McKenna Pilling is experiencing instant fame after her mom’s dorm room surprise went wrong.

The Utah State University student was moving out of her dorm when her mom texted her a photo; it was of her laying on a dorm room mattress. However, unknowingly to Mckenna’s mom Deanna, it was not her daughter’s bed.

Awkward.

“She came to surprise me from New York City to help clean out my dorm and apparently walked in the wrong dorm,” McKenna told Buzzfeed News. “No one was in there so she laid down for five minutes in the wrong bed and decided to send me a picture as a surprise.”

Again, AKWARD. Naturally, the conversation instantly went viral.

“My intention was only for family and friends to see [the tweet], hence the caption, ‘Momma Pilling at it again,’ because the people I know know her as ‘Momma Pilling’,” McKenna explained. “But once it got bigger and bigger we just couldn’t stop laughing because it was so unexpected.”

The tweet garnered over 14,000 retweets, plus a ton of amazing comments.

But don’t stop white people because this sh*t is hilarious.

Police believe that Curtis Ayers is the man who shot a Kansas City Detective on Monday afternoon. Curtis, a 26-year-old man from Tonganoxie, is believed to have shot and wounded a Kansas City Detective sitting in his car. Curtis then stole that police vehicle and drove it around until he found another vehicle to carjack–this one with children inside.

Curtis drove that car, along with the children, and abandoned it in Basehor. Thankfully, the children are alright. But he then grabbed a third, silver car and began to escape his the police once again. But he didn’t get far…

Two-and-a-half hours after he shot the detective, Curtis got into a shootout with the Kansas City Police and the FBI. He was arrested and then taken to the hospital with a bullet in his neck.

Students at Colorado State University know how to have a good time. We know this. They know this. Hell, even the kids at Boulder know it (even if they won’t readily admit it). So when the CSU administration requested that the students forego their annual Undie Run, what did they expect to happen? That they’d just skip it?

On the contrary, the numbers were almost larger this year than ever before.

All that being said, we didn’t think that people would actually go and get naked. But that’s CSU for ya. Always going above and beyond the call of duty to turn up.

In a rare event that only happens 13 times every century, Mercury completed its journey across the sun this morning, leaving a tiny black dot in front of the sun. The last time this happened was a decade ago, in 2006.

Mercury will not make another transit until 2019 and then 2032.

To watch the Mercury transit simply by staring at the sky with the naked eye would be impossible, not to mention dangerous. To spot it, you’ll need a special telescope or very high-powered binoculars with solar filters to see the event.

Mercury’s transit across the sun began just after 7 a.m. Eastern this morning. The tiny planet reached about midway across the sun around 10:47 a.m. Eastern and it finished its transit around 2:47 p.m. Eastern, according to Space.com. If you missed it, check out the replay.

Mercury spins around the Sun every 88 days, but its orbit is a bit tilted compared to the Earth’s orbit, so it is relative rare for the three bodies to line up for us to see.

From western Europe, north-western Africa and much of the Americas, Mercury’s seven-and-a-half-hour journey across the Sun was visible in its entirety. Other parts of the world caught bits and pieces. The only people who had to miss out completely are the folks in Australasia, far eastern Asia and Antarctica.

Last night’s game 4 of the Trail Blazers’ playoff series against the Golden State Warriors blew up because of NBA MVP Steph Curry. Dude played such an awesome game that he got an epic reaction from Microsoft cofounder and Portland Trail Blazers owner Paul Allen, whose gaping mouth and genuinely dumbfounded look on his face swept the internet in meme form.

Gotta love the internet.

After Curry scored 17 of his 40 points in the final five minutes of overtime — the most points ever scored by a single player during a playoff overtime period — Curry sealed the Warriors’ fate like it was easy, leaving Allen totally shocked.

We’re all about luxurious fraternity houses and the incredible alumni who help to build the party palaces, so when we got word there was a new episode of “Trending Houses” that took a look at The University of Washington’s Zeta Psi house, we had to check it out. Let me get straight to the point, unless you’re at school in Alabama or someplace else that has massive frat houses, you’re going to get more than a little jealous.

Not only do they have a ton of different rooms with varying functions, they have an enormous roof deck.

Again, don’t get too jealous because these guys have a ridiculous group of alumni who have helped build this from the ground up… And that’s what you’re going to do once you get rich, right?

If you’re single and constantly striking out, you’re probably thinking one thing: WTF is wrong with me? Is it the bad breath and dog hair all over your apartment? Or the fact that you can’t pick up one single piece of dirty laundry? Or that your jokes fall flat with people who don’t know you?

The list of negatives goes on. And while you can’t change some of them — the massive size of your head will sadly always remain the same — there’s one thing you can actually work on and will make you more attractive to the opposite sex. Luckily it’s not getting frosted tips and working on an eight pack — it’s so much easier.

According to a new study from the British Psychological Society, men who are good at telling a story are found to be more attractive by women than guys who clam up. In an article published in psychological journal Personal Relationships, men who have the ability to tell a story well “are seen as more attractive and higher status.”

Makes sense, you want to be entertained! And not just on your first date — throughout your relationship. No one wants to date a square.

Researchers gathered their findings by observing almost 400 undergrads in the U.S. According to Mirror,

John Donahue and Melanie Green ran experiments with 388 undergraduates in the USA who were asked to rate the attractiveness of a potential partner of the opposite sex based upon a photograph and a short biography which, in some cases, highlighted their ability to tell a good tale.

Both male and female participants considered storytellers to have higher status than non-storytellers.

It’s bad news for women who know how to tell a story, though, as apparently thisdoesn’t make them more desirable.

As the BPS points out: “That didn’t translate into finding women more attractive, whereas for female raters, there was a clear route from men’s storytelling ability to status to desirability as a long-term partner or spouse.”

Wow, that’s f*cking rude. Whatever, the moral of the story is if you can’t tell a good story, you’re a waste of space. Those less fortunate, start improving your skills or you’re going to die alone. The truth hurts!

The Citadel, a South Carolina military college, has been in the news because of an admitted female Muslim student’s request to wear a hijab. The request would have been the first time ever that The Citadel would have allowed a change from their longstanding uniform requirement.

And when we use the word “requirement,” we really mean requirement. Take a look at this section from The Washington Post, which explains the behavior expected from their students at the beach. “At beaches, for example, college rules stipulate that, ‘Cadets will change into appropriate swimwear upon arrival and change back into uniform when departing.’ ”

As you can see, the Citadel’s uniform is pretty cut and dry. Hats, long skirts, and grey are required. And even though female’s students hair is covered, it’s not the tradition Muslim head covering.

Response To The Request

Today, the President of Citadel, Lt. Gen. John Rosa, released this statement.

“An American Muslim student admitted to the Class of 2020 requested a religious accommodation to wear a head cover, called a hijab, with the standard uniform of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. While we hope the student will enroll in the college this fall, the Commandant of Cadets, after considerable review, determined the uniform exception cannot be granted. Captain (Retired) Geno Paluso’s decision was made with my support and the support of The Citadel Board of Visitors.

As the Military College of South Carolina, The Citadel has relied upon a highly effective educational model requiring all cadets to adopt a common uniform. Uniformity is the cornerstone of this four-year leader development model. The standardization of cadets in apparel, overall appearance, actions and privileges is essential to the learning goals and objectives of the college. This process reflects an initial relinquishing of self during which cadets learn the value of teamwork to function as a single unit. Upon graduation, The Citadel’s graduates are prepared to enter a life committed to principled leadership in military service and civilian careers.

The Citadel recognizes the importance of a cadet’s spiritual and religious beliefs, providing services for specific needs whenever possible. For example, during the first week of school faith-based organizations on campus and from the community meet with freshmen cadets. Cadet religious officers arrange transportation to churches, mosques, synagogues and other places of worship for those without cars. Accommodations for prayer and dietary needs are common at the college.

The diversity of religions and cultural backgrounds represented in the Corps enriches the overall cadet experience and better prepares graduates to become principled leaders in all walks of life, underpinned by The Citadel’s core values of honor, duty and respect.”

After seeing a woman cluelessly use the smith machine at the gym, this douche bag taped her stupidity instead of walking over to help a sister out. She’s just trying to get fit! Stop being such a meathead and go help her out. Sadly this is not the world we live in.

Yeah… we have no idea WTF she’s doing… but at least she’s trying! That’s more than you can say for a large number of gym members who just get the key tag for show. But that kind of thought process didn’t cross this guy’s mind. He promptly posted the video to World Star Hip Hop Facebook page and it went viral almost instantly. But instead of getting more comments sh*tting on the girl, people defended her and sh*t on the guy who filmed it. Amazing.

This guy is the worst, I’m glad I’m not the only person who sees it. Despite that fact, the video managed to garner over 9.9 million views in less than a week. But at least the comments section rips the guy a new one.

You know what’s terrifying? Tornados. You know what’s even more terrifying? Being in the middle of them. Even if it’s willingly, like these storm chasers.

Several tornados touched down in eastern Colorado on Saturday, May 7, causing property damage and injuring five people, reported NBC News.

“It generally doesn’t take much on the High Plains to create beautiful storms,” writes Ian Livingston of U.S. Tornadoes. “When the ingredients are right, tornadoes become common as well. In fact, the region east of Denver has the highest density of tornadoes in the country, although they are predominantly weak and often form by non supercellular means. Thanks to the elevation of the High Plains, plus the natural rising air which aids convection due to upslope flow as that elevation is gained, eastern Colorado is prime grounds for big stuff from little ingredients. Saturday was no different.”

Several buildings suffered “significant” damage and five people suffered minor injuries, according to the sheriff’s office in Wray, Colorado. The storm also was responsible for knocking down about 40 electric poles. The NBC station KUSA in Denver reported that the storm managed to topple at least a dozen trailer homes—because it’s not real tornado unless it inexplicably targets a trailer park.

Local residents flooded social media with images of the storm. One woman, Jennifer Jones, pulled off to the side of the road to capture this jaw-dropping footage:

According to Ron Courson, the University of Georgia’s Sports Medicine Director, the UGA football team has had less concussions than their cheerleaders or the women’s soccer team. It’s an incredible statistic–and one we take with a bit of salt–but it shouldn’t be ignored that football isn’t the only sport that can cause trauma. Being thrown up ten feet into the air, only to be caught by a couple of screaming young adults isn’t as safe as it might sound. Or maybe it is.

But back to the report. Here’s what Ron Courson had to say about things:

So what gives? We think a couple of things. First of all, sports of all kinds are dangerous. Football tends to get the spotlight when it comes to concussions because of the game’s violence, but also because it’s statistically proven that CTE has manifested itself in NFL players. But that doesn’t mean it’s the only sport where you put your brain at risk.

Second, we’re pretty certain that a ton of the smaller concussions (the ones that actually cause CTE faster than the big ones) aren’t reported by the players themselves out of the fear they won’t be allowed to play.

Considering the level of danger involved in riding a 2000-pound animal at speeds exceeding 30 MPH, we’re not that surprised to learn about horse racing.

It had all the makings of a perfect shot … on a rocky bluff, waves crashing, the wind blowing and what Jess says was her “seductively eye-f******” the drone camera lens. And then … WHAM!!

Yes this is real. There’s video to prove it.

Her bruises (both physically and emotionally) were also documented on her Instagram page.

Jonathan Crupi isn’t exactly what you would call a “ladies man.” Convicted for murdering his 29-year-old wife in 2012, Crupi staged a home invasion to cover his crazy ass then went off to celebrate his wife’s demise by meeting up with a hooker. Real standup gentleman.

Now six years later, Crupi is looking for love again through the site Convictpenpal.com. While I never understood why people wanted to hang out with wife-murdering dudes in prison, I can understand why the inmates are seeking outside comfort. It’s tough in there! And there’s no ladies around. That must really suck. But this guy’s posting is absolutely insane. And considering he’s serving 25 years for murdering his wife, I’m going to guess it’ll be pretty hard for him to find a willing and mentally stable female counterpart.

He starts off easy: “I’m a bit of a nerd, but that’s cool now, right? I’ve been told that I’m really funny, adventurous, and down to earth. Oh, and that I’m handsome, too lol.” Smooth. Then he goes on to talk about his crime, which he adamantly states he’s not guilty of.

“Being in jail sucks, but I’m an innocent man and I’m working on my appeal. Patience is a virtue, and I’ve learned a lot of it here.” LOL! Ok dude. Tell that to the hooker.

The rest of the ad reads like a typical Match.com profile. From The New York Daily News,

“For now, I just want to find an interesting girl to share experiences with…. I’m looking for someone who is happy being single, but open to the possibility of a relationship with the right person.”

He adds that, “Any race, creed, or color is ok with me. Seriously, if you are tall or short, blonde or brunette, tattooed and rude, or shy and a prude, it doesn’t matter to me. I’m open minded and I hope you are too. Take a chance and write to me soon!

The victim’s mother calls the ad a “slap in the face,” which makes sense considering the only reason why he doesn’t have any “baby mama drama” is because he killed who would have been his baby mama.

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May have a new name for their new show that’s replacing Top Gear. The new name for their Amazon Prime show is The Grand Tour, and it was announced on Twitter earlier today.

The whole reason that the trio left the BBC and Top Gear was because Jeremy Clarkson (who’s never defined himself as “restrained”) assaulted a Top Gear producer. The show Top Gear will continue on the BBC, but with different presenters.

But we digress. On to The Grand Tour.

Considering the humor these guys have, I can’t help but feel that GT (which is TG, but backwards) is a shot at the BBC.

So why choose The Grand Tour? Well first of all, as Jeremy said they’ll be traveling to a different location for each episode (which means that they probably won’t all be released at once). Richard then reiterated this.

But a Grand Tour is also something that wealthy European men used to take when they were younger. From Wikipedia:

Justin Bieber is on the brink of a mental breakdown (as if that wasn’t already obvious when he started walking about with bleached dreadlocks and a face tattoo).

Yesterday the singer we all love to hate disappointed fans when he announced the following on Instagram:

Listen, I get it. It sucks to be treated like the famous person that you are, but you also chose that life for yourself. Taking photos with your diehard fans that got you up on that stage is kind of a must. But whatever, maybe I don’t get it. After all, I’m not a multibillion dollar singer, so there’s that.

Bieber alluded to mental health issues when canceling his meet and greets at concerts. In an Instagram post, he stated,

I enjoy meeting such incredible people but I end up feeling so drained and filled with so much of other people’s spiritual energy that I end up so drained and unhappy.. Want to make people smile and happy but not at my expense and I always leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression

Almost made me feel bad for him. But then he got a face tattoo, so…

You know what’s weird? Staying friends with your exes on social media. Or just staying friends with your ex in general. Why do you want to see their life and obsess over how  much better they’re doing than you? Also, why do you want them to see your life and know where you are at all times?

According to a new study published in Personality and Individual Differences, the answer is simple: those people are psychopathic or incredibly narcissistic.

Researchers asked a group of people why they stayed friends with their exes. They then had the group think back to the time they made that decision and rate the importance of their reasons.

The most common reason people gave was a sense of security and sentimental value. Men, on the other hand, were more like to say sex and practicality. Because, obviously.

But mixed in with this portion of the study was an additional test that measured “dark personality traits,” like psychopathy and narcissism. Researchers found that the people who gave the reason “sex and practicality” also exhibited psychopathic and narcissistic behavior.

“Individuals who score higher on measures of dark personality tend to choose friends for strategic purposes,” the author concluded. “Thus, it is likely that these traits will be associated with valuing friendships for utilitarian or instrumental reasons, such as to maintain sexual access.”

At least you can feel justified in saying your ex was a psychopath, right? Good thing you got out of that mess.
