J Dilla new album stream

With The Diary, J Dilla officially ties Tupac for number of posthumous albums (though Mr. Shakur also had a posthumous collaborative album released, so you decide if that one counts or not). The rapper passed away due to a blood disease amidst other health complications in 2006, and this “long-lost” album is expected to be the final release. So if you don’t get it, you have only yourself to blame. (Unlike Tupac albums, in which case you can probably blame a conspiracy’s worth of hip-hop rivals.) Since Dilla was also an extremely talented producer, there’s a lot of vision (er–what’s the audio version of vision?) on both sides of the mic in this album.

Lita Ford new album streamEighties rock will never be mistaken for any other period, and Lita Ford isn’t afraid to indulge in the era that brought her to fame, as Time Capsule makes clear from its title, album art, and opening licks. Get your feet wet in her new album, and you’ll hear lines like “Take it to the limit!” which was the ’80s mandate.

Also, Dave Navarro plays mandolin on it, so I guess there’s room for some variety.

Plenty of fans love and miss the ’80s rock, before bands turned into a bunch of dumpy, middle-aged Nickelback clones grunting about banal crap. At least Lita’s here to rock your face off, hang it back on your head, and then shred it so no one else can repeat the trick. Like she said after the release of her last album, “I just wanted to kick ass! I don’t know what’s popular, or the flavor of the day. I just wanted the music to rock!”

Damn straight. Man, there isn’t a single member of The Runaways who couldn’t kill you with sound waves, and you’d thank her for it.

Brooklyn Democratic Debate

Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders faced off yesterday during Brooklyn’s democratic debate and things got pretty heated. With the New York Primary just around the corner — April 19th, for anyone who needs to know — their defenses were up.

In terms of delegates, Clinton is ahead 1,756 to Sanders’ 1,068, but in terms of pledged delegates, her lead is much smaller: 1,287 to 1,068. With Sanders winning 7 of the last 8 primaries, he is looking to ride his momentum into the next wave of primaries, where key democratic states such as New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and California set to vote in the coming weeks.

Check out the full Brooklyn democratic debate below.

University of Rochester Norovirus

University of Rochester

University of Rochester is currently under attack by the Norovirus and students are suffering. Here’s everything you need to know about what’s happening.

What is Norovirus?

Norovirus is a common viral gastroenteritis in humans. It’s commonly referred to as the winter vomiting bug in the UK and can affect people of all ages, especially those living within close proximity of one another. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, you can get it from contaminated food or water, or by touching contaminated surfaces. It’s highly contagious and tends to last from 24-48 hours.

What’s Happening at the University of Rochester?

The upstate New York college is currently infected by the virus, with 95 students falling ill so far. According to an email from the university, the outbreak remains largely confined to the River Campus, with a few cases also reported at Eastman School of Music. Considering how contagious the virus is, changes to the university’s Dandelion Day celebration — which is scheduled to go on today — have been made:

  • All of the amusement rides will receive disinfecting wash-downs of the ride bars and seats at 15 minute intervals. Organizers are being extra vigilant about all of the Dandelion Day activity areas being cleaned frequently.
  • Outdoor handwashing stations have been added and will be located near the rides and food areas.
  • Most of the foods and beverages available outside will be prepackaged. The visiting food trucks will follow their normal food handling protocol that includes wearing gloves and preparing the food for the customer.

WATCH: Audi Palo Alto Service Tech Dash Cam Video

Audi Palo Alto Cocaine Dash Cam

An Audi of Palo Alto service technician has been accused of doing cocaine and speeding in the car of one of their customers. While the video doesn’t show actual cocaine use (it’s a dash cam, not a passenger cam), you definitely hear something that sounds a hell of a lot like snorting and the car owner also reported that there was a white substance found in the seams of his car.

That being said, you can definitely tell that the driver of the car is speeding and driving recklessly. He stops on an open road, giggles like an idiot, and then cranks it up to 50 MPH on a city street.

Here’s the description of the video from the original upload:

Audi Service Technician takes vehicle on test drive, where he proceeds to drive recklessly, double speed limits on city streets, and takes a break to indulge in an unknown illicit substance (white powder was left in the seams of my seats) and then continues to drive while under the influence.

This is the abridged version since most will not want to walk 17 minutes of driving.

Speaking of unabridged versions, the uploader Carrera Chris (the owner of the vehicle) uploaded another section of the full video when the service tech pulls into a deserted parking lot to do his drugs. As if the snorting wasn’t enough of a tell, you can clearly hear the service tech fumbling through his pockets and then curse, saying to himself that he’s got a “serious f*cking problem.” Presumably he’s talking about the powder he spilled everywhere.

Of course, it could also be a pill that he’s trying to crush up and then it goes everywhere. Either way, this guy is looking for another job.

Science Answers Age-Old Question: Does Sex Count as Exercise?

Gym Exercise Study

You know those studies that say boning can help burn calories? That’s awesome, if it’s true. But I’ve always wondered — how legitimate can that belief be? And if it is legit, does that mean we can all skip a day (or three) at the gym?

The age-old question has finally been answered thanks to Kevin Netto, an associate professor of physiotherapy and exercise science at Curtin University in Australia.

This isn’t the first time someone tried figuring out if sex and exercise were synonymous. Studies performed in the 1960’s found that having sex increases your respiratory rate, heart rate and blood pressure, all of which are signs that your body is working at an elevated rate (like it does when you’re running full speed ahead on the treadmill).

More recent studies have been replicated these results. In an article published by The Daily Mail, Netto explains,

Comparing this to what happens during exercise, they showed sexual activity elicits a moderate level of physical stress – up to 75 per cent of maximal exercise.

But they also noticed these physiological stress levels were intermittent. Much of the average time of sexual activity recorded (33 minutes) was spent at lower stress levels.

A more recent study of young Canadian heterosexual couples showed a bout of sexual activity was akin to moderate physical activity – such as brisk walking – when energy expenditure was measured.

So basically, sex counts as legitimate exercise if you consider walking down the street legitimate exercise. Which hey, when I’m hungover, that’s exactly what I consider a good workout. If you have the same thought when you’re not hungover, then yes — forgo that five minute walk for a good wham bam thank you ma’am. You’ll be in shape in no-time!

And by no-time we mean like 25 years, but whatever! You do you.

Johnny Manziel Weed Tattoo

Captain Obvious here just checking in with an update on our boy Johnny Manziel: the dude needs help. Not only has he been tied to a house party that destroyed the rental property (video of that house party here), now BustedCoverage has discovered this morning that Johnny Manziel is now sporting a 420 marijuana tattoo on the outside of his hand.

Full Johnny Manziel Weed Tattoo Story on Busted Coverage

You can see a close-up of the tattoo in the photo above, where on his hand it reads “CDXX” and is then followed by a cannabis leaf. For those of you who skipped Latin, CDXX in roman numerals is 420. CD=400 + XX=20. So yeah, it looks nice but he could have made it a lot more discreet than having it on the outside of his hands.

BustedCoverage reports that a tattoo artist giving out free tattoos was seen at the aforementioned house party, but we’re not certain that’s where Manziel got it. What we can say is that Johnny wasn’t sporting the tattoo a week ago.

Instagram Photo

So it’s a safe bet that he got the tattoo when he was at… the tattoo parlor. Here’s a photo of celebrity tattoo artist Rafael Valdez inking up Johnny.

Instagram Photo

Let’s get one thing straight: we’re entirely pro-marijuana use when it comes to both recreational use and as a substitute for pain medication. But we’ll also be the first to say that like every other controlled substance, it’s best to keep things under control.

Maybe Manziel doesn’t actually want to be back in the NFL. It’s not like he’s done anything to show anyone that he does.

It’s no secret that Tyga has a wandering eye; he might not openly admit it, but Molly O’Malia and Annalu Cardoso would confirm otherwise. Whether or not he’s still dating Kylie Jenner — everyone seems to have a different opinion on the matter —  Tyga was just seen with a 21-year-old doppelganger.

The resemblance is uncanny.

According to The Daily Mail, the girl’s name is Tiffani Kathleen Birdas. She works at a cafe in the city’s Bracken Ridge suburb and allegedly struck up a friendship with the rapper before his show on Wednesday. The two exchanged social media handles before he left, but apparently got friendly pretty quickly; Birdas claims she was invited to enjoy the show from a VIP section at Eaton Hills Hotel, then tagged along to an after party at the city’s Sky and Lotus Bar.

“It was like a dream,” she recently told The Courier Mail. “Tyga was lovely, he was really relaxed and chilled and really humble.”

Yeah… we bet. Despite the striking resemblance, Birdas insists the rapper didn’t mention his reality star lady friend. Which should be obvious — that’s not how you score with your a hot doppelganger. Well-played, Tyga!

University of California to Pay Settlement in Death of College Football Player

The University of California just settled a wrongful-death lawsuit that was filed against them by the family of a football player after his death in 2014. The settlement, which was for $4.75 million, was announced Thursday, ending months of litigation after university officials finally admitted liability in the death of Ted Agu.

Ted Agu was a 21-year-old public health major with plans to go to medical school. He was a defensive lineman for UC’s football team and died shortly after an off-season conditioning workout outside Cal’s Memorial Stadium on Feb. 7, 2014.

According to fellow teammates, the players had been directed to run up and down a steep asphalt hill ten times while holding a rope together, something they had never before done before. During the drill, they said Agu was showing visible difficulty, falling to his knees several times before collapsing halfway up the hill on the last lap. Agu was taken to Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley, where he was pronounced dead.

As part of their suit, Agu’s parents claim that their son shouldn’t have been in such a strenuous workout because he carried sickle cell trait, a blood abnormality that can lead to death under extreme exertion, a fact which the university was aware of.

Back in January, UC officials acknowledged their liability in Agu’s death, agreeing that their negligence played a part.

goldenbearsports.com

goldenbearsports.com

“The University is glad to have reached a resolution with the Agu family, as it has been a difficult process for everyone involved,” Dan Mogulof, a UC Berkeley spokesman, said in a statement.

In addition to the money, the settlement will also dictate reforms in the university’s athletics program. For example, coaches will not be able to use “high-risk physical activity” as a punishment, and superiors workout and conditioning plans are to be reviewed by superiors before they are implemented. Coaches and team doctors will also be educated on sickle cell trait and the medical complications it can cause, so as to be better prepared to deal with it in the future.

“We were never going to accept just money,” Steve Yerrid, one of the attorneys who represented the Agu family, told The San Francisco Chronicle. “The most unnatural act in the world is for a parent to bury their child.”

The NBA Playoff Bracket is all set after the NBA regular season finished in one of the greatest single nights in NBA history. But we’re not here to talk Kobe or regular season records, we’re here to talk about the part of the NBA player’s lives that matter the most: playoffs. Records, wins, and highlights mean nothing if you’re not holding the trophy. Here’s a quote from a very blunt Kobe Bryant regarding that very topic. “You either win a championship or you’re sh*t.”

So that being said, here are 18 teams who hoping to prove that they’re much more than sh*t. Obviously the favorites in the Western Conference are the Golden State Warriors, but both the Spurs and the Thunder are going to give them a serious run for their money come Western Conference Finals. In the East, everyone assumes the Cavaliers are going to make it to the Finals–but we’re not too sure. Playoff Lebron is still the most deadly single force in the NBA, but the Cavaliers have shown signs of weakness throughout the season. They’re definitely vulnerable to upsets.

NBA Playoff Bracket

Here’s a visual representation of the 2016 NBA Playoff Bracket. We’ll update this after the first round is over with.

Airport Employee Fakes Own Death to Avoid Difficult Customer

There’s no quicker way to create a misanthrope than by having them work in customer service. Really, it’s a proven formula: the more time you spend catering to the demands of others, the more likely you are to develop a soul-sucking hatred for humanity. Perhaps one good thing that comes from working customer service is that you eventually collect a lot of bizarre stories to tell at parties.

For example: meet, Patrick Lenton, a guy who used to work behind a desk at the Sydney International Airport. According to Patrick, during his time there, he once faked his own death in order to get away from a “difficult” customer.

Really:

Twitter

Twitter

The story, which he told on Twitter, is absolutely hilarious. Strap in, folks, because this one is a while ride.

PatrickLenton1

PatrickLenton2

PatrickLenton3

PatrickLenton4

Remember, Patrick, the customer is always right. I’m sure you can all see where this is going.

PatrickLenton5

PatrickLenton6

Because people in the customer service industry need to stick together.

Anyway:

PatrickLenton7

I guess the moral of the story is that, when in doubt, run from your problems and pretend that you died in a nonexistent tunnel. It will all work out in the end. Or something. One can only hope that the angry man Patrick was hiding from sees this and can now rest easy, knowing that he didn’t send some stranger to their untimely death.

If you want to hear more stories from Patrick, you’re in luck because he writes them. His new book, A Man Entirely Made of Bats, is available for purchase.
