Larissa Martinez is the brave illegal immigrant who worked her way up to be the valedictorian of her class at McKinney Boyd High School, earning a full-ride scholarship to Yale University. Larissa’s announcement came close on the heels of Mayte Lara, another undocumented immigrant who wrote on Twitter her list of achievements, including a full-ride to the University of Texas-Austin.

Unlike Mayte Lara, Larissa seemed to enjoy the support of her administration and classmates.

That may be true Lil Dicky, but god damn this song is good. Keep being soft if it means you’ll be dropping tracks like this.

Considering the majority of Lil Dicky tracks are about masturbation, getting stoned and eating pizza, “Molly” is definitely the most personal, emotional track LD has ever dropped. Since his debut album, Professional Rapper, dropped last July, Lil Dicky’s stock has been on the rise. And this song only affirms that. Proving that he can take his game to an emotional level will be huge for Dicky in the long run.

Before this, I kinda thought that despite how clearly talented he is, that Lil Dicky was a one trick pony, but this track has completely flipped that notion on it’s head. Consider me a fan.

So, yeah, Diplo man. He’s quite the polarizing DJ, you either love him or you hate him. Some see him as a womanizing old man who sells out by collaborating with the likes of Justin Bieber, while other’s see him as the f*cking man. I fall under the latter category, I respect the hell out of Diplo. Dude travels the world to beautiful locations, playing his own musics, sleeping with the most beautiful women in the world. It’s a nice life, and being the awesome dude he is, he puts most of it on Snapchat. Honestly, other than the dozens of models I follow on Snapchat, he’s my favorite follow by a mile.

As for his quote:

“The DJ world is the corniest f–ing group of people. We’re not celebrities, we’re not famous for any good reason. We’re just … really lame. We all know that movie reboots are happening and will continue happen. We also know that a good number of these reboots will involve casts of all-women replacing men (think Ghost Busters). But that doesn’t mean that we have to like it when we hear an Oceans 11 reboot featuring Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock, Mindy Kaling, and Helena Bonham f*cking Carter is going to be made. And yes, that’s a real thing that’s happening.

Here’s the plot synopsis, according to ComingSoon.net.

“This new film will be a continuation of the George Clooney-led films, with Bullock playing Danny Ocean’s ex-con sister. With help from her right-hand woman (Blanchett, playing the equivalent of Brad Pitt’s Rusty), she’ll form a team of thieves to steal a necklace from the Met Ball in order to frame a villainous gallery owner.”

God dammit.

Look, I understand that a ton of movies have been made historically featuring a strong male cast, but A) Ocean’s Eleven should be off-limits and B) Helena Bonham Carter? Come on now. What? Is she going to rob someone with a heroin needle and a wand? I’m not saying she’s not talented, but a world of suave, cool thieves does not mix well with a Queen who is 80% playing cards.

What I’m trying to say is that the casting for this Ocean’s Eleven movie just rubs me the wrong way.

Also, Ocean’s Eleven is already a reboot. Making this a reboot of a reboot. Which is dumb.

Well, that’s cause he has ANOTHER TRIAL approaching for his alleged (definite) involvement in a double homicide, as well as the appeal of his 2015 murder conviction. Yeah, sure bro, good luck with that.

Baez, how probably has trouble sleeping at night,  represented Anthony in the 2011 murder trial that captured the national spotlight, similar to the OJ Simpson trial. After the 2 month trial Anthony was ultimately found not guilty for the 2008 death of her 2-year old daughter, Caylee, who drowned in the family pool. What the hell is up with the American legal system?

As for the upcoming Hernandez trial, Baez said in a statement:

“We understand that numerous reports of our client’s alleged activity have been published, but we ask the public to afford Mr. Hernandez the presumption of innocence and let the facts unfold in a court of law.”

Hernandez’s new legal team includes Harvard Law professor Ronald Sullivan, the director of the Criminal Justice Institute, and Alex Spiro. Spiro is also representing Atlanta Hawks forward Thabo Sefolosha, who in April opted to take legal action against the New York Police Department.

What a sh*t show. Can Hernandez just die already, please?

Jack Montague, the former captain of the Yale Bulldogs basketball team, has filed a lawsuit against Yale University. Last spring, Jack was expelled from school after a sexual misconduct investigation just weeks before Yale made it the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The investigation reviewed an incident that occurred in October of 2014, when a woman accused Jack of having non-consensual sex with her.

COED was one of the first to cover this story back in February when Jack was originally expelled, although this lawsuit is a new development.

What Happened?

Montague, is 22 year old guard for the Yale University men’s basketball team. Until his expulsion this past February, Montague helped the Bulldogs to a historical season. Yale won the Ivy League title, as well securing the university’s first bid to the N.C.A.A. Tournament since 1962. However, Montague was expelled in February for the alleged rape of an still-unnamed female student.

Although Montague was accused of rape, the lawsuit reiterates Montague’s lawyer’s statement from March, when he asserted that Montague and his accuser had been involved in a previous sexual relationship, which included consensual intercourse. It also stated the alleged victim had returned to Montague’s bedroom with him on the evening in question.

Lawsuit Information

According to the NY Times:

The lawsuit and an accompanying statement released by a public-relations firm suggested that Yale chose to make an example of him in order to improve a recent bout of poor public relations in the hot-button area of campus sexual assault. Montague — captain of Yale’s basketball team and one of the most prominent male students on campus — was Yale’s ticket to restoring its tarnished image.

Montague’s lawyer also released a statement, saying:

“Yale targeted and ultimately expelled Mr. Montague in order to make a public example of a prominent male figure on campus and demonstrate that, contrary to the opinions of Yale’s internal and external critics, the university is indeed tough on men who ‘victimize’ female students.”

The lawsuit also listed several examples wherein Yale undergraduates were found responsible by the university’s committee of sexual misconduct, however they were not expelled the way Montague had been.

Montague is suing for breach of contract and defamation. As for reparations, Montague is seeking reinstatement to Yale, as well as damages.

Tovonna Holton, a freshman at Wiregrass Ranch High School in Wesley Chapel, killed herself after a naked video of her in the shower was taken without her permission and posted to the social media app Snapchat.

 The Florida teenager took her life mere hours after the video was posted. She had taken a gun from her mother’s purse and shot herself in the bathroom of her home on Sunday, June 5.

According to a quote from her mother, Levon Holton-Teamer, via Daily Mail:

I go into the bathroom, I couldn’t get into bathroom. The bathroom light was off so I tried to get in and I looked down and I saw the puddle of blood. I tried to apply the pressure, the pressure to her head,’ she said. ‘I tried to save her.’

Holton-Teamer recalls that just a couple of hours before her daughter was found dead, she had spoken told her about a nude picture her friends had taken of her without permission. Tovonna then told her mother that she “owed them”

“I said, ‘What do you mean you owe them?’ I couldn’t understand what was wrong,” Holton-Teamer said of the conversation

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, the lead investigators of the case, are looking into the allegations of cyber bullying. Eddie Daniels, a spokesman for the Sherrif’s Office, told the reporters that investigators are aware of allegations regarding the nude video and ‘continue to investigate all angles.’

Jon Bellion’s debut album, The Human Condition, released this morning. We’ve had a review copy for a couple of weeks now and I’m not afraid to say that it’s one of the better records I’ve heard all year.

Those of you who know Jon’s music know that his tracks and beats are extremely catchy. You also know that the production is tighter than a belt on Thanksgiving. These things remain true in The Human Condition.

I’m not really sure why Jon, a Long Island native, is considering The Human Condition his first album. I mean, I know that this is the first album that he’s releasing for sale, but The Definition (2014) isn’t an EP or anything. That’s a full-on album too. What I’m trying to say is that this is the dude who’s going to blow up, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but sometime. He’s already produced a ton of records for other artists, put a couple million in the bank, and now is making it his mission to make it solo.

Reports came in this morning that Gordie Howe aka Mr. Hockey is dead. The news was first broken by The Hockey News’ senior writer Ken Campbell, but then the Detroit Red Wings confirmed the tragic news. He died at 88. Media outlets are reporting that he died just before 8 AM on Friday morning.

Mr. Hockey earned his nickname in part because he played in the NHL over a period of four decades. Four decades. That’s just something that wouldn’t/couldn’t happen these days. At the age of 51, he scored 15 goals and 41 points for the Boston Whalers.

This past March 31st, Gordon celebrated his 88th birthday at Joe Louis Arena.

In 2014, Gordie suffered a massive stroke and barely escaped death. With the help of stem cell treatment in Mexico, the Red Wings Hall of Famer was able to stave off the inevitable for two more years. He will live on forever, both in the hearts of NFL fans and as a bronzed statue in Joe Louis Arena.

Gordon “Gordie” Howe, nicknamed “Mr. Hockey”, was on born March 31, 1928, and died today, June 10, 2016 at his home in Ohio. It was reported that he died before 8 AM.

Gordie Howe was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. From 1946 to 1980, Howe played 26 professional seasons in the NHL, and an additional 6 seasons in the World Hockey Association. His first 25 years were spent with the Detroit Red Wings. Howe is considered one of the greatest hockey players of all time.  Howe was a 23-time All-Star.  Howe held many of the sport’s scoring records until they were broken in the 1990s by Wayne Gretzky. Howe continues to hold NHL records for most games and seasons played, retiring in 1971. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame just one year later. Howe led the Detriots Red Wings to four Stanley Cups, in 1950, 1952, 1954 and 1955. He was a 6 Time MVP and 6 Time Art Ross Trophy winner, which is awarded to the league’s leading scorer.

Howe was renowned for his scoring ability, strength, and longevity, as he is the only player to have competed in the NHL in five different decades(1940s through 1980s). Although he only achieved the feat twice in his own career, Howe became the namesake of the “Gordie Howe hat trick”: a goal, an assist, and a fight in the same game. He was the first ever recipient of the NHL Lifetime Achievement Award, which he was awarded in 2008.

Gordie Howe Cause Of Death

Gordie Howe died at the age of 88 of natural causes. He had multiple health issues over the last couple of years, including a significant stroke in October 2014.

According to CBS:

“More than two years ago, the hockey world worried about the health of one of its all-time favorites, “Mr. Hockey” Gordie Howe when the Detroit Red Wings legend and Hockey Hall of Famer had suffered what was termed as a significant stroke in October 2014. In the weeks and months following the stroke, Howe’s family did their best to keep the public up to date on the legendary player’s recovery, and he later traveled to Mexico, where he had a stem cell treatment that family members said had given him a miraculous recovery.”

It is believed these complications were the cause of his death. Murray Howe, Gordon’s son, texted The Associated Press that “Mr Hockey left peacefully, beautifully, and with no regrets.”

Despite what your mom or dad think, eSports are here to stay. Not only are there thousands of professionals who make a living off of their gaming prowess and sponsors, now some of the world’s largest club soccer teams are starting to buy up the best squads.

Just two days ago, Valencia CF signed a deal to secure an eSports team and today Kotaku announced that Manchester United, the world’s third most popular soccer team, is also trying to get into the mix.

Specifically, Manchester United wants to put together an Overwatch team. The game is still relatively new, immensely popular (and great), and family-friendly as far as shooters go. It’s also important to consider how much support Blizzard’s given their games in the past, so we can see Overwatch being popular for a long time.

So who are the lucky players? We don’t know yet, but they must be pretty excited. From eSports-News:

[Manchester United] are in talks with a professional European Overwatch team who are currently signed to another organisation, eSports News UK can exclusively reveal.

On top of that, established eSports brand Fnatic are also interested in signing the same team, putting a British sports club head-to-head with a competitive gaming organisation in this manner for the first time.

Hopefully we find out soon. And if Manchester United is reading this and the bidding for the team falls through, just know that I’m probably a lot cheaper than those other guys.

I’ll be really interested to see who’s the first club soccer team to put together a FIFA squad. That’d be really putting their name on the line.

Iris Delgado, a reporter for Telemundo Philadelphia, was brutally punched in the face on live TV Wednesday. The circumstances of her attack aren’t exactly clear, but we do know that Iris was reporting in front of Philadelphia’s City Hall when an unknown enormous woman in green tried to interrupt the broadcast.

When Iris wouldn’t acknowledge her presence, the woman grabbed the back of her hair and punched her in the face.

The Mirror reports that Philadelphia authorities are investigating the matter.

There are approximately 1,756,927 Game Of Thrones related theories. Maybe give or take a thousand. These six theories, however, are the most popular in terms of how people think the show will end. Personally, I see the show ending in one of two ways: Jon Snow saving the realm, or the end of the world. And given what Game Of Thrones has shown us so far, it wouldn’t surprise me if they ended the series with the end of the world.

TO ALL THE IDIOTS, SPOILERS FOLLOW.

Theory #1: Jon Snow will rule the land.

In my opinion, this is the most likely scenario. Jon Snow is clearly the hero of the show, and with the whole, ya know, coming back from the dead thing, it seems he is quite important. Also, The Red Priestess Melisandre believes that Jon Snow is the “Prince who was Promised” AKA, the dude who is gonna hopefully save us from all the crazy sh*t that happens in the world.

Theory #2: Daenerys will take the Iron Throne

This theory becomes less and less likely with every passing episode. Daenerys seems to becoming more Mussolini-like everyday. For the uneducated, Mussolini was a dictator. There’s just something about Dany’s vibe this season that makes me feel like the showing is setting up for her to become a villain.

Theory #3: Jon Snow vs. Daenerys

There’s a theory that the two will clash, and I can totally see it coming. Jon would represent the North and ice while Daenerys would represent the South and fire.  There’s already some proof hat Dany is becoming evil. She has burned corpses of Khals,  and beheaded bodies of slave masters. Bloodlust runs in the family, as her father was The Mad King.

 Theory #4: The Great Northern Conspiracy

I’ve never heard of this one until today, so since I have no knowledge on it, I’m just gonna quote it:

This fan theory is one of the most popular. There are several layers to it, but here’s a short synopsis: The Starks were a point of pride for the people of the North. Since Ned Stark (Sean Bean) was killed, the seeds of the conspiracy were planted. But following anger about the bloody events of the Red Wedding, chaos in the North increases and conspiracy grows.

Many who were loyal to the Starks go on to serve other ruling families, but really they wait. When the right time arrives, they will attack from the inside out. The goal? To place a Stark, most likely Jon Snow, on the Iron Throne.

Theory #5: The White Walkers win.

To me, this is the second most likely option. A show that is famous for it’s death and despair can’t possibly end any other way, right? The theory on Business Insider states that the White Walkers are actually the good guys, given how sh*tty mankind acts in this show, but I’m just not buying it. However, I do put some credence to the notion that they end of winning. How else to end a depressing show with a depressing AF finale?

Theory #6: It was all a dream (no f*cking way)

Essentially, this theory states that the events depicted in Game Of Thrones actually happened in the past, and that it is all a story being recounted.

Not even going to delve into this one, as there is literally a zero percent chance that this will come to fruition. Literally absolute bullsh*t.
