Reporter Alex Savidge and cameraman Chip Vaughn for KTVU were busy filming a segment for the morning news when they nearly were hit by a car. Although the car only looks like it’s going maybe 15 miles per hour (tops), Alex could easily have been seriously injured or even killed if the car wound up rolling over him.

The live shot then continued with Alex thanking his quick thinking cameraman Chip with an emotional hug, tears, and a shoutout to his wife.

And as if that’s not enough, now Alex is doing a Facebook live video giving the full rundown. Although I’ve got say that in the video it looks as though cameraman Chip grabs Alex. Not the case. As we learned from the riveting Facebook Live Video, Chip only saved his camera.

Molly Qerim has the hardest job on television: she has a front row seat to Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith illogically screaming at each other as the host of ESPN’s First Take. Thank god she toughs it out for us, though, because she makes watching First Take, much, much, easier. I mean just look at her. I thought First Take was screwed when they lost certified smokeshow Cari Champion, but not only did they recover: they improved.

Qerim, born on March 31, 1985, is an American sports anchor and moderator for ESPN’s First Take. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Arts in communications and a minor in business administration, which then led to her completing her master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Quinnipiac Univevsity. 

 Qerim has also been the host of NFL Network‘s weekday morning show, NFL AM, and NFL Fantasy Live and  was previously a sports anchor and reporter for NFL Network. Qerim has been a part of other digital media content, conducting interviews of various athletes and celebrities for ESPN.com and ESPN Mobile. She has covered multiple Super Bowls (hosting, reporting, and red carpet events), the Heisman Trophy presentation, the NBA Draft, the NBA All-Star Game and the MLB All-Star game, providing on-site reporting and interviews.  Quite the steal for ESPN. 

It seems that ESPN uses First Take host’s as a springboard to anchoring Sportscenter, so if we’re lucky, we’ll only see more of Molly as time goes.

And, last but least, but most of all luckily for us, it appears there will be classic Game Of Thrones level nudity this season. Always a plus.

Game Of Thrones returns (finally!) to HBO on Sunday April 24th. In contrast to the previous seasons, it largely consists of original content not found in George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, but also adapts material from the upcoming sixth novel in the series, The Winds of Winter, as well as some content from the fourth and fifth novels, A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons.

Hulk Hogan, the 62-year-old wrestler, said during trial on Monday that he was “completely humiliated” by a secretly recorded sex tape published online by Gawker, and is seeking $100 million in damages from the website.

Hogan said the publication of a one-minute, 41-second excerpt of a video of him having consensual sex with the wife of his then-best friend, radio shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge, destroyed his personal and professional life.

Hogan is testifying again today in his lawsuit against Gawker over the tape posted by the website in 2012.

“I was completely humiliated,” Hogan said in a report by Reuters, noting the embarrassment was personal and professional. “It was even embarrassing as my character. Hulk Hogan was embarrassed.”

Hulk Hogan’s legal name is Terry Bollea. The wrestler showed up in court in his signature bandana with a black suit and a cross necklace. He called the Hogan character “completely opposite” to his true personality, which according to him is soft-spoken and non-argumentative. (Awwww…)

Hogan is a longtime champion of World Wrestling Entertainment and reality TV star. His lawyers defended his case by stating he had a right to expect privacy in a private bedroom and the video was filmed without his knowledge.

Gawker attorneys, however, questioned what the wrestler knew about cameras in his friend’s house. (So if Hogan knew about the cameras, it becomes reality TV and hence, legal?)

Gawker claims it had the right under the First Amendment to post the video clip. “Gawker believes this kind of reporting is important,” an attorney for the company, Mike Berry told jurors, explaining that celebrity sex tapes are among the “uncomfortable” topics important to the outlet, known for gossip and media reporting.

Terry Bollea—better known by his ring name “Hulk Hogan“—hasn’t been in a spotlight this bright since his heyday in the WWE. The 62-year-old former wrestler, actor, TV personality, entrepreneur and rock bassist has recently been involved in a very public lawsuit against the popular gossip site Gawker.

Back in 2012, the site posted a one minute and forty one second clip of a sex tape, which showed Hogan getting it on with his ex-wife’s best friend. The trial, which began this week in St. Petersburg, Florida, will determine whether or not Gawker had the right to post the video, which Hogan claims was an extreme invasion of privacy.

“I was embarrassed by what it did to me as a person, but it was even embarrassing as a character,” he said Monday in court. “Hulk Hogan was embarrassed.” And, when Hulk Hogan is embarrassed, Hulk Hogan sues—for $100 million in emotional damages.

This is not the first time Hogan’s been in hot water, but no matter what controversy he’s faced, there’s no denying that the 12-time world wrestling champion has been successful. Here’s a look back on how the Hulk managed to rake in the cash.

Hulk Hogan broke into the professional wrestling scene in the late 70’s in Florida. He earned the nickname “the Hulk” after he appeared on a talk show with Lou Ferrigno, the star of The Incredible Hulk television series. Sitting next to each other, it was obvious to the audience that Hogan was actually taller, more muscular, and just generally bigger than the Hulk. Soon after, he started performing as Terry “The Hulk” Boulder.

By 1979, the Hulk was noticed by Vincent McMahon Sr., the legendary promoter and owner of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF)—now known as theWorld Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Hogan had his debut match against Andre the Giant. Hogan won the match and Hulkmania took off from there.

In the 1982 movie Rocky III, Sylvester Stallone cast Hogan as Rocky’s opponent “Thunderlips: the Ultimate Male.” His over-the-top cameo is just one example of the Hulk’s popularity in the 80’s.  He was featured on the covers of dozens of magazines, such as TV Guide and People. He also made the cover of Sports Illustrated, making him the first and (until 2013) only professional wrestler to do so.

The Hulk was also no stranger to TV appearances.  He even had his own CBS Saturday morning cartoon: Hulk Hogan’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling. He was actually a big hit with kids. He was named the most requested celebrity for the Make-a-Wish Foundation at the time.

He continued to wrestle for the WWF and internationally, holding the title of “WWF Champion” for four consecutive years.

2005-2007

In 2005, Hogan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. That same year, VH1 premiered a reality TV called Hogan Knows Best, which followed the day-to-day life of Hogan, his wife Linda, and their two children, Brooke and Nick. The show was cancelled in 2007, which, coincidentally, was when Linda filed for divorce.

She said it was due to Hogan’s multiple affairs, but Hogan continues to deny that he ever cheated on her. At the time,  it was estimated that Hogan’s personal net worth was about 30 to $40 million, but after the divorce, he was forced to pay his ex-wife 70% of the couple’s combined assets, which added up to about $30 million in cash, property and cars.

2014-2016

In February of 2014, Hulk returned to the WWE the host of WrestleMania, but the position was short-lived. Less than a year later,Hogan was fired after a series of racist comments that were caught on tape in 2007 were made public. Really, someone needs to explain to this man how video cameras work.

Gawker‘s defense is that sex tape falls under the protection of the First Amendment, since, as a celebrity, Hogan’s life—including his sex life—is of interest to the public. He’s made it public interest.

“Hulk Hogan was more than willing to talk about his sex life – including in two autobiographies, a reality TV series and Howard Stern’s radio show – until he didn’t like what Gawker had to say. Now he wants $100 million as compensation,” the media group told People.

The Hulk’s argument is that the Hulk is a fictional character. Being that open is a part of the act, but that doesn’t mean that the man behind the persona—Terry Bollea—deserves to have his private life bared for millions to see.

“Terry Bollea is a normal person,” he said. “Wrestling is his job.” This line of logic ended up with Hogan being asked about the length of his penis under oath because, apparently, Terry Bollea and Hulk Hogan differ in that respect as well.

Really.

“Well, it’s not mine, because mine isn’t that size. But we were discussing the length of Hulk Hogan’s. I do not have a 10-inch penis,” said Hogan under oath in a freakin’ courthouse. “No, I do not.  Seriously.”

On March 8th at around 8:40 PM EST, there will be a solar eclipse–meaning that the sun will be completely blocked by the moon. The college basketball regular season has come to an end and it is now conference tournament time. The Kansas Jayhawks go into the Big 12 Tournament as the No. 1 team in the country followed closely by the Michigan State Spartans at number 2. The Spartans are the highest ranked team in the Big Ten Conference but are not the top seed in their own conference tournament with the Indiana Hoosiers at No. 10 being the regular season champions in the conference.

The Villanova Wildcats won the Big East and are the number 3 team in the country this week followed by the Virginia Cavaliers and the Xavier Musketeers. It should be noted that the 14th-ranked Louisville Cardinals and the 25th-ranked SMU Mustangs are both not eligible for postseason play so two more at-large spots are going to be available this season which could make the upcoming March Madness even more wild than normal.

Six University of California at Santa Cruz students were arrested Friday after authorities found out they were part of an MDMA drug ring on campus.

It’s pretty badass, but it’s also illegal, so that sucks.

Three brothers of Lambda Phi Epsilon, an American Asian interest fraternity, and three sisters of Alpha Kappa Delta Phi, an Asian American interest fraternity, were the accused. They are all 21-years-old.

According to San Jose Mercury News, the investigation started when suspicious packages started coming into the college.

Police were alerted to suspicious packages traveling through the U.S. Postal Service in recent weeks, shipped from overseas to three Santa Cruz addresses.

Further investigation showed the packages contained the illegal drug MDMA, also known as Ecstasy or Molly. Police followed deliveries to residences in the 400 block of Locust Street, 200 block of Castillion Terrace and 100 block of Peach Terrace and seized more than $100,000 in MDMA, weighing 4.1 pounds with about 5,000 tablets, according to police.

That’s a sh*t ton of MDMA. These students were definitely on track to getting out of college debt free.

Police believe the students were all working together and had received similar shipments in the past, but this has yet to be confirmed. Who knew these kids had it in them?

Another Chipotle location in Massachusetts was forced to close Tuesday after four of its employees became sick with the norovirus, just a couple months after a huge food-borne illness health scare also involving the norovirus. None of the restaurant’s customers became sick, but at what point do stories like this start to take effect on the chain’s business?

Apparently, immediately.

According to FOX, Chipotle’s shares fell 3.8 percent to $504.50 in extended trading.

The store, located in Billerica (outside of Boston) was closed for a full cleaning and will be inspected this morning. “The employees did not come into the restaurant,” Sandra Giroux, of the Billerica Board of Health, said. “They called in sick. Chipotle has voluntarily shut down and are throwing away all of the food items in the store and are sanitizing everything according to their new protocol [source].”

You might remember that Chipotle recently had multiple different food-borne illnesses break out at different locations around the country. Along with California, Massachusetts Chipotles were the cause of a statewide norovirus outbreak.

Other locations in various states caused E Coli outbreak.

Xavier D. Eaglin, a 19-year-old Cornell University basketball player, has been arrested on charges of rape, sexual assault, and strangulation, as reported by the Cornell University Police Department to the Cornell Sun. The CUPD has charged Eaglin with first-degree rape, three counts of first-degree criminal sexual assault and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation.

Eaglin was charged with four Class B felonies and one Class A misdemeanor. He was arraigned Monday and was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. A preliminary hearing will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m., according to CUPD [source].

A police press release said the investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.

The timing couldn’t be worse for the Ivy League, considering that Yale’s former captain, Jack Montague, was expelled from school following a rape investigation.

Cornell University men’s basketball player Xavier Eaglin has been charged with and arrested for rape and strangulation. Police say the investigation is still ongoing and that further charges are pending.
