Winning an Olympic medal will lead to some fun celebrating no matter what country you’re from, but you have to imagine a beer-filled extravaganza for Ireland’s only medal-winners will be especially ruckus. Brothers Gary and Paul O’Donovan won Ireland’s first ever Olympic rowing medal and only medal thus far, so you’d expect them to pretty excited to go party back in Ireland- a country that’ll have the beer flowing because it’s Thursday.

The silver medalists were in great spirits after winning a silver medal in the lightweight double sculls competition in Rio, and gave one of the goofiest post-victory interviews you’ll ever see. They talked about urine samples, podium pants and how they wished they were back in Ireland to take part in the initial celebrations in the interview with RTÉ Sport.

The things they say are highly unusual (“What’s the craic?”), and let’s be honest, everything is funnier with an Irish accent. After posting yet another story about Irish UFC star Conor McGregor running his mouth, it’s nice to see some amiable Irishmen using that accent for good.

Kenny’s passing at the age of 81 also puts an end to one of showbiz’s finest feuds. His off-screen bickering with costar Anthony Daniels — who brought C3PO to life — easily matched the onscreen bantering that had R2-D2 dismissed as a “scrap pile.”

In fact, Kenny really seemed to enjoy dissing Anthony Daniels in public over the years. It was more entertaining than The Phantom Menace, for sure. The feud went public in 2005, after the release of Episode VI: Revenge of The Sith — when Baker gave an interview as he retired from the series:

Once, when I said hello to him, he just turned his back on me and said, ‘Can’t you see I’m having a conversation?’ I was blazing with rage It was the rudest thing anyone had ever done to me. Kenny later got in one of the great Star Wars digs when he was asked if he’d be attending a cast reunion in London — saying: “It depends if you invite his lordship — the one with the golden balls. If he comes, I won’t be there.”

Yeah, he was talking about Anthony Daniels — who usually tried to stay out of the whole thing.

Kenny didn’t appreciate that, either — especially because he though Anthony’s aloofness cost the pair a lot of big bucks.

“I thought it was just me he didn’t get on with, but recently I’ve found out he doesn’t get on with anyone,” said Kenny in 2009 — adding: “We could make a fortune touring around making personal appearances. I’ve asked him four times now, but — the last time — he looked down his nose at me like I was a piece of sh!t.

“He said, ‘I don’t do many of these conventions. Go away, little man.’ He really degraded me and made me feel small, for want of a better expression.”

Yeah, we’re going to miss that kind of dirt. But, in C3PO’s defense, Kenny got a little more mellow toward the end: “Daniels has no time for any of the other actors — not just me — and none of them have a good word to say about him. However, I maintain that I don’t hate Daniels. In fact, I don’t hate anyone, as it just isn’t in my nature.”

But, of course, Kenny couldn’t let it go at that: “I just don’t like him, and have never understood what his problem is. Other than Daniels thinks he was the greatest gift to George Lucas  — and I was merely a nobody who operated a robot’s controls, and didn’t contribute anything from an acting perspective.”

Man, we hate to think of what Kenny would’ve lived to boop next. Anyway, he got along with at least one costar — so let’s all think happy thoughts as R2D2 goes off to become more powerful than we can possibly imagine…

The world’s fastest woman will be crowned tonight, as the semifinals and finals of the Olympics women’s track and field 100m will take place at João Havelange Stadium in Rio.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is chasing history as she bids to become the first athlete to win the gold medal for the third time, having won at Beijing 2008 and London 2012. Among those looking to upsurp Fraser-Pryce is her Jamaican teammate Elaine Thompson.

US champion English Gardner also has a reasonable chance to become the first American to win the Olympic gold medal since Atlanta 1996 (Gail Devers). Americans Tianna Bartoletta- who is also the world long jump champion- and Tori Bowie are also medal contenders.

The association football tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics is being held from August 4 to August 20 in Brazil. In addition to the Olympic host city of Rio de Janeiro, matches will also be played in Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Salvador, São Paulo, and Manaus. All six cities hosted matches during the 2014 World Cup, with the Estádio Olímpico João Havelange in Rio the only Olympic venue not to have been a World Cup venue. Associations affiliated with FIFA may send teams to participate in the tournament. Men’s teams are restricted to under-23 players (born on or after 1 January 1993) with a maximum of three overage players allowed, while there are no age restrictions on women’s teams.

The teams participating in the Olympic Games this year are: Brazil, Iraq, Denmark, South Africa make up Group A. Japan, Colombia, Nigeria, and Sweden are the Group B competitors. Group C is made up of Germany, South Korea, Fiji, and Mexico. And finally, the Group D teams are Argentina, Algeria, Portugal, and Honduras. Germany, Portugal, Brazil, Colombia, South Korea, Honduras, Nigeria, and Denmark advanced to the quarterfinals.

In last week’s episode of Vice Principals, Neal Gamby (Danny McBride) and Lee Russell’s (Walton Goggins) plans to sabotage Dr. Belinda Brown (Kimberly Hebert Gregory) hit a big time snag. With North Jackson set to play their hated rival Percival in football later in the week, Percival vandalized North Jackson with the always hilarious combo of mannequins and horse manure.

Gamby and Russell attempted to use this rivalry to their advantage by dressing in disguise and joining some Percival students in a second attack on North Jackson. They defaced their own school’s property and spray-painted disparaging remarks about Dr. Brown on the walls.

North Jackson held a pep rally before the big game, and everyone besides Gamby and Russell was pretty bummed out. The students figured they would get their ass kicked by Percival like they do every year, and Dr. Brown was heartbroken that her life was in shambles. But out of nowhere, Dr. Brown used her hardships to deliver a rousing speech that whipped the students into a frenzy.

This turn of events sent Gamby and Russell into a panic, causing that psychopath Russell to determine that the only way to defeat Dr. Brown is to drug the football team’s water cooler. Gamby tried to stop Russell, and in the ensuing fight over the water cooler, they both got drenched by the acid-laced water. Gamby and Russell immediately felt the effects of the acid, and they had to watch the rest of the game from under the bleachers.

Motivated by Dr. Brown’s speech, North Jackson pulled off an amazing last-second win over their arch nemesis. The episode ended with the students carrying Dr. Brown on their shoulders, and Gamby and Russell realizing that they were totally screwed.

The wannabe Jordan’s name is Jeffrey Harrison, and he is an autistic man from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho who has idolized basketball’s GOAT since he was 4 years old. After he was profiled by local news station KREM-2, the real Jordan heard his story and hooked up the super fan with two boxes full of Jordan brand swag.

The package came with a special message from the GOAT himself.

But that’s not all. Jeffrey also got a phone call from his hero.

Check out this Lamborghini becoming a raging ball of fire in Chicago. Luckily its owner escaped before the car caught fire, so we can make fun of him for carelessly crashing his exorbitantly priced car into a light pole without regret. Note: the guy filming the video calls the car a Ferrari but it is indeed a Lamborghini.

While obviously it sucks to have a car that cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars literally go up in smoke, it’s hard to have much sympathy. Someone only drives around in a Lamborghini because he wants everybody to notice him, so congratulations in advance on going viral.  Maybe I’m just a jealous jerk, but I find it poetic that this guy who thought he had the most fire car on the block literally had his car catch on fire.

Now only like 100,000 articles more for COED until I can afford to buy myself a Lamborghini. Until then I’m going to keep driving my Rav-4 and taking consolation in schadenfreude.

The Premier League 2016-2017 season kicked off yesterday, but unquestionably the biggest game of the weekend takes place today between Arsenal and Liverpool. Liverpool, now under the management of former Borussia Dortmund boss Jürgen Klopp, finished in 8th last season, which ties for their worst finish in a decade. Arsenal on the other hand, led by 20-year manager Arsene Wenger, finished in second place, behind only champion Leicester City.

The 2016–17 Premier League is the 25th season of the Premier League, the top English professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1992. The season began August 13, 2016, and will last until May 21,  2017. Leicester City are the defending champions, with Burnley, Middlesbrough and Hull City being promoted from the Football League Championship. There was a lot of horror in the party over Hillary’s determination to deny the world something wonderful like President Obama just because she thought it was her turn to get into the White House.

Bill Lynch, who was working for the Clintons out of Harlem, even said of Hillary’s desperate racism: “I’ve been concerned about some of those comments — and that there might be a backlash.” You know, like the backlash we’re supposed to be worrying about after Donald Trump made some vague comment about “the Second Amendment people” taking care of a President Hillary.

It really happened, as she assured editors at the South Dakota newspaper The Argus Leader that she still had a shot at the 2008 nomination.

“My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992,” insists homicidally-happy Hillary, “until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? The last game for Team USA in the Olympics Men’s Basketball preliminary round is against France, a competitive but easily winnable game for the United States. Juan Martín Del Potro’s miracle run in the Olympics men’s singles tennis tournament continues today and the Argentine has a chance to win the gold medal. But standing between Del Potro and that gold is the world’s number 2 ranked player- Great Britain’s Andy Murray.

Sausage Party struck a blow for bad taste at the box-office this weekend — and we caught a big-screen presentation of 1978’s Animal House, so it was also a great weekend for the kind of movies that just aren’t supposed to be funny anymore.

There are plenty of SJWs who are going to talking about the end of civilization because Sausage Party set the record for the largest August opening ever for an animated film. That’s after the latest from Seth Rogen and his gang opened to an impressive $33.6 million despite plenty of complaints that the movie dared to be sexist and irreverent and even racist over its depiction of tacos.

Also, Sausage Party was an original idea, which might even be a wake-up call for studios stuck in the world of sequels, remakes, and reboots. We don’t think anything will make the studios less scared of being called racists and sexists on Twitter, though.

There is some comfort for outraged keyboard warriors, though. Suicide Squad only brought in $43.8 million on its second week — which is good news for the movie plenty of people derided for being sexist and celebrating gun culture. The good news for the patriarchal society is that was enough money to keep Suicide Squad at #1 two weeks in a row. It’s still a depressing 67% slide from opening week — very close to how badly Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice performed in its second week. Personally, we think Suicide Squad could’ve used more guns.

The Olympics were meant to revamp Rio’s sketchy image, but the city’s dangerous underbelly remains a problem. Just ask 12-time Olympic medal-winning swimmer Ryan Lochte, who was reportedly robbed at gunpoint this morning.

The reports was confirmed true by Lochte’s own mother to USA Today, but strangely the IOC has denied it. IOC spokesman Mark Adams said the reports were “absolutely not true.”

Ileana Lochte seemingly would have no reason to lie about this, whereas the IOC is incentivized to try to depict its host city in a positive light.The IOC had hoped the Olympics would showcase Brazil’s progress to the world, but it has instead magnified the country’s problems of crime, political corruption and economic inequality.   The IOC is a notoriously shady organization and if it Lochte actually was robbed at gun point they will have for no reason made themselves look like liars.

But then again the IOC might be telling the truth after all, because they’re not the only ones saying the robbery never happened.

David Marsh, Lochte’s personal coach and the head women’s coach for the U.S. swim team, said he was with Lochte later Sunday morning and the swimmer did not say anything about being held up.

According to the reports, Lochte and at least one teammate were in a cab that stopped to get gas when they were held up and confronted by people who had guns and knives. Lochte’s mom said he had his wallet taken but was not harmed.

Let’s hope we don’t hear too many more stories like this during the remainder of the Olympics.

At the pep rally before the big game, the students weren’t very enthused, and Dr. Brown looked totally defeated. Gamby and Russell were gloating, thinking that Dr. Brown is finished at North Jackson. But out of nowhere, Dr. Brown found strength from all the disasters that have happened to her and delivered a rousing speech that put the entire student body on their feet.

This sent Gamby and Russell into a panic, with Russell deciding that the only way for them to regain the upper hand is to put acid in the football team’s water cooler. Gamby tried to stop him, and in the struggle over the cooler, the drug-laced water got all over them. They proceeded to trip balls, and they watched the rest of the game from under the bleachers.

North Jackson pulled off a huge upset win over their arch nemesis, and the crowd went wild. The episode concluded with the students carrying Dr. Brown on their shoulders, much to the chagrin of Gamby and Russell.

Last time we saw LeBron James and Drake in the same arena LeBron was clowning the rapper after taking down Drake’s hometown Toronto rappers. This was Drake was performing on LeBron’s turf in Columbus, Ohio and the two were far friendlier.

Aubrey brought out the Finals MVP onstage and LeBron’s Ohio brethren went nuts. The guy whose jerseys they were burning just a few years is once again Ohio’s most prized possession.

Aubrey and LeBron have a lot in common; both can be insufferably corny but they are inarguably the biggest stars in their respective fields.

The 2012 Games were the most frustrating for Tania, as she finished in fourth place in both the 3 meter springboard and the synchronized 3 meter springboard.

The 30-year-old Francesca had previously competed in the 2008 and 2012 Games, and she was 0-for-3 at medaling in diving events on the biggest stage in sports. Her best finish was also fourth, as she was Tania’s partner for the synchronized 3 meter springboard at the 2012 Olympics.

On Sunday, August 7, the duo of Tania and Francesca was finally able to get on the podium. Their score of 313.83 was good enough for silver in the synchronized 3 meter springboard final, giving them that elusive medal. Francesca is done competing at 2016 Games, while Tania will look to add another Olympic medal to her trophy case in the 3 meter springboard final on Sunday, August 14 at 3:00 p.m.

Since joining the U.S. national team in 2012, Kelsey has helped them win five medals in international competition. The forward’s most notable accomplishment was bringing home gold at the 2015 Pan American Games, punching the USA’s ticket to the 2016 Summer Olympics in the process.

Kelsey is making her first Olympic appearance in Rio, and she and her U.S. teammates are off to a great start. They finished second in Pool B after going 4-1 in group play, with wins over Australia, Argentina, Japan, and India. Chinese diver He Zi won a silver medal today in the Women’s Diving 3m Springboard Final, but that wasn’t the only hardware she got. Her boyfriend- fellow Chinese diver Qin Kai got down on one knee and asked He Zi to marry him. Luckily for this casanova, she said yes.

I  actually didn’t see this happen live, but I’m guessing he must have first gotten turned down by the diver who won the gold, right?

Seriously, this is a nice moment. But when these public proposals happen I always root for the woman to say no. It just seems unfair to put them on the spot like that with the whole world watching. Call me a jerk if you want, but you couldn’t look me in the eye and tell me this video wouldn’t be way more entertaining if she turned this dude down.

Now let’s just hope she doesn’t take that diamond ring to the dangerous parts of Rio.
