Mr. Robot is an American drama–thriller television series created by Sam Esmail. It stars Rami Malek as Elliot Alderson, a cybersecurity engineer and hacker. Alderson suffers from social anxiety disorder and clinical depression. Alderson is recruited by an insurrectionary anarchist known as “Mr. Robot,” played by Christian Slater, to join a group of hacktivists. The group aims to cancel all debts by attacking the large corporation E Corp.

Mr. Robot came out of nowhere last summer to become a massive hit, winning the 2015 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama. USA Network doesn’t have many critically acclaimed shows, especially that premiere during the summer, but Mr. Robot defied those odds and became a massive critical and commercial success. In fact, it was also nominated for the at the 2016 Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series.  The 12-episode second season premiered on July 13, 2016.

Germany and Fiji will kick off today in a third Group C Men’s Soccer Game at 3 PM EST. Although the game won’t be aired on NBCSports or one of the major networks, you can catch it either on the Olympic Soccer Specialty channel or via live stream.

Germany desperately needs a win in the group stage to advance, so luckily they’re playing against the much weaker Fiji team today. In their previous two games, Germany has tied Mexico and South Korea. Mexico is the reigning Olympic champion, but South Korea was definitely a game they should win–just like today against Fiji.

Meanwhile, Fiji is just pumped to be in the games. They scored their first goal ever against Mexico (celebrating as they should) but then the reigning champs responded with five goals. Look for Fiji to try for another score today, even though that probably won’t happen.

Stephen A. Smith’s Tribute To John Saunders Is The Only One You Need To See

The sports world was shocked today with the news of the death of legendary ESPN anchor John Saunders. An unexpected death if there ever was one, Saunders died at the age of 61, the reasons for which are still unknown.

The news of Saunders’ death became public during the airing of ESPN’s biggest show, First Take. The host of First Take, Stephen A. Smith, has made a name for himself throughout the years for his passionate and frankly bloviated demeanor. However, even the haters will admit, that if Stephen A. Smith is anything, he’s real. And in that light, his tribute to the late John Saunders is the only one you’ll need to watch today.

You can just tell by Smith’s account of Saunders’ life how truly great of a man he was:

RIP John Saunders.

One witness said the man began his climb when he was standing on the sub roof garden, which is accessible to the public. He then started climbing, using a contraption made up of suction cups.

18-Year-Old Idiot Spiked A Cop’s Drink With THC & Meth, Now In Jail

Tanis Lloyd Ukena Spike Drink

Tanis Llyod Ukena is the name of the Layton, Utah idiot who decided it would be a good idea to spike/poison the drink of a local Police Sergeant who visited the subway where Tanis was working. The Layton Police Department claim that Tanis added THC and methamphetamine to the Sergeant’s drink when he wasn’t looking.

Who Is Tanis Ukena?

Tanis an 18-year-old dummy who used to work at Subway before he was caught on security footage putting something in a Police Sergeant’s drink. He’s a graduate of North Davis Jr. High.

What Happened?

According to police statements, the Sergeant visited the Subway for lunch (as many of us are known for doing), but when he tasted his liter of cola*, he noticed that something was wrong with the taste. Apparently, the Sargeant noticed the taste of trace chemicals.

When he got into his car and started driving, the police sergeant realized that when “he came to a red light on his way back to the station and his body wouldn’t let him hit the brake, according to KSTU.”

The Sergeant eventually made it to the station safely, but he was taken to the hospital where they ran some tests on him. The doctors and nurses realized he tested positive for THC and methamphetamine–two drugs that shouldn’t ever be mixed. Actually, let’s just say that meth should never be taken ever. Anyways, the officer returned to Subway and after reviewing the footage realized that Tanis was probably responsible.

“The suspect was seen taking the sergeant’s order, filling his drink,” Sgt. Bobrowski said. “The suspect left the sergeant’s drink on the counter and left the picture frame. In the video you can see him returning with something in his hand and then leaning over the sergeant’s drink for an unusual amount of time. The suspect then provided the sergeant with the drink.”

As for Denmark, they have a win and a tie so far: they beat South Africa 1-0, and tied Iraq 0-0. If Brazil does not win tonight, they will not advance.

Leven Thumps: Full Story & Must-See Details of Trump Tower Climber

Trump Tower Suction Cups Climber

A man who goes by the YouTube name of Leven Thumps has been announced as the man who climbed Trump Towers with suction cups on Wednesday afternoon. According to witnesses, “Leven Thumps” began his climb around 3:45 PM from the fifth floor sub garden.

It’s not yet known what his purpose for scaling the building on East 56th Street, but in a manifesto video that he posted to YouTube yesterday, he’s made it clear that he’s a Trump supporter and that he would just like an audience with Donald.

You can watch the video above (which seems like it was filmed in a very nice apartment here in Manhattan, likely the Upper East Side), but here’s his message:

“Hello Mr. Trump. Do excuse my manner of appearance, I just don’t know how many people will watch this, and I would rather not be recognizable. I am an independent researcher seeking a private audience with you to discuss an important matter. I guarantee you that it is in your interest to honor this request,” he says in the video.

“Believe me, if my purpose was not significant, I would not risk my life to pursuing it. The reason I climbed your tower was to get your attention. If I had sought this via conventional means I would be much less likely to have success because you are a busy man with many responsibilities. I’ll get my contact information to your campaign so that if you are interested you can respond.”

Who Is Leven Thumps?

We don’t yet know the real name of man climbing Trump Towers, but the name he’s given himself (Leven Thumps) actually comes from children’s fiction story. Here’s the description from Wikipedia.

Leven Thumps is a popular children’s fantasy series by writer Obert Skye. The series, which has five books, deals with an orphaned 14-year-old boy, Leven Thumps, who becomes involved in a battle between good and evil.

It was made pretty clear that Leven wasn’t a threat to anyone, but still this isn’t the kind of thing that the New York Police Department or New York Fire Department wants people doing.

A Surgeon in Massachusetts Just Removed a Kidney From The Wrong Patient

youtube.com

Elizabeth Cohen of CNN just released an article about a Massachusetts surgeon who is “accused” of removing the kidney out of the wrong patient. According to her, the surgeon out of St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester is currently under investigation and has since been put on a “timeout”. You can read the full story here.

I’m willing to bet some intern is probably at fault for putting the wrong clipboard at the end of this patients hospital bed. I mean there’s a slim chance the surgeon will take the full blame. There were probably 10 other people in that room during the surgery and all of them were on the same page (obviously the wrong page). So it was probably some low-ranked employee who hand one task and f**ked it all up.

Imagine showing up to a hospital and leaving without a kidney when you were just supposed to get your wisdom teeth removed. Bummer.

Today’s Olympic Men’s Basketball action is with Group B, and we have the host nation Brazil tipping off against Croatia at 1:15 P.M. EST. Coverage of the game will begin at 1:00 P.M. EST on the USA Network, but there are also ways to live stream the game. Brazil is currently tied for third with Croatia in Group B, each with three points apiece, so today’s game is crucial for seeding in the next round.

Normally, I’d say that a Brazilian team without Thiago Splitter or Anderson Varejao wouldn’t stand a chance against Croatia, but the host’s incredible 66-65 victory over Spain means that anything is possible for Brazil. Once again, they’ll need to rely on their home court advantage and ride Nene’s offensive ability.

Meanwhile, Croatia will look to rebound after their 90-82 loss to Argentina, which might have been expected. The Croatians have already played the two toughest opponents in the group (ARG and SPA) so the fact that they already have one win is something they should be proud of. Their destiny is now in their hands.

This Is The Reason The Rock Wants To Whoop Vin Diesel’s Candy A**, And We’re Team Rock 100%

0

The Rock feud Vin Diesel

via Getty

I’ve never been more “Team Anything” than I am “Team Rock.” I’m more Team Rock right now than I am Team USA. I was one of the pioneering members of the esteemed The Rock Should Run For President Club. All of my support for The Rock is only amplified when it comes to his ongoing beef with Vin Diesel. There’s something about Vin Diesel (or as I like to call him, JV Rock) that’s really off-putting about him, but I just can’t put my finger on it. Actually, wait, yes I can: it all started with him pervily dancing to Beyonce on Facebook. That, and the fact that he’s a genuinely sh*t actor.

And as it turns out that not only in Vin Diesel incompetent but also wildly unprofessional. And with his unwarranted unprofessionalism, he angered maybe the most humble and hard working man in the industry: The Rock. If I were Vin, I’d quit while I was ahead. As the saying goes, you don’t mess with the bull, and I could legitimately picture The Rock ending Vin’s career. Think of what Drake did to Meek Mill last summer: same thing.

According to TMZ:

The crew has chosen sides in the “Fast 8” feud between The Rock and Vin Diesel… and Rock wins, hands down.

Production sources tell TMZ, The Rock has been upset with Vin’s work ethic for a long time, and he’s not alone. Members of the crew tell us Vin was often 30 minutes to an hour late to shoot scenes… and it wasn’t because he was late to the set — he was simply in his trailer and wouldn’t come out.

We’re told Vin didn’t like Monday 7 AM calls so production was forced to make the start time 10 AM to accommodate him.

And the crew felt Vin’s arrogance was out of control, especially because he had a producer title. We’re told he wouldn’t listen to anyone and would goad people, including The Rock, by criticizing their acting.

The crew has a vastly different view of The Rock. They say he’s the ultimate professional who is always on time and always nails his scenes. They also say he’s easy to work with.

Furthermore, when Vin finished filming his scenes, he gathered everyone and said he was leaving. During his speech, he said, “Daddy’s gone,” because he thinks of himself as the father figure on set. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Dude. Please. You’re the least interesting part of these movies. You’re the worst actor in these movies. The only reason you’re still in them is because you were in the original. Honestly, I’m willing to bet the Fast and Furious franchise would make more money if they killed of Diesel’s character. Actually, hopefully, they decide to off him in Fast 8.

So, nothing really surprising here: The Rock is as awesome as he acts, and Vin Diesel is douchey as he appears. Par for the course. Now, f*ck a movie, let’s get these two in the ring. I would pay more to watch the Rock beat the piss out of Vin Diesel than any other UFC event.

Michelle Jenneke is an Australian hurdler, who will be competing at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Back in 2012, the Kenthurst, New South Wales, Australia native set the internet on fire when a video of her dancing before a race at the Junior World Championships went viral.

Michelle-Jenneke-Dance-Before-Race

When the 23-year-old’s not crushing the competition on the track or making guys weak in the knees, she’s studying Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Sydney. I have no idea what the hell that means, but it sure sounds impressive. Her combo of beauty, brains, world-class athleticism, and elite dancing skills is unparalleled.

Jenneke qualified for Rio by winning the Australian National Championship in the 100-meter hurdles. This will be her Olympic debut, and if there’s a God, she will return to the biggest stage in sports many times over. Check out Michelle’ Jenneke’s hottest GIFs in the gallery below, and be sure to watch her compete in round 1 of the 100-meter hurdles on Tuesday, August 16th.

Evgenia Ukolova and Ekaterina Birlova are representing Russia in beach volleyball at the 2016 Summer Olympics. This is Evgenia and Ekaterina’s second straight Olympic appearance together, as they previously competed as a team at the 2012 Games in London.

At the 2012 Olympics, Evgenia and Ekaterina had a solid showing, advancing to the round of 16 before getting eliminated by Xue Chen and Zhang Xi of China. It will be extremely hard for them to make it that far in 2016, as they have gotten off to a dreadful start in Pool A. They are currently 0-2 after getting swept by both Talita Antunes and Larissa França of Brazil and Monika Brzostek and Kinga Kołosińska of Poland.

Russia will look to get on track in a matchup with USA’s Brooke Sweat and Lauren Fendrick on Thursday, August 11 at 2:30 p.m. While we wait for Brooke and Lauren to pulverize these Russians into submission, let’s take a look at some of Evgenia and Ekaterina’s hottest photos.

One wearing a hat covering his face and carrying an absurd semi-automatic scope rifle, and the other rocking a mean-looking pistol and covering his face with a t-shirt. I have absolutely no idea how he got robbed and managed to take this photo, but in the Instagram post below he says that they emptied his pockets but left him unharmed. Maybe he asked if he could take a photo of the two of them to post to the ‘Gram before they took his phone? IDK.

These freaking kids look like something straight out of City of God, one of the coolest movies ever until you realize that it’s entirely real… at which point it becomes pretty depressing.

Watching Seth Rogen & Ricky Williams Talk About Weed Is The Best Time Waster Of The Week

Seth Rogan Ricky Williams

I haven’t been watching Bill Simmons’ new HBO show Any Given Wednesday (other than the time Ben Affleck was sh*tfaced on the show), so I’m not sure if it’s any good. But what I do know is that he’s been pulling some serious heavy hitters. In his 7 weeks on the air, he’s had: Ben Affleck, Charles Barkley, Bill Hader, Mark Cuban, Malcolm Gladwell, Joe Rogan, Chris Bosh, Anthony Anderson, Aaron Rodgers, Danny McBride, Christina Hendricks, Caitlyn Jenner, JJ Reddick, and finally, Seth Rogen & Ricky Williams.

If you don’t know why Rogen and Williams were booked for the same week, well, A). you’re a generally clueless person, and B). they are both massive stoners. And as two of the wealthiest and most famous marijuana enthusiasts in the nation, you could imagine they have some incredible weed-related insights.

The best way to describe this video is a Seth Rogen quote when asked which President he would like to smoke weed with:

“Teddy Roosevelt did seem cool. The Rough Riders? As a DMX fan, I’m gonna go with Teddy Roosevelt.”

Melanie Margalis is a 24-year-old U.S. Olympic swimmer, who specializes in the 200-meter individual medley and the 4 x 200-meter freestyle. The University of Georgia grad has won three medals in international competition. At the 2013 Summer Universiade, she won a gold in the 4 x 200-meter freestyle and a bronze in the 200-meter individual medley. At the 2014 FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m), she won a bronze in the 200-meter individual medley.

Margalis punched her ticket to Rio by finishing second in the 200-meter individual medley finals at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. This is her first Olympic appearance, and let’s hope that it ends with a medal around her neck.

She will be racing in the finals of the 200-meter individual medley on Tuesday, August 9 at 10:29 p.m. on NBC. It’s an absolutely stacked race that includes fellow countrywoman Maya DiRado and Hungarian Katinka Hosszú.

Let’s do our part in wishing Melanie Margalis good luck by taking a look at 22 of her hottest photos.

The Women’s Gymnastics All-Around Final is happening today at 3:00 P.M. EST, but if you’re going to watch it on TV, then you’ll have to wait until 8:00 P.M. EST to catch it on NBC. Since we’re not going to wait five hours, we’ll be live streaming the event from NBCSports.com.

Although Team USA has only two gymnasts who qualified for the individual finals, Simone Biles and Aly Raisman, they finished #1 and #2 in the qualifications. Simone tallied up a total of 62.366 points, whereas Aly earned 60.607.

Simone Biles is generally considered the best gymnast in Olympic history, so hopefully she earns herself the gold medal to solidify that belief.
