UFC Fight Night 89 in Ottawa had a lot of memorable moments, with six fights on the bill wrapping up in the third round. That included Donald Cerrone going up against Canadian favorite Patrick Cote to set the UFC record for most finishes.

Sean O’Connell and Steve Bosse probably set the record for cranial damage as they landed a combines 224 strikes to each other, and most of those seemed to land on the noggins. We doubt UFC will promote that record, but it was a pretty amazing sight that ended in Bosse winning the decision.

But the craziest bout of the night was Krzysztof Jotko keeping things efficient by KO’ing Tamdan McCrory in the bout’s first 59 seconds. (Yeah, we know the headlines says it took a full minute, but we bet it felt that way to McCrory.) That gives Jotko a 5-1 record inside the Octogon.

Anton Yelchin — famous for playing Chekov in the new Star Trek franchise — passed away early Sunday morning after a fatal car accident.

He was found around 1 am at his San Fernando Valley home by concerned friends, with his body between his still-running car and a mailbox that was part of his security gate.

The actor is in this summer’s upcoming Star Trek: Beyond, and also took on the lead roles in the underseen Odd Thomas and the 2011 remake of Fright Night.

Yelchin was 27.

The penultimate episode of Game Of Thrones epic sixth season will be “Battle Of The Bastards”. The show runners of Game Of Thrones have said in interviews that this episode will features the largest battle ever shown on television. It is also the most expensive episode of Game Of Thrones ever produced. Needless to say, this episode is going to be one of, if not THE, best ever episode of Game Of Thrones. “Battle Of The Bastards” will air Sunday, June 19, at 9 PM EST.

This episode, like most of the series’ previous big battle episodes, “Battle Of The Bastards” will be dedicated to just one storyline, which in this case in the Northern story line.

“Thousands of men don’t need to die … only one of us.” Is that not the most intense, heroic quote this show has ever had? I think so. Please, Game Of Thrones, please let Jon Snow survive.

• I have this awful feeling that something bad is gonna happen to Jon Snow. I’m pretty positive he’ll survive, but there’s just something very ominous about the whole thing.
• Good to see Ser Davos getting in on the action for once. I bet he kicks major ass, and it’s being rumored the ass his is attempting to kick is Melisandre.
• Tormund is going to die this week. I’m calling it. Unfortunately.
• A Stark will also die this week, either Rickon or Sansa. For the love of god, ANYONE BUT JON SNOW.
• No sign of Brienne Of Tarth. She has to be there, though. She is one of the best fighters in all the land, and Snow needs her.
• Looks like this is the only storyline we’re getting next week, which is perfectly okay with me.
• This is going to be the best Game Of Thrones episode of all time.

Anton Yelchin has passed away at the age of 27 . According to TMZ, actor Anton Yelchin, known for his roles in “Star Trek” and “Alpha Dog,” was killed early Sunday morning after getting pinned by his own car. Yelchin was supposed to meet his friends for a rehearsal. When he did not show, his friends traveled to Yelchin’s San Fernando Valley home at around 1 AM and found him pinned between his car and a brick mailbox, which was attached to a security gate.

Law enforcement told TMZ:

“The engine was running when his body was discovered, and the car was in neutral. The driveway was on a fairly steep incline. It’s unclear why he got out of the car.”

Despite this, cops do not suspect foul play was involved.

Anton Yelchin died at the age of 27.

Carice Anouk van Houten is a Dutch actress and singer, who is best known for her role of Melisandre, The Red Woman, in Game of Thrones. As a successful actress, she has appeared in films such as Valkyrie, Repo Men, Black Death, and Black Book. Van Houten has won five Golden Calf Awards, which is like the Netherlands equivalent of the Academy Awards, for Best Actress for her roles in Suzy Q (1999),Undercover Kitty (2001), Black Book(2006), The Happy Housewife(2010) and Black Butterflies (2011). As for accolades in the United States,  van Houten has received two Saturn Award nominations.

None of that matters though, as basically the entire world knows her as Melisandre from Game of Thrones. Melisandre is a Red Priest who has been on Game Of Thrones ever since it’s second season. Game Of Thrones Season 6 Episode 9 Recap for “Battle Of The Bastards”

For all the idiots in the room, this is a RECAP so obviously SPOILERS ARE AHEAD. Now, let’s get to it:

(Editors Note: This is a college website, so this review was written as I sat in a room with my 5 other buddies. The reactions, opinions, and knowledge – or lack thereof – are both very collective, and very genuine. The quotes are live reactions- word for word.)

Meereen: The episode opens with a surprise visit to Meereen, which was a nice addition to the episode. Tyrion and Daenerys are discussing what to do about the attack.

Winterfell: Ramsay and Jon discuss terms of battle, with Jon offering a 1 on 1. As sweet as that would have been, Ramsay decline like the punk he is.

“Ramsay never fails to reveal his inner bitch-ass-ness.”

Meereen: The Slave Masters and Daeneyrs discuss terms of a surrender, with Daeneyrs absolutely clowning them. Her dragons torch the hell out of her ships, and Grey Worm slits the throats of 2 of the 3 Slave Masters.
Winterfell: There is a scene between Tormund and Davos, and a scene between Jon and Sansa.

The battle begins with Ramsay f*cking with Rickon, as he does with all of his prisoners. He tells Rickson to run to Jon as fast as he can, and predictably launches arrows at him. In a classic cliche moment, an arrow hits Rickon right before he reaches Jon.

Jon gets pissed and begins to charge at Ramsay, forcing his army to do the same, therefore abandoning their plan. Jon’s horse gets brought down by a sea of arrows, as the Bolton army charges. Things are looking pretty grim as he draws his sword and prepares to die. But, just as the Bolton army is about to hit him, his own army arrives, and the battle begins.

The battle is literally beautiful. There are so sticky situations throughout, specifically for Tormund and Jon, but both make it out alive as Peter Baylish and The Vail show up to save the day. Gotta give Sansa credit for that one.

Ramsay retreats intro Winterell, but Wun Wun the giant breaks down the door easily. Ramsay says he changed his mind and wants to fight 1 on 1 with Jon and begins firing arrows at him. Jon blocks every one then beats the literal crap out of Ramsay, who seems to enjoy it.

“Ramsay is the biggest pervert whose ever been on this show. And there’s been a dude who has sex with his daughters on this show. So that’s saying something.”

Ramsay is tied up, and then eaten alive by his dogs.
What a night. Best episode ever, by far.

Unlike Memorial Day, which marks the unofficial beginning of summer, summer solstice is the real deal, according to science.

Solstice (Latin: ‘solstitium’) means ‘sun-stopping’. In the northern hemisphere, the summer solstice takes place between June 20 and 22. This year it’s on Monday, June 20. As the longest day of the year, it is the tipping point of when the days get shorter, and the nights get longer.

As solstices happen twice annually, the winter solstice is between December 20 and 22.

Famously, the prehistoric monument Stonehenge shows how carefully our ancestors watched the sun. The structure has its stones positioned just so, so they are aligned with sunrises on the two annual solstices. Stonehenge was built in three phases between 3,000 B.C. and 1,600 B.C. and its purpose remains under study.

However, it’s known that if you stand in just the right place inside the Stonehenge monument on the day of the northern summer solstice, facing north-east through the entrance towards a rough stone outside the circle – known as the Heel Stone – you will see the sun rise above the Heel Stone.

Stonehenge always draws a big crowd. As many as 35,000 people gather at the monument to watch the sun rise on the longest day of the year. BBC’s coverage of the event included an interview with solstice enthusiasts, who said, “We believe it is very important for people to move with the cycles of nature, and actually feel them. If you get up early in the morning and you watch that special sunrise, you’ve been a part of it. The rest of the year is shaped by that.”

But if you have to miss the shenanigans at Stonehenge, because you’re too lazy/busy to across that tiny pond called the Atlantic Ocean, there’s nothing like these memes that will set you up for the rest of the year.

Former NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Mike Wallace and his daughter were attacked Friday night at a Rascal Flatts concert in Charolette, North Carolina. Three men have been arrested in connection with the assault, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. [lead image via Getty].

Wallace wrote a status on his Facebook about the assault. He said sent him and his adult daughter Lindsey Wallace Van Wingerden to the hospital. Wallace also said in another Facebook post Sunday night that he:

“would like to say Thank you to my Family, Friends and Fans for there additional support since the beat down I got on Friday night leaving the Rascal Flatts concert. My wife Carla, Daughter Lindsey and Son n law Thomas and few friends saved me from additional beating for no reason. Doctors and Dentist appointment on Monday.”

Mike’s brother Kenny posted this Tweet regarding the incident:

The three men arrested in the assault, which happened at the PNC Music Pavilion, were: Paul Lucas, 29, Nathan Lucas, 22, of Indian Trail and Randolph Mangum, 24, of Monroe. Lucas and Mangum were charged with misdemeanor simple assault, while Paul Lucas was charged with misdemeanor assault on a female. All three criminals were released after posting bond. They are scheduled to appear in court July 22.

In my semi-professional opinion, Nathalie Emmanuel’s character Missandei is easily the hottest character on Game Of Thrones. Usually, people will say the hottest character is either Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen or Natalie Dormer’s Margaery Tyrell, but those people just aren’t paying attention, because Nathalie Emmaunel’ sheer beauty far exceeds their’s.

Emmanuel is an English actress who first came to prominence through her role Sasha Valentine in the soap opera Hollyoaks. She then went on to best cast in Furious 7 and it’s sequel as computer hacktivist Ramsey, as well as the interpreter Missandei, Daenerys’ right hand womane, on the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones. Emmanuel’s mother is Dominican and her father is of half Saint Lucian and half English descent, explaining her intoxicating exotic look.

As Daenerys’ BFF in Game Of Thrones, Missandei should survive until the end. I mean, we hope she does. Just look at her. Who wouldn’t want to see that every Sunday night?

Coming off what may be the show’s greatest ever episode, Game Of Thrones season 6 finale, “Winds Of Winter”, has a lot to live up to. “Battle Of The Bastards”, season 6’s penultimate episode, set the stage for episode 10 to be another classic. There is a lot of ground to cover in this week’s episode, which would explain the 69 minute running time, the longest ever episode of Game Of Thrones. Cersei, Margarey, and Ser Lloris all face trial, while Daenerys’ still has to deal with the slave masters attacking Meereen. Surprisingly, we’re also going to be checking in on Jon Snow and Winterfell, despite most of episode 9 being dedicated to them. It also looks like we’ll be going North of the Wall, checking in with Bran one more time before the season ends. Throw in an appearance from the dreadful Walder Fray having a meeting of sorts with Jaime Lannister, and you have quite the eventful week. Check out the trailer, then we’ll discuss.

My thoughts:

• I can see the Red Woman dying this week. With the show heading into it’s final two seasons, I can’t see what role she plays from here on out. She could be kept around just in case Jon Snow dies again, but based on what Snow has said, he doesn’t want to be revived.
• I think Ser Davos will be the one to kill The Red Woman.
• Cersei is going to attempt to blow up the Sept with Wildfire, except accidentally burn down all of King’s Landing instead.
• I’m betting that Tommen dies in said wildfire blaze, fulfilling the prophecy that all of Cersei’s children will die before her.
• This will drive Cersei mad, setting up her arch for the final two seasons.
• Not really sure what’s going to happen to the High Sparrow: I have a bad feeling he makes it out alive, somehow.
• Petyr Baelish is acting like a pervert, yet again.

The most famous thing about Cleveland is that it is a tortured city. Hell, the “Cleveland sports curse” has it’s own Wikipedia page. That is a whole new level of misery most of us will never comprehend. This is a city, a fanbase, so entrenched in disaster, that they began naming their infamous sports moments by putting “The” in front of what happened. For example, there is: “The Drive”, “The Fumble”, “The Block”, and “The Shot”.

Well, last night, Sunday June 19, 2016, all of that misery came to an end. LeBron James, Northeast Ohio’s favorite son, delivered on his 13 year long promise, and brought the city of Cleveland a championship. It wasn’t without it’s struggle, though, as at one point Cleveland found themselves down 3 games to 1, a deficit that has never been overcome in the NBA Finals. Never been over come, until LeBron arrived, that is.

Audio has been released from the 911 call that was placed as Lane Graves was being attack by an alligator at the Grand Floridian Resort at Disney World.

A woman, who has yet to be identified, said:

The woman made the call from the beach pool at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, the exact spot where 2-year-old Lane Graves’ was dragged away. As we would later learn, the boy was not drowning, but being attacked by an alligator.

The woman can be heard pleading with the dispatcher, and is allegedly one of many 911 calls police received when the alligator attack happened.

Lane’s family, who are from Nebraska, had been on holiday at the resort when their son was dragged from the water’s edge by the alligator. They released a brief statement on June 16:

“Melissa and I continue to deal with the loss of our beloved boy, Lane, and are overwhelmed with the support and love we have received from family and friends in our community as well as from around the country.”

“Tell America to stop bombing Syria and Iraq and that is why he was ‘out here right now. When the crisis negotiator asked the shooter what he had done, the shooter stated, ‘No, you already know what I did,'” according to the document.

In these calls, the shooter, who identified himself as an Islamic soldier, told the crisis negotiator that he was the person who pledged his allegiance to [omitted], and told the negotiator to tell America to stop bombing Syria and Iraq and that is why he was “out here right now.” When the crisis negotiator asked the shooter what he had done, the shooter stated, “No, you already know what I did.” The shooter continued, stating, “There is some vehicle outside that has some bombs, just to let you know. You people are gonna get it, and I’m gonna ignite it if they try to do anything stupid.” Later in the call with the crisis negotiator, the shooter stated that he had a vest, and further described it as the kind they “used in France.” The shooter later stated, “In the next few days, you’re going to see more of this type of action going on.” The shooter hung up and multiple attempts to get in touch with him were unsuccessful.
