Last night Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards addressed the state about the current budget crisis and offered up a horrifying solution: suspending college football.

According to Edwards, schools across the state could run out of money by April if his tax increases are not passed, which means schools would shut down, along with their athletics.

Here’s the full quote:

“If you are a student attending one of these universities, it means that you will receive a grade of incomplete, many students will not be able to graduate, and student-athletes across the state at those schools will be ineligible to play next semester. That means you can say farewell to college football next fall.”

Hold up… is this a threat?

According to ESPN, “the Democratic governor is pushing for tax increases to help make up a $940 million budget deficit by the end of June. He said Louisiana could be forced to cut vital health services as well.”

“These are not scare tactics. This is reality,” Edwards said. “An unstable state budget will not only hurt children and working families in our state, it will devastate communities, businesses and local government as well.”

Amy also identifies as a Christian conservative, so it kind of sucks that Ted Cruz pulled a (pretty  good) campaign spot called “Conservatives Anonymous,” where disappointed voters admit they voted for candidates who turned into typical Washington insiders. Amy played a concerned Christian who chided another disappointed Republican that he “should vote for more than just a pretty face next time.”

The title of the video below is “Auburn Gymnastics vs Alabama Highlights” — but the biggest damn highlight is that Auburn beat Alabama in gymnastics for the first time since the Carter administration. That’s a losing streak of 117 gymnastic meets over the past several decades. No football team could make up for that.

To be fair, though, gymnastics don’t quite generate the fever that football can down South. Still, this win has gym freaks celebrating Auburn’s move from a #8 ranking to the top three in the SEC. Kanye West finally released his new album The Life of Pablo in CDQ on TIDAL, so drop everything and stream or download the record now. After all, this is an effort that Kanye boldly described as “not the album of the year. This is the album of the life.” Similarly, waiting for the album has seemed like an effort of the year.

The Life of Pablo (previously known as WAVES, SWISH, and So Help Me God before that) is Kanye’s seventh studio album and has been a project of the rapper’s for over a year now. Paul McCartney, Sia, Vic Mensa, Kendrick Lamar, Ty Dolla $ign and Post Malone are among people who’ve collaborated on tracks for the the album–but not all of them made the cut. That’s the kind of perfectionist attitude you can expect from Yeezy.

Kanye is certainly proud of T.L.O.P, but it’s important to note that the record is just one part of his attempt to take over Spring 2016. Kanye has famously changed a lot of things about The Life of Pablo, presumably because he’s such a perfectionist. Originally he had shared a notepad with some tracks he had laid out to be his tracklist, but slowly that list grew along with the amount of signatures and names associated with the project.

You can see the final instance of that notepad below.

Except he didn’t use that at all, switching up the album, the track list, and plenty more before it turned into The Life of Pablo.

Kanye West was on Saturday Night Live last night — with Melissa McCarthy hosting, but  you know that show was all about Kanye West. And since Andy Samberg isn’t on the show anymore, it was left to Kyle Mooney to do the token Nerdy White Rapper sketch.

So somebody on the writing staff had to say, “Hey, Kanye, we have a nerdy white rapper sketch, and it’d be cool if you’d do a quick freestyle rap battle the guy,” and Kanye said, “Cool, but it has to be pre-taped because I’ll be all busy changing people’s lives with my musical performances during the show,” and the writer’s staff guy said, “We’ve been pre-taping the entire show since 1994!”

And then Kanye said: “Hey, this is going to be all predictable, right, and the white guy will just look stupid? ‘Cause I won’t be upstaged in the name of comedy!” And the writer’s staff guy said, “Kanye, you know we’re always keeping it predictable here on SNL, and the sketch will still be the highlight because it’s Kanye West!”

And that turned out to be true. It helps that Kanye also throws in some rare self-deprecating remarks. That’s enough of a surprise that we can’t believe the SNL writers had anything to do with that. Now we’re looking out for official video of those life-changing musical performances…

Viola Beach is dead. All the members of the British pop band were in a car that plunged 82 feet down into a canal in Sweden — after a highway bridge had opened to let a boat pass. The bodies of all four band members, along with that of manager Craig Tarry, were recovered by divers.

The car had to crash two barriers with flashing lights to get to the fatal drop. They also had to get around a lot of other cars that had stopped for the rising bridge — so there’s no telling yet what was going on there. They’d gotten some decent exposure with the release of the Swings & Waterslides album last year. That debut had Viola Beach sounding kind of promising as a catchy indie pop band with a brooding undercurrent.

Of course, now they’re all rock ‘n roll legends. That would be Kris Leonard (guitar/vocals), River Reeves (guitar), Tomas Lowe (bass), and Jack Dakin (drums). We’re pretty sure that at least one of the guys was still in their teens. Anyway, here’s an idea of what we just lost. Anything else that hasn’t been released will definitely see the light of day…..

Arkansas State had the worst kind of Twitter activity earlier today, as the campus went on lockdown following reports of “males with weapons” being seen near the Student Union. That’s a busy place even on the weekends. The reports added that the men were walking “toward Dean Street, which got the alerts flying… [photo via…]

For now, though, there’s also good news with the lockdown lifted….

People are still nervous, though, with just a general announcement that security is reviewing videotapes. A spokesman added: “To our knowledge, no one has been arrested. Police are still investigating the report.” We’d put ourselves on lockdown for a while, still. At least until The Walking Dead is over.

Statement from Arkansas State University:

Numerous first responders from the University Police Department, Jonesboro Police Department, Craighead County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas State Police and other law enforcement agencies worked swiftly and cooperatively this afternoon in response to what eventually turned out to be a false alarm on the campus.

Apparently students were filming a video project near the Union, and costumed actors were reported as possible campus intruders. These students have been located and interviewed by University Police Officers. As a result, it has been confirmed that there was no gunman on campus.

Deadpool just made the movie marketing industry very happy with an estimated $135 million opening weekend. That beats out The Matrix Reloaded (at $91.7 million) for a record for the Largest R-rated Box-Office Weekend ever. That’s still just the start of the many records Deadpool broke while Ryan Reynolds started celebrating having a career again.

Deadpool, for example, can now also claim the Largest R-rated Thursday Preview Box-Office — although we initially thought the superhero was going to break the old Guardians of the Galaxy record. Instead, Deadpool‘s 12.7 million was beating out The Hangover Part II‘s $10.4 million preview in 2011. That helped Deadpool coast to the Largest Ever February Opening Day at $47.5 million, spanking the lovers of Fifty Shades of Grey (at $30.2 million, and just a lousy $8.6 million on its own Thursday previews. ).

Deadpool made $47.5 million on Friday alone, setting a new record for Largest Single-Day Box Office in February (sorry again, Fifty Shades). It looks like we can also add up the upcoming holiday returns for the Largest 4-Day President’s Day Weekend — estimated at $150 million.

That $135 million also gives Deadpool the Largest Winter Season Opening Ever, beating American Sniper‘s 89.2 million. It’s even the largest opening ever for 20th Century Fox, knocking out Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith at $108.4 million.

But there’s one record that was a lot closer than we ever expected. Deadpool obviously already has the Largest R-Rated Comic Adaptation Opening Weekend. It’s a blowout, but not like we expected. We were thinking about multiple adaptations of The Punisher (all three are underrated), plus Thirty Days of Night, the first Blade movie, Sylvester Stallone’s Judge Dredd, Watchmen, The Crow, V for Vendetta — but we completely forgot about 300.

Not even close. Deadpool at $135 million compared to 300 at $70.8 million.

So what does this mean? A lot more R-rated comic book movies, people! Add in the diversity push, and we can expect one hell of a Luke Cage: Hero for Hire film in our future! Also, the multiple mad marketing pushes for Deadpool really paid off, so expect to see the PR departments having a lot more fun. We’re pretty sure there’s a Deadpool sequel happening, too, and Ryan Reynolds is having an Elvis weekend. Good for him. Now how do we dispose of every copy ever made of Wolverine: Origins?

In a new video posted to YouTube just a few hours ago, Kyle Boggess from California let his girlfriend have it on Valentine’s Day that will make you cry. And not because it was really, really sweet.

According to The Daily Mail, Boggess had been dating his girl for only two weeks when he decided to make a fake Plenty of Fish profile to catch her in the act. Instead of just calling her out for finding her profile, he had her come to his house on Valentine’s Day, blindfolded her, scattered rose petals all over his house, and presented her with a card full of photographic proof of her awfulness.

Naturally, Boggess filmed the entire interaction and posted it online for all the world to see. Check it out:

Then, the grand reveal.

The Kyle’s brother chased her out of the house.

Boggess also posted the video to his Facebook page.

He claimed when he posted the video on Facebook: ‘My “girlfriend” was being shady. I made a fake Plenty Of Fish account and she told that account she was single, had no luck with guys blah blah blah.’

He claimed she made plans with him over the fake profile.

The girl in the video was later identified as Anna Miller and her sister fought back with a vicious Facebook message:

Granted, the whole thing seems a bit extreme considering they were only dating for two weeks, but whatever. Maybe he’s just sensitive? I mean, come on. Two weeks?! You probably didn’t even know her middle name! Everyone just needs to chilllll.

Am I wrong? I’m going with “no.”
