 catches for 305 yards and two touchdowns. LeVeon Bell returns this week from suspension and will be the lead running back even after DeAngelo Williams rushed for 258 yards  and two touchdowns. The defense must be much better in this one after getting smashed last week by a rookie quarterback.

The AFC South looks to be a division where the Houston Texans are going to be able to control their own destiny this season. As Houston goes into their first divisional game on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, they will do so without J.J. Watt, who was put on injured reserve. This is a big chance for Tennessee as well to get a big win at home against a weakened rival. The winner of this game takes over first place in the division. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Titans lost 17-10 at home to the Oakland Raiders last week. It has been a struggle this season for Marcus Mariota so far with 723 passing yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions over the first three games. DeMarco Murray is back to his dominating self on the ground however with 245 rushing yards and a touchdown to go with 17 catches for 132 yards and two more scores. Tajae Sharpe leads the team in receiving yards with 157. If Mariota can play better than last week and the Titans defense can slow down Brock Osweiler on the road, Tennessee may be on to something this week.

The Texans have had over a week to think about their 27-0 loss on the road to the New England Patriots and now lose Watt for most of the season. Osweiler has thrown for 695 yards, three touchdowns, and four interceptions and needs to improve in his own right for the Texans to remain successful. Will Fuller has 12 catches for 242 yards and a touchdown while DeAndre Hopkins has 16 catches for 223 yards and two scores. Lamar Miller has been dominant in the run game with 269 yards on the ground. Without Watt, the defense needs to step up in a big way to control this Titans offense.

There have been some very surprising things early in the 2016 NFL season. The Arizona Cardinals were supposed to be the class of the NFC West and there are 1-2 so far. The Los Angeles Rams were supposed to struggle in their new home and they are 2-1. The two teams face off in Arizona on Sunday afternoon in a big test for both teams and how they will get through the first quarter of their season. Can the Rams actually get to 3-1 or will the Cardinals finally get on the right track? Here is a look at the matchup.

The Rams won 37-32 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and play their third road game for the season in just their fourth outing. Case Keenum has passed for 559 yards and two touchdowns to go with three interceptions and needs to produce much more in this one. Todd Gurley has 183 yards rushing and two touchdowns and seems to be getting on the right track. Kenny Britt and Tavon Austin each has 14 catches but will have trouble with a very talented Arizona defense. The Rams defense needs to find a way to slow down an angry Cardinals team who will want to put up a ton of points.

The Cardinals lost 33-18 to the Buffalo Bills last week on the road and have their third home game of the season. Carson Palmer has thrown for 862 yards and five touchdowns this season but also has four interceptions and has been sacked nine times already. Larry Fitzgerald has been great with 20 catches for 218 yards and three touchdowns while David Johnson has been a leader on the ground with 217 yards and three touchdowns. This is a game in which the defense must prove something after last week’s deflating outing. A shutout isn’t out of the equation with a defense that has a chip on their shoulder.

The Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers have a long history of excellence and great games against each other in the playoffs. The two teams are both in the midst of a rebuilding project this season and will play on Sunday afternoon in Santa Clara attempting to continue to improve on their new rosters. The Cowboys have won their last two games behind Dak Prescott, while the 49ers have lost two straight after a shutout in Week 1. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Cowboys won 31-17 on Sunday night against the Chicago Bears and have been featuring a lot of Prescott while Tony Romo is out. Prescott has passed for 767 yards and a touchdown while being a solid game manager in his rookie year. Cole Beasley has 20 catches for 213 yards while Dez Bryant has 11 catches for 150 yards and a touchdown. Ezekiel Elliott has 274 rushing yards and two touchdowns and could be the next great Dallas running back with continued progress. The Cowboys defense gets another subpar quarterback in Blaine Gabbert this week. There could be a defensive score or two.

The 49ers lost 37-18 on the road against the Seattle Seahawks and have given up 83 points over the last two weeks. Gabbert has passed for 532 yards and three touchdowns and three interceptions. Jeremy Kerley is leading the team in catches with 12 to go with 114 receiving yards. Carlos Hyde has 225 rushing yards and four touchdowns and has been the only true weapon that the 49ers have had all season. The defense must step up after the last two weeks and can’t allow Prescott and Elliott to have big games under their watch or it will be curtains for this season very early.

It has been a surprising season for the Denver Broncos so far, with the team undefeated at 3-0 with a quarterback who had never started a game before this season. Denver travels to Tampa Bay on Sunday to face the Buccaneers looking to keep that undefeated record going with the Buccaneers trying to get back to the .500 mark at 2-2 if they can pull the upset. Can Jameis Winston be better than Trevor Siemian? Here is a look at the matchup.

The Broncos hit the road and beat the Cincinnati Bengals 29-17 last week. Siemian has thrown for 756 yards, five touchdowns. and three interceptions this season and looks to find Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders early and often. Thomas has 15 catches for 238 yards while Sanders has 17 catches for 205 yards. C.J. Anderson is back leading the run game with 203 yards on the ground over 54 carries to go with two touchdowns. The defense is being dominant again, just like last season’s Super Bowl run. Winston is a quarterback that shouldn’t give the Broncos that much trouble, though.

The Buccaneers couldn’t win a 37-32 shootout with the Los Angeles Rams as they face to 1-2 for the year. Winston has thrown for 929 yards and eight touchdowns but also has six interceptions so far this season. Mike Evans is all over Winston’s radar with 21 catches for 301 yards and three touchdowns and Evans has been targeted 39 times in just three games. Charles Sims is the team’s starting running back with Doug Martin out and Sims has 88 yards on the ground and a touchdown. The defense has been lit up the last two weeks. Will they turn it around against Siemian in this one, however? Probably not.

The 2016 season started so promising for the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears as both teams were projected to be surprises in making the playoffs. Through three games, neither team looks like one that will make the playoffs at all. The two teams meet up in the Windy City on Sunday with Detroit sitting at 1-2 and the Bears winless at 0-3 and looking like the worst team in the NFL. This becomes a game where the Lions will look to go on the road and dominate a bad Chicago team. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Lions lost 34-27 on the road to the Green Bay Packers but did rally in the second half to make it close. Matthew Stafford has passed for 985 yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions for the season while finding Marvin Jones 18 times for 408 yards and two touchdowns. Jones is easily Stafford’s new favorite with Calvin Johnson’s retirement. Theo Reddick and Dwayne Washington are doing well in the run game and Riddick has 16 catches out of the backfield. The defense should see backup quarterback Brian Hoyer instead of Jay Cutler for Chicago and that could lead to a big day for Detroit.

The Bears lost 31-17 to the Dallas Cowboys and will be looking for a win finally for the 2016 season. Hoyer is likely going to start and has thrown for 395 yards and two touchdowns on the season. Alshon Jeffery has 14 catches for 271 yards to lead the team while Zach Miller was Hoyer’s security blanket last week and has 15 catches and two touchdowns. Jordan Howard takes over at running back for the injured Jeremy Langford and has 67 yards on the ground over 12 carries. The Chicago defense isn’t terrible but hasn’t faced a quarterback like Stafford yet this season. It could get very ugly.

The 1-2 Indianapolis Colts and 0-3 Jacksonville Jaguars collide in London, England. And although the game isn’t going to be the most competitive game in NFL history, the plus side is that East Coasters are treated to an early morning game at 9:30 AM. It’s essentially how people on the West Coast feel every weekend. Anyways, we digress.

The Colts are favored by Vegas by 2.5 points, and it doesn’t look like the Jaguars are going to be able to pull out a victory–even though they’ve played in London long enough that they might as well be a home team. That being said, if the Jaguars can win the game, they’ll have won an extremely important AFC South matchup, keeping them out of bottom place with the Titans.

…But that’s not going to happen. The Colts look bad, but the Jaguars look worse. Bortles is regressing, Allen Robinson isn’t picking up anything but garbage time TDs, and their dual-running back threat of TJ Yeldon and Chris Ivory has been hampered by injuries and a garbage offensive line. But you know what’s not garbage? NFL games at breakfast. So here’s how you’re going to watch it.

Two North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University students were shot and killed early Sunday morning at a large party, Greensboro police and university officials confirmed, according to CBS North Carolina.

Alisia Dieudonne, 19, and Ahmad Campbell, 21, were both shot during an altercation at a large party at 911 Circle Drive in Greensboro. They were then transported to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.

According to the CBS report, citing police, an unknown person took out a gun and began firing following the altercation. Two students were hit by the gunfire.

Dieudonne was a sophomore computer science major from Homewood, Illinois. Campbell was a junior agriculture and environmental systems major from Kittrell, North Carolina.

The shooting is currently under investigation by Greensboro police.

North Carolina A&T is a university in Greensboro with over 9,000 undergrads and over 1,500 graduate students.

With a trio of top 10 showdowns, this was one of the most exciting college football weekends in recent memory.

Former Boise State coach Chris Petersen’s Washington squad dominated Stanford en route to a 44-6 statement win  in Seattle on Friday night. Then on Saturday, Michigan and Clemson were both helped by homefield advantage in their narrow wins against Wisconsin and Louisville, respectively.

Consequently, in this week’s AP rankings Clemson moved up to #3, Michigan stood pat at #4 and Washington vaulted five spots to #5. Louisville only dropped to #7 in the rankings, Wisconsin slid to #11 and Stanford plunged eight spots to #15,

Alabama and Ohio State stayed in the top two positions after cruising to victories against Kentucky and Rutgers, respectively.

A lengthy list of teams that were unranked a week ago made the leap into the top 25: North Carolina is ranked #17, Oklahoma is slated at #20, Colorado entered at #21, West Virginia is #22 and Virginia Tech earned the #25 position.

Michigan State, San Diego State, TCU, Texas and Georgia all were dropped from the rankings after losses on Saturday.

Florida State had the biggest drop of the weekend after losing to the aforementioned North Carolina Tar Heels. The Seminoles fell 11 spots from #12 to #23.

The ruckus crowd at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota helped propel the Americans to the devisive victory.
