I am ALL about goal-based schedules. F*ckin a’, it’s 2016, times are a changin’. There are approximately 13 genders. There is virtual reality porn. Facebook, if it were a country, would be the third largest on the planet. It’s a brave new world out there, and the antiquated ways of the past are falling by the wayside. One of those old-school establishments that is on its last legs is the 40-hour, five-day work week.

It may haven taken a while (certainly longer than it took Europe), but American companies are finally realizing that work is not about the amount of hours you spend in a chair, but the type of work you produce, regardless of where it’s done. After all, according to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, working fewer hours is meant to increase productivity. Amazon seems to be the latest company to enroll in this school of thought.

According to the Washington Post, Amazon is experimenting with a 30-hour week for some employees, who will keep the benefits of full-time staff. The pilot program will include ‘a few dozen’ people working in the technical department. Amazon already employs part-time staff, but the scheme will break new ground by involving whole teams, including managers, working a reduced schedule. These employees will receive 75 per cent of a 40-hour workers’ pay

It is speculated that the announcement follows intense criticism of Amazon’s working culture in a 2015 New York Times investigation.

Amazon released a statement explaining the news (via Eventbrite):

“This initiative was created with Amazon’s diverse workforce in mind and the realization that the traditional full-time schedule may not be a ‘one size fits all’ model.”

While Amazon is not necessarily praised for its work/life culture, it’s great to see one of the biggest America corporations taking a step in the right direction.

American Ninja Warrior isn’t a show that I watch religiously or even regularly, but if I pass it on TV, usually I’ll stick around to see what’s going on. So I was vaguely aware of Jessie Graff’s existence when I saw on the internet that she did something pretty incredible last night.

For those of you who don’t know, Graff, in addition to working as a stunt girl on the show Supergirl and a lot of other productions, has been making a killing on American Ninja Warrior this year. In fact, she’s probably the most popular contestant on the show.

So back to last night: she was attempting to become the first woman to ever complete a Nationals Finals Stage 1. There are a ton of obstacles that prevent most women from finishing the event, since some females lack the muscles to do some of the crazier events. But Graff isn’t like most females. She’s an American, a ninja, and a warrior. Which might be why she became the first woman ever to complete Nationals Stage 1.

Blazing Saddles

The legendary Gene Wilder passed away yesterday, causing the entire planet to recall their favorite Wilder moments and movies. Between Young Frankenstein, Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, Silver Streak, and Stir Crazy, Wilder has appeared in some of the funniest movies of all time. Maybe the funniest of his films, though, is none other than Blazing Saddles.

Blazing Saddles, the classic Mel Brooks comedy, was released 42 years ago, which is long before most of the people reading this were born. The world in 1974 was far, far different than it is today, and thus, so was the social climate.

The fact of the matter is a truly hilarious, yet wildly offensive movie like Blazing Saddles could not be made today. With Wilder’s passing, we decided to look back on Blazing Saddles and decide which 5 jokes definitely would not fly in 2016.

G-Eazy performed at the 2016 MTV VMAs alongside Britney Spears after which he was famously turned down for a kiss by the queen of pop. A lot of people at the time were surprised he’d try to steal a smooch on national television, and apparently a new Snapchat video has emerged that might explain how the rapper blew off some steam after the rejection.

A new Snapchat video purporting to be G-Eazy doing a couple of lines of cocaine off a topless woman at an afterparty has hit the web. The guys over at Brobible were the ones who discovered this video, so make sure to check it out before it gets pulled.

Obviously we weren’t at the party, so we can’t confirm anything, but for our money that definitely looks like G-Eazy. Black clothes and all.

Chris Brown and the Los Angeles Police Department are in a standoff outside Chris Brown’s house. The reason they’re posted up outside Chris Brown’s house is that according to TMZ, a woman called 911 on CB after he pulled a gun on her. Again, nothing is confirmed but here’s the story from TMZ.

TMZ has learned Chris was in the house with several friends, including Ray J. They were talking and at one point Ray was getting a tattoo when some “uninvited guests” appeared inside the house and were asked to leave.

At that point, the story gets murky. The guests included a man who was invited, and two women who were not — one of the women who’d been asked to leave is the one who made the police report, claiming Brown pulled the gun on her. Someone inside the house insists Chris was asleep the whole time.

At some point Ray J left the house and when he got to the base of the driveway, police handcuffed him and seized his BMW. They checked his ID, uncuffed him and let him go, but kept his car as evidence. He Ubered home.

Meanwhile, Chris has professed his innocence on Instagram, going so far as to post multiple videos, and he claims that he refuses to leave his house. He also has stated that he refuses to let police inside unless they obtain a warrant.

Well, unfortunately for the rest of us, it looks like they may not be posting on their IG’s for a while.

According to The Star, the two were arrested after Canadian Border Service Agency and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security tipped the Australian authorities off to these “high-risk travellers.” When they pulled into an Australian port, they were met by border agents, the Australian Federal Police, and search dogs. A search of the ship’s nearly 2,000 compartments allegedly led to the discovery of 95 kilograms of cocaine in the suitcases of André Tamine, 63, Isabelle Lagacé, 28, and Melina Roberge, 22. The total worth of the blow? $30.5 MILLION. No wonder they could afford those $20k tickets:

The two women were travelling together and left a steady record of their journey on social media. The investigators have not determined if they were also working alongside the man who was arrested. The three suspects were identified by the border agency as “high-risk travellers.”

Australia has a reputation for having higher local prices for cocaine, and the authorities estimated that the value of the drugs they discovered was $30.5-million (Canadian), a record seizure from a cruise ship in the country.

As for their sentence? “The maximum sentence for this charge is life in prison,” the Australian Border Services said. Bummer.

Baylee Curran has been revealed as the beauty queen who accused Chris Brown of pulling a gun on her late last night. According to Baylee herself, she told TMZ that the whole incident started after she touched diamond cross that someone at the party was wearing.

She says she came to his house with a friend, spent a little time in the hot tub, and then walked back inside where a member of Chris’ crew was displaying a piece of jewelry. Baylee says when she admired it the guy went nuts, and then Chris followed suit by demanding she “get the f*** out” and pointed a gun at her.

The craziest part … as she tried to leave she says Chris’ people wouldn’t let her take her cell phone until she signed a non-disclosure agreement. She refused to sign, and she and her friend left.

Obviously this all just her side of the story, but we’re all just waiting for Chris’ camp to respond. The thing about his security trying to get her to sign an NDA is the funniest thing in the world. Like, who the hell would sign that (if the story is true)?

There are rumors flying around that the most famous YouTuber in the world, Pewdiepie, has joined ISIS, prompting Twitter to remove his verification check mark. Pewdiepie himself even tweeted out a link to the story. But if you look closely, you’ll see that it’s not actually @SkyNews but @SkyNeiws.

So yeah, he hasn’t joined ISIS.

We’re heading into the fourth week and final week of NFL training camp, which means the fourth episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks!

Hard Knocks is a reality sports documentary TV show produced by a partnership between NFL Films and HBO. The show’s first season, which followed the Baltimore Ravens, premiered in 2001. Each season, Hard Knocks follows an NFL team through its training camp and covers the team’s preparation for the upcoming football season. The NFL and HBO have called Hard Knocks “the first sports-based reality series” in television history. A film crew of 30 is on-site at the training camp and set, which launched in 2001 following the Baltimore Ravens, and since has won 14 Sports Emmys. On March 23, 2016, it was announced the Los Angeles Rams will be the team featured for the 2016 season.

The series showcases the lives of the players, coaches and staff, including their family life, position battles, and even inside jokes and pranks. It particularly focuses on rookies’ adjustments to playing in the NFL, usually with the most emphasis on the team’s most recent top draft pick. The show also usually chooses to focus on undrafted and journeyman players who are attempting to make the team.

Independent baseball and professional wrestling have a lot in common. Since neither can sell their fans on high-level competition, they instead market themselves as a nexus between sports and entertainment. And both enterprises are willing to do pretty much whatever it takes to put butts in seats.

Which is why it makes perfect sense that a Connecticut independent baseball team called the Bridgeport Bluefish has enlisted members of New World Order- the iconic 90’s WCW stable-to manage their team for one game. Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Sean Waltman- aka X-Pac in WWF and Syxx in WCW- will get the opportunity to manage the Bluefish on Friday in the team’s matchup with  the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.

For those who are unfamiliar, the nWo were the hottest thing in pro wrestling in the mid-90’s and briefly vaulted WCW past the WWF in popularity in the mid-90’s.  The group formed in 1996 when Hulk Hogan made the second most famous heel turn in wrestling history by joining with WWF defectors Hall and Nash.

The most famous was, of course, Hogan’s heel turn in 2015, when the recordings were made public of the Hulkster saying some pretty racist things after having sex with his best friend’s wife.

It’ll be curious to see if Waltman leaves the Bluefish midway through the game to join the Blue Crabs, and then starts riffing about how much the Bluefish suck.

It’s hard to conjure up a lot of sympathy for Hope Solo. The suspension is more a lifetime achievement award than for this single incident. Hope Solo’s prolific skill has kept her a fixture of the women’s national team, but the goalkeeper has constantly been a distraction over the past decade. She has no one to blame but herself after putting her foot in her mouth yet again.

With that being said, the U.S. Soccer doesn’t come out of this looking particlarly good either. After years of enabling Solo’s volatile behavior by keeping her around, U.S. Soccer suspended her for poor behavior only after it became clear at the Olympics that her skills are declining.

Plus the 6-month suspension is mostly symbolic because the national team will have no important matches in that timeframe. This was obviously a PR move, when a more substantive one would be to simply to stop naming Solo to the team for upcoming national team matches without making a contrived public statement.

After a lengthy stand-off with the police at his Los Angeles home, Chris Brown was arrested tonight and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, which is a felony. Baylee Curan- who was Miss California Regional 2016- filed a police report this afternoon and the police obtained a search warrant.

She says she came to his house with a friend, spent a little time in the hot tub, and then walked back inside where a member of Chris’ crew was displaying jewelry. Baylee says when she admired one piece the guy went nuts, and then Chris followed suit by demanding she “get the f*** out” and pointed a gun at her.

Then allegedly Chris’s people tried to get her to sign a non-disclosure agreement before she left the house.

Now while Chris Brown is innocent until proven guilty, he is certainly guilty of having absolutely zero chill. If he did what Baylee says he did, let’s hope Chris gets some time behind bars to give him some time to reflect on his dumpster fire of a personal life.

For all the reasons to pull a gun on someone, them admiring your friend’s jewelry has to be the single dumbest reason in human history. It’s such a nonsensical motive that I’d like to give Chris Brown the benefit of the doubt, but this is Chris Brown we’re talking about. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

On a lighter note, take a look at this Instagram video posted earlier today by Nick “Swaggy P” Young. In it the Lakers shooting guard pleads his neighbor to Chris Brown for move away after “making the block hot” with law enforcement again. Because at least Swaggy P’s foolish mistakes with women don’t break any laws.

Stranger Things has announced that it will return for Season 2, making a ton of people extremely happy about having one of their favorite shows come back. Even better is that writers Matt and Rose Duffer are also confirmed on coming back, meaning that we can expect pretty much a continuation of the show we loved so much.

When Does Stranger Things Return / Start?

Stranger Things will return in 2017. We don’t know the exact dates yet, but the first season was released in July, so we might expect the same for season 2.

There are nine new episodes confirmed for the second season.

Stranger Things 2 will be produced by 21 Laps for Netflix. Executive Producers Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and the Duffer Brothers will all return for season 2.
